Combining the status page with monitoring under one solution
i dislike nothing about better uptime so far
I used to pay for the status page and Pingdom separately, better uptime helps me save and add new features to our monitoring like cronjob monitoring.
It has a free plan to use and it's enough for small business. I can monitor 10 websites with 3 region and also I can create a status page with using my subdomain.
The Freelancer plan's price is too high.
Better Uptime monitors my websites for me and informs me when something happened to them.
I've been using Better Uptime for a while now and have been very impressed. It was very easy to set up and is very easy to use. I tried other similar offerings but settled with Better Uptime for its stability and ease of use.
Nothing really to dislike. I'm only on the free tier, but this covers everything I need. At first, I thought the pricing was a little high, but having used it I can see it would be value for money.
Compared to my previous onsite monitoring system Better Uptime (being off-site) is far more stable and reliable. I've never missed an alert and have very few false positives.
The focus and depth of the product. Unlike other companies where logging is only a small part of the offering.
It's new software. I had one minor issue, but their support had it fixed within an hour! I wish there was a Winston client, but I may just write one.
They're likely to become my go-to solution for log management - serverless, traditional, everything...
I love Better Uptime's design and ease of use. And when the site crashes, I think it's an excellent feature that they reach you by e-mail, sms or calling. 10/10!
There isn't a feature I don't like, but the live chat (support team) is slow to respond.
Better uptime keeps me aware of crashes on my site. And it helps my team.
So easy to create a monitor with all the features I needed.
Nothing, this was a no-brainer with simple step-by-step instructions.
Better Uptime allows any webmaster or hosting business to quickly and easily know if your website is up! It also allows for phone calls from Better Uptime to notify you instantly if a site goes off-line.
Extremely intuitive and easy-to-use interface. Easy-to-implement monitoring with many possibilities. The status page is excellent and allows you to create more than one. Incident management is also very powerful.
Do not allow any more integrations in the free plan.
Centralized incident management and real-time monitoring. Process optimization and improved incident response time.
It has an amazing UI, and SMS notifications and it monitors any type of system including SMTP, IMAP, servers and domains with their respective response time. Whenever there is an issue the team is notified. You can also connect a custom domain for the statuspage.
It's a little time-consuming to set up all the monitoring services for the different components and it's not that easy to change the design of the status page that is created,
To use several other software to monitor the throughput, the origin requests health, and the responsiveness of the service. It also provides a centralised bugs management system with tagging options which really helpful.
I like the query engine which helps me find logs eaily
More support for Android/Timber logs will be nice
I can see logs from my android app which is deployed on end user devices.
simple page for a status page, everything matters in the page.
not able to monitor 2+ pages. I know it is paid but that makes it sad, although it doesn't effect my use of this site.
it can monitor pages which isn't a feature for me before. When I found out this site I successfully got a status page.
* Setup speed * Customising the status page * Alarm notifications via app, mail, phone, etc. during a downtime * Customisable enough to even evaluate the responses * Custom domain support
* Would be good to have the opportunity to check on JSON responses in more detailed to determine whether a response is good or bad
Monitoring the uptime, but also monitoring now our status pages which do some more in-depth checks. That was all a breeze to set up and we could avoid setting up complex monitoring solutions.
I have tried many status page before, especially the one from Jira and UptimeRobot, unfortunalely the features were not great and the UX horrible. I use betteruptime for my growing business, the ping and hearbeat features really change my dev life, the fact that I can connect everything with Slack or get a call if my services go down is awesome. The nice thing is that for once, even with the free plan you get a nice service to get started.
Price is a bit high for a solo developer, might upgrade when my buisness grown though.
Peace of mind when not manually monitoring services as well as quicker response when an incident occur.
I like the fact that you can setup your monitors and your status page in a very easy and intuitive way.
So far there is nothing to dislike, even the free version is full of features.
Monitor my websites for availability. Before I would need to check them manual or with a small script, but with Better Uptime, I can even check them from different geographic locations.
The way each area you want to use walks you through step by step with ease is amazing. The ability to integrate with other applications is great. I have used many monitoring sites over the years and definitely plan on using this forever. I would definitely recommend this to individuals and will be pushing my boss to look at this site.
There is nothing about Better Uptime that I dislike.
It is helping me have a great status page with lots of integrations and alerting capabilities for my websites.
The quickness of how fast it alerts you do your domain going town through text and email, and if you set it up receiving a phone call
Nothing so far, I just signed up for it a few days ago and i havent used it enough to give an accurate answer
unexpected downtime of my domain and making sure it's accessible at all times
The ease of setting this up, it's team feature (you can post a link in your company slack and people with a company email can just onboard themselves), I like the status page, it is simple and it was quick to setup a vanity domain for it. All in all, one of the better solutions i have used.
It is not that easy to figure out where to setup your own personal notification preferences ( I prefer SMS instead of getting a call), Their automated Phone call is also flagged as spam on my Samsung phone (unfortunate, but not their fault.)
Our web app went down due to a node process crashing, and EC2 autoscaling did not pick it up correctly, so as a layer of security, we added BetterUptime to notify us if it goes down for any reason. I feel more at peace now, knowing that we will be the first to notice if our web app goes down.
The ease of advanced SQL usage is fantastic, and integrations with basically any language and platform make logging a total breeze. The Grafana tie-in is great as well.
Honestly I can't think of that much. Mostly the software still seems young and there are bugs that pop here and there and cause a 400/500 error. For example, creating alerts with duplicate names and then attempting to delete one has caused some requests to error out.
I'm able to keep a super accurate pulse on usage patterns for YourDB across all user bases. I'm more productive and efficient in my workflow due to super easy monitoring.
Heartbeat & monitoring, the service is very easy to deploy and the results are instantly online
Well hard to say... maybe nothing. everything was easy & painless. we could test the system for as long as we need
We needed a simple & efficient monitoring service for our server, BetterUp time is doing it perfectly
How easy LogTail was to set up with Render. Literally got logs streaming in within 2 minutes, and clear, intuitive UI for navigating.
Nothing at the moment, very happy user so far.
Keeping an eye on production performance, with background processes kicking off the whole time it's very important to have visibility in all areas.
I really like that it checks for expired certificates. You can even adjust the time to be alerted for example send me an alert 2 weeks before or even 1 day before. The ability to alert in a Microsoft Teams channel is a bonus. Yes, you can send to an email but sending via Teams is more message friendly. Email and a Teams message are ideally formatted differently.
I dislike nothing. It's perfect for our needs.
We are monitoring a few servers but the most important one is that it can monitor our WOWZA stream. There are specific services for monitoring m3u8 streams and yet better uptime can do it perfectly fine using a simple ping or the standard uptime check for status 200 which is the default.
