Pictory AI Pros and Cons
- Fast generation from text, URL, PPT and other inputs with minimal editing needed.
- Supports multiple input types and versatile output formats (aspect ratios, 1080p).
- Premium voice integration via ElevenLabs and large voice library including voice cloning.
- Flexible plans with AI credits, team and enterprise features.
- Robust export options: brand kits, captions, custom fonts, logos and avatar support.
- No clear public evidence of fully custom user-likeness avatar creation (beyond stock avatars).
- Lower-tier plans have fewer premium voices, brand kits, video minutes and storage.
- Non-English automatic visual selection and some non-English voice generation capabilities are still in progress.
- Rendering long or avatar videos can be resource-intensive; full renders may take longer.

Ease of use 5 Stars No hours of trying to learn new stuff tutorials.
I did not know this type of application was available at a fair price.
Within a very short time, I am creating videos that stand out.
Was Searching for transcription or Video Captioning Software for a long time. Pictory meet that requirement. 1. Easy to Use 2. Competitive Product 3. Moderate Cost. Looking forward to more features and improvements!
Nothing till now. But, there is an enormous scope of improvements.
1. Text to Video 2. Video Captioning 3. Transcription 4. Video Highlighter
What I like abo8ut it is you can just put together a script and it makes the video for you, had to change alot of the videos and it takes time but it was good. I do like how it flows though, it is smooth.
The voices sounds computerish and not real, I wish they had good ones like Murf.ai does, their voices sound amazing, please get them to that level of awesomeoness!
With videos it is always hard to know what to say in person while doing them, but being able to focus on scripts to video makes it so much easier for sure, and they seem to turn out ok.
Pictory has a friendly, simple and easy-to-use interface. This is exceptionally useful for beginners like me who is venturing into YouTube video production. All the basic functions are within easy reach.
The only downside for me is the price. It's a little on the high side. And I would prefer that the company comes out with a downloadable program rather than sticking to a cloud-based system. There is a sense of security and ownership when we have something tangible in our hands, especially those who are paying for the licence.
The hassle of finding my own images, slides and music. The all-in-one platform that Pictory offers saves a lot of time. Also with its easy-to-understand AI functions, I can create videos with the least amount of time.
Just the use of the software is simple .
It's a bit expensive compared to other softwares.
Helps me creat cash cow videos faster for my YouTube channel
Artificial intelligence allows us to generate videos around our texts.
The application still has some glitches in the generation of related videos.
Videos in minutes
Shutter Stock Footage and Audios TTS feature is great The transcription functionality is mind-blowing. So many hours are available in the package.
The video editor is great, but there is space for improvement. I dislike that I can't use multiple audio files and BGM for different scenes in the video. Sometimes the AI can be hit and miss for choosing a suitable piece of stock content to support the context. I hope this improves in time.
Pictory is great too for anyone in education or marketing. I've been able to easily create videos out of my blog articles to compliment my marketing. I've found the learning curve quite intuitive, yet I suspect I've not even unpacked 30% of what Pictory can do.
Pictory is an innovative product. I was able to create a course video in a few minutes with the script we had for the course video. What does the platform do really well? ✅Creating short videos from webinars. ✅Convert your blog into a video. ✅Use the script to make an AI video ✅Add Text-to-Speech audio to videos ✅Extract highlights from a long video
What could be improved? 💡Text editing is quite basic. This needs a little attention. 💡Limited ability to format text, change colors, change fonts and line spacing. 💡Limited ability to customize templates. Give us a bit more power to customize. 💡It would be great to have us highlight keywords for AI to pick up scenes/stock videos. 💡Ability to keep the TTS in audio but should not be on video display if we choose to. 💡Ability to at least have your assistant or a couple of team members to do the job for/with you. 💡Sharing passwords is a no-no! Make it easy for us to collaborate please. 💡It would be great to have a video player online for the link rather than just allowing us to download it.
Course/Explainer video creation
We just started with YouTube and podcasting. Pictory provides transcribe features very well. Really accurate compared to others. Also, it's very user friendly. We have some people in our team who are not "tech" person and Pictory can be used on 3 clicks max. Just upload a video or text then transcribe and that's it. Upload it to YouTube and done. Published. No more headaches. Also, voice over. You can even upload or record your voice for a selected video. Also missing some integrations. There is no option to publish a video directly via native integration.
Fetching and downloading a video takes a lot of time. Normally about 30 min. - 1h. This is quite a lot. Also, some voices sound very robotic. I prefer to use our natural voice rather than Pictory voices because when you are listening to it it's honestly like a robot. Also, they could add more languages than English. Multiple brands would be also great. We have 4 companies and we can manage 1 brand under 1 account. Also, more options for editing a video would great too.
We needed to transcribe features mostly. Pictory helps us transcribe our video, add subtitles and publish at our eCom site or YouTube. We mostly use Pictory for our courses in the fitness industry. People who don't speak English can easily watch it and learn.
From the time VIdnami is gone from my life, I have been looking for an alternative, I see pictory is something (which if they keep doing the good work) has the potential to become peoples go to; Please read the following to make a choice PROs: Accuracy of speech to text is great. Filler words removal Captions burn in option 10 hours transcription for tier 1 and so on text to video is great.
CONs: in ability to correct a whole sentence or paragraph, you have to go word by word (sometimes when it catches multiple words wrong, its better to write a whole sentence and feed it there instead of doing one by one) their text to speech is not that great yet. inability to change the duration of the scenes no animations or stylings for captions. (it will be a super creative idea if you guys can add animations or styling to captions believe me)
I am doing professional transcription services and subtitling, so it helps me in it.
It takes all of the hard work out of creating short videos from long-form content in just minutes.
Background music needs to have control to lower volume. AI needs to improve the selection of the image, video to better match the written content.
I don't know about you, but I'm tired of the same old content. With the rise of social media, it's time for something new and exciting. Pictory allows you to create short videos up to 20 minutes long in just a few minutes. Hence, you save time, money, and effort.
Pictory is mindblowingly good at everything it does. I particularly like the article to video feature along with the premium images and sound. AI is already good and I can only imagine it getting better with use.
It would be great if the AI could pick up my tastes and style and curate specifically for me. I know this is a big feature request but hey considering they have already delivered a product which I thought we will only get to see in 2022, my hopes are solid.
Videos for online classes in a fraction of the time.
I like the voice overs and video creations from text
The audio synchronization is a mess. It took me so long to do that.
I used it to make content for my YouTube channel.
I love the Descript-style "edit video by editing its transcript" function. Of all the 4 tools in the SaaS, this one is the most useful. This brings me to the transcription limits, which are pretty generous compared to offers from other software in this field. This feature is the primary time-saver when editing dialogue-heavy clips. Simply look at the transcripts at a glance and I know what to remove. This saves me from scrolling through the timeline to find what I need to edit out. The transcripts are a great bonus for me as we sometimes need to have subtitles. Although, we mainly need a translated subtitle, and there are no reliable auto-translators right now. Still helpful in the occasions where we need to get transcripts. (Which we did on a recent project: export transcript and used a TTS program to read the transcript).
The other features need a lot more work. AI-to-video (from article url or text) often select static images from its stock library OR chooses unrelated image/footage. I had to replace almost every single asset to make the output usable. This completely defeats the purpose of an AI-generated video.
I wanted to use this to speed up my video workflow when it comes to dialogue-heavy video editing and also wanted to get some quick short video clips from the AI tools.
The voice rendering is ok, but there is a lot of editing involved to generate anything remotely tangible and add value to the business.
Customer Service rep is an A-Hole - not get US culture and its idioms and vernacular variations. Instead of diffusing the situation by solving the issue, they go on the defensive, and that is an obvious sign of poor training of the outsourced provider that Pictory is using. Shame on Pictory and its seed round investors for not keeping an eye on a delicate matter that can affect user onboarding due to negligent customer support. If you (Pitcotory) charge over 23 USD per month, there better be support to authenticate the browser cache issue when using the Google Sign-in feature, especially when multiple accounts can be used. Instead of deflecting and absconding from the user issue, the company and its outsourced Customer support take a stance of absolute and sheer ignorance. That is an F'n A-hole thing to do, especially in this day when there's a ton of competition that is eating Pictory's lunch.
I thought I was going to be able to craft and put to production customized marketing tangibles faster, but it turns out that the automation makes the problem worse. Much editing is involved in achieving any market-ready visuals that generate impact.
