Compare Amplitude Analytics with other popular tools in the same category.
Ability to create cohorts from the data and then compare it to the whole data set
Sometimes the server crashes and we have to wait a tad long to get our data
Easy way of creating dashboards that we can monitor daily
The self-serve nature of the product is great. If I need to pull any product data quickly, I can do so without needing an analyst to come in and support the ask.
Creating views is not as intuitive as some other programs I've used but I wouldn't say it should be a deterrent for anyone. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy to use!
The biggest pain point as a business user is the reliance on an analyst to pull product data you need. Amplitude makes it relatively easy for us to pull quick product usage data.
Easy to use, quick support, and new product offerings as per the market trend.
Sometimes they are down and slow. And bugs on new features.
Gives me the complete status of our game, players and how new features are performing.
Amplitude Analytics helped our company get a deeper understanding of user behavior in a way we did not have previously. Amplitude Experiments has completely changed how we test and launch next features and helped our product org be more data-driven when it comes to making decisions. Amplitude's tools are accessible and easy to use while being incredibly powerful under the hood.
Amplitude had a slightly higher barrier to entry when it comes to implementation and pricing but you get what you pay for and once our team was familiar with the implementation it became easy for us to add new tracking over time. Their Data tool is also great for self-service changes that product managers, etc, can leverage without needing engineering intervention.
We're now able to evaluate and test new opportunities in a scientific test and learn methodology that we were previously unable to. We are able to arm our internal and external teams with data and insights about adoption, performance, activation, retention, etc in a way that is simple and easy to understand.
Amplitude is incredibly easy for me despite not having much statistical savviness. I really like the use of properties in our tracking plan to help get detailed about what we are tracking. Their team provided us with a demo and training on how to use amplitude to get the most out of it, which was super helpful. It's also an easy user experience.
I am not particularly sure if there is a downside. Personally, it's a little bit technical for me to do on my own, but our team helps out a bunch and makes it easy to track what we want to see.
Amplitude helps us understand the data behind our user's use. We can do user research and get lots of qualitative data but having quantitative data of what is actually happening on the app provides a deep level of insight that might not come out when people self-report how they use our app.
As shown in my title, the flexibility of Analytics is my favorite part about it. The many insights it can give and active updating of new tools and options as well as the forums ("in-app" explanations, Amplitude community) as well as the ability of Amplitude team to swiftly answer complex questions within minutes.
Some tools have their limits: cohorts can't be dynamic within "rolling" time periods (only 30 last days, not last month or last week, kind of with an offset), and in dashboards and notebooks, the metrics and presentation can get messy.
The constant implementation of new options and tools that solve issues we have not discovered yet, and the reactivity of the support that answer any question quickly, clearly and in a very smart way, sometime using Amplitude Demo (AmpliTunes) which I was familiar with thanks to Amplitude Academy, which made me familiar with Analytics in an evening.
Amplitude has helped us better understand the users' behavior across our app. It can tell us the biggest hurdles in our funnel process and where they are doing.
It's a tool that needs more widely available training resources, which slows adoption across other teams. Also, it lacks a community hub (or we are not aware of one) where you can discuss everyday use cases or tips to improve analysis
It provides funnel and session base analytics that helps us map the user journey across the app. This has helped us identify the biggest hurdles in our process, which we then improve on. Latter, we can see if those changes improve our metrics
It's so easy to use, no code needed - which helps us also create a data-driven environment within the company.
Sometimes I do want to create some charts that are not available - LTV, more flexible ARPU charts, etc. I know it's not a BI tool, but since all our data is sent to Amplitude and it became our tool for data visualization, these BI capabilities are missing.
Comparison between groups of users, monitoring KPIs (in general and over time), alerting us regarding bugs and issues in the data and the product, and creating simple visualizations that are easy to understand also for employees that are not necessarily data-persons.
Friendly UI, quick to load, plus lots of settings that Google Analytics and other tools don't have.
I'd like to see more tips and support articles within the platform to help with troubleshooting.
Amplitude helps me and my team analyze website performance, marketing performance and attribution, and more.
The option to see the events I did just now and choose from them.
I'm having a hard time understanding what graph type would be best.
They are giving me the option to get insights from my data without using code.
