It is easy to learn to use. I thought myself how to use it. I do some custom drawing that requires me to use online map data, or real time google maps. If you have an active autodesk account with a paid version, map data comes with free of charge.

It has a lot of features that i never use, mainly because i never got the training for it. It is a little expensive for what I only use it for, but i have always been able to do everything i can want and need.

We import a lot of cad files into our main drawing software at my work place. Some times the files are too big to import, so I use Autocad to clean up the files, take out hat i don't need, and bring them down in size.

AutoCAD is just too good. It is one of the best design tool I have ever come across. It features plenty designing functions and tools. Complete detailing of your drawing with excellent output

Cost of purchase is high, but it is still a nice deal looking at the features it entails

Designing complexity has become an easy task

The drawings are constrained in 2D unlike solid works where the dimensions change sometimes by itself.

3D models are difficult to make - I had difficulties doing 3D models , I used to sketch in 2D and copy paste it in Solidworks 3D and do operations .

Shortcuts make it very easy to use and it's user-friendly.

1) AutoCAD is the classic tool that everyone uses and it's hard to work as a designer not knowing this program. The demand AutoCAD puts on your computer operating system is quite high thus requiring you have the best operating components available. It costs a bit more but will ensure smooth operating. 2)The positive impact is that with AutoCAD I am able to make scaled drawings. I like that the files can be shared between various members on a team so that everyone can work on the files. Also, a great feature is that the files can be linked together so that there is no need to go back and make changes to every single file. On the contrary, the AutoCAD permits export as a third party extension such as pdf. A bunch of different softwares permit export as AutoCAD drawing however the exported files accuracy is distorted. 3)The business is predominantly based on making and selecting the best design feature of the products. Most drawings are done on AutoCAD. 4) It is well suited to create drawings with specific dimensions and details to present a clean plan for clients. We use it as a 2D and 3D drawing tool! We use it for our production technical drawings and also for 3D presentation to our customers.It can crash at random times or hangup on large files. The ability to combine multiple tasks in one programmer, such as 2D drawings, 3D renderings, and schedules, is desirable as an architect when efficiency and coordination is key. AutoCAD falls down or less appropriate at this, as it does not have these multiple functions

1) Nothing, everything is just perfect with this software, the only thing I would just say is the performance and compatibility with RAM and the memory you need free on your computer. Also, the updates from AutoDESK are a little tedious and can slow down your performance but you then only need to downgrade your service packs and problem fixed. 2) It crashes all the time and I lose work and have to do it all over again. Also the fact that is a basic app for many people, to work in more specific subjects, AutoCAD is too simple, and there are other apps that can provide other new an advance tools. 3) It is expensive and it takes up a lot of storage space. The license of the program has a high cost and it requires a computer with a lot of memory space in to it. 4) Hatch processing is not good . It is slow and unresponsive at times.

We use AutoCAD for some 2D & 3D layouts and a lot of signal design schematics. As an engineering firm, AutoCAD is very useful for our designs and internal projects. As an Assistant Signal designer, without this software I think I could not work, it is really essential to use this software now in my life for my work, I have presented a lot of drawings for large and small projects by using AutoCAD. It has helped me in various projects and every day I learn more about the tools, which allows me to say that AutoCAD is the best professional quality engineering and architecture program for the design .

variety of tools to use and plenty of tutorials on the internet. Once you have mastered the software it is easy to create complex models in little time.

The things I like best about AutoCad is that easy with which the software handles complicated cut sections and PIDs. The software makes it really easy to edit and make some quick fixes .

The one thing I dislike about AutoCad is the way it treats 3 D models and it's really tough to design a 3d model using AutoCAD.

The drafted drawing generated from AutoCAD are easy to explain to the machine shop operator and also it's easy to teach the operators to use AutoCAD to confirm the dimensions or check for ambiguity in tolerance.

The best thing about the autocad is the availability of the wide variety of express tools which help in constructing the project in a much better way.Another advantage is that we can import SKP file into our recent project making it more reliable.Tool palettes in the menu bar of the autocad helps the user to construct the project in a different way of perception.The presence of Exchange app manager is remarkable in the field of designing and the stuffs used in the same industry.

I haven't found anything till now to dislike,but if you will ask a little flaw of the autocad,i would say it sometime got stuck while running the script,due to which the visual LISP editor doesn't functions in a proper way which may interrupt our work.

CUI,i.e,customize user interface is of the great use which helps an engineer to construct a project with an unique and effective interface.Further,it can be run in the application itself to confirm it's functioning in the company. Various other problems are also solved using this software,such as BIM360, Layor translator which helps the company to deliver to the customer,a better interface along with the various graphic features.

The ability to copy circuits with automatic adjust to new rung is awesome.

This software has so many features that help us become efficient.

I can't really think of anything I dislike. The product is really good.

We do design work so this software really helps us complete our projects on time.

Over the years AutoCAD has become a very sleek and polish product packing tons of features designers now expect as standard for this product. In addition, the help and support knowledgeable is vast and useful in helping users.

With the multiple variations and version of AutoCAD on the market now its difficult to narrow down which software package is most applicable to the end users' needs. Some feature sets are missing from the base program that require you to purchase add-ons that can grow in price quickly.

AutoCAD lets users design and plan an entire project within the software. The level of detail that can be achieved within the application lets projects move smoothly by ensuring all intricacies are laid out within AutoCAD.

Easy to orient, Fast editing, large amount of components in the library. Color difference in the layers. Zoom in and zoom out option. ladder structure setup for schematics. Environment contrast (black model background makes the drawing clear).

Title block setup, Terminal block setup is unnecessarily complicated. More component footprints would help for much faster creation of the documents. Wire number editing is slower than it should. Some standards are missing blocks of some components (it requires manual block creation).

Making schematics drawings. Making layouts of inner control panel. Making cable drawings. Layouts of the machine on the customer floor plan.

I enjoy the convienence of the libraries of steel shapes and fasteners and commands not featured in other AutoCAD

I like having the choice of using hotkeys or GUI to put in commands and precise dimensions at geometry creation.

I dislike having to clear selected geometry before selecting new geometry. It would be nice to be able after completion of a command to have selected geometry automatically clear so that new geometry can be selected and use "P" if I want to retain the previous selections.

We work with primarily 2D layouts with a significant number of arrays for wire routing. Using polyline features works extremely well for rolling up wire totals for costing and quoting.

AutoCad currently offers one of the most powerful experiences when it comes to creating and designing engineering projects. With this program, there is almost nothing you can not design. AutoCad has been able to adapt over the years, improving the interface, making it cleaner and faster, offering almost infinite possibilities.

Learning to use autocad from 0 can be very difficult, it is recommended to do some advanced course to learn all its possibilities. It does not offer as good possibilities of teamwork as other alternatives. Its price can be very high for small businesses. AutoDesk only offers advanced support for people using a Nvidia Quadro graphics card

Once you learn how to use it AuteCAD is a marvelous software. It's easy to make changes and be able to show clients how things will look.

It can be hard to learn to use and it's very expensive as a software.

Being able to modify our own site plans on the spot

I like the elegant layout of the applications. Very nice modeling features that help simplify the process of creating intricate parts.

The price could be louder but it is an industry standard product.

It helps visualise ideas and future products.

Sometimes I would experience lag, not sure if software or university computers causing this

I am prototyping a medical device using CAD. This helps me visualize the prototype better.

AutoCAD has really met my needs for experimental design and is simple to learn how to use. I create Si wafers for microfluidic devices using this software. I also use it for macro devices for laser cutting. It's very easy to use AutoCAD for precise designs.

There's nothing much to dislike about AutoCAD other than that on some laser cutters I have to convert files to an old dxf file type in order to print.

Using AutoCAD I create new macro and micro-fluidic devices to very specific dimensions for research purposes in academia.
