Easy to get data relevant for how a website is performing and easy to compare across sites
Sometimes hard to find the data needed on the dashboard/pages
It allows users to find out how websites are performing across the competitive set and it can be useful to make predictions about performance and engagement from the past into the future
I like the web interface and the format of the downloads that come out of the tool, I also like how many websites are covered by their data. I like the SEO stuff that theyve recently added as well.
Sometimes combining websites into 1 view can be a bit of a pain. Also, in my industry we are more interested in a very specific segment for these websites, for example Kroger.com/liquor instead of just kroger.com. So, maybe give a little more thought into how best to serve people like me.
We are interested in how to best optimize our peer websites for growth and similarweb is helping us to figure out similar websites that we know are achieving higher sales than the one we are trying to help and we can diagnose why this is.
amazing service. account managers are always there to answer questions with in a few hours. the tool is easy to use with lots of usecase, instructions and guides
some features requires users to do a few more steps to get the complete data. challenging to manage others accounts as admin. lengthy process to get some segment data.
competitor data and how other sites are doing. it is helpful to see what is trending and what other sites are doing
Depth of data in terms of competitor analysis, ad spends and search behaviors.
I think it's competition mapping (algo to automatically pick competition) should be smarter and should also have a powerful recommendation engine which would suggest what trends I should look at based on my data analysis behavior. (application of AI?)
Understanding competitive landscape, social media trends, ad channels used in the marketmarketplace, and traffic trends.
Slick tool, easy to use and plenty of insights. Provides data to identify opportunities, gaps and trends
Overall great tool, but would be ideal with more mobile/all platform data rather than just desktop data. More granular regional data would also be helpful.
Provides data to help with research
Similarweb is easy to use, have high coverage of companies and it gives great insights on many data points like traffic on websites and app, marketing channels, installs and downloads etc.
Sometimes the percentage data is inaccurate and there is not na option to add more than 5 companies at a time.
It has great insights on various apps and website metrics, which helps in analysing the companies' apps and websites' performance, incoming traffic, coverage, and penetration.
Similarweb is a comprehensive and powerful web analytics and competitive intelligence platform, I find it extremely useful for tracking competitor website traffic, audience, and marketing performance for performance improvement.
While the data through similarweb is good in a directional sense, sometimes for specific insights I find the data to be questionable, especially granular data at a brand level.
Similarweb data has been useful to track competitors' performance and identify opportunities to improve my our performance. This has helped us to stay ahead of the competition.
Competitor insights are incredibly valuable and the traffic analysis is far easier to use than GA.
Additional features and tools come at a premium price/are add ons.
We are able to see how different competitors are capitalizing on different channels. This helps us identify where we should and should not spend our advertising dollars.
SimilarWeb is a superbly intuitive tool for accessing a rich variety of web engagement and traffic metrics. We utilized the tool to build a range of statistical models to assess the popularity and performance of several digital media businesses. We were blown away with how fast and easy the tool was to use, and how quickly we were able to pick it up. The datasets were complete and up to date, and provided us with new analytical angles for web data that many alternatives fail to provide. When support was needed from the SimilarWeb team, we were thoroughly impressed with their promptness and their helpfulness. We truly enjoyed our experience with the tool, and look forward to using it again in the future!
While the SimilarWeb dashboards and datasets were intuitive to use once we were up and running - we had some difficulties with getting our initial website sets and data established. Further support for new users to create their initial queries and with their first analysis could be beneficial to enable more users to take full advantage of SimilarWeb's capabilities.
We were attempting to build machine learning-driven models that assessed web engagement data for various digital platforms in order to predict future company and financial performance.
Similarweb is good with real-time KPIs for most websites and apps.
Missing some apps that have fewer downloads.
Tracking KPIs for various investments and finding new investments
The amount of valuable data that is available in this tool. The comprehensible dashboards make the analysis part of our job much more manageable. All the features and metrics in SimilarWeb makes it stand out against other platforms.
At the moment, the only downside is the fast accessibility to the metrics documentation. While most of the metrics are clearly explained as you use the platform, some of them need more of a technical description regarding where or how it is calculated.
It has helped us achieve a complete understanding and a fundamental intelligence approach to website traffic and, most importantly, on how to optimize our or our client efforts in regards to having a full picture of who are we reaching and where are we positioned in comparison to our competitors.
As a PPC manager, I find SimilarWeb invaluable when exploring new industries, markets or even just refreshing my keyword lists. It's great for gap analysis, keyword research and competitor monitoring. I've used market intelligence tools before and what really makes Similarweb stand out is their customer support. Their agents are always quick to respond to help requests and regularly ask for feedback on upcoming features and betas, which really make me feel like a valued customer.
Some of the reports don't show up to date results, they're often up to a month behind which makes proactivity difficult. And there's no forecasting features, which granted is more difficult than reporting on past metrics, but it would be useful to have even estimates of what could happen in the coming months based on all the past data in the system.
I work in quite a niche industry and Similarweb helps me to find competitors, keywords and even audiences that I may not have otherwise considered. In the last few months, I've brought down my cost per acquisition more than 100% by using Similarweb for audience and keyword discovery.
There's no end to the useful data we're able to pull out of Similarweb on our competitive landscape. We monitor a sizable group of competitors on a quarterly basis, and are able to identify trends in their audience size, time spent on site, and duplication of audience between our site and competitor sites. We also look at sources of traffic to their sites, advertising channel activity, and creative units. We've been able to make changes to our strategy that have delivered positive business results based on Similarweb information.
It takes training a good number of hours to pull together all the information we need. It would be great if they had off the shelf competitive reports that they could offer at certain price points for organizations that don't have the manhours to dedicate to using the tool.
We're able to look at our marketshare and how it changes over time. We can see who is gaining or losing market share in our category and observe their approaches to marketing and make changes to our test plan to determine if these would work for our busines.
Helpful for tracking our site's KPIs against our competitiors
Automated reports are still limited, some of the metrics are not available
Getting insight into how competitors are doing vs us, and how we can learn from their successes
User friendly. Direct answers when support is requested. Tailor experience.
Marketing and spamming has increased taking the business part connection to a different level.
Market and competitors insigths
Provides a very easy to use interface, which show a clear view on what's happening in our marketplace so we can make informed decisions around where and when to invest
Sometimes data can be confusing where it contradicts what we're seeing in our own data. There are elements that are useful but perhaps need to be made clearer what they actually show
How and where to invest our paid media spend. What are our competitors doing and is it actually working? Where can we win and where should we be careful when investing
It provides great insights that I can leverage in prospecting and sales calls
Sometimes I feel that the UI is a bit confusing. Other than that, it gets the job done.
We use it for gathering insights for prospecting.
SimilarWeb provides really great and customisable insights. There are so many different functions of the site and the charts are incredible. Plus the site is constantly improving.
You can't change the colours of the charts/they are not as customisable sometimes as I would like them to be. Also some of the folders for the websites do not work so we had to upgrade to get around this.
I am able to now track web traffic, including traffic to segments of websites which is really valuable for competitor analysis. I am also able to see where this traffic is coming from which informs campaigns.
Similarweb has a vast array of tools that help evaluate trends and traffic on the web. You can set up custom queries to look at competition, acquisition channels, marketing strategies and website traffic, which can be very useful in determining performance and setting benchmarks. You can choose from a set of dashboards to monitor competition and completely customize it, slicing the data however is relevant to you.
Honestly, it's really just a matter of time availability. There's so much on Similarweb that it takes setting aside and dedicating time to really dive into what's there and pulling information that's relevant for your particular use.
Working in marketing, it's helpful to see trends of where users spend time on the web. You can choose a specific site you are interested in and dive into the particular audience interests of the traffic visiting that site. I use this information to help inform target audiences and placements for the digital campaigns I plan.
Has so many functions and creates a great hub for competitor date. The dashboard is very helpful and very user-friendly.
I wish the basic version had a few more features; the Pro version is a bit pricey.
It saves so much time on competitor research.
