Cognism Pros and Cons
- High data quality, including mobile number verification and real-time signals
- Strong GDPR and DNC compliance emphasis (especially for EMEA)
- Wide integrations with major CRMs and sales engagement tools
- API and bulk data (Data-as-a-Service) support
- AI-powered account research and persona building
- Pricing is opaque and primarily quote-based — no published list prices for Standard/Pro
- Credit-based model can be complex for usage forecasting
- Some advanced features (e.g., mobile verification) may be limited to higher tiers or add-ons
- No publicly documented on-premises / self-hosted option
Cognism’s pricing page is headed “transparent pricing, adapted to how your team uses data”. It contains no prices. Not a range, not a starting figure, not a per-credit rate — both tiers end in “talk to an expert”, and both add-ons are quoted too. Its own FAQ explains why: pricing is “personalised according to the product you need, your team composition and how you plan to use the platform.” That is a legitimate enterprise model. Calling the page transparent is a stretch.
- What it is: A sales intelligence platform providing verified B2B contact data, intent signals and CRM enrichment.
- Best for: Sales teams that need mobile-verified European contact data and can run a procurement process.
- Pricing: Not published. Standard and Pro tiers, both including 5 licences. Verified July 2026.
- The honest catch: You cannot shortlist Cognism on price, because there is no price to shortlist on.
What Is Cognism?
Cognism sells verified B2B contact and company data — emails, mobile numbers, job titles and career history — alongside contextual signals like hiring activity, funding rounds, mergers and job changes. It holds 4.5/5 on G2 and 4.7/5 on Capterra and cites more than 4,000 companies as customers.
Three products sit on the page: Sales Prospecting (the Standard and Pro tiers), CRM Enrichment, and Data-as-a-Service for API or bulk delivery. The latter two are add-ons on both tiers, and both are quoted rather than priced.
How Cognism Works
- Two prospecting tiers, Standard and Pro, neither priced.
- Five licences included on each.
- Credits are pooled at account level, not per user.
- One credit unlocks one contact, permanently.
- CRM Enrichment and Data-as-a-Service are quoted add-ons.
- SSO appears in the feature list, tier placement unstated in text.
Cognism Pricing
Captured from Cognism’s pricing page in July 2026. No monetary figure of any kind appears on it.
| Standard | Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Quoted | Quoted |
| Licences included | 5 | 5 |
| Positioning | “Essential prospecting workflows” | “Advanced prospecting workflows” |
| Adds | Company and contact data, firmographic and technographic filters, AI account research, CSV export | Verified mobile data, on-demand verification, intent data, enhanced dashboards |
| CRM Enrichment | Add-on | Add-on |
| Data-as-a-Service | Add-on | Add-on |

What actually decides your cost:
- Nothing on the page will tell you. There is no starting price, no per-licence rate, no credit price and no range. Cognism’s FAQ confirms that pricing depends on “the product you need, your team composition and how you plan to use the platform”, with CRM Enrichment and Data-as-a-Service priced by “subscription structure, usage and delivery requirements”. Budget evaluation time accordingly.
- The credit model is genuinely well designed, though. Cognism states that credits are pooled at account level rather than allocated per user, that one credit unlocks one contact, that viewing costs nothing and already-unlocked contacts cost nothing again, and that the same contact can be used “for prospecting, enrichment and API without additional cost”. Buy once, use everywhere. Against data vendors that charge separately per use case, that is a materially better arrangement.
- Five licences on both tiers means the entry commitment is a team purchase. Neither Standard nor Pro is a single-seat product, so a solo founder or a two-person sales team is buying five licences regardless.
- Pro is about mobile numbers and intent. Cognism’s FAQ describes Pro as adding intent data, on-demand mobile verification and enhanced dashboards. If your outbound motion depends on reaching people by phone, that is the tier — and the difference is worth establishing precisely, since it is the only stated distinction between the two.
- Both add-ons apply to both tiers. CRM Enrichment and Data-as-a-Service are marked as add-ons against Standard and Pro alike, so neither tier bundles them. A full deployment is therefore three separate commercial conversations.
- European mobile data is the differentiator. Cognism’s reputation rests on GDPR-compliant, phone-verified contact data with strong European coverage, which is where it tends to beat US-centric competitors. That is the reason to pay whatever the quote turns out to be.
Who Should Use Cognism
- European outbound sales teams. The clearest case — verified mobile data with a compliance-first posture.
- Teams of five or more. The licence floor makes it a team product by design.
- Companies doing account-based selling. Intent data, hiring and funding signals, and AI persona building.
- Organisations needing CRM hygiene. The CRM Enrichment add-on keeps records current automatically.
It fits poorly for small teams and solo sellers, given five included licences; for buyers who need to compare cost before a sales call; and for anyone wanting self-serve access, which is not offered.
Honest Pros and Cons
Strengths
- Credits are pooled across the account, not siloed per user.
- One credit unlocks a contact permanently — no repeat charges.
- The same contact works across prospecting, enrichment and API at no extra cost.
- Strong European mobile coverage with a compliance-first position.
- 4.5/5 on G2 and 4.7/5 on Capterra across a large customer base.
- Intent, hiring, funding and job-change signals built in.
Limitations
- No prices published anywhere, despite the page’s heading.
- Both tiers require a sales conversation.
- Five licences included means no small-team entry point.
- CRM Enrichment and Data-as-a-Service are unpriced add-ons.
- The Standard-to-Pro difference is described only in general terms.
- No free tier or self-serve trial is offered on the page.
Cognism Alternatives and How It Compares
- ZoomInfo is the largest competitor, strongest on US data and similarly quote-only.
- Apollo.io publishes its pricing and includes a free tier, with a broader sales engagement toolset.
- RocketReach and Hunter are cheaper, narrower contact-finding tools with published rates.
- Seamless.AI competes on real-time contact search.
- Lusha and UpLead target smaller teams with self-serve plans.
- Clearbit, now part of HubSpot, focuses on enrichment rather than prospecting.

The Verdict
Cognism’s product reputation is well earned. Verified mobile numbers with genuine European coverage and a compliance-first posture is the thing it is bought for, and it is a real differentiator against US-centric data vendors whose European records tend to be thin. Ratings of 4.5/5 on G2 and 4.7/5 on Capterra across 4,000-plus companies back that up, and the contextual signals — hiring, funding, mergers, job changes — are the right inputs for account-based selling.
The credit model deserves specific praise, because data vendors are usually where the worst metering lives. Cognism states that credits are pooled at account level rather than per user, that one credit unlocks one contact permanently, that viewing costs nothing and re-accessing an unlocked contact costs nothing, and that the same contact can be used across prospecting, CRM enrichment and the API at no additional charge. Buy once, use everywhere, across the whole team. That is the arrangement a buyer would design, and several competitors do the opposite.
Which makes the page’s framing the one thing to push back on. It is headed “transparent pricing” and contains no price of any kind — no rate per licence, no cost per credit, no starting figure, no range. Both tiers end in “talk to an expert” and both add-ons are quoted separately, so a full deployment involves three commercial conversations before you know what any of it costs. Cognism’s FAQ is honest about the reason, and bespoke pricing is entirely normal at this end of the market. But a page that publishes nothing is not transparent, and buyers should plan for a procurement process rather than a comparison exercise — with five licences as the minimum commitment on either tier.
FAQ
How much does Cognism cost?
Cognism does not publish pricing. Its page shows two Sales Prospecting tiers — Standard and Pro, each including five licences — and two add-ons, CRM Enrichment and Data-as-a-Service, with no figure attached to any of them. Its FAQ states that pricing is “personalised according to the product you need, your team composition and how you plan to use the platform”.
How do Cognism credits work?
One credit unlocks one contact. Credits are pooled at account level rather than allocated per user, so any team member can draw on the shared pool. Viewing records costs nothing, re-accessing an already-unlocked contact costs nothing, and the same unlocked contact can be used for prospecting, CRM enrichment and API access without further charge.
What is the difference between Cognism Standard and Pro?
Per Cognism’s FAQ, Standard is for teams needing reliable contact and company data for day-to-day prospecting, while Pro is for teams needing more advanced targeting and prioritisation — adding intent data, on-demand mobile verification and enhanced dashboards. Both tiers include five licences, and both treat CRM Enrichment and Data-as-a-Service as paid add-ons.
Does Cognism have a minimum number of users?
Effectively yes. Both published tiers state “5 licences included”, so the smallest purchase covers five people whether or not you need that many. There is no single-seat or small-team plan shown on the pricing page, and no free tier or self-serve trial is offered.
Is Cognism better than ZoomInfo?
They differ by geography more than capability. Cognism’s strength is verified mobile data and GDPR-compliant coverage in Europe; ZoomInfo’s is depth in the United States. Both are quote-only, so neither can be shortlisted on price. If your outbound targets are European and phone-based, Cognism is generally the stronger data set — the reverse tends to hold for North American prospecting.

It's brilliant for headhunting, especially directly on LinkedIn with the pop up window
I find that that the full site, is sometimes a bit complicated to navigate, but to be honest, I don't dislike many things
Finding direct contact details of people that I want to reach, without having to go through the switch board
Accurate with mobile numbers and emails. Love the Linkedin app
1.No options for lower value top ups. 2.No option to accurately obtain a count of data before purchasing.
Enabling email and phone outreach
I like that once a cognism campaign is set up, it will automatically do all the heavy lifting for you during the prospecting stage whilst you can focus on closing or meeting other demands of your business.
It can take some time to understand how to make the most use out of cognism especially as there are no online help tutorials (eg creating a list or creating a campaign) .
Cognism is making the prospecting stage a lot easier by automating the mundane task of sending out engagement emails to prospects. This is a very important part of a sales journey, but often the hardest and cognise makes it easier by automating the process.
Its simplicity and its highly powerful search tools and the web browser plugins
sometimes it is hard to distinguish between roles however this is more company based than cognism based
It is allowing me to find decision-makers when gatekeepers and company policy make it hard to reach them
Quick access to customer data which allows me to outreach quicker
Some times the data isn't correct and you don't always know if a mobile is personal or a work phone.
Helps me reach potential customers easier and with less hassle
The ability to export LI profiles directly to salesforce in a few clicks - saving time on having to manually enter details of each lead. This would often take me half a day to complete instead of 10 mins for an entire lead list.
When uploading multiple contacts to Salesforce where one or more contacts are missing emails - an error appears - it would be great if the interface allowed a quick way to edit/add emails via cognism directly for a quick resolution.
Time. I have far more time to focus on my outreach where before I would spend a lot of admin time to prepare my outreach list. It also saves time where I would often spend searching or predicting emails of prospects.
The contact data is really good and simple to use.
sometimes information is a little bit inaccurate but quite rarely.
Reaching out to the right Decision Makers.
The data available to help get in contact with leads
Sometimes the information is not accurate or up-to-date
Finding the right contact info that tends to not be available on other tools
The data is really good compared with Lusha and Zoom info.
I think that the extension on chrome could be easier to read, as well as an integration with LinkedIn Sales Navigator would be great for identifying insights into companies
When I can't find customer data elsewhere, Cognism seems to solve this issue by providing me with some information.
GDPR complient information, absolutely love the system and the staff - everyone in my office loves the system, please keep doing what youre doing and we will be fine
absolutely nothing, I think it is really really good honestly best system i have ever seen, wish all the systems were this easy to use, maybe we could get more mob numbers
making it easy for me to reach out to my prospects with gdpr complient information - i am working much more productive because of this system yioure the best honestyl
Very easy to use, always loads very quickly. If there was an issue with credits support team sorted it very quickly. All round very good does everything it should
Nothing, very happy with the system as a whole. Only issue was with creidts but this was sorted within 10 minutes of speaking to the support team not waiting on hold!
Easy to get contact information for relevant people, cant supply the data very quickly and most importantly very accurately allowing me to work very efficiently
The plugin is so easy to use. It's also just super fast
lack of details on C-suite individuals in the UK.
Improving my prospecting and growing my pipeline weekly, at a much better rate!
I probably use the contact information provisions the most. I like how the information pops up along side Sales Nav in a way that is presented clearly and cleanly.
I think there are lots of features within the actual platform for finding accounts to prospect, and I don't really know how to use them properly. So nothing wrong with the platform, I'd just like to learn how to use it better.
Prospecting. It provides account information (jurisdiction, industry, CRM included) in a clear way and connects relevant leads from companies to your account search to make it easier to rach out to people.
Cognism as a Sales Tool provides invaluable access to company and prospect data, however, what is truly valuable is the value added services that Cognism provide. Cognism provide regular teach-in sessions and are able to provide ad-hoc data enrichment services, which enable us to apply Cognism's expertise across our entire Sales Organisation.
It would be beneficial for future development if we were able to see assess indivudual sales person usage of the tool directly, without needing to reach out to the Account Management team to provide this data; it would allow us to plan tailored training or assess RoI on the fly.
Cognism provides business insights for our inside sales team but additionally offers regular teach-in webinars on cold calling, which is invaluable for employees to gain new confidence and skills.
It's a game changer, at my previous roles we only used Lusha and SalesNav, but in my new role I was introduced to cognism and I don't think I can ever go back into a world workout cognism
It's amazing for European companies, but doesn't always have the best info for American contacts, but still very useful, works very well with zoominfo
Allows me to find numbers and data that I might previously not have found , and the more data the better!
The integration through LinkedIn is every BDMs dream. Makes prospecting so much more effective.
Occasionally there may be a number or email that isn;t correct but this is rare.
Prospecting - as I said above it really speeds the process up in terms of getting the relevant information needed.
Relly like the linkedin plugin, makes prospecting very easy
sometimes there arent emails, but most of the time the data is good and accurate
solving the problem of quick and easy prospecting with integrations to my CRM
The simplicity of the platform, it is very self-explanatory and easy to use. It is visually appealing and the results of using its tools are above expected. The customer service is exceptional, the personal contact and help provided by the team is flawless and very effective.
Honestly, very few things to say in this sense. Some features could be clearer or made explicit; for example: when trying to contact a certain group of people and want to divide it in different batches in order to contact one person at a time per company. It would be nice to understand that different lists would exclude previously contacted persons.
Not using Cognism long enough to be able to respond adequately but from what I understood in a meeting with cognism's customer serviceis that new features lately have been able to solve previously flagged problems and added new features specially to make it user-friendly. Not many platforms are that easy to use and/or offer help with navigating into it that fast and efficiently.
Diamond verification has really improved the quality of my prospecting and that of my teams - pick-up rates are through the roof, as are conversions. The best tool on the market for gathering data of potential customers. Have used ZoomInfo, Lusha, and neither compare. The fact that you can request diamond verification of a contact means you can focus on reaching out to others while Cognism does the hard work of chasing down and verifying your key prospects.
Not a lot to dislike, UI and UX is very good. Some issues with our integration to CRM however was a problem on our side, the support team at Cognism was very quick to rectify and resolve this.
Giving us contact details for C Suite, Heads of Departments, Managers, and team members for some of the largest enterprises in the world. Allowing us to have the opportunity to discuss our product and build relationships with them without being aired a thousand times.
the great data, reliable phone numbers and emails. The easy integration makes prospecting easy, allowing me to quickly and smoothly get prospects into my outreach account.
Sometimes it doesn't allow me to add prospects in as it says they are duplicates even if they are not duplicates in the outreach system which can be frustrating but doesn't outweigh the good aspects cognism adds to my prospecting.
It allows me to find numbers and emails that I normally wouldn't be able to. I can prospect much more quickly now which has really helped to free up more time for reaching out to prospects.
Not only does cognism have the best data out there, but it also allows you to edit/amend and add numbers unlike other enrichment tools. The data exports extremely fast with our CRM.
Sometimes it can be slow or if there are no data available at all there's no way to add the lead which can be extremely frustrating. Also in some cases errors appear with some leads, causing lag during exporting.
Cognism is helping us to both find companies and enrich leads with emails and mobile numbers. It is also a source for us to find new companies to prospect/target.
The way it integrates into all of the websites that I go on and has very strong integration with LinkedIn SalesNav. Allows me easily export data to Outreach & Export.
In some instances, the accuracy of emails and contact numbers can be incorrect. Sometimes the app does not run as fast as I would like it to, but this could be due to the backend.
Data sourcing prospects' data is required in order to get in touch with them and start the deal process. Without cognism I do not know where I would source this data from.
Job titles come alongside their number allowing prospecting to be far quicker and more efficient. The layout is straightforward and user-friendly and does not take much time at all to learn and incorporate into the salesteam.
I wish some of the numbers were more accurate and more people were covered across the app so that prospecting could be made even easier. The application can sometimes be a bit slow.
Cognism solves finding numbers that would have been challenging and time-consuming to find. It also integrates into outreach, meaning prospects can be directly added to our sequence.
The platform is user-friendly and saves so much time when identifying the right prospects
There are limits on how many contacts you export at a time. However, I understand why it's the case.
Allows our sales team to focus on sales instead of manual prospect list building.
I love the integration with Salesforce. Searching leads in the accounts we want AND having them immediately created in Salesforce is just so convenient and a time saver!
I have none to little downsides. When a downside is mostly because we are searching a niche or a too small of a company etc.
The constant need for verified leads!! It is increasing the amount of meetings we have and the amount of new created opportunities!
Building prospector lists and how easy it is to integrate with Hubspot
It can get a little buggy. I've had numerous occasions where cognism wouldn't work in terms of finding details for contacts.
Accessing data for prospects, speeding up list builds.
The possibility to import many contacts in comparison to 500 on zoominfo.
Sometimes, they don't display the correct number of emails when you do an export.
They help me to generate more Sales Qualified Opportunities
I first used this when I needed some contact information on Linkedin and I was surprised at how easy it was! Without any training, I could use it.
I really can't think of something I dislike at the moment
It's helping me to get enough information needed to chase leads
The amount of information that Cognism provides me with.
That sometimes that information/data can be wrong and misleading.
Gatekeepers often require a first and last name/don't provide personal emails - Cognism allows me to ask for people by name and email them too
Most helpful part is finding contacts information to outreach to, and great use of list exporting to Hubspot
Sometimes can be misinformed about account they work at due to having two jobs on LinkedIn profile
Solving problems in finding contact information for prospects, benefiting me by allowing my access to a range of prospects to contact as part of my role.
