Before using supermetrics, we had to do all of our social reporting manually. I really appreciate that it's easy to set up and pull metrics across a variety of platforms and have them automatically updated throughout the day. I also like that you can change the reporting directly within Google Sheets.
Because we're pulling a large volume of data, sometimes the refreshes take a while. Additionally, occasionally Supermetrics will go down and crash meaning that our reporting is behind. However, these crashes are infrequent.
The problem solved using supermetrics was to decrease the amount of time spent manually reporting out Key Performance Indicators. With Supermetrics we're able to pull hourly/daily stats automatically.
I like automation of campaign reports on a daily basis.
Supermetrics is a little more expensive. Sometimes it fails in functions.
We wanted some tool for automation marketing reports. We can control basic metrics daily and also make client reports more easily. We use Supermetrics for BigQuery too.
The variety of connectors already available out of the box ready to be used and start your way to a data-driven company with almost no code need it, and that includes automation.
In some particular scenarios, the Spreadsheet add-on feels a little buggy, and when an error occurs, there is little information provided to troubleshoot I belive that adding a better log could help.
Connecting many tools that we use for our daily operation into one place allows us to drive our work to achieve our goal based on KPIs and performance. If every person in our company has more knowledge of how they are doing their job, the company has more value.
What I like best is the fact that we can so many different data connectors and aggregate all the data in one specific place. It is also a very easy to use tool.
I do not like that they are proposing paying for individual tools instead of bundling them under one price range. As a marketer it is very difficult to pick and choose certain tools you want data from.
We have been able to gather all of the data in Microsoft Excel and create the graphs that we want instead of using another company's template. We are a lot more productive in terms of the time it takes us to collect data.
Connect to data studio very easily and pull the data in a clean format that can be used directly
a little expensive and limited times to edit crendential owners
create reports
Automating reports to update every week/month saves me so much time. I mainly pull from Shopify & GA
Not all metrics are available or correct. E.g. Shopify is limited & klaviyo is very poor.
Time-saving and efficiency There is far less space for human error in reporting
Very simple connections and reliability.
Different liscenses and logins / consolidation.
Day to day dat management.
The fact that it is already linked to many platforms, so it becomes a one-stop-shop for all things marketing related. Also, using the queries is easy and intuitive.
It lacks a few basic features that would really help us on data management, such as more control on picking an update time for the queries, and knowing the update time will remain the same and not change over time.
We can see our costs from lead acquisition to purchase, knowing exactly which campaigns and ads are performing better every step of the way. Also, we were able to solve a problem we had connecting Tableau and Google Analytics, since the update for the native connection would not happen automatically. We were able to use Supermetrics for Google Sheets and update it hourly.
Data integration made easier, thankfully.
How some metrics I require don't go together
Easier to build dashboards with useful metrics in one place
Supermetrics is an extremely helpful tool for digital marketers and agencies. It allows you to download your advertising performance data into Sheets, Excel, Big Query, Data studio, and other platforms for analysis and reporting.
We have been using Supermetrics for years so we are pretty advanced users. Sometimes we run into specific issues / bugs, but for the most part, the system works quite well and is a huge time-saver. Specifically, trigger reliability, dimension caching & combine new with old have been problematic at times.
Streamline reporting workflow and datasets. Building tools to analyze digital marketing performance across all ad platforms, Google Analytics, etc. We usually pull data into Google Sheets and then use Data Studio for visualization.
My best is the simplicity creating connections and data mashup in my repots
The platform is very slow accessing the data at times. Having to process the data every time penalizes it compared to more traditional BI solutions
Create reports in data studio to control and analyze the performance and return of our websites as well as the return on investment in advertising on the network.
I like that it can be integrated different kinds of marketing platforms like google ads, facebook etc. I can see all the spend and ROI information together with this tool .
Some channels do not exist like RTB HOuse, the tool should be more useful and get integrated with other local tools. Also, it was hard to get supoort too. It must be developped.
I am using it to see all the marketing spend together; I am getting all the marketing channels together and analyze their performance quickly. It can be directly integrated with them
May possible sources, mostly easy to handle.
For some sources you only have a trial and you have to buy them extra.
You have to refresh the connections regularly because of new metrics or changes from the social media channels
It just works.Social networks have changed many times since I plugged Supermetrics in, and it has always been smooth changes Plus all new features from APIs are injected.
Real lack of documentation per channel, with detailed informations about fields, and their meaning. Sometimes you have to take wild guess about what figure mean, as they might be reinterepreted from the one from social networks
Mainly to inject data into datastudio from multiple sources where there isn't any datastudio native connector. But also to hydrate data on google sheets, before injecting it in DS
Has the best integrations to all major ad platforms
Gets expensive when you need to add additional connectors
Time saving automation
I love being able to pull fb data to our google sheets! Automatically and every day without any other hassles
It can break a lot of times without any reason and we have to manually fix it
We solved having to manually input our data
The ability to connect LinkedIn to Data Studio is hugely beneficial to us
There are certain metrics that do not pull through correctly or at all in some cases. This can be frustrating when trying to display results as the LinkedIn dashboard itself isn't great either.
We use Google Data Studio, which LinkedIn does not connect directly with. Supermetrics solves this problem.
The pre-made templates, quick integration, and community forums.
The pay model could be more clear. When purchasing my "inputs" I didn't grasp that one platform would take up multiple and if more accounts would count towards those.
Automating our reporting. We have specific KPI's for each platform and this allowed us to have a very specific automated report for each platform.
Large list of connectors and service uptime.
Change in pricing plans and connector distribution in plans.
Making reports in Google Data Studio, with multiple connectors outside Google's provided.
Cloud data platform connectors are now available like S3 on amazon
No timezone support in North America at the moment
The biggest use case for us is to be able to report on marketing spend
