I have been using the list feature, where I can drop a bunch of domains I have saved for sales targeting. With just a click of a button, I get all the relevant information I need. Additionally, the ease of adding appropriate columns and exporting makes it even more useful
I had a support issue, and while they got back to me the first time before 24hours I am still waiting to get a reply for 2 days now. Would have also expected to have a live chat.
To find information about domains. The player loads, page views, demographics and the trends. Getting that informatino with a click of a button is saving me a lot of time.
The level of visibility it provides into competitors.
Date ranges are limited and the amount of competitor comparisons are limited. Graphs often don't plot the logged in user
Keyword analysis and prioritization
Data coverage & analyses Peers metrics analyses
not relevant for small websites, add-ons expansives
Peers Comparaisons and KPIs
SimilarWeb is a valuable tool for anyone looking to better understand their competitors performance and traffic. It provides helpful data in a extremly user friendly interface.
1. Data can be less accurate for smaller websites 2. Data in not easily downloadable in Excel or Powerpoint i.e. when downloading data in Excel it changes the metrics to general ones such "< than x" instead of the acutal numbers
Similar web is the only tool that is able to provide accurate competitor information about their website performance and keep track of their digital strategy. It's a key tool for any brand that is looking to grow and understand their competitor landscape
It's very complete, allows to get data from different time periods and differente countries
Sometimes I find that it's hard to know where to go when you're looking for a specific analysis. Having an integrated AI in the plaform where you explain what you need and it directs you would be awesome!
It allows be to see what competitors are doing in our space, and also areas where we are underperforming and that we can invest more
Similarweb is a fantastic tool for researching competitors in a particular market and gaining valuable insight into traffic sources. With it, I could quickly identify potential problems with a client's website without needing access to its analytics tools. Additionally, it's excellent for understanding industry trends. I couldn't recommend this tool enough!
The downside of Similarweb is that it is not cheap. Although the proportions of the data it displays are accurate, the specific traffic numbers do not always reflect the actual situation.
It's great to help us build a sales pitch for a potential client, especially when we don't have access to its analytics tools or advertising accounts. We are also using it to gain insight into the competition in a specific market.
We are using similar web to sketch the competitor field of our clients and the opportunities for new markets and channels. It helps to provide additional insights we can include in our monthly and quarterly meetings to add extra value to the analysis.
As of now I do not dislike functionalities. We get closely updated by our channel account manager about new features and with how-to's. I can imagine the tool can be overwhelming for first time users.
It brings together insights from different aspects of the campaigns both paid as organically as put in comparison to the biggest competitors. We can use data directly from Similar Web to present to our clientele.
Very easy to use and intuitive. Easy to navigate the data and easy to do fast comparisons between yourself and competitors. Provides a great starting place for competitive insights and analysis as a great complement to other tools.
They tease a lot of the premium features. I get it, but it can be frustrating to click on something that looks exciting and then not be able to get it. Wish it had more complete display ad data - most of the time it has nothing of use.
It gives us a sense for how our competitors are doing compared to us and how they are gaining traffic.
The site is user friendly and the most helpful feature of SimilarWeb we use is the website analysis. This is about as real time competitor research you can get with good charts and graphs for visuals. We've been using Similar web now for about 5 years and its really been worth the investment.
Not the price but what you get with certain plans when you pay for the service. Something we are locked out of that go hand in hand should seem accessible.
It solves competitor market analysis and helps locate new business. We're able to closely monitor competitors in terms of SEO, SEM and APP markets if necessary.
I can get deep knowledge of how my targeted companies are performing just with 1 click.
I would also like to have info about revenue too.
Solving the problem of targeting the small companies and spend my time if there is no value.
The user interface is intuitive and the data provided is extremely useful, whether it's Search, Web Visits, or competitive creative.
Longitudinal data isn't always accessible in the longer timeframes required for advanced analysis.
Performance data cross a wide variety of competitors.
The most helpful feature of SimilarWeb in my job is the ability to make competitor research quickly using great visuals. I really like that I can compare many websites and see results over different periods.
The only drawback, in some rare cases the data might not be available if the website is too small or if it's not in the SimilarWeb's system. Also, in some cases specific information like traffic only from mobile devices are not available.
SimilarWeb allows me to do quick competitor research across pretty much all digital marketing channels and compare this data to other websites over a long period of time.
Competitor traffic understanding, its sources, and consequently its quality. Creative assets also help the team understand better and take action accordingly.
Not much, as they now have app data too.
Competition actions benchmarking, and user acq. sources.
User Interface , User experience, modular, API capabilities
Some times too much info to digest and draw conclusions
Website traffic trends, correlation with other internal KPIs, data feed to internal system, market knowledge
the application of the platform outside of the digital space. it's super easy to jump into the platform and look for something to support of challenge a strategy. audience insight, site insights, overlaps etc..
very little to be honest. sometimes find the navogation complex if i haven't used it for a while. and the google / android only app limitation is a shame (this is an apple thing not SW obv)
strategic development. i use SimilarWeb to find trends in consumption, audience details, overlap info. also to identify where 'gaps' might be - is the client problem actually a UX issue for example.
Competitive information that helps us to understand where we stand at and design special communication to tackle it!
Lead time for the data to be updated monthly which might not have enough time to counter the strategies planning.
Live time dashboard that helps us to get topline numbers.
Ease of use, you can find the data you need to understand website stats- acquisition, etc. from competitors.
Helpful- insight, data, easily digestible stats Downside- cost is higher
Competitive intelligence- primarily in on page monetization and user acquisition
SimilarWeb has allowed us to peer behind the curtain of our competitors' actions and see what strategies are working for them. The keyword tools also help us to identify keywords before they spike and tailor our content to match.
The only downside of SimilarWeb is the cost. It's a little pricey for what you get and represented a big commitment for a company our size. Overall, though, the cost has been worth it.
SimilarWeb is helping us to monitor competitor growth on both web and social, peek into their strategies, and see what platforms and keywords are working for them. It also allows us to compare ourselves and see where we can make gains.
Similarweb allows us to have a vision of the evolution of our eco system by market with in-depth analyses of the acquisition levers, which allows us to decide on the actions to take.
The only negative point is that the data update frequency is rather late for the analysis of the previous month.
Similarweb allows us to have a precise view per market of the acquisition levers activated by our competitors.
The analytical and research tools that help monitor category keywords, competitors, display ads, and sp much more!
The platform can be a little overwhelming when first on-boarding
Gathering competitor and category insight to guide business strategy
