Ironclad is a user friendly contracts management tool. It allows companies to create a process to manage, review, and archive their commercial and vendor contracts in one location (under one roof). It's ability to integrate with third-party tools allows for seameless process, and forces teams to think about creating/managing all of their contracts. Ironclad's support team is phenomal and always quite responsive.
Ironclad needs to work on providing better reporting. In August, 2002, they released their Insights feature; however, I am having a hard time navigating that new feature.
Collaboration to make the negotition and processing of all contracts to be faster and more efficient. As mentioned above, they recently released their Insights feature for better reporting and metrics.
Top three things : 1. Collab feature 2. Workflow Build 3. Approval process within the workflow
Ironclad has ongoing "editor" development that we have yet to see.
Reporting developments are very useful and the turn tracking feature!
I like the ease of creating workflows and setting up necessary user groups. Also, the new smart import feature is a huge time saver and the Ironclad Academy is extremely resourceful.
I wish there was a repository for conditions applied in the system and the ability to archive old groups/users rather than simply disabling them in the system. I would also love to see more robust reporting offered directly through Ironclad rather than having to invest in a third party program.
Ironclad provides a centralized repository for our company which is extremely important given that we are remote-first.
I love that IronClad is integrated with Salesforce and can pull in previous dates, billing information, and other legal documents into the Order Form. It's very easy to use and update.
When you have edits to an Order Form, it can reset all of the approvals. Unless we haven't explored it already, I wish there were fields that didn't need to refresh the approval train.
Quicker order form creation for renewals. Simpler communication options than using Salesforce Chatter for deals.
I really like the customer support that we receive from Ironclad!
I can't think of anything that I don't like!
Ironclad has helped us close so many deals!
clear document control and collaboration
nothing so far is negative - will provide an update if so
clear document control and ease of integration to salesforce
Ironclad is fast, almost intuitive, the contracts simply "fly", everyone gets to collaborate in an efficient way, and the integrated e-signature process which ends with the storing of the contracts is the grand finale for an otherwise decentralized process.
The workflow builder is a bit complex. In addition, I have limited ability to notify signees from my organization on a contract to be coming their way for signatures (apart from the activity feed).
The multiple stakeholders involved in each process gain full visibility of the stages of the process, have the ability to collaborate in the same environment, have the ability to choose the proper type of agreement for their exact needs, and get insights into the progress of each task. This reduces the interim communications that otherwise would have happened on multiple channels, gives certainty and assurance that the task is handled, and creates an environment where everyone has their eyes on the ball.
For what it is, it is 100% solid. Extremely easy to implement, creating your first workflow is a breeze, and automating it through Salesforce is simple. Both the legal team and sales team enjoy utilizing the software. It brings transparency to the contracting process. Also, their CS team is extremely responsive and helpful.
Ironclad will hopefully bring in additional features so it can be a robust deal desk platform.
We are solving the past issue of a very manual legal process and document processing. Overall, the approval process is now well structured, and we have minimized inputs from the sales team users.
Being able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders with the click of a button. Our team has more visibility on the status of contracts and we can easily loop in anyone who needs to be involved. Ironclad is always looking to improve their product and our suggestions have been implemented on a number of occasions. Ironclad is not a static product, they are always looking to the future and listening to their customers' feedback. The transparency that Ironclad provides on the product roadmap and upcoming features is so helpful as we continue to build out our processes with the new features that Ironclad is always releasing.
As of now (Nov 2021), there is no integration with the accounting software that we currently use. While Ironclad does support a SalesForce integration, they do not currently have one for NetSuite.
Before Ironclad, we processed all contracts through email. It was disorganized, chaotic, and incredibly hard to manage. Ironclad allows my team to delegate different contracts to the appropriate team members and easily see which managers have already approved. Instead of 10+ email chains about the SAME contract request, everything lives in the Activity Feed. Ironclad's ability to generate our contracts directly from templates has reduced our workload tremendously as we no longer have to manually create every contract. Our General Counsel can take a bird's eye view of everything we're working on and can easily find status updates in the Activity Feed. Gone are the days of fruitlessly searching Gmail for that one specific email that explains why a certain change was made.
Easy to use. Great training material and onboarding process. Ai is a good start. Very customizable.
Some minor bugs (site freezes when uploading docs occasionally). AI still has a way to go in identifying the correct info.
Getting contract workflow and management out of everyone's emails! Makes audits and searching a lot easier.
Ironclad is a robust tool for contract management. For the most part, very intuitive. Requires some programming skills to master but overall any reasonably intelligent person can figure it out
The error messages are not always intuitive to figure out. There is no live support, except when you are first starting.
Havent fully used it yet. Benefits have yet to be determined
Informative and result-focused approach, which includes a plethora of resources and insights.
Wish Google Drive was integrated into IC's repository, so that we could easily port our list of contracts housed in GDrive directly into IC.
Help us move from current internal systems and work streams that rely on personal, siloed ways of retaining and processing information/documentation (which also creeats information gaps across the org) to instituting company-wide solutions for document retention, collaboration, and interoperability of our collective reporting and analytics tools.
The product is great, it meets many of our goals for a CLM tool, and is constantly improving with better and better features. Their customer representatives are great to work with too and very patient.
The product is too expensive relative to the competition. While it is probably a better product, I don't think they can justify some of the things they charge for, or at least how much they charge for them. Sometimes from a customer service perspective, when we encounter problems or need help, they aren't as attentive as they often are. I've even had entire requests just get ignored or forgotten.
Contract management, data analytics, contract lifecycle management, task management, approvals
During the configuration phase, prior to launch I appreciated how seamlessly I was able to load all company contracts into the system and how easily I could create workflows by myself without being at the mercy of developers doing it for me. Post-launch, I love to how collaborative the tool is and how requesters and approvers can engage in the tool to resolve all contract-related matters.
The system should enhance it's vendor management functionality as the search feature doesn't quite do it. For example, having contracts belonging to the same vendor collapsed under a centralized vendor page with a consistent naming scheme, and a snapshot of the contracts entered into with that vendor would help orgs connect the dots. I would also appreciate an admin dashboard to see what contracts are active, expiring, etc.
Ironclad is helping our organization to manage tight controls around various contract requests/workflows, and to produce push button reports for corporate governance reasons.
Like any good software, IC has designed simplicity into complex automation. The value is quickly seen with stakeholder implementation and adoption -- even with very complex (but high-frequency) agreements.
Very minor nits around spacing / formatting resulting from drafting originals in word.
Automating long-hanging fruit of repeated contract tasks and improving speed of approvals with conditional approvals around delegation of authority.
Developer-wise it's really easy to implement, and business-wise it seems very easy to add/update terms and conditions.
We had an issue with PactSafe about six months ago where they started expiring links sooner without warning us, so their notifications could use some update. Since then though, their customer service has been on point in helping us get any links that had been expired.
All terms and conditions and managing any legal issues with contracts; it's very easy to see when a contract was signed and ensure that they saw the Ts and Cs
Ironclad makes it easy to design contract templates. Now with their workflow designer, logic and customization is even easier. It allows us to more easily scale our business and track all of our activity for customer legal documents in a repository.
The only thing I'd like to see improve is if Ironclad actually built in the signing features (currently you have to use DocuSign, Hello Sign, or some other product). This would truly allow you to control every step of the process in a seamless way. However, it works as is, and it's not really a dislike of a current feature but rather a wishlist request.
Minimizing user error, setting controls and approvals and enabling our internal team to be quick and efficient when process/legal changes come up. also, non-legal team members are able to jump in and help drive development of new templates/workflows since Ironclad's interface and functionality is so easy to use and simply designed
(I have been offered a $25 gift card byG2 to write this review but my opinions are my own) Ironclad is a great platform that is both business user and legal user friendly. It integrates well with Salesforce, has a very good contract generation platform, and is great with signing authority and review logic and functions. Overall, it is the best platform that I have seen for contract management and they are great with customer service. I would recommend them to companis that are just starting with their contract management to companies who are looking for a more complete solution.
There are still features that Ironclad hasn't built out yet that I wish it had including the ability to insert pictures in an agreement through the standard generation process, a clause library, and standardized metadata tags. Hopefully, we will see some of these features added in the near future as I think they will really help the company create a more complete contract management system
We solve our contract generation, electronic signature, contract storage, and internal communication process around contracts with Ironclad.
Ironclad has helped our business gain a better understanding of our contracts and helped us structure a seamless review process. The ironclad tool is intuitive and always evolving and improving allowing non legal stakeholders ease of use and buy in. Ironclad also gives the business the opportunity to take control of their workflows and make quick changes which is vital in a growing business.
Ironclad requires some improvement around updating older workflows with some of the newer features. We currently rely on Ironclads support team to implement changes but with their new workflow designer we hope this can be a thing of the past!
We are able to keep a track of our contracts where we had no oversight of this before. Having a centralised repository for the business has been invaluable. It has also helped create accountability and ownership for contracts.
I enjoy the conditional logic features within the workflow builder. I’m able to create complicated yet streamlined workflows that don’t overwhelm our internal users.
I would like better handling of template formatting. The main example being that I currently have to make a table for signature blocks so that the formatting doesn’t get altered once uploaded as a document template. I’d also love for more of the custom workflow abilities to be available in workflow designer. The main example being more intuitive approval and archiving assignments.
We’ve been able to automate a lot of existing flows and create a centralized system for saving all agreements. The automation has led to a major reduction in issues that would typically arise with human error—lack of signature dates, lack of review from Legal prior to execution, documents not being properly saved in our repository, etc.
There are many features that I appreciate about Ironclad. Mainly, being able to create our own workflows, but also being able to request customized workflows for in-bound contracts. Manage our metadata and think about how our company wants to manage our contracts, filing system. I like that Ironclad is constantly. making updates and changes based on customer feedback. I like it has its own repository functionality. The integration is fantastic and a plus.
I would love better reporting, metrics, and being able to control access to certain confidential workflows.
As a company, we are always trying to solve problems within Ironclad, but the biggest obstacle that has been achieved is getting all of our contracts in one accessible location. Having it being used the one tool to launch and review contracts, and manage our metadata.
Pactsafe makes it easy to upload several templates and then you can also still edit them while using the tool.
I don't really have any dislikes but I'm excited to get the tool into Salesforce to help streamline the sales process.
I like being able to manage the agreements' stages through Pactsafe. I can have my own dashboard that allows me to see my agreements that are out, expired or signed. Also, I can see the stages of the agreement, themselves, by seeing of the signer(s) have viewed the agreement or not.
That it is very reliable and solid tool for legal reviews
Sometimes it takes too many clicks to find something.
Requesting approvals using legal templates
I love the flexibility Ironclad offers to power users in designing the workflows, allowing a single action to impact multiple business-units without hassle.
The loading time is often slower that I would expect from a web-app in 2023.
Ironclad allowed me to centralize all my work around my key-workflows. From template version management to providing recommendations to my users, or integrating new policies, I can do it all from a central place.
The product itself is truly great. I have used 3 other CLMs in the past and Ironclad is by far my favorite. It's user friendly yet powerful. I like that I can build the workflows without having an engineering degree. The integration with Salesforce is also very impressive. But one thing I really enjoy about Ironclad is that they listen to their customers wants and needs and that goes into their product improvements. The Ironclad team has also been a great business partner. I'm always able to get ahold of someone when I need help!
There are a few product features that other CLMs offer that I wish Ironclad had. I've talked with their product team about these gaps and trust that they will work on implementing these in the future.
Prior to implementing Ironclad, we had two contract systems and were using Drive to host contracts in three different spaces. We were also using word doc templates that we then had to work with other teams and developers to have them input the templates into Salesforce for contract generation. There was also a massive gap between these Salesforce generate contracts and them actually making it to the repository since we had to rely on sales reps to remember to do so. With the Ironclad/Salesforce integration, we have solved for these problems and are very excited to finally be in full control of our contract templates.
I really like how Ironclad allows for automation of more complex legal documents. We've all seen the demo on NDAs but when the tricky commercial agreement is in front of you, Ironclad really makes it simple to automate.
Automation of third-party paper is still an area the CLMs need to work on. In an ideal world, all legal documents are drafted in your own templates but that just doesn't work in real life. How to move in an efficient way with these within Ironclad is key to having a full CLM that covers the needs of a global legal team.
Ironclad is helping us to create standarised contracts at speed and it allows us to give the needed flexibility to our Sales team to make adjustments on the terms so "time to close" is significantly reduced.
I really enjoy the ability to view the entire contract history, to run insights, and the very easy UI. Also, the team at Ironclad is incredibly professional and personable. Shoutout to Darya.
The lack of a parent-child view for contracts, and the complications with salesforce integration. I wish that insights could be organized into folders, instead of just one long list. Same with saved dashboard views.
Serves as a single source of truth for our contracts. Version control and history. Extracting metadata from contracts and work process data of the attorneys negotiating the deals.
I like the ease of use. It's been easy for me to teach myself how to do various things in Ironclad.
I don't like that you can't delete documents from workflows.
I like that new updates come out on a regular basis with Ironclad.
I love how Ironclad can compare documents within the app itself and keeps track of different versions that are uploaded. Ironclad also allows different approvers to be assigned so there are multiple checks in place.
I don't like how Ironclad doesn't work very well with gdocs. Also, Ironclad respository has limitations on how the documents can be opened and reviewed. Sometimes the backfunction doesn't work as well as it should.
Ironclad's repository makes it easy for documents to be searched by different departments for audit as well as internal review. Ironclad also provide search function where I can search for key words and all the relevant docs with that word will come up.
The smart import function for archiving existing documents. Easy to teach and an immediate value add.
Onboarding new team members to design workflows. I don't know how to make ti better, but it is like pulling teeth
We needed a single place to store contrct documentation. There are way too many filing cabinets here. We also needed to tool that could generate reports to remind us of expiring documents/contracts.
