The customer support is truly fantastic. They have the option for chat, phone support, and email. Their times vary on which support services are available. Yet they are quick to respond via email (within 24 hours... most of the time within 12 hours), when you cannot reach them via chat or phone. The customer support heroes are personable, very nice, quick to help and solve problems. It is always a pleasure to talk with them.
They are slow to address issues with their coding. For instance there are several employee profile tabs, tables, and reports that are standard and hard-coded for all customers. There are several issues and ways that these standard features can be improved. When brought up customer support will "send a product" request for you and direct you to submit your own request for improvement. I have yet to see an issue be be resolved or recieved feedback if something that has been suggested will be fixed. For example most standard reports identify employee data lines with "lastname", "Preferred name" or "lastname", "Firstname" if no preferred name. which is not an option to select in custom reports. It would be more accurate and also better for indexing across different reports for employee # to be in standard tables. I have never recieved feedback that this will be address and solved for, which is a shame because it shouldn't be a hard adjustment for BambooHR developers to make the product more user-friendly.
BambooHR is our HRIS. It is serving as the source of truth for all of our employee data. It allows us to pull custom reports to identify many company needs; such as: Compensation normalization, Departments, Staff location, Staff entity, gender/pay equality data. Honest because you can creat custom tables in BHR it makes data recording very specific, and data analysis quite easy.
I enjoy that I can identify and recruit new employees and instruct them on how to set up and handle their payroll and review their benefits. Bamboo enables employees to modify their W4 and direct deposit information on their own, saving us a great deal of time. I enjoy this program.
Multiple team members have complained that the automated logout time is too short, which is irritating. Apart from that, though, it has been perfect!
It allows us to keep track of everything in one location. We can save employee information and maintain way of their perks. Additionally, we utilize the add-on for performance management, which is an enormous benefit.
The ease with which the platform allows employees to understand the types of leaves, the leaves policy and the tracking system. It allows breaks the barrier of requesting leaves through email and providing reasons for taking the leaves.
BambooHR allows the employees to not just track and administer the number of leaves under each category but builds a culture of transparancy between the employee and the manager when requesting for leaves. Imagine an employee without this system, the employee has to write a detailed email and provide rationale about the leaves which makes it tough for the individual to take leaves. However the easy, one click system to request leaves and approve leaves make the hassel of building rationales and unneeded hesitance to request for leaves a thing of the past.
The easy and transparency to request and approve leaves. This enables the employees to not feel the need to rationalize their leaves and the administration can categories the leaves of the organization for employee's to quickly choose and request.
Gets the HR Job Done. I like all the options to control and store info which is also a curse. Being able to survey our teams and do reviews is very helpful. We also like that we can prepare to an extent for payroll, taxes, ORS and other items in here as well.
Trax and BHR integration is a mess. When in BHR it tells me to chat or call in. I wait for a few minutes to get a reply, tell my store and then get told... "Not my Job, please call Trax". Why it's in BHR and Trax is owned/ integrated into BHR, you should know it better. Lots of options to the point of to many like in the Admin section when setting up Groups, Teams, Roles, Departments, and so much more. If you don't know what you are doing you can set up conflicting things and the system will NOT tell you it is conflicting and it's hard to know until someone speaks up that they don't have access or view rights.

BambooHR is a comprehensive HRIS that is easy to use. While not an ATS, you can post to job boards, create job URLs, and quickly bring in a candidate for consideration and onboarding. What we liked is that Bamboo allowed our small admin team to deliver corporate class HR managment capacities. Company announcements, off-boarding, and document uploads, we found BambooHR a pleasant experience and at a very cost-effective price. Also, the support is very friendly.
We had no major dislikes. I would say it is near perfect for traditional HR teams but not for a staffing agency. One dislike that comes to mind is the ability for employees to digitally sign documents is a little clunky. We found ourselves relying on Pandadoc to get the signature and then uploading the doc into Bamboo.
BambooHR makes onboarding a new hire very easy, especially if they are onboarding in person. All their templates are customizable, and it does a good job at automating the workflow.
It makes our onboarding process streamlined and simple.

Everything is centralized. Our onboarding process is now so easy! We are now able to request feedback from our employees and to improve the quality of our service as a company.
The payroll could be much better and aligned with the reality of each country. E.g.: in Portugal, we don't have any elderly templates like in the USA, and for that reason we cannot make the best use of this tool.

BambooHR is colourful, celebratory, and designed around ever-improving work culture. IT celebrates birthdays and anniversaries and conducts quarterly NPS scores, whilst ensuring the highest levels of confidentiality towards the employees.
I believe the performance management module is missing more flexibility. Unlike an NPS score, performance management differs greatly from one organization to the other.
BambooHR provides everyone in the organization clarity on who is who keeps a record of our work (through timesheets), sick leaves, vacation leaves and public holidays in a paperless system. We manage our entire talent-acquisition process and performance management through BambooHR.

That if you wish to make changes to forms in existance there are many times to which they have to just put it on the list for later and state cant be done now.
They are always available for questions and answers various ways either thru Chat, or thru Phone.

Everything we need as a small company exists allowing the process of an ATS to employee conversion and then personnel management.
The system can be a little finicky if close a tab without completing the data, requiring assistance from customer service, but they are super fast and helpful.
Tracking candidates in the hiring process is simple and keeps me in one database, then converting them to employees is simple. I stay in one database, so does the candidate when he/she becomes and employee.
The availability of information directly from the net of your employees
The constant changes within the functionality of the application. While we understand the need to improve functions and processes, it is sometimes difficult to navigate where a process has been completely changed up or to locate the help link for the particular change

Bamboo HR is great to manage the company's data base , employee leaves , performance , Onboarding and Offboarding all in one place . It's simple and clean and easy to use !
We use Bamboo for Mabaging our Hiring as well and it would be nice if it could integrate better with LinkedIn / Anglelist and other hiring sites. We have to download resumes from all those places and put it back into Bamboo -which is quite cumbersome and time consuming ! Searching for an easier way to do that
Our Leave management system was all over the place - being managed on excel sheets etc by the Leads and there used to be issues if someone missed to communicate - all that has been resolved by tracking leaves on Bamboo !
I like how user-friendly it is both for the admins and for the users. It simplified a lot of processes for us and we're able to depend on it to streamline a lot of our HR work.
Sometimes I get surprised by limitations, especially when trying to run certain reports. Overall, there isn't much that we dislike, so we have to knit-pick to answer this question.
It helps us keep all of our information in one place. We can store employee documentation and keep track of benefits. We also use the performance managament add-on which is a huge plus!

BambooHR is an easy, simple, and straightforward tool to manage employees' information, manage remuneration, and share company culture and values. It can be used to send automated reminders, track employee satisfaction, and streamline the onboarding of new employees by creating tasks and assigning them to the concerned people. The employees can go into their profiles and update their information themselves. The tool also gives an insight into how many employees are there in a department/location/division of the company. I have found it easy to request time-offs and also quickly see how many days of time-offs I have. It is also a one-stop for quickly checking whos out today. As a manager, I don't have to keep a track of my reports' birthdays and work anniversaries because BambooHR sends me a timely reminder. The HR team can use it to get electronic signatures on changes to the policies, and processes of the company. This eliminates the need of using a lot of paper and saves time for employees and the management. You can use it for setting/tracking quarterly goals, and performance reviews without having to do a lot of automation. BambooHR does not require time to understand its features and options. The learning curve is not that steep.
The tool has elegant and simple features which means that you cannot customize them. For example, I cannot add or customize the questions for quarterly reviews. You will have to use the questions that are built into the tool. Because of this, the performance reviews might not include all aspects of employee assessment. I cannot carry out 360 Degree Feedback evaluation. I will have to use a separate tool for the 360-degree review. Also, it would have been nice if there was an option to do scheduling from the tool. If you have a big team and you want to see their information, you will have to either do a lot of back and forth or open reports profiles in different tabs. I wish they had made it easier by allowing the profile to load on the same page.
I am a user of the tool and mostly use it for requesting time-offs, tracking goals and progress of my reports, checking their information, conducting the quarterly assessments, etc. Overall, I am happy with the features that the tool offers as it does what I need it to do.

I like BambooHR for the following reasons: To keep track of the personal information of employees. Employees have easy access to it. It is not difficult to use the digital signature option. It allows the creation of a directory of employees, as well as requests for time off. It is useful to recognize new employees. Track birthdays and anniversaries as well as paid time off initiatives and employee pay rate records.
I dislike how the BambooHR web app is often disconnected for security concerns; this issue may be rectified. I'd like BambooHR to incorporate all of the functionality available in the online app into the mobile app.
