Cognism Pros and Cons
- High data quality, including mobile number verification and real-time signals
- Strong GDPR and DNC compliance emphasis (especially for EMEA)
- Wide integrations with major CRMs and sales engagement tools
- API and bulk data (Data-as-a-Service) support
- AI-powered account research and persona building
- Pricing is opaque and primarily quote-based — no published list prices for Standard/Pro
- Credit-based model can be complex for usage forecasting
- Some advanced features (e.g., mobile verification) may be limited to higher tiers or add-ons
- No publicly documented on-premises / self-hosted option
Cognism’s pricing page is headed “transparent pricing, adapted to how your team uses data”. It contains no prices. Not a range, not a starting figure, not a per-credit rate — both tiers end in “talk to an expert”, and both add-ons are quoted too. Its own FAQ explains why: pricing is “personalised according to the product you need, your team composition and how you plan to use the platform.” That is a legitimate enterprise model. Calling the page transparent is a stretch.
- What it is: A sales intelligence platform providing verified B2B contact data, intent signals and CRM enrichment.
- Best for: Sales teams that need mobile-verified European contact data and can run a procurement process.
- Pricing: Not published. Standard and Pro tiers, both including 5 licences. Verified July 2026.
- The honest catch: You cannot shortlist Cognism on price, because there is no price to shortlist on.
What Is Cognism?
Cognism sells verified B2B contact and company data — emails, mobile numbers, job titles and career history — alongside contextual signals like hiring activity, funding rounds, mergers and job changes. It holds 4.5/5 on G2 and 4.7/5 on Capterra and cites more than 4,000 companies as customers.
Three products sit on the page: Sales Prospecting (the Standard and Pro tiers), CRM Enrichment, and Data-as-a-Service for API or bulk delivery. The latter two are add-ons on both tiers, and both are quoted rather than priced.
How Cognism Works
- Two prospecting tiers, Standard and Pro, neither priced.
- Five licences included on each.
- Credits are pooled at account level, not per user.
- One credit unlocks one contact, permanently.
- CRM Enrichment and Data-as-a-Service are quoted add-ons.
- SSO appears in the feature list, tier placement unstated in text.
Cognism Pricing
Captured from Cognism’s pricing page in July 2026. No monetary figure of any kind appears on it.
| Standard | Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Quoted | Quoted |
| Licences included | 5 | 5 |
| Positioning | “Essential prospecting workflows” | “Advanced prospecting workflows” |
| Adds | Company and contact data, firmographic and technographic filters, AI account research, CSV export | Verified mobile data, on-demand verification, intent data, enhanced dashboards |
| CRM Enrichment | Add-on | Add-on |
| Data-as-a-Service | Add-on | Add-on |

What actually decides your cost:
- Nothing on the page will tell you. There is no starting price, no per-licence rate, no credit price and no range. Cognism’s FAQ confirms that pricing depends on “the product you need, your team composition and how you plan to use the platform”, with CRM Enrichment and Data-as-a-Service priced by “subscription structure, usage and delivery requirements”. Budget evaluation time accordingly.
- The credit model is genuinely well designed, though. Cognism states that credits are pooled at account level rather than allocated per user, that one credit unlocks one contact, that viewing costs nothing and already-unlocked contacts cost nothing again, and that the same contact can be used “for prospecting, enrichment and API without additional cost”. Buy once, use everywhere. Against data vendors that charge separately per use case, that is a materially better arrangement.
- Five licences on both tiers means the entry commitment is a team purchase. Neither Standard nor Pro is a single-seat product, so a solo founder or a two-person sales team is buying five licences regardless.
- Pro is about mobile numbers and intent. Cognism’s FAQ describes Pro as adding intent data, on-demand mobile verification and enhanced dashboards. If your outbound motion depends on reaching people by phone, that is the tier — and the difference is worth establishing precisely, since it is the only stated distinction between the two.
- Both add-ons apply to both tiers. CRM Enrichment and Data-as-a-Service are marked as add-ons against Standard and Pro alike, so neither tier bundles them. A full deployment is therefore three separate commercial conversations.
- European mobile data is the differentiator. Cognism’s reputation rests on GDPR-compliant, phone-verified contact data with strong European coverage, which is where it tends to beat US-centric competitors. That is the reason to pay whatever the quote turns out to be.
Who Should Use Cognism
- European outbound sales teams. The clearest case — verified mobile data with a compliance-first posture.
- Teams of five or more. The licence floor makes it a team product by design.
- Companies doing account-based selling. Intent data, hiring and funding signals, and AI persona building.
- Organisations needing CRM hygiene. The CRM Enrichment add-on keeps records current automatically.
It fits poorly for small teams and solo sellers, given five included licences; for buyers who need to compare cost before a sales call; and for anyone wanting self-serve access, which is not offered.
Honest Pros and Cons
Strengths
- Credits are pooled across the account, not siloed per user.
- One credit unlocks a contact permanently — no repeat charges.
- The same contact works across prospecting, enrichment and API at no extra cost.
- Strong European mobile coverage with a compliance-first position.
- 4.5/5 on G2 and 4.7/5 on Capterra across a large customer base.
- Intent, hiring, funding and job-change signals built in.
Limitations
- No prices published anywhere, despite the page’s heading.
- Both tiers require a sales conversation.
- Five licences included means no small-team entry point.
- CRM Enrichment and Data-as-a-Service are unpriced add-ons.
- The Standard-to-Pro difference is described only in general terms.
- No free tier or self-serve trial is offered on the page.
Cognism Alternatives and How It Compares
- ZoomInfo is the largest competitor, strongest on US data and similarly quote-only.
- Apollo.io publishes its pricing and includes a free tier, with a broader sales engagement toolset.
- RocketReach and Hunter are cheaper, narrower contact-finding tools with published rates.
- Seamless.AI competes on real-time contact search.
- Lusha and UpLead target smaller teams with self-serve plans.
- Clearbit, now part of HubSpot, focuses on enrichment rather than prospecting.

The Verdict
Cognism’s product reputation is well earned. Verified mobile numbers with genuine European coverage and a compliance-first posture is the thing it is bought for, and it is a real differentiator against US-centric data vendors whose European records tend to be thin. Ratings of 4.5/5 on G2 and 4.7/5 on Capterra across 4,000-plus companies back that up, and the contextual signals — hiring, funding, mergers, job changes — are the right inputs for account-based selling.
The credit model deserves specific praise, because data vendors are usually where the worst metering lives. Cognism states that credits are pooled at account level rather than per user, that one credit unlocks one contact permanently, that viewing costs nothing and re-accessing an unlocked contact costs nothing, and that the same contact can be used across prospecting, CRM enrichment and the API at no additional charge. Buy once, use everywhere, across the whole team. That is the arrangement a buyer would design, and several competitors do the opposite.
Which makes the page’s framing the one thing to push back on. It is headed “transparent pricing” and contains no price of any kind — no rate per licence, no cost per credit, no starting figure, no range. Both tiers end in “talk to an expert” and both add-ons are quoted separately, so a full deployment involves three commercial conversations before you know what any of it costs. Cognism’s FAQ is honest about the reason, and bespoke pricing is entirely normal at this end of the market. But a page that publishes nothing is not transparent, and buyers should plan for a procurement process rather than a comparison exercise — with five licences as the minimum commitment on either tier.
FAQ
How much does Cognism cost?
Cognism does not publish pricing. Its page shows two Sales Prospecting tiers — Standard and Pro, each including five licences — and two add-ons, CRM Enrichment and Data-as-a-Service, with no figure attached to any of them. Its FAQ states that pricing is “personalised according to the product you need, your team composition and how you plan to use the platform”.
How do Cognism credits work?
One credit unlocks one contact. Credits are pooled at account level rather than allocated per user, so any team member can draw on the shared pool. Viewing records costs nothing, re-accessing an already-unlocked contact costs nothing, and the same unlocked contact can be used for prospecting, CRM enrichment and API access without further charge.
What is the difference between Cognism Standard and Pro?
Per Cognism’s FAQ, Standard is for teams needing reliable contact and company data for day-to-day prospecting, while Pro is for teams needing more advanced targeting and prioritisation — adding intent data, on-demand mobile verification and enhanced dashboards. Both tiers include five licences, and both treat CRM Enrichment and Data-as-a-Service as paid add-ons.
Does Cognism have a minimum number of users?
Effectively yes. Both published tiers state “5 licences included”, so the smallest purchase covers five people whether or not you need that many. There is no single-seat or small-team plan shown on the pricing page, and no free tier or self-serve trial is offered.
Is Cognism better than ZoomInfo?
They differ by geography more than capability. Cognism’s strength is verified mobile data and GDPR-compliant coverage in Europe; ZoomInfo’s is depth in the United States. Both are quote-only, so neither can be shortlisted on price. If your outbound targets are European and phone-based, Cognism is generally the stronger data set — the reverse tends to hold for North American prospecting.

We process all data through an external qualification company and we find that approximately 40% of email addresses and either risky or incorrect. We have found that the phone numbers are more accurate.
It is the tool that enables us to deliver marketing campaigns to the right personas and verticles. It also gives a mobile numbers or key, senior business leaders.
The landscape of data platform software is vast and lets face it, they all offer the same stuff that we all expect as a minimum these days (Chrome extension, LinkedIn interoperability etc) What I like about Cognism is: Its wider interoperability and integration with a huge amount of CRM systems, completely automating the dreaded task of pulling data from platform to CRM. Its data quality! Without a doubt, the best resource for quality data in the UK, particularly for mobile numbers. CS - Our account manager Nate is always available to help answer any queries.
We have found problems with email campaigns in the past, however we work in an industry which is notoriously difficult for email addresses so this is not a problem that is unique to Cognism and I expect other industries would not suffer this issue.
It saves me from having to spend hours trying to locate contact data for prospects. I was spending 1 week of each month on this prior to Cog, now I spend less than 1 day per month.
For our BDR Team of 12, We use Cognism to Search for companies inspecific industries and regions. I like that I can save a list of businesses and then export them into another CRM we use for outreach. Cognism also has an enrichment feature that we utilize to fill in the gaps for lead information.
It can be a litle confusing when going from a Contact Search, to Company Search and then saving to a list only to then enrich the content. I wish it was automatic when we saved to a list. Not a huge deal though
It's solving our problem of not being able to find verified email addresses and phone numbers. It Eliminates the BDR's need to find a lead. All we ask from our BDR's is to prospect each lead and touch each lead 8 times.
Easy to navigate and very useful information gained.

Getting me up to date info for reliable and strong calls

Not as many email addresses and integration (importing contacts) can be ineffective at times.
contact info! Getting in touch with more people
The most useful about Cognism is the ability to get the rights contacts and companies with accurate data, especially for Europe, compared to their US competitor who delivers only average and inaccuratedata. Their integration with prospecting and sales software makes contacts upload to sequences very quickly. It is like a kid's game!
There is not much I dislike about Cognism. I have been doing this job for years, and this software makes my life a lot easier.
Finding companies in specific industries and contacts with accurate data, uploading contact to prospecting CRM quickly.
It really is idiot-proof. Searches can be defined, refined, saved, and integrated into a CRM effortlessly allowing sales teams to get on with the job of selling.
Not much to be honest. I've asked their dev team for some changes and they seem to be in flight so we'll wait further for those amendments. So let's see but their CS has been top notch
Getting us in front of decision-makers in a quick and timely manner, and allowing us multiple levels of entry into organisations that we wish to interact with.
Helps find data that wouldn't usually be available. Great for contacting hiring managers.
Some data is not always readily available.
Helping to find leads quickly. Without cognism, it would take a lot longer to find the contact details of hiring managers.
Cognism is the best data tool I've used. I can make lists of prospects that are super relevant with high quality data.
There are occasionally numbers that are numbers of people with the same name but not the right person.
Cognism takes the time out of finding relevant prospects which means I can spend more time reaching out and less time researching.
Chrome addon. Useful info, easy to use. True data on it.
Mobile phone sometimes blocked on the app for prospects.
Prospect contact details.
Being able to get the names and contacts of people you have been trying to get hold of and the clarity and level of data is super helpful. Would be lost without this tool now!
Not so much a dislike but a wish list and recommend to improve, the function to look for international shippers/narrow down specific product searches on more than a SIC code
The contact details it is providing to be able to contact cold leads and being able to get a foot in the door. Seeing the level of employees in the business and best people to speak to within the business
Ease of use, and instant results, open doors to opportunities I had previously thought were a dead end

Cognism is the most user friendly tool I use today. It really speaks for it self, the extention makes the work I provide very efficient. I see it as a must have to do my job well. Next to that the service and trainings they provide are really helpfull.
Cognism could improve in exporting data sheets and of course some data is not 100% correct and needs some improvement.
Prospecting the right people. Saving time because they provide really relevant mobile phonenumbers so you don't have to waste time calling switchboards. Searching tool works very good.
it is user friendly, fast and fun to use,
not all the contact numbers are valid ones
reaching to contacts that put trough invalid phone numbers
Using Cognism has allowed me to get contact information for prospects I haven't obtained before. The program is super easy to use, and I can utilize all the different filters for my specific territory.
Nothing honestly. So far it has been great, the team is extremely helpful as well.
Cognism is allowing me to get contact information, as well as a better understanding of the size of the business I am going after. I have been able to obtain not only cell phone numbers but emails as well!
Simple to use and navigate, helpful guides, great content pushed out to their users, friendly team.
Could have more data across EMEA (DACH Region specifically) and better data in the UK.
Access to data is always hard; Cognism makes it as simple as possible. The integrations specifically into other platforms such as Salesforce and Salesloft is really good.
I can email Justin and get a response within 10min, shedule a tortorial on Teams if i do not understand any information. Account manger for my sales team so cummincation is clear.
I think i need to upgrade my account to access more features. I dont like the fact i can only do 25 contacts per page when trying to export to csv and share with my team.
Getting both contact numbers and emails to use for internal busiiness campaigns that save time and money but best of all help me and the sales team to be more productive daily.
I like the Chrome extension. Since I work out of the US, I leverage this extension with SalesNavigator to target UK prospects. It's much easier to pull contacts this way as opposed to creating lists with filters in Cognism itself.
For the UK, a lot of the HQ numbers are not correct and there are not many Mobiles listed. The emails are on point though. I'd like there to be more mobile numbers or a higher percentage of correct HQ numbers. Specifically tailored to the office that contact is working out of.
Quick contact download to speed up the overall sales process. The extension helps me get through many names daily.
The way you can find contact details with such ease!
Nothing I can think of yet! I like how you can get the contact details you need without the sheer searching and searching.
Waiting for connections to be accepted.
I am really happy to see all the structure and the ease of use of it - more than satisfied with finding the correct contacts.
The downside is that I cannot find as much contacts in the Public sector.
Finding the right personas and their contacts
Cognism has opened up hard-to-reach accounts and provided us with direct access to key decision-makers within our ICP. It's a must-have for any SDR team in the SaaS world.
Cognism provides phone numbers to a spouse or relative instead of the person I'm trying to contact. It's hard to recover and engage when you call someone's wife on accident.
Cognism is providing phone numbers that do not exist on ZoomInfo. It's crucial to have both tools in the tech stack to be more productive in prospecting and sales efforts.
Very easy to use. I like the feature where you can save your search, to be used for the next time it's used.
I don't like how sometimes it doesn't pick up people have moved jobs and you call the lead and they have moved somewhere else.
Cognism has helped me have more leads for call days. Quick and easy to use.
It's easy to use and I love the Chrome Extension
I think sometimes the phone numbers are not all good
Finding conacts for leads that I need
Cognism integrates with both SFDC and our SEP (SalesLoft). We have been able to utilize the tool to find new leads based off of industries as well as intent data. In addition, we have also been able to enhance the data of the current leads we already had. One of the things that has continued to stand out to me is that the tool has gotten better with more features over time. The other thing that I would feel terrible about if I failed to mention is just how awesome their support is. We have a dedicated account manager who checks in with us on occasion, ensures we know about new features that would be relevant and is just overall highly available to answer any support questions we have. I would highly recommend Cognism to anyone looking for leads to any industry that is present and active on LinkedIn.
I don't have a lot to add here. It's a new feature and I am sure is still being enhanced, but I would love the ability to add more filters when searching for new contacts within current existing accounts in our CRM. The ability to filter by customer fields, perhaps? Overall, I really don't have anything to complain about.
I trialed out SeamLess, ZoomInfo and a couple other tools before using Cognism. What has stood out is that the data is better (Diamond Verified #'s are awesome!) and the verified emails are great too. We had a short trial of Cognism before signing a contract and from that trial, we saw a 100% ROI on the price of our annual membership - which meant it was a no brainer. We have been able to find relevant contacts within businesses that show intent data, enhance our current database of leads and overall this has solved many of the issues we were dealing with before.
Cognism really my life savior in my work simply due to ease of exporting of prospects LinkedIN to the Hubspot directly. This really saves me huge amount of time and efforts.
Sometime what shown in the preview mode to be redeemed and result of redeemed contacts are totally different. For example, I saw a contact with prospect@company. When I redeem, it shows empty.
Quick way to mine new leads and prospects directly from Linkedin to Hubspot. This save huge amount of time required to extract list of linkedin contacts that might be potential customers.
Being used in generating leads and having the decision-makers.
It doesn't provide all the contact details; some contacts don't have contact details too. Also, it doesn't allow me to save all the contacts I need to do it per 25 contacts/per batch
