Easy & quick analysis of same day performance with clear visuals that are easily customizable
Would love to have more pre-built reports (e.g. demographic or age splits)
Understanding how different sources and channels affect our sign up volume
I must consider and feel at ease with Mixpanel because it performs an excellent function in terms of reports, sales, live visualization and everything related to the characteristics of the software. In a nutshell I want to say that it is a very commercial program and that it adapts very well to work and my clients. Its integrations is something that I highlight of this program because it synchronizes with many platforms without any setback. In turn it is easy to use and the user feels at ease.
There is no internal capacity that allows clients to be instantaneously. In addition, its interface, although it is very understandable, does not scale well in terms of appreciation and colors. However it is a program with very good functionality.
We use Mixpanel to achieve our objectives at marketing levels and funnel conversion of our platforms. In addition to this, we use it to have an extremely important data visualization to have a correct appreciation of our products and what happens in the environment. We can definitely have an excellent purpose and a totally solid tool in our marketing department.
This platform provides incredible analytical solutions. You have an option that is fantastic, to track how often you click on a particular link. It also has a flowchart so you can verify user activities. In addition to everything mentioned above it is free even if we talk about websites where traffic is high. Mixpanel has a very receptive team that helps me when I have a problem and strives to solve it as soon as possible.
Integration with other analysis applications does not work as it should. It would be better if the integration were intuitive, since that would help the tool work well. The system is also a bit complex, so you need to deepen the tutorials to learn how to use it and master them well.
We use this Mixpanel throughout the company. The sales team is delighted with this tool because it allows you to see which products and their characteristics are the most used. With this you have an idea of is being done well and what needs improvement. Mixpanel has also managed to help us have better control of the company's website, since we can see the exact number of clicks, visitors and comments. User comments directly from their actions are very valuable to us.
It has a lot of different options to setup campaigns, and very UI friendly to create message setups
Their SMS seems to not work very intuitive and harder to manage/update
CRM consumer messaging through varies channels
I love how easy is to set up profiles and send events with properties programmatically (we use PHP and JS SDKs) and your Python SDK to manage and pull large amount of data is also brilliant. Other great thing is your active ticket support system.
I feel like users cohorts could be filters in more views (I often felt limited). Also we would like to have better control over exporting the reports from the interface.
We have a browser extension that shows voucher codes. Properties and super properties are a life saver.
intuitive interface and advanced data capabilities
Mobile app implementation is surprisingly complex, and the documentation is too dev-focused
A better understanding of user behavior, and really easy behavior based campaign testing
The in product analytics are great. Users are able to create customer funnels and track specific user behavior from marketing website to app
There was issues with the accuracy of the data and user behavior.
Mix Panel does provide us with insight into how users are engaging with our product down to the event level. You have the ability to track behavior from a specific page, to plan, to geo location.
The ability to view segments, filter them according to conclusions and then view any property is super useful.
The service is overpriced, at the 2 last companies I worked at my budget didn't allow me to use MixPanel as I wanted
I use it for game design, by learning about the behavior of my players I am able to fine tune features.
The tools gives you the ability to Understand every user's journey, Analyze each interaction across the full customer journey . Allows us to customize the costumer funnel
Problem differentiating between 'real' and 'spam' clicks sometimes. It can treat bot as if it was a user. It's not easy to compare two different funnels to one another
It give the option to understand and adjust the user overall flow in the system. Allows for segmentation
I like the layout and that its user friendly and that it provides useful insights
I don't know much about the other features it offers
We use it to see where our leads come from
Of course, the best thing about Mixpanel is the amount of data you can collect about your users or clients and all the different ways you can look at it.
What I dislike most when it comes to Mixpanel is the interface and the way the statistics and data is shown. For me, it's not graphical and friendly enough, but I do believe that this is the preferred way for many who are into numbers and data crunching.
With Mixpanel you get a better insight into the performance of either your sales funnel or your app. We use it to analyze and track user behaviour, activity and retention, although it is probably even more suited for sales.
Our team uses MixPanel to log user actions from our app. It's useful to see what our users have been doing when troubleshooting their accounts.
The way that events display makes it super time consuming to locate specific actions. I would really like to see events be more sortable, cross referenced, and cross linked.
Logging our user actions
Mixpanel helps us to know our website visitors and this information is useful for us to improve our website as per visitors behavior. It is little similar to google analytics but in mixpanel we can customize our tracking events based on our own requirement. Mixpanel has almost all features and algorithms which are needed for analytics and visitor tracing needs for websites.
Nothing so far but we can expect a good improvement in prospect of tool enhancement. Also remember, its little expensive not free like google analytics.
We use mixpanel to capture our visitors activities on our website and based on that activities we modify or add features to we website so we can know that what visitors/customers like the most on our website. Its better then google analytics in customization point of views.
I like that the interface is very intuitive and easy to use.
I hate having to figure out how to use analytics.
Finding out what articles and pages are doing best so I know what to post about.
With Mixpanel, we're able to send emails and messaging from triggers when events occur. It's really useful for customer journeys.
It requires a lot of understand and planning before getting your mixpanel setup right.
Product messaging and in-app event notifications.
Mixpanel has a lot of capabilities for tracking web events and does so in real-time. It's also relatively easy to create custom events that are specific to your site and business goals. In addition, the tracking of these events is retroactive- so if you create an event today, the data from yesterday still exists for that event which is really helpful, and isn't something offered by other tools like google analytics.
Mixpanel is not intuitive from a user's perspective at all. I work at a media company where a lot of non-technical people need to be able to access and understand our analytics platforms and Mixpanel is extremely difficult for them to grasp.
Despite the aforementioned challenging UX, the customization really has helped our business. For example, we are a B2B media company so we care deeply about the "quality"of our traffic - meaning we want high-level business executives reading our articles, not just anyone. We are able to easily integrate this information from our ESP with Mixpanel to be able to tell us this information. It's funnel feature is also excellent for tracking landing page conversion rates.
I like where this company is headed. It provides very comprehensive analytics... but it's not free.
The service was quite costly for me to use
understanding my customers better
Easy to setup Powerful funnels User properties and events
Lacks some features with emailing (templates, advanced conditional tests) Pricing per whole database users rather than active users monthly for example No exportable dashboard
We change how people meet and work together during meetings. With mixpanel we know better how our users uses our solution, when they lacks attention or engage. It helps monitor the efficiency of our new features and improvements on existing ones
The data is grouped by user, so you can easily track user behavior.
Very often, the data makes no sens when tracking a Funnel like the onboarding, etc... It gets messy and it's hard to understand. Their marketing automation solution does not work well : emails get sent sometimes randomly, the triggers fail to be detected also...
For the privous mobile apps I managed.
Mixpanel is powerful and flexible analytics solutions, that can be implemented in any kind of web based environment. I personally appreciate that with this single tool I can track literally ever online activity of our consumers.
To properly implement Mixpanel you need to have well skilled developer. It is not a self-service app.
Revenue and ROI tracking, consumer funnel tracking and optimization.
I like the simply way that mixpanel give to the developers to be integrated everywhere, both in application and in website. The api is well documented and with this website you are able to get all information you need. The design of the application is good.
I think that some useful api are missing. e.g: you're not able to remove an alias by yourself. I think that allow users to create more powerful queries from the application should be implemented, now is quiete restrictive.
With mixpanel you can track every single user, I use this feature to understand how to comunicate with users
The support works really well. They are always willing to help, answering in less than a day. And comparing to the competence, Mixpanel offers cool features like easy A/B testing and in-app surveys.
The price of the product when you grow in users is too high. For a startup it is difficult to afford it.
We are using Mixpanel as app-analytics tool. Funnels, retention tables and surveys are helping us to analyze customer reaction to the changes in our product.
Cohort analysis tools are best in class, funnel tools are satisfactory, easy setup.
UI is heavily biased towards recently checked events; hard to export and re-import data; impossible to modify data in-place. While it hits all the basic checkmarks, competitors seem to be outpacing them on adding newer features.
Used for conversion optimization within our company and for basic business intelligence. Allows non-engineers to explore data in an ad-hoc manner.
Mixpanel is a really good tool if you want to know user specific interaction or know overall event specific interaction. We are able to use it for AB testing by creating specific reports based on the events, clicks, pages we are testing. It has some really good reporting if you know the specific events and interactions you are looking for.
There is not a way to see the most common path users are taking to a specific event. There have been several time where we wanted to know what people were doing before an error occurred and we could not get that information.
We want to know what people are doing and see how that changes after we implement a feature.
The UI and feel of the product is terrific.
Actually getting the tracking set up is a bit cumbersome as every event needs it's own .js tag.
We're trying to see who goes where and does what on our client acquisition funnel.
My primary use for Mixpanel was intraday statistics for eCommerce, for which Mixpanel did provide accurate and up-to-date information. However, report generation was not necessarily intuitive and it was not easy to generate free-standing reports that would automatically be updated or emailed daily. In short, great tool to get quick snapshots but not as useful as a complete data analytics suite.
Not very easy to generate reports, save report views, or automatically email reports or dashboards daily.
Great for viewing data on a minute-by-minute basis within a given day, something that is not readily available through Google Analytics, but not as intuitive or easy to use.
What I like most about Mixpanel is the ability to track our site conversion data in real-time. We are then able to gather data, analyze the data, and make site and/or campaign optimizations in a timely manner. This helps us greatly improve efficiency and ROI.
What I disliked about the tool was the lack of exporting capabilities. I would have liked to export some data to excel and merge findings with some of my other files, however I found this difficult or impossible in some instances.
I found that I was able to adjust our online campaign spending in real-time based off of key learnings via Mixpanel, thus increasing business efficiency and freeing up additional dollars for other company endeavors.
The fact that you can track basically every action/event that occurs on the platform, as well as easily analyze notification stats.
A few bugs have occurred here and there, but not too many.
We're using Mixpanel to help increase platform interaction, as well as enhancing our email marketing.
I use MixPanel anytime I'm trying to track user behavior through a series of events. The funnels are detailed, easy-to-read, and most importantly, simple to show and explain to those less familiar with analytics tools. The customer service is phenomenal. I was used to other analytics tools (my clients tend to like big-name tools that they have exposure to like Google Analytics), and decided to give MixPanel a try. Within a week of setting up an account, I went through a live demo of how to use it. Anytime I had a question or trouble with some bug, I got a quick response. And this was without putting any money down to start!
I conduct SEO and SEM audits on websites, build a strategy for whatever their goal is, and then leave behind the tools they need to take over. MixPanel is not like MOZ or KISSmetrics where I can leave simple instructions and someone on the team can pick up where I left off. They're always rolling out new features, and the interface can feel cluttered or confusing. It's also mostly the tool I turn to for funnels - if I'm trying to track something more complex, I'll probably try MOZ first. As far as A/B testing, I pretty much always turn to Optimizely out of habit. But, I'm starting to play around more with the mobile A/B testing tools MixPanel offers, and I have to say, they're solid.
I started using MixPanel to track how users engaged with newly launched sharing features on a social e-commerce platform. Now I use it mostly to see how users respond to new prompts and move through site architecture for a variety of my clients. I've started trying out their new A/B features as well. So far, so good.
SQL assistance. Its nice as a lay person to be able to manage data efficiency.
You still need to have some tech understanding integrate API tracking. Once its done however, I would stand it up to GA.
Attribution funnel and audience loss. We use Optimiely and Mixpanel to work through audience fall off.
