Really has made our lives easier toget documents signed.
The customer service, response time, ease of updating your account and just plain good ole communication from them is horrific.
Signing docs
Mobility grows at the great extent and not only this feature of communication

I love how you can get digital signatures without the need to be in person.
The expense. This tool costs significantly hirer than what the ROI provides.
the ability to have documents like NDAs and others signed without having to print and scan.
I really like the product. Easy to access, even on my mobile device. Easy to upload forms and send for signature.
I want to upgrade from an Individual level to a Professional level, but they are requiring that I pay for each level in full, instead of upgrading and just paying the difference. I only just purchased the account a month ago! So, right now I don't believe it is feasible for me to have paid $120 for the Individual account and now have to pay an additional $240 to upgrade. Customer service said they could TRY and submit a ticket to refund the difference, but that it wouldn't be guaranteed. No thank you.

Unlimited template with standard plan and possibility of multiple users
Repeat bug in the program. The interface is not user-friendly. Way more expensive that other esignature program. Not possible to cancel your plan before the end of your cycle billing.
Sending multiple forms a day with one click
I liked that I could view my document at a later time.
I disliked needing to create an account. I have too many emails and passwords to keep track of.
They helped cancel my gym membership during COVID. That really helped.
The ability to sign documents electronically
It is expensive as hell. It never worked on my outlook and for us to integrate it with salesforce was highway robbery per person.
Electronic document signatures. The benefits were reducing signatures in person.
That I can get e-signatures for contracts without faxes and emails.
I just spent 20 minutes trying to get a Docusign to recognize that I am the signer. I should not have to relog in to sign a document that I am the initiator.
Getting business contracts signed with ease.
Lawyer-approved online solution for contracts.
High cost and strange contract/plan terms. Terrible customer support. Can be confusing for contracts that require signatures from multiple parties.
It has greatly minimized the back and forth on legal documents. It's something people can do on their phone, so no excuses. Saves so much time!
Able to send docs out for signature. Better then faxing.
UI could be improved. Very inconvenient to make changes.
simplifying sales proccess
It is still easy to use out of the box, and has a deep integration with Salesforce
We literally can't get it to work. We have a straightforward need to send 10-12 documents out for signature from our SF sales platform, and there is an Apex error in the app. Docusign acknowledges it shouldn't be happening, but has no fix. After 3 months we gave up and are moving to another esign solution.
Should be pulling fields from Accounts and a few custom objects, so that client can renew their contract easily with us
We have been using the base paid plan for several years. Base product is good enough. Reliable. Gets the job done. Everyone knows DocuSign.
Even the base plan is significantly more expensive than the competition. Customer support is really poor when you need help. I recently logged a ticket for an urgent issue and it has been two business days and no one has responded.
Signing sales contracts.
DocuSign is easy to use, understand and manage
The customer service is the worst I have ever experienced, and there is no help. The account managers do not explain things to you, and they are not customer-friendly.
The software is manageable for computer savvy or less experienced users. It is very reliable and effecient.
Docusign is a great e-sign tool if you are using it through the Docusign portal or with Salesforce classic - but it does NOT work for lightning. You have to code a custom button just to get a button to show up - then you have to use a crazy workaround because they have a "bug" that prevents you from adding attachments normally.
Does not work with Salesforce lightning. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life.
Sending contracts for e-signature through Salesforce. Keeping records of our contracts through auto saving with the integration.
I do not have many likes for this platform because I never had the chance to fully use the product before switching to Adobe. If I had to name something, I'd say one thing I liked was the ability to save paper by not having to print a document to sign.
Recently, I was sent a legal document to sign off on by realtor and was unable to access the document on the first try. When I tried to close the window and reopen to the document, I was then locked out of the signing process. It took two days for their customer support to email me back and I'll I heard were excuses.
The intent of using their service was to gain the ability to electronically sign legal documents and speed up the review process. Unfortunately, this benefit was not gained and I spent more time emailing and calling customer support.
You can sign documents with it and it does work.
I was able to find several competitors with lower prices over 50% cheaper. Also when you compare the interfaces docusign is not the most intuitive design. We had to make a custom integration and it was a nightmare we got very little to no documentation. Then had to go through a review process where they told us everything we needed to change and the requirements. This info would have been great in the beginning stages. If doing something custom with docusign ask about the requirements before hand and demand a list be sent to you.
Contract Signing
There were very few upsides about DocuSign over other e-signature options. We had a corporate account, with 3600 signatures and 1500 KBA signatures over 3 years.
The Docusign Interface is truly awful. They made us pay for training, but then dumped us into their "legacy" system. We could not easily view documents that other users had sent. We had to search through the other user account, search through individual sections of "Waiting for Others" "Completed" etc. You couldn't just search for the recipient name and find what you were looking for. There was no way to see how many envelopes we had left. When we tried to contact support, it was more than 5 business days before we received a response, and we had to follow up to get that. You can't cancel out of your contract or refund unused envelopes on a corporate contract. Docusign is so bad that we have decided to move on to another program and eat the cost of the unused envelopes. Their pricing on corporate accounts is not particularly competitive.
We needed bulk E-signatures.
The product itself is basic and gets the job done, although I'd prefer for it to be a bit more intuitive.
Their unsatisfactory customer service experience and the unresolved account issue that my company has been facing. Despite multiple attempts to seek assistance, we have received little to no response or resolution, and this matter has been ongoing since April. To provide a brief overview, our company was contacted by a sales representative from DS, who aggressively pushed for an upgrade to the enterprise account with a two-year commitment. We were promised additional licenses and the same payment amount as our current plan. However, instead of upgrading our existing web account, a new account was opened without our consent or authorization. Since discovering this error, I have been in constant communication with the sales representative, seeking a resolution by requesting the web account to be upgraded and the new account to be closed. Unfortunately, the sales representative has ceased all communication and failed to address our concerns. Frustratingly, despite escalating the case to the regional manager, we have experienced significant delays and weeks pass by before we receive any response, which has resulted in substantial financial losses for our startup company. The lack of professionalism and urgency displayed by DS's customer service team is extremely disheartening. We have diligently followed all the necessary steps to resolve this matter, and yet, we find ourselves paying for two accounts without any tangible progress toward a resolution. This situation not only violates the trust we had in DS but also disrupts our business operations, as we have hundreds of documents and files tied to the original account.
Obtaining signatures remotely.
That you can have clients attach documents
I hate that it cost so much money for a lot of signitures
It's not beneficial to us at this time as we are looking for something else to use
DocuSign makes it easy to review and sign contracts, and even easier to send contracts to client for review and signatures.
Absolutely brutal customer service and support. They will get in touch ~ 5 days before contract renewal and be very persistent about signing up. After you do, it is impossible to get through to anyone, even if it is to try to pay your bill. Would recommend looking at alternative solutions due to the non-existent customer support.
Collecting signatures from clients on authorization forms and contract. Our business is fully remote, and DocuSign handles obtaining any signatures required.
It makes it easier to send out documents to sign and increases the likelyhood that someone will return the signed document, but this would be true of any other e-signature software as well.
When DocuSign was initially set up for our organization, it was integrated with Salesforce and worked well. However, this integration capability was suddenly revoked from us without any notification. By going through a process with support to try and fix the integration, it was discovered that this now requires an upgrade to their Business Pro plan plus a Salesforce Connect add-on. There seemed to be confusion between their support team and sales team as to which features were required, and overall, the communication from their team was unclear. We're highly disappointed with their customer support and lack of communication on changes in plans and pricing.
Sending out documents to sign and retrieving signatures easily for our end user.
Easy to use but so is every other signature software.
I reached out to support, letting them know I removed a user, but their "seat" was still on the account and that I was concerned, I would be charged. They told me the system would update automatically and not to worry about it. Of course, it didn't, and I was overcharged on my next bill. I reached back out to support, explained the problem, and asked for a partial refund and to remove the additional seat. They opened a ticket and said they removed the seat and that I would receive a refund within 10-14 business days. I reached back out 3 weeks later as I had not received the refund. The lady in support told me their finance department was backed up and that they hadn't begun processing my refund yet. I logged into my bank account today to see the monthly charge from Docusign, overcharged again. Not only have they not refunded me, but they didn't fix the problem and overcharged me again.
Sending contracts for employees and clients.
I convinced my school to adopt DocuSign as our primary method of collecting required student & parent forms at the start of the school year. The ease of gathering these documents digitally as opposed to hard copies appealed to us very much and worked for the most part at the start of last school year.
Unfortunately, the was a major issue in the way that DocuSign organized the bulk forms as they came in. We could not get their system to alert us in a timely fashion as new forms were being submitted by families. Instead, new forms would be "dumped" into a folder and I would have to search for individual forms, rather than their system organizing them in the timeline that they came in. I requested their tech support on this issue multiple times, but never received a satisfactory resolution. As a result, we decided not to continue using their product. But when I called to request that they let us out of the three-year contract that they required us to sign, I was told that they would not release us and that we would need to continue paying for their service even though we were not using at all.
Again, we anticipated DocuSign helping us move into the modern era with digital form collection. Unfortunately, they could not provide us a method of doing so that worked with our specific needs in an educational environment. DocuSign is still charging us for their product despite my repeated pleas for them to release us from the extended contract so that we can put those funds towards desperately needed school security updates.
Functionality of the program is easy to use. The support side not so much.
The support team is useless. I've been trying to get a refund and have opened two support cases, and two months later, still no refund. Their lack of communication between their own departments is terrible. I have wasted so much time trying to resolve this issue. It really shouldn't be this difficult to lodge a refund!
None at the moment because I am wasting my time trying to receive a refund.
The software is great. We've not really had any issues with the software functioning how we need it to. It has a lot of features and its easy to use. I think Docusign is considered the industry's go-to, although other options are popping up regularly. We have switched to PandaDoc and have found that they have many of the same features and is just as easy to use. I think for someone using the standard plans sold through their website, it's probably a great service. We used an enterprise level plan and had a horrible experience.
Our experience with the Support Team and Account Managers has been truly awful. They messed up our billing and then wanted to come to us and have us pay twice so that they can fix their accounting and mark the usage paid in the right quarter. The request was completely unprofessional. This was also after I had worked with two other account managers in a matter of 5 months. Our account manager changed so often that each time, I would have to explain what had previously happened because they came to us asking for payment for something already paid for. It seems that the departments do not communicate well, even though there are regular staffing changes. And when I worked with the Support Team, they would direct me to our Account Manager. I had only contacted the Support Team initially because our Account Manager told me to. As a Director level employee at my company, this is a tremendous waste of my time and the company's money.
We send contracts to our customers for certain services. We used an integration so documents are automatically sent when requested by our client. It helped us outsource that task as we needed.
Stripe integration, mobile app, nothing more
I've been trying to contact support of DocuSign for a month. Unfortunately without success. I just need one simple thing - invoice correction. I couldn't get anything done. I've spent many hours on this one simple problem. I opened chat sessions, help tickets and all I get are alerts that my topic has been closed and a few satisfaction surveys. Am I a joke to you? I've been struggling for a month just to change one line of text on the invoice and I can't get it done! I'm terrified of what will happen if the client needs more help. What kind of company treats a paying customer like this?
signing documents and collecting payments
Honestly, the product itself is a solid one, I won't argue with that. We used DocuSign for more than a year. It was a bit on the pricy side but very reliable, there is a reason that Docusign is a market leader. At the time we used DocuSign we were still developing our business processes after establishing our business. The initial use and setup were easy and we began using it to sign file transfer authorizations remotely. Docusign let us sit outside a normal plan for a couple of months as we had to transition files over to the new business by contacting old clients for permission for file transfers. Docusign allowed us to have an initial larger volume than normal which ebbed off after the initial use over a couple of months. We appreciated the help they gave us while building up a new business process and thought that we were set for future use.
After close to a year DocuSign decided to tell us that due to the initial usage with extra document signing in the first couple of months, the usage that they had previously established as an exception, they would not allow us to continue on a lower-tier plan as our yearly amount exceeded the allowed documents as well as increase their price significantly across a number of plans. This was after our usage had dropped below the required threshold to meet the lower plan and was very unlikely to return to the high initial volume we had in our first two months. Although we disliked the idea we were willing to accept at least for the time being we would have to pay more. This changed when a sales or customer service rep told us that they could charge a Canadian law firm whatever they wanted as we were stuck with them anyway due to Canadian law society regulations quoting an out-of-date legal reference. It used to be that in a number of Canadian provinces law firms had to keep data stored within Canada and Docusign was the only E-Signature platform with servers within Canada. This regulation had recently changed allowing us to store data elsewhere with client permission and the Docusign employee was obnoxious enough to threaten a law firm with legal references. We looked at alternatives and found that Hellosign came with our Clio licences for free anyways and immediately transitioned. It's unfortunate that what we experienced with Docusign employees was an attitude of "we don't need to care about the customers because they don't have any alternative anyway." This type of interaction is the kind that hurts a business long-term and slowly erodes market share if not kept in check. I hope that such an obnoxious manner of approaching businesses in certain industries such as law or health is addressed quickly as such attitude will be met with resentment from their customers. When a customer can leave in a situation like the above they will.
We previously used Docusign to complete almost all our signature needs for clients. We are a nearly paperless law firm and rarely feel the need to have clients visit a lawyer directly outside of trials and pretrials. We can confidently service western Canada knowing that some clients can live and work 100s of miles from our physical location. Now Hellosign serves that need instead of Docusign.
The Docusign help center is not existing online. They have a special second platform where you need to log in. There is nothing like chatting online with support or a phone number to the support center.
I had a problem, and any FAQ or Support did not help to solve it. After hours of searching, I tried to contact the help center which is a nightmare. Literally they don't have customer support for customers with problems.
E-signature for crucial documents online. But there are many other solutions doing the same thing online. I would never recommend it to anyone docusing as it has no help center.
Could add lots of different fields. There are options to add payments, etc. if you should choose.
We signed up for the unlimited, most expensive, plan they offer. We send a lot of proposals, but only about 20% are signed. They have a hidden limit and said we were way over it. They wanted over $5000 a year to continue. NOPE.
None. We discontinued using the program. It was nice to send everything electronically, but there are lots of programs out there that do it for much cheaper.
The interface is well laid out and intuitive.
The fact that it sometimes simply does not work. The support team's answer is "use a different browser", "go incognito" and "clear the cache" and re-try everything. This is time-consuming and I have yet to send a successful document for signatures to my team.
At the moment, DocuSign is not functioning at all despite several attempts working with DocuSign support.
