iSpring Suite Expert Review

iSpring Suite is a PowerPoint add-in, and that is the whole proposition. Corporate trainers already know PowerPoint; iSpring turns that existing skill into interactive e-learning with quizzes, branching scenarios, and SCORM output, without anyone learning a new authoring tool. It costs €970 per author per year — roughly €81 a month — which is enterprise pricing, and the decision is whether skipping the learning curve is worth it.

  • What it is: Course authoring software that builds e-learning inside PowerPoint, plus a newer cloud-native alternative.
  • Best for: Corporate L&D teams whose subject-matter experts already work in PowerPoint.
  • Pricing: Cloud AI €720, Suite €970, Suite AI €1,290 per author per year. 5% off online. Verified July 2026.
  • The honest catch: Pricing is per author per year with no monthly option, so a three-person team commits roughly €2,910 up front.

What Is iSpring Suite?

iSpring Suite installs into PowerPoint as a ribbon tab. You build a deck the way you always have, then use iSpring to add quizzes, interactions, branching dialogue simulations, screen recordings, and narration, and publish the result as SCORM, xAPI, or HTML5 for a learning management system.

iSpring’s pricing page showing iSpring Suite at €970 per author per year, iSpring Suite AI at €1,290, and iSpring Cloud AI at €720, with a 5% online discount.

That design decision is the entire product strategy, and it solves a real organisational problem. In most companies the person who knows the subject is not a learning designer — they are a compliance officer, an engineer, or a sales manager who already has slides. Tools like Articulate Storyline are more powerful and require genuine authoring skill; iSpring meets subject-matter experts where they already are.

The 2026 lineup adds iSpring Cloud AI, a browser-based authoring tool that does not require PowerPoint at all — and, notably, costs less than the desktop product.

How iSpring Works

  • A PowerPoint add-in. Authoring happens in PowerPoint; iSpring adds the interactive layer.
  • Works offline. The desktop Suite needs no internet access, which matters in regulated or air-gapped environments.
  • Quizzes and simulations. 14 question types plus branching dialogue scenarios for soft-skills training.
  • Standards output. SCORM, xAPI, and HTML5 for any compliant LMS.
  • Per author, per year. Licensing counts people who build courses, not people who take them.
  • Cloud AI as an alternative. Browser-based, AI-assisted, no PowerPoint dependency.

iSpring Suite Pricing

Captured from iSpring’s pricing page in July 2026 in euros on the Business tab; iSpring localizes currency and also offers Individual pricing.

Product Per author/year What it is
iSpring Cloud AI €720 Cloud-native authoring, AI-powered, no PowerPoint
iSpring Suite €970 PowerPoint add-in, works entirely offline
iSpring Suite AI €1,290 Both, team-ready

Bar chart of iSpring pricing per author per year: Cloud AI at €720, Suite at €970, and Suite AI at €1,290.

What actually decides your choice:

  • The cheapest option is the newest one. iSpring Cloud AI at €720 undercuts the desktop Suite at €970. That is unusual — normally the legacy product is the budget option — and it tells you where iSpring expects the market to go. If you do not need offline authoring or PowerPoint compatibility, the cloud tool is both cheaper and more modern.
  • You are choosing an authoring environment, not a feature tier. Suite and Cloud AI are different products rather than good-better-best. Pick by where your authors want to work.
  • Per-author licensing is the right model here. You pay for people who build courses, not people who take them, so a company training 500 staff with two authors pays for two.
  • Annual only, and it adds up. €970 per author is roughly €81 a month, but there is no monthly option — a three-author team commits about €2,910 up front. Budget accordingly.
  • The 5% online discount is free money. Buying through the website rather than sales knocks the Suite to about €921.
  • Educator and nonprofit pricing exists but is quoted. Worth asking for if you qualify, since it is not published.

Who Should Use iSpring Suite

  • Corporate L&D teams. The clearest case, particularly where subject-matter experts author their own material.
  • Organizations already invested in PowerPoint. The learning curve is close to zero for anyone who can build a deck.
  • Regulated or offline environments. The desktop Suite requires no internet, which cloud tools cannot offer.
  • Compliance training at scale. SCORM and xAPI output works with any standards-compliant LMS.

It fits poorly for teams needing highly custom interactions, where Articulate Storyline goes considerably further; for documenting internal processes, where Trainual is purpose-built and cheaper; and for selling courses publicly, where Thinkific handles commerce that iSpring does not attempt.

Honest Pros and Cons

Strengths

  • Almost no learning curve. Anyone who can use PowerPoint can author with it.
  • Genuinely capable interactions. 14 quiz types and branching dialogue simulations.
  • Full standards support. SCORM, xAPI, and HTML5 for any LMS.
  • Works offline. A real advantage in regulated and secure environments.
  • Per-author licensing. You are not charged for learners.
  • A cheaper cloud path. Cloud AI at €720 for teams that do not need the desktop.

Limitations

  • Expensive per seat. €970 per author per year, and €1,290 for the combined product.
  • Annual commitment only. No monthly option, so the outlay is upfront.
  • Ceiling below Storyline. Complex custom interactions are better served elsewhere.
  • PowerPoint dependency on the desktop product, for better and worse.
  • No LMS included. iSpring Learn is a separate purchase.
  • Discounts are quote-only. Educator and nonprofit rates are not published.

iSpring Suite Alternatives and How It Compares

  • iSpring Learn is the company’s own LMS, and the natural pairing rather than a competitor — Suite authors, Learn delivers.
  • Trainual documents processes and onboarding rather than building formal courses, at lower cost.
  • Thinkific Plus targets selling courses to customers, with commerce built in.
  • Adobe Learning Manager is the enterprise LMS option for large compliance programmes.
  • Upskillist provides ready-made courses rather than tools to build your own.
  • Articulate Storyline is the main direct competitor on authoring power, with a steeper learning curve and higher price.

For a broader survey, browse our course authoring directory.

The Verdict

iSpring Suite solves an organisational problem more than a technical one. The hard part of corporate e-learning is rarely the software — it is that the person who knows the subject is not a course designer and has no appetite to become one. By living inside PowerPoint, iSpring lets a compliance officer or an engineer turn slides they have already made into a tracked, interactive course without learning a new tool. For an L&D team trying to get subject-matter experts to produce material themselves, that is worth real money.

At €970 per author per year it asks for real money too. The right way to judge it is per author rather than per organisation: because licensing counts builders rather than learners, a company training hundreds of staff with two or three authors is paying €1,940 to €2,910 a year in total, which is modest against the alternative of outsourcing course production. A company where twenty people each want to build occasionally will find it expensive, and should concentrate authoring in fewer hands.

The most interesting thing on the pricing page is that iSpring Cloud AI costs less than the desktop Suite — €720 against €970. That inverts the usual pattern, where the newer cloud product commands a premium, and it is a fair signal about where iSpring expects authoring to happen. If you need offline authoring, PowerPoint compatibility, or work in a secure environment, the desktop Suite remains the right choice and the extra €250 is justified. If none of those apply, start with Cloud AI: it is cheaper, more modern, and the 14-day trial costs nothing to find out.

FAQ

How much does iSpring Suite cost?

Captured in euros in July 2026 on the Business tab: iSpring Cloud AI is €720 per author per year, iSpring Suite €970, and iSpring Suite AI — which combines both — €1,290. Buying online rather than through sales gives 5% off. Licensing is annual with no monthly option, and iSpring localizes currency by region. Educator and nonprofit discounts are available by quote.

Does iSpring Suite require PowerPoint?

The desktop Suite does — it installs as a PowerPoint add-in and authoring happens inside PowerPoint. That is deliberate, since it removes the learning curve for anyone already comfortable building slides. iSpring Cloud AI is the alternative for teams that do not want a PowerPoint dependency: it authors in the browser, and at €720 per author per year it costs less than the desktop product.

Is iSpring licensed per author or per learner?

Per author, meaning you pay only for the people who build courses. Learners who take the courses are not licensed through Suite. That makes it economical for organizations training large numbers of staff from a small authoring team — a company with two authors and 500 learners pays for two. Delivering and tracking those courses requires an LMS such as iSpring Learn, sold separately.

Why does the cloud version cost less than the desktop version?

iSpring has priced iSpring Cloud AI at €720 against the desktop Suite’s €970, which is the reverse of the usual pattern. The desktop product’s premium reflects offline authoring and PowerPoint integration — genuinely valuable in regulated or secure environments where cloud tools are not permitted. If you need neither, the cloud product is both cheaper and the more actively developed direction.

What is iSpring Suite best for?

Corporate learning and development teams that want subject-matter experts to author their own training without learning specialist software, particularly for compliance and onboarding delivered through an LMS. Its offline capability suits regulated environments. It is a weaker fit for highly custom interactive design, where Articulate Storyline goes further, and for documenting internal processes, where Trainual is cheaper and purpose-built.

"That's just fun designing engaging eLearning content with assessments with iSpring Suite 8.7"
What do you like best about iSpring Suite?

iSpring Suite 8.7 is definitively well suited for developing easily interactive and engaging learning content that you can view on any device (desktop, laptop and mobile device). The learners can take their courseS anywhere and at any time. iSpring Suite is a PowerPoint add-in, which means that you have access to all the iSpring features from an only one place: the iSpring Suite tab in the PowerPoint ribbon. You find all the tools you need: a presentation conversion tool into online mobile-ready courses, a screen recorder with an audio-video editor, a conversation simulation tool, a couple of interactions (directory, timeline, FAQ and book), a content library which has been introduced with the version 8.7… and the quiz maker! I definitively like iSpring QuizMaker which is a fantastic tool for creating professional and interactive assessments with rich media and video. That’s fun designing engaging quizzes with feedbacks. You can mix the question types for increasing the learner engagement. The assessment feedback is a key point for the learner experience. The eLearning course assessment allows to measure the efficiency of a course and the learner progress. The assessment should be both helpful and instructive. iSpring QuizMaker offers everything you need for reaching your assessment goals. It’s so easy to record and/or add audio, images, hyperlinks in the feedback… and you can set the text (font, size…). You can configure the scoring as you want. That’s really flexible.

What do you dislike about iSpring Suite?

If you ask me what I dislike, I won't be able to answer this question... Why???? ...because I really like all the iSpring Suite features... and as an active iSpring Suite user, I always have ideas of new features. Features that I submit to the iSpring support. The features requests submitted by the users allow to improve iSpring Suite with new amazing features.

What problems is iSpring Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?

iSpring Suite allows us to develop engaging eLearning modules in a fraction of time and to create amazing assessments and quizzes with audio, video... and feedbacks. We also train iSpring Suite users and help them to develop their first eLearning modules.

"Awesome software and amazing company to work with"
What do you like best about iSpring Suite?

I looked at what seems like hundreds of LMS and course authoring tools on the market and did demos for over 10 of the major players. I originally purchased a different product and after using it for a month I went to Ispring and could not be happier. The products are powerful yet very simple to use and if you ever have a problem or question the support you get is second to none. The company as a whole is super receptive to feedback which tells me they are committed to building awesome products. I use the Ispring suit, Iflip, and the Ilearn LMS all great products!

What do you dislike about iSpring Suite?

There isn't anything that I dislike about the software.

"iSpring is a complete solution offering a product suite with great features at an affordable price"
What do you like best about iSpring Suite?

1. Ability to create dialogue simulations using TalkMaster. 2. The many question types available in QuizMaker along with ability to create assessments by categorising questions into groups and draw random questions from these groups 3. Responsive to mobile and tablet 4. A massive content library 5. The ability to work in powerpoint using its animations and other features, and being able to publish an elearnig Scorm compliant courses from powerpoint itself. Unlike softwares like captivate and articulate, where there is an additional step of importing slides into their projects (updates become cumbersome and two step - update the ppt, bring it into the authorware and then publish), iSpring is an add-in in Powerpoint itself, which actually facilitates storyboarding, editing and updates. There is just one base powerpoint that needs to be updated/edited, so maintaining course version history is also very easy and efficient. 6. The powerpoint animations get published without any compromise on quality. 7. The weekly webinars that introduce us to more tips and knowledge about the software

What do you dislike about iSpring Suite?

The slides created in powerpoint that do not use the interactions of iSpring are not responsive. Of course, the quality of these slides when viewed on mobile or tablet is still great.

What problems is iSpring Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?

The major problem tat iSpring solved for us was cutting down the course production cycle. It completely eliminated the step of storyboarding in powerpoint before importing into the authorware. We are now able to develop and publish courses much faster using iSpring. It has also helped us reduce the time to carry out updates to our courses and cut down the trouble of maintaining two versions of our courses - the ppt and the course itself.

"eLearning Becomes a Breeze"
What do you like best about iSpring Suite?

The best thing about iSpring is the user functionality, it makes it so easy for the learner to go back and enhance what they may have missed in-class or their first time running through the lesson.

What do you dislike about iSpring Suite?

The thing that rubs me the wrong way in iSpring is the fact that it is only for Windows. I had to partition my drive on my Mac in order to run the program.

What problems is iSpring Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?

I've been looking for a program with these exact functionalities for a long time. I've tried Articulate Storyline, but I find iSpring kilometers ahead of what we have used in the past.

"ispring Suite 8 and ilearn LMS"
What do you like best about iSpring Suite?

In regard to the product,: the interface is very intuitive and easy for the user (trainee) to access. Administration of content is very straightforward. There are lots of options to customize content. The fact that ipsring tech support is the most "SUPERIOR" support I have had on any product is a huge plus. They respond immediately and see the issue to the end, providing pic and video examples. They truly invest the necessary time to solve issues.

What do you dislike about iSpring Suite?

Just began implementation and ran into a few glitches in creating and uploading content. But, due to the superior support we I have found solutions and work a-rounds.

What problems is iSpring Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?

We were in need of a self-managing training program to conform to our ISO9001/AS9100 quailty standards. Training modules are easy to create in ispring and uploaded to the LMS, ilearn. Users access the training through any computer or mobile device. Which consists of a slide presentation with audio narration, animations, and video. Users complete the training with a quiz Administrators receive or run reports of progress and quiz results.

"iSpring"
What do you like best about iSpring Suite?

iSpring is very easy to use. The after purchase support offered by the company is second to none. We are utilizing iSpring Suite 8 as well as using iSpring Cloud to produce course content for over 3,000 students. We have seamlessly integrated this with SharePoint. The ability to be able to change files without changing linked codes has saved me many hours of work and I can't thank iSpring enough.

What do you dislike about iSpring Suite?

The only improvement at this time that I would like to see is with the tracking functionality. I find that I often time out when trying to find out the number of views and unique views of certain files that I have uploaded. With regards to iSpring Quizzes, I would like to have the ability to format the pages in a more easy manner and also, when the quizzes are viewed on a mobile device, the actual page that we have set up can be viewed. We have put images on the page for the students to answer questions about only to find on the mobile device they can't view the images.

What problems is iSpring Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?

Mainly reliable access for our students and instructors. We used a different program last year for quizzes and it was very hit and miss. You could have two students accessing the same quiz and get two different answers. iSpring Quizzes allows students to have access to their results immediately - no waiting for teachers to mark the practice quizzes. With the hours of testing we have not found these same issues with iSpring quizzes.

ISPRING IS EASY TO USE . They have steady updates and webinars. Our entire eLearning website is ISPRING Based.

What do you dislike about iSpring Suite?

So far no issues, As a user along with 4 other users, we have had a good experience with this product

What problems is iSpring Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have tried the other products, mainly video base. They offer no real interaction and for our rural customers , it took huge download times for a single training video. ISPRING allows for interactive quizzes, Interactive features that keeps the USER involved throughout the course

"Superb interactive technology to make learning efficient, effective and fun"
What do you like best about iSpring Suite?

I took a bit of a risk purchasing the iSpring suite 8. It isn't cheap software. However when you have bought it you realise the potential you have to innovate and enliven lessons - which is definitely worth the money. i am an educator in a large third level college in Northern Ireland. I have produced a number of websites to try and open up learning 24/7 to my pupils and this has been successful - to a point. I found iSpring has filled the gap I couldn't reach. I was able to produce the needed interactivity and pupil response needed to make the websites much more effective. I used the iSpring quiz sections to create a range of quizzes. Pupils love these as end of topic reviews. They make learning fun. iSpring has a large range of quiz questions from multiple choice to missing words to word banks to hot spot sections where pupils have to identify key areas. There are matching and sequencing sections too which are very popular . I publish the quizzes as Flash documents - This literally takes a few seconds. I then upload the flash document to the website and voila you have a fully functioning quiz. This is an example of some of the quizzes - I have not reached the full potential of the software using them but it allows you to get an idea http://www.laganhistory.com/gcse-interactive-quizzes.html I have also used the interactive timeline features which are obviously amazing for a History teacher. You can produce these very easily. These are my examples http://www.laganhistory.com/gcse-timelines.html There are still a large number of areas I am still to use too. The software is superb and I regard it as a very good investment - as do my pupils!!

What do you dislike about iSpring Suite?

The only area that is a problem is the use of flash. This is great on most computers but doesn't work as yet on all iPads and is a technology seemingly on its way out. However, this is being addressed by iSpring using HTML 5 now - I have to work out how to use this

What problems is iSpring Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?

This is fabulous for the e learning market!!

"Excellant Customer Service!"
What do you like best about iSpring Suite?

After I submitted my question via the website someone responded very promptly asking for additional information to assist me with troubleshooting. I also like that the same rep assisted me throughout the duration of my request.

What do you dislike about iSpring Suite?

I have not had anything to complain about, excellent service!

What problems is iSpring Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?

Classroom is currently our main training delivery method. iSpring is opening the door to more training options including some video tutorials I recently created. The software is so easy to use, there is barely a learning curve. If you do have a question they have numerous videos available and excellent customer support!

"iSpring Suite - the best choice for Experience API (aka Tin Can API, aka xAPI) analytics."
What do you like best about iSpring Suite?

Easiness of implementing Experience API into training online material. There is no difficulty in connecting the iSpring output to a given Learning Record Store (LRS).

What do you dislike about iSpring Suite?

There is nothing I dislike. A good feature would be a possibility of adding more "verbs" (Experience API specification) - via iSpring application.

What problems is iSpring Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?

Business problem: Big and Small data, refining information from the internet, quantitative and qualitative approach. Benefit: precise data analytics.

"iSpring Converter for Powerpoint, excellent solution "
What do you like best about iSpring Suite?

The software is the only software I know that manges to transfer "complex" powerpoint presentations with animations to HTML5. It is fairly simple to use. Certainly an advantage that the software works as a plugin in Powerpoint, rather than as a separate desktop application. The iSpring HTML5 output works even better than the original powerpoint file in slideshow mode (it is faster, not lagging as much). The customer servie is excellent. Close to immediate replies and good follow-up on my questions.

What do you dislike about iSpring Suite?

After I signed up from iSpring I received a lot of emails from your consultants asking if I was satisfied or not and if I needed anything. It reached a point were it became asomehow annoying. I wish there was an easier way to publish the presentation without having to subscribe for iSpring Cloud. Our firm already has a cloud service and is not particularly interested in signing up for another similar service that requires monthly payments. In my particular case, I used iSpring Converter for presentation of a research project that was funded by an gouvernmental fund, for a limited time period. However, the publication was meant to be available also after ending of the project funding. Accordingly, signing up for a service that requires monthly payments would not be a good solution.

What problems is iSpring Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?

We wanted to make a non-linear presentation of a specifi theme, that allows the user to click through various parts of the presentation that he/she finds interesting. Powerpoint proved to be a good solution.

"Superior Customer Service"
What do you like best about iSpring Suite?

I have been a long term user of iSpring Suite. Over the years, I have found that the company is dedicated to continually improving their products. I receive frequent updates that include new features as well as product fixes. When I recently had an issue with using the product, I contacted support for assistance. I found the support engineer, Anna, to be very helpful and concerned that I was satisfied before she closed out the support case.

What do you dislike about iSpring Suite?

I had an issue with audio levels on the MP4 videos that I create for my webinars. After discussions with iSpring support, they determined that the audio volume on the MP4 video was connected to the volume of my external speakers during the process of publishing the video. Apparently I was the only one to point out this issue. Hopefully, support will add the solution to this issue to their documentation in case anyone else encounters the issue in the future.

What problems is iSpring Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?

I record webinars used to train banking professionals. iSpring Suite enables me to manage the audio and video directly within PowerPoint. Specifically, the audio timeline helps me to time my webinars. I have tried doing this directly from PowerPoint, but I have to manually add the audio times for each of the slides after the recording is complete to be sure that I haven't exceeded the allotted time for the webinar. iSpring provides the cumulative recorded time in the Manage Narration window.

"Easy to use- especially for those new to authoring!"
What do you like best about iSpring Suite?

Honestly, the chat support and email support are fantastic. I haven't asked a question yet that they didn't have an immediate answer, available screen shots, and a blog post or tutorial to help. I work for a very small company and we develop our training internally. We've only used powerpoint until I got iSpring approved. And it's helped us make high quality elearning modules very quickly, with no stress since the features and layout are familiar. The tools in their Quiz Maker software opened a lot of doors for evaluating employee understanding, and the Simulator enables us to create realistic interactions to train our sales staff and CSRs. That type of experiential training before we put them in front of a client has built their confidence tremendously, and we're seeing the results of the training in the shortened onboarding period.

What do you dislike about iSpring Suite?

So far, I haven't disliked anything. As I learn the tools, I'm sure there will always be things we 'want', but so far, I haven't found anything that would hinder my ability to create professional quality training.

What problems is iSpring Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?

Even though my company is small, we've widely dispersed. So, for us, the ability to build a library of reproducible training for anyone to access and complete at a time that's convenient for them is a huge help. Until now, we've used video conferencing or traveled to deliver training. While we will continue to hold traditional, instructor-led courses for the major training, we plan to channel reviews and refreshers, as well as on-demand content, to our LMS with eLearning content.

"a great versatile software that is seamless and easy to use."
What do you like best about iSpring Suite?

I love the accuracy with which the effects and animations are converted when converting the powerpoint to an exe format

What do you dislike about iSpring Suite?

I would like to see an alternative protection feature, apart from the date limitation, which can easily be circumvented by changing the date on the computer to access the file.

What problems is iSpring Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?

Finding ways to make the course content available to customers. Now with iSpring I can convert my presentations to a number of formats, making it versatile for different needs of our customers.
