One central HRS system that allows for payroll, HR, learning, recognition and provides benefits for it's employees as well.
What I dislike about employment hero is that often it can be quite clunky - there is no formatting for the recognition or announcement posts etc.
Regarding quarterly interviews with EH, my colleague and myself have stated the things we would like to change, however often these things are resolved; nor are Employment Hero proactive in responding to our questions.
The rewards program, and being able to pay into multiple bank accounts. Makes managing personal savings much easier!
There is a lot going on in the dashboard, and it can be difficult to navigate frequently accessedd information.
Payroll.

too complicated and opening already captured than payrun need to re captured again.
To reduce the double work
It is easy to use, relatively comprehensive and offers a one-stop-shop for employee data. We've used it mainly for recording employee data and contracts. EH offers good tools to report on compliance aspects. In our sector, maintaining records around statutory and mandatory compliance is critical and EH has allowed us to meet many of these legislative requirements.
Compared to some other (UK) based systems, the HR Platinum system can become quite expensive. Would prefer it if some of the goals and 1-1 functionality were integrated into the (lower cost) HR Premium package. One issue we’ve noticed is that when you've issued a contract, you can't 'go back' and alter it again without deleting the entire personnel file and starting from scratch which can be frustrating. The interface has recently been updated and cosmetically looks more attractive, but seems to offer no real advantages. It appears that the platform speed has slowed down since this upgrade. The biggest problem we've noticed is with ongoing support. Very slow responses or sometimes none at all, following numerous email attempts. Also, there appears to be no clear complaints process for when things go wrong.
Document control of company procedures and policies, record keeping of HR records, absence management are all much easier. Tasks that traditionally took hours to complete, can be updated and managed with ease. On-boarding new team members can be initiated in only a few clicks. The ease of accessibility from an employee perspective is also a real benefit – for example, the Employee Self Service provides staff with 24x7 access and automatically notifies payroll of any request and/or changes.
I like the employee facing experience and that we can keep information for employees in one place (but this is not the case for contractors)
- The recruitment function just does not work properly, they launched too soon. There are so many improvements needed. Premium recruiter license does not sync, lots of duplication of candidates - Leave a request - does not connect with any email is also very inflexible. What can be done about this? Ideally, we would like certain people to approve but is a bit complicated. When I had a meeting with the account manager to discuss about the premium license, he didn't have enough information about it - The Independent Contractor is totally useless, I can not add any notes, I can not customise the leave request and I just don;t see any value in adding them in - Global Trams - I had one offshore person hired in this module and it was a total disaster, lot's of emails, about 16 people were copied in the email. Terrible experience - The customer service team is very slow getting back to me, they also never get it what I am asking. They always reply with some useless article - Performance reviews are not flexible at all. they don't have anything that the manager can provide about the employee without having the employee see that. They only have a section called management notes but is not good because can create a long document and does not separate into sections
Keeping the information in one place and leave management
Relatively cheap and Aussie based. That is all the positives there are to this awful product.
Our decision to opt for Employment Hero (EH) as our HR solution has become an ongoing source of disappointment and frustration. Despite a seemingly impressive demo and sales pitch, our experience with EH has been a series of letdowns since day one. The implementation team's contribution was nothing more than uploading the CSV we provided, leaving us questioning the value of their involvement. The revelation that essential features demonstrated in the HR system demo were exclusively tied to the payroll system hit us hard, and it's infuriating that this crucial detail wasn't explicitly communicated before we committed. The touted self-service system falls flat when it matters most. Staff-initiated changes like updating bank details fail to trigger payroll notifications unless you succumb to the pressure of purchasing the payroll platform – a piece of information conveniently swept under the rug during the sales process. It's mind-boggling that such a basic functionality is held hostage behind an additional paywall. The inadequacies in employee file changes, requisition, timesheet, and notification settings are beyond frustrating. Attempts to address these issues through support tickets only result in generic responses, leaving us banging our heads against the wall. The lack of responsiveness and transparency regarding potential improvements has left us feeling helpless. The oversights in the onboarding process are downright baffling. While the system allows us to classify staff as full-time, part-time, or casual during onboarding, the same option is mysteriously absent when recruiting. It's an infuriating limitation that makes us question why we chose a system with such glaring oversights. EH's touted timesheet and leave management system, supposedly the best, has turned into a daily source of exasperation. Running reports to track staff workdays and leave requires an absurd amount of manual effort, forcing us to question the platform's usability and efficiency. The relentless promotion of EH AI has backfired spectacularly, flooding our system with spam applications and rendering the recruitment section useless. Efforts to turn off this intrusive feature have proven futile, contributing to the overall sense of frustration and regret. Basic functionalities such as contract expiry reminders are shockingly absent. Instead of a system that seamlessly notifies HR, we were told to set reminders on our personal devices – a ludicrous suggestion for a platform that claims to streamline HR processes. Recording staff working in two teams is another source of aggravation, as any update marks the existing job title as finished. This lack of flexibility undermines the entire purpose of an HR system, leaving us questioning the logic behind our decision to choose EH. EH's reporting and API features turned out to be nothing more than smoke and mirrors. The limited post-contract support leaves us grappling with the need to pay external entities for fundamental features that should be part of the package. In hindsight, choosing Employment Hero is a decision we deeply regret. The frustrations, oversights, and lack of essential functionalities have us questioning why we ever chose this platform in the first place. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for a reliable HR solution.
Ended up creating more problems than solving them.
We were really looking forward to getting Employment Hero up and running for our business. We were sold a story of "easy to use" and paid additional for "supported implementation".
The entire process was poorly managed by the Employment Hero team. The additional fee we paid for a managed implementation was entirely wasted as we were told time after time "no you have to do that yourself" additionally we were told we would not be charged whilst we were not active on the platform and there was "no rush" to complete the implementation process only to discover that we had been charged for 6 months’ worth of use when we were still in the setup phase and not using the platform yet at all. The overall experience with Employment Hero was incredibly disappointing. Overly complicated. Lacking proper support and a waste of money. We ended up cancelling our agreement with Employment Hero (another example of their terrible copy and paste customer service) and going to a new provider ADP who delivered us a wonderful service and who continue to improve and upgrade their platform.
We were hoping to streamline our HR management and improve the experience for our team members. Employment Hero has great marketing but that's about it.
