I've been using Invision for years and they are always coming out with updates and changes to make their prototyping and workflow better than before.
I wish some of my non-design coworkers could learn Invision easier, since it takes a bit to learn the tips and tricks, since it's such a powerful program.
Showing non-designers what a product will look like without having to spend all the time to make it a complete one (prototyping). Otherwise, it's the best collaboration program between designers and devs.
I've tested several tools that offer most of the same features, but InVision takes the cake each time. Their experience is extremely solid and the tools are invaluable—not to mention their support is super helpful.
There are some aspects of the interface I don't love, but it's not enough to prevent me from using the product.
I mainly use InVision for the newer Inspect feature, and even though it's only in beta, it's already been working smoother and more solid than other tools that offer this feature-set exclusively.
The ease of use is great, I was able to pick it up very quickly without the need for help docs. InVision also updates with new features pretty regularly. InVision also created craft a plugin for sketch that not only helps connect sketch to InVision but also adds extra features to sketch.
I was hoping for InVision to release a WYSIWIG tool after they acquired MACAW. You cant create a project with multiple screen types (like desktop & Mobile views). It would be also helpful if they added functionality for fixed elements within the page (like their fixed footer/header feature).
I create websites and apps. Invision helps bring the design screens into a user flow.
I use inVision in a sales engineering capacity, creating presentations for enterprise pitches. I had never heard of inVision before working at my company, but was happy to begin using it as it's an extremely easy tool to use. I have it activated with the Sketch Sync, and the learning curve took about 2 weeks before I was cranking through dozens of presentations. You can reorganize slides, create touch-points, and edit presentations with the drag-and-drop ease that Powerpoint users still have yet to master.
I find it a bit difficult to get in contact with the support team. I work alongside a support team and I understand you can't accommodate thousands of questions and requests per day, but calling out the help desk or a phone number where I could leave a voicemail would be ideal. Other than that gripe, which is a small nitpicky one, I really like using invision.
Invision helps us to better communicate our technological vision to potential clients and customers in a way that a conference call or slide deck would not be able to do. We want the client to experience how we intend for them to use our software, and inVision gives the realest feel out of any software I've used.
It makes collaborating with a large team so much easier. Especially with developers. Also, the fact that it helps bridge communication with stakeholders when demonstrating a function.
There could be a lot more interactions built out to better flush out the intricate functions.
Prototypes for user testing, to send mocks to developers and stakeholders to demonstrate function, inspect for design details...
Ease of use - virtually anyone can pick it up without any coding expertise. Additionally, the prototypes are extremely simple to pass off to clients, even our less tech-savvy clients can use them!
Lack of automation within the workflow. Some tasks are very repetitive (such as adding hotspots or overlays), and the tools they have to address those problems (like the template and overlay feature) aren't always able to work for your prototype.
With InVision, we're able to create exceptional prototypes quickly and easily. Most importantly, we're able to successfully pass prototypes off to clients effortlessly. Working in a large-team environment, InVision is a great tool to collaborate with other designers. It allows us to invite many designers to specific prototypes, and share our work in one central prototype space - of which can be distilled into the final product. Lastly, the Craft plugin is downright amazing! Seamless integration with Sketch makes creating prototypes lightening fast, along with a ton of other great features I use countless times every day.
The ability to download a plugin and use it inside of photoshop, that way when our sales team is in another city, they can help me make real time adjustments to design which in turn creates a quick turnaround and better customer satisfaction.
There is a bit of a learning curve for the other end user, trying to explain to other people on how to use it can be frustrating at times.
I'm the sole designer for my company and this allows me to turn out products faster and more efficiently.
Easy to use and easy to explain to clients how to access it
Sizing and dimensions get skewed sometimes when shown in the app
I provide InDesign templates to Bloggers and Online Businesses
Very fast tool that allows me to drop in a large group of screens and quickly link together with hotspots
Sometimes slow to load with large projects
Software UI design for enterprise marketers
I love that it is so easy to show on desktop to tablet to mobile. Great versatility and easy to learn functionality.
I wish that they had a partnership with Adobe so that I could easily update layouts and have it update in real time on InVision.
InVision make it easy for our clients to see prototypes and gives them the confidence to buy-in.
This is a great tool. i love using invision for my projects. Makes thing feel real.
That I need to be connect online to work on it.
Interaction details.
The UI is perfection. It works fast, simply, and everything's clear. My clients love it.
There's not much that I can think of to dislike.
Mockup and design review with multiple clients.
I have been using Invisiom for the past few months now and I am loving it. I have been using sketch software and with the help of the craft plugin I can connect sketch and incision together.
There are few bugs in the cray plugin that can easily mess up your incision prototype so I am hoping that gets sorted out.
Presenting a complete interactive prorotype helps the business understand the whole product and how the users are going to interact with it.
I like how easy it is to put something together from slide to slide. I also REALLY appreciate the fact that you can use more than use the basic file types. They allow for AI and PSDs so you don't have to convert to a bunch of raster images just to upload. It does it for you! That alone is invaluable. I use it mainly for wire framing up website mock ups and connecting each slide is super easy and the Template option to add the same link locations is HUGE so you don' have to add each one over and over. InivisonApp has been a great tool to help communicate my ideas.
I can't think of many flaws with the Invision app itself, and I didn't set it up initially so I'm not sure if they have this but a nice walk through of all the features would be nice. I seemed to figure things out as I went, which was easy enough.
Sharing web design concepts and customer flow. We've been able to come together and work on projects seamlessly.
Drag and drop, easy to use. Intuitive. I use it for both prototyping and for managing design feedback and revisions.
Wish there was an easier way to keep and track revised screens.
User testing, collaboration, team input and decision making.
fast, intuitive, the real look and feel experience. There is simply an easy way to to prototype and InVision got it right, upload 2 images, one as starting point, the other as the end point. Click on the start point, choose the prototype tool, mark the spot, and link the end point. Do this for every possible combination and you have a walk thought.
I sometimes loose track with the many screens it can possible has, that i start making my own drawn maps, I wish In Vision could have a way to see the whole project as a site map experience.
user interface, creating a better and faster experience to become a member of out loyalty program. In Vision not only helped us to create a walk through the new login, but also we showed this to the sales team and other executives outside the project, to test it, with positive results.
How easy it is to lear how to use it, because the UX is perfect!
I cannot think of something I don't like at the moment :)
I usually use it to send to my colleagues revisions of a website. This has helped to keep our communication flow way more understandable and immediate
Using InvisionSync allows me to design mulitple pages, save my progress, and upload for review just by pressing the save button. Any changes that I make update within seconds. No more exporting each page as a jpg, then combining into a PDF and emailing for internal or client review. This is so much more streamlined.
There's not much to dislike with InVision! We really love this app.
We've saved so much time & money using InVision. We can now comment on designs internally, iterate and present to clients all within one app.
It's very easy to take your designs and make a clickable prototype. It connects and syncs with the best wireframing software. They're always updating their features making it easy for the whole team to interact.
Some of the advanced interactions were clunky. Using swipe down functionality was often defaulting.
Solving in showing stakeholders and clients early stage web app and mobile app prototypes to get sign off. The benefits illustrated how to make user flows and making abstract concepts more concrete. Also used to conduct usability tests.,
InVision is so easy to understand and very user friendly
I'm was actually really happy with it when I had the chance to use it.
Usability and design interface are amazing, so easy.
I like how easy it is to share prototypes and gather comments, also how they strive to integrate with Adobe & Sketch
I wish it could integrate with Adobe the same way it does with Sketch (if you update a file in Sketch it will update in InVision automatically)
User Experience issues within programs for multiple clients.
Efficient communication between team members and the ability to share to clients and other stakeholders a fairly reasonable prototype.
Not enough interactions available, sticky headers and footers are limited. No ability to change state of hotspots or objects as you scroll.
The ability to share with clients and team members who may not be in the same office. The ability to create prototypes that work on a plethora of devices and get your point across, quickly and accurately.
Invision continues to be the leading tool to demo prototypes and collaborate on design and ux with decision makers. The ability to place notes at the point of emphasis is a huge plus.
Would like if this tool were more tightly integrated with adobe products.
With invision I am able to effectively communicate to decision makers a more realistic solution without necessarily spending time in code
I like that non-coders can design something and pass it off to a developer with parts of the source available. It cuts down developing time!
The source code is still in BETA and it isn't very accurate so there is room for error. But it has potential.
It helps us go from design to implementation very quickly.
I hate getting emails from client with a word doc with changes and content, invision allows you to send the web design to the client to review and click on the sections they want changed.
limit on the free version :D..................................
projects draging out in revision, get the changes, get it done and ship
It's incredibly intuitive. They file synching feature makes my life so much easier. They also improve on the experience frequently so it's always getting better. Also works well with Sketch and I can't wait to pair it with Craft. Nice to see a software company that plays well with others.
I'm still stuck using Adobe so it's a bummer that it's more focused on Sketch users. I understand why, but it's still a bummer.
Synching my files makes it easy to quickly edit my prototype so I have a faster turn around with clients.
I like the fast content filling on my mockups. Very fast.
Nothing at all. I think that they are doing a fantastic job with their products.
I'm able to quickly put together mockups that have content inside of them without gathering stock imagery and etc.
Ease of use and collaborative work between teamates and customer
It sometimes demand a high amount of resources of not so new computers
Fast development for mockups and visual solutions, as well as fast feedback and collaborative work with colleagues and clients.
We have knocked presentations out of the ball park with this software and look forward to bridging our designs to development with this prototyping solution.
None so far. This software is growing almost as fast as the prototype you'll make.
Clients are unsure how products will appear on mobile so we solve this by prototyping it live.
Boards, allowing users to move art boards to different phases of the design process.
Screen overlays sometimes don't act the way I want
High fidelity mockups for a SaaS application.
