Hootsuite Reviews: 4.2/5 — Solid Choice

Just added the "Teams" feature to Hootsuite so that 2 colleagues can jump in and see, reply to, engage, handle interactions with our social media channels. It's very handy to have willing collaborators and their platform makes it easy. Also like the dashboard (once you get over the learning curve to set it up) because it displays all the channels. We use the Bulk Uploading feature a lot for message posting to various channels.

Hootsuite could be even better if customer support was faster and more robust. They should aggregate all reach and mentions so we could do our Metrics reports more easily. Would also like to be able to post to IG and Pinterest without work-arounds, but I understand this is not totallly their fault. A lot of privacy issues swirl around inside this app. Meanwhile, for price and features (I tried a lot of competitors), it rocks.

Saves time and hassles communicating with our social team. It has smoothed the workflow for us and made replying to followers faster.

The support is great! Also, the tools keep getting nice updates. I feel you can use almost any social media platform with Hootsuite and everyone can understand the basics after a quick 15--minute tutorial.

The platform has been around for years. I believe I started using this tool for social media about 7 years ago. Back then, you could basically use the free version in its entirely without a miss of the beat Now, it has gotten a little pricier and the free version is somewhat useless for social media professionals that want to schedule out more content than just 5 posts at a time. Also, I do not like scheduling video content ahead of time on Hootsuite. It feels very limited and you might as well wait to post it live. It disconnects profiles all of the time as well due to security. It can be frustrating.

I think that I would definitely like to get more with the pro version. It's 10 social media accounts, but I have many clients. The social media accounts might be a total of 5 for one client so basically I need to upgrade to enterprise, but it's too costly so I use alternatives. The benefits are super! I think it's great for approving content and mapping out your week. I save a lot of content in draft just to keep it on my radar which is awesome.

This tool not only lets me schedule social media posts on multiple platforms for different organizations, but it also allows me to track and advertise on them. This is an all-in-one, easy to use online tool.

The main thing that I do not like about Hootsuite is how they post to Instagram when you have several pictures. I have had issues with my reception and trying to self-publish with the Hootsuite reminder and set up can be difficult when I am working in remote areas. I hope this is one area that they will continue to improve upon.

The problems we are focusing on solving right now are getting the community to know more about us and Hootsuite has been a great tool for that. We have realized that we can utilize this tool to reach the maximum audience engagement without having to do a ton of extra work.

Not a deal breaker - however their Social Listening feature can be quite expensive vs. other options in the market. Maybe theirs is superior - we haven't tried it yet.

I love how easy it is to send our social media posts to ALL of our social accounts with the touch of a button. Scheduling weeks in advance is so helpful for our business as we get too busy to do daily social media upkeep.

Hootsuite is a bit pricey if you're a smaller company like us. It would be nice to have more package options in pricing.

The best part about Hootsuite is scheduling posts out in advance. Another great part about this website tool is that you can see all your social channels lined up next to one another for comparisons on how they are performing on each platform.

The only thing I really dislike about this website is that it's not as analytic heavy. So, for those looking to have an all in one site to use for scheduling posts, and analytics this may not be the best option.

Hootsuite allows you to figure which social channel performs the best with the use of analytics, the scheduler tool, and the fact that you can create columns and tabs that show reposts, likes, shares etc.

To be honest! I didn't see any dislike in using hoot suite. Exempt for the payment. I suggest atleast 30days free trial for 1 month content plan and used it properly.

Hootsuite allows me to schedule multiple posts in advance, which saves me time and allows me to plan marketing campaigns. The software also gives me suggestions regarding when my posts will be most effective. The biggest reason I love Hootsuite is its ability to post to multiple social media channels simultaneously.

In my opinion, the built-in media library should be more robust. It is nice to have this feature, but your options when choosing clipart of GIFs are very limited.

I am saving time by scheduling a time during my week when I can sit down for an hour and plan all of our social media marketing to go out throughout the week. Scheduling the posts keeps me from having to log into five different social media platforms and post throughout the week, which would not only create interruptions during my day but also would not provide our organization with opportune times to send these posts out.

This is the best social media management-scheduling, posting, tagging, analysis, you name it- platform to use, by far. We love it and swear by it-it's great!

My biggest concern is actually a small one, in that tagging from social account to account can be difficult if you are trying to cross tag across channels in one post.. really not a big deal at all compared to the greatness of other features, just a minor annoyance!

Hootsuite for business is a remarkable tool for planning, developing team content, as well as getting approvals through the proper channels. Among the competitors out there, the user interface coupled with the many features make Hootsuite the go-to for our online needs.

The free version of Hootsuite was originally something we used without getting a professional account because it allowed 30 posts. The fact that they buttoned it down to a couple made my organization (a rescue mission) decide they needed to up the ante if we were going to do organic and paid social marketing more professionally. So while it's a bummer that they ratcheted the free versions down, it was a bonus because their service was really a godsend for us. If I had to ask for one integrated tool, it would be an integrated hashtag manager.

Hootsuite has allowed us to make content that drops at optimal times on all the social networks available to us. Our planning has gone from spreadsheets in a team meeting in person to a calendar and content creation platform at Hootsuite's site.

Publish posts across multiple channels without having to sign in to each to do so. It's a very efficient platform that takes the headache out of posting on various channels.

While I am not in a marketing profession, I do help with the social media advertising for a nonprofit we support at my company. With no formal marketing experience, it's important to me to have an easy to use and navigate system that is foolproof for advertising. Hootsuite is exactly that!

Sometimes Hootsuite disconnects accounts, which makes it a bit tricky when working on a team who manage different platforms. However, this is not a huge issue and generally easily resolved. Also, it is not possible to tag accounts on different platforms, which makes sense but then does not allow us to post on multiple accounts at the same time, basically I have to go through and do a new post per platform so I can tag the right accounts.

We are able to post on many platforms at the same time, which saves time. We also can schedule out posts in advance, which is so nice when you are moving at a million miles per hour and don't have the bandwidth to stop for a while each day to post- I can dedicate one time each week to schedule out posts in advance, which is great.

Hootsuite is straightforward and user-friendly, especially as a novice. My job is not social media, but I need to use it to thank donors.

Hootsuite makes it easy for me to schedule all of my Twitter and LinkedIn content in one place. Being able to view the content in calendar form is very helpful, and the auto-publishing feature makes planning content so easy. Being able to see the feeds and mentions from both platforms is also very convenient.

There's no real big downside in my opinion! Scheduling Instagram content would make the platform a little more valuable, and perhaps high level analytics for the unpaid version as well.

Very few other platforms have LinkedIn and Twitter scheduling. Having both in one place is really useful and makes batching content super easy and less intimidating.

Managing organic social posting and consolidating reporting across all platforms

I have been using Hootsuite for years and in this past year it went to a whole new level. I started managing other businesses social media using HS. There are so many features that I still haven't gotten around to using but everytime I use a new one, it's like I am opening a new present. Recently through my Hootsuite training, I discovered that there were media files (Free images) that I had never accessed before! And I could schedule stories! YES PLEASE! I am so thrilled that this software keeps growing in value to me. Of course the Social listening and the analytics are what got me started with HS... the way they continue to roll out new things... that is impressive and makes me confident that I made the right choice for my business.

I wish I could see the layout on IG. There is a calendar view to see what is scheduled for the upcoming week but I have some customers who could really benefit from seeing what the grid will look like. This feature has made me look at other scheduling services. But I am crossing my fingers that I will find it here.

I am solving the issue of needing to be at the computer to post. Now I can schedule and automate of course, but the stories on the go mean that I don't have to text the images to myself anymore... then scroll through a zillion images. HS sends me the image I need when I need it. Love that!

The ability to schedule as long in advance as needed is an amazing feature. It is so easy to navigate too!

I dislike the inability for instagram to automatically publish more than one photo. It, instead, has the mobile push notification option.

I love the scheduling feature. I also love the built-in quick editor to make quick adjustments for graphics used in our various social media posts! I love being able to get a quick glance at the analytics as well for reporting.

I wish we could post more than one image at a time on Instagram. I also wish the photo editor would let you reduce the size and add white or black space, so text doesn't get cut off.

Scheduling social media releases via hootsuite means you can do all the prep work in advance and be confident that your social media posts will go out on time. Hootsuite is fairly intuitive to use and though it has depth can also be used by those with less experience. I also enjoy the feature to shorten URLS in posts with the click of one button as well as the convenient free media library for nice pictures to accompany posts.

The free version has slowly been throttling back on how many channels you can release info on at the same time for free. Occasionally the social media channels disconnect (which is something those social media platforms do from time to time and not Hootsuite). This is more of a pain every now and then than a deal breaker. Sometimes the various social media platforms sign you out anyway just to ensure the right person is using the account so this is not that different.

Being able to post the same thing with free media attached/featured (such as pictures from the free library) to multiple platforms at the click of a button is a huge time saver. The fact that you can schedule it for when you would otherwise be busy (or just so you can do it all in one go and then forget about it for a few days) is very convenient.
