I love the versitility GoTo provides. I work a hybrid schedule - half the week at the office and half the week from home. At the office, I work from a desktop and a landline phone that utilizes GoTo. From home, I work from a laptop with the GoTo URL and my cell phone with the GoTo app. GoTo allows me to seamlessly utilize my work phone, laptop, and cell phone to communicate with my coworkers, consumers, and businesses with ease.
There are days where the connection can be spotty - dropped calls and the like.
Being able to make calls anywhere in a way that utilizes my work number has been incredibly helpful. I use a variety of devices and no matter which I use, when I make a call, the person or business I am calling can see that I am representing my organization.
Reliability and ease of use. Have connected from all over the world with no issues as long as I have internet. Also easy to transfer files. I have only used the VPN as a "competitor" so I cannot really say how they compare to others in the market.
Can't think of anything that I dislike. Never really had an issue over 16 years.
It as mentioned above, allows me to login from anywhere in the world. I am able to do payroll, etc. anywhere, anytime. I can also connect to solve problems easily. Our VPN is not as reliable.
I really have found it to be vital in maintaining communication with my clients. It's very helpful for clients to be able to text my business number and have multiple people on staff be able to see and respond to the texts. Also, it has been very valuable to be able to have virtual phone services that are connected to both my landline and cell phone so that way we make sure that we answer customer calls when they come in, with the flexibility to put them on a schedule so we're answering phones at certain locations when it is convenient for us.
The web interface and the app sometimes are inconsistent. Sometimes it's difficult to access the same information from both places.
I think the biggest problem that it solves is making me accessible and available no matter where I am when people call my office number. Instead of only being able to answer calls when I am physically in the office, it allows me now to answer calls from anywhere whenever I wish to. I also enjoy the fact that I can schedule availability so that way if I am in the office I get a call in my office, but when I'm on my cell out of the office I can receive a call. But, if I don't wish to receive a call and want to, say, forward the calls to my answering service during certain times of the day, I can do that too.
GoToConnect provides flexibility through different means to use your GoToConnect Account. Our non-technical users use a desk phones. Those more savy on-the-go users use the GoToConnect mobile app and take full advantage of Voicemail to email with transcription. From the Telcom-Admin side of things, the admin portal is easy to use, and I like being able to change the caller ID for a phone line when a new user is added to it.
We have some very convenient features, like using a dial plan to forward Faxes to a third-party efax provider to receive and ingest them into our eMAR system. What I dislike the most is that we tend to get many complaints about faxes failing when we forward them through a dial plan, and it is tough to troubleshoot where the call is failing. To increase reliability, we bring the fax reception back into the GoToConnect PBX. This leads me to my least favorite part. There is little to no history of faxes that come and go through the system. We are a medical company; this history is critical to proving compliance with HIPPA and demonstrating that we have sent or not received the requested information. This history is so important; we are paying another provider to send and in some cases, receive our faxes.
Unified communication is great. It allows us to reduce our reliance on landlines to receive and send faxes. It enables users to be mobile with their work extension and phone number through an app on their cell phone, protecting their private contact info. It allows them to be easily reachable while working and gives them the option to disconnect when they are off.
Our phone number is forwarded to our scheduling service. This service picks up any missed calls allowing our customers to leave a message while receiving an automated text message from us. From the app or web interface, I can manage everything. Helps us a lot with our small business so that we can grow.
Once in a while, my return text messages to customers do not go thru or do not show up on my phone for a bit, leaving me wondering if the text went thru.
I have no other issues to resolve currently. The benefit of have a centralized place to handle and go through all my calls has been a time saver.
The eas of set up was so easy. In no time we had call groups, schedules and priorities set up for a few different numbers we display to various customers.
Not even sure if this is something that's related to them, or our other systems. But sometimes the calls take longer to connect than I'd want to wait if I was the customer.
Not having to display individual team members cell phone numbers to the world, but still allowing the world to connect with them on our terms. Based on schedules, the system can set the proper expectations for callers.
It doesn't matter what device I am on I can make and receive calls on nearly any device.
The app - when I change status i often have to refresh the app.

I love the backend phone system, automated attendant.
