"Excellent Developer Experience"
What do you like best about Atom?

I love how much Atom can be customized to look and work like I want it to. It's got plenty of packages that help to make it an even better code editor. I've tried other code editors, and I really believe Atom is the best.

What do you dislike about Atom?

The editor can be slow at times, and sometimes one of the the packages doesn't behave quite right. But a simple restart of the app usually resolved the issue.

What problems is Atom solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Atom almost every day for both personal and business web projects, generally custom web applications. I usually feel like Atom helps speed up the development process by saving time with various commands and keyboard shortcuts.

"Free and open source text editor, Great for data science project"
What do you like best about Atom?

it is completely free so you no need to worry about pricing. It is developed by GitHub, so you can easily publish your code into GitHub. we can install third-party packages to customize its features and looks. It is a great selection for a data science project, good consistency for R and Python programming languages.it also support other languages like Java, JavaScript, JSON, SQL. Atom has default packages to syntax highlighting for these languages, you no need to install any other package. It has an active huge community, so if you have any dought and issue you can simply post it to the community and you will get a quick response. I is best for small and mediam size projects.

What do you dislike about Atom?

I could not found it very suitable for large and dynamic projects. I feel it is little slowler than other text editors.

What problems is Atom solving and how is that benefiting you?

I develop a business solution for Data analysis.there are several financial reports which needs to be published every week. changes are very frequent in these reports to make several changes into these files was very for me. I developed these reports in a python programming language with the help of Atom text editor. I wrote my complete code in Atom. it is very easy to navigate to project hierarchy and management. also very easy to execute different report directly from Atom.

"Atom - The best text editor"
What do you like best about Atom?

Atom provides a wide variety of packages that makes software development very easy. The packages includes autocompletes for almost every programming language, changing color of file extensions to make it easier to identify them, auto beautify, auto ident, automatic git pull and so on. The list of packages is endless and if you can't find what you need you can make a package of your own! The packages can be made using javascript, it's very usefull and versatile.

What do you dislike about Atom?

I have not yet found any downsides besides the fact that I can't always find a package that i need. Besides that there is nothing else that, in my opinion, needs changing or improvement.

What problems is Atom solving and how is that benefiting you?

Atom is helping by being the default editor for every programming language I use.

What do you like best about Atom?

I love the aesthetics of Atom and how it allows you to easily name and rename folders and files without diving into a Finder pop-up. It's also completely free so no more annoying pop-ups.

What do you dislike about Atom?

It seems a tiny bit slower on start up but otherwise it's just as speedy when using it.

What problems is Atom solving and how is that benefiting you?

Atom is a great environment for developing new applications.

"Atom, an excellent text editor"
What do you like best about Atom?

I love the Atom default coloring scheme. The color scheme significantly increased code readability and makes it easy to differentiate variables and functions, especially if you are writing a large program. I also love shortcuts like CTRL+SHIFT+F which search for a keyword in multiple files at once as well as CTRL+click for multi-line selecting.

What do you dislike about Atom?

I dislike how multiple files are displayed in Atom. I wish there was some way to see a "hierarchy" of all the files you have open.

What problems is Atom solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Atom to code my college assignments as well as for my personal projects. Atom also makes it easy to collaborate with other people using an additional package called Teletype.

"Great IDE for Building in React"
What do you like best about Atom?

Hackability and the option to use various plugins etc. UI is great and intuitive. IDE is helpful but stays out of the way when I need to focus on the code.

What do you dislike about Atom?

So far I haven't come across anything that I dislike about Atom.

What problems is Atom solving and how is that benefiting you?

Need a hackable, intuitive IDE for developing with React and other JS frameworks. The business benefit is the ability quickly to create quality work and expand knowledge and ability while saving time with plugins.

"Atom, the best code editor!"
What do you like best about Atom?

What I like the best about Atom is that Atom is open source, so there's the flexibility of installing themes and plugins to fit you as a programmer or coder. Atom is also a big supporter of Github so, Atom comes in built with Git panel, where you can manage the commits and push's to the repo as well as change branches, all within Atom.

What do you dislike about Atom?

I'd wish that Atom would have more of a cross platform with mobile devices and maybe also on the web. Something else is that, if you install Atom, you have to save all your settings in a drive so if you switch to another computer, you can have all your settings switched over. Would be best if they created a system where you can sign up and it syncs with all your other computers Atom, similar to what Todoist does with syncing themes.

What problems is Atom solving and how is that benefiting you?

The problem I was solving was that, there is a lot of software for coding / programming, however, it costed money and didn't offer much flexibility with the themes and what I can install with the program. With Atom, I am able to install plugins that Atom themselves made, but also the community has made; for example, there is a plugin to have Terminal built in Atom and access it through a simple keystroke as well as adding live reload, make a server, you can even create your own to work with your workflow. It's all customizable so you can edit how you want it to look like and the fonts you want the editor to use.

"Atom should be the go to editor for all web-devs."
What do you like best about Atom?

I like that it's free, and there are tons of plugins that help me do my job better and more efficiently.

What do you dislike about Atom?

One of the big grievances I had was it's slow boot up time, after only installing a small number of plugins.(Less than 5?)

What problems is Atom solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Atom as a text editor, and have found that it is the most easily "replicable," dev experience whenever teaching a new student how to code.
