Competitor Intelligence & Optimising traffic with existing partners
The product is too expensive. The price needs to come down
Sourcing new traffic opportunities
I am a big fan of the comprehensive reviews of companies apps and websites via Similar Web. I love that it comes up with different new features every now and then too.
Limited users feel like I would have to always recalibrate the users and review.
Problems - Understanding why our customers may have uninstalled the apps and benefits -- seeing other apps and industries similar to ours.
Traffic sources, volume, engagement metrics, newly added segment/conversion analyses. Generally, this is the best market intelligence tool available. Works perfectly well for due diligence purposes, but I use it every day for pretty much all market research analyses. What I also love about this product is a team behind it. One of the best communication services, great feature updates, amazing content produced. Most requests and queries solved within few hours. Creme de la creme of SaaS companies.
I think keywords analyses might be more robust, e.g., there are no click-through-rates or spend estimations. I know this is not a SEO/SEM tool, but if you combine it with traffic, conversion data you could very easily run impact calculations. I think this is the ultimate direction. Sometimes traffic data tends to be a little off the actuals, even by an order of 2-3x, so if you're working a lot with clients who know their data well, it might be challenged. I also suggest to push for iOS apps analyses, as currently there is only Android. Your competitor Apptopia has it, so probably it's good to copycat and use within SW scale. Also, Google Docs API can be even more robust, e.g., to allow for more custom downloads for non-code people.
1. Market analysis 2. Due dilligence 3. Offering 4. Pricing page analyses 5. Market benchmarking
The simplicity of the user's interface and support.
It can not (as I understand) show the traffic based on website's IP address.
We are fighting digital piracy, and using SimilarWeb to monitor mentioned websites' traffic before and after DNS blocking. We have realized that traffic numbers are quite accurate.
Similar Web Pro is constantly developing and adding new functionalities, that significantly improve the quality of my everyday work.
There's nothing major that I'd point out. Even if you don't like how something works, you can always get in touch with your account admin. They always value your feedback and will help you solve the issue.
Nowadays I use it mostly to review particular websites. On the basis of the info (like traffic, or geo) given me by Similar Web, I decide if the business is worth working with. I also use it, on a smaller scale, to generate new leads.
I enjoy looking at the keywords and competitors. very valuable for our line of work. The ability to quickly generate usage reports is very helpful.
The Website Technologies section is extensive but I have noticed it is incomplete when comparing results against Ghostery. Still very helpful but being incomplete is a tad disappointing.
There are many problems in our line of work but primarily: how many users visit the websites how users get to the websites what is the competitive landscape what technologies are websites using We are easily able to paint a picture of website behaviours that we can report to our managers and members
The quality of leads found have helped me successfully recruit partners for my clients. I am constantly using the provided site's data and competitive landscape information to show clients that we are finding the best possible prospects. Overall, SimilarWeb's user-friendly platform has helped me tremendously within my role as a Business Development Manager.
There isn't much I dislike about SimilarWeb, but I do wish our agency could be able to utilize the keyword search functionalities that do not come with our selected package.
SimilarWeb has helped us streamline leads list (prospecting). The benefit of being able to download lists and upload to our CRM has proven that SimilarWeb Pro's solution is extremely efficient for affiliate marketing.
Being able to benchmark our website against the competitors is invaluable. We can check our competitors' traffic data month by month. How much traffic do they get from which channel. We can see which keywords they are receiving traffic from. We get very useful insights about our competitors' strategies and reveal new opportunities for both our SEO and SEM investments.
App analysis section is the only part where we find lacking. Most of the time there are not enough data to get useful insights, especially for Apple App Store.
We compare our website traffics with our competitors. If their traffic is growing faster thas us then we realize that they are doing something better than us so we are checking what they do to grow their traffic through Similarweb's various website analysis capabilities and change our SEO or SEM strategies accordingly.
I like the competitive insight to really see what others in the industry are doing.
You have to pay for longer time periods of data.
None really. It’s benefited me to write better ad copy.
The international web traffic features.
I wish I could do a deeper search of partnering companies for the websites I search.
Website data analytics and future initiative planning.
Good user interface for users. Very detailed analysis of your company & competitors
I still remain a little skeptical of the accuracy of the data
An alternative to Google Analytics
The interface makes super easy to peak into the digital marketing strategy of any website or app.
The accuracy can sometimes be misleading, but when used for comparison or benchmarking its great.
Competitive market intelligence.
I love that I can see how many page views a site has per month as well as other baseline analytical data regarding their site
Sometimes websites don't show up in the extension and it can be challenging to not get all of the applicable data
I'm able to quickly qualify the leads we talk to based on their websites and how they produce content.
SImilarWeb offers an inside look into analytical information on websites and competitors. From a PR perspective, it's incredibly helpful in gauging outlet circulation and unique visitors. It also allows you to track how well your brand's website is doing versus competitors and includes keywords that users are looking for.
I would like the opportunity to download the data. It would also be helpful if it offered additional context on what different data sets meant.
I use it mainly to track engagement on different media outlets, however I find it fascinating to compare a brand's websites with competitors.
The chrome extension is fantastic. It's made for speed and the data is accurate enough to provide insight. The visual breakdowns are very, very easy to digest quickly -- which is important for me while prospecting. Customer engagement data and tracking traffic is itself so easy to work through on the dashboard.
Nothing really so far. The PPC spend figures in the extension would be nice. The dashboard is not as quickly navigable as some competitors.
Quick prospecting, monitoring customer engagement on client and prospect websites, and having more knowledge makes it useful.
