It is very flexible and fitted really well with agile work we carry out at our organisation. It supports kanban as well as standard sprint planning work flow and is quite flexible. It is extremely useful for project planning and creating user stories. These are saved in the backlog and you can sort them by their weight, estimate and priority.Easy to raise and track bugs and plan new sprint.
It is a bit over complicated as it offers a lot of flexible functionalities like switching between kanban and sprint boards for project planning and it takes a while for the user to get accustomed to it. It also requires a bit of training at first but it is worth the time and learning curve. Also, it is not very cheap and if you have a large team, the bills add up quickly as you need to pay for each user individually.
It aligns perfectly with the agile product management methodologies we use at our organisation and supports a lot of add-ons which makes things even easier as you have everything in one place and you do not miss out on anything.
the new Timesheet option and easy to use UI
Earlier the timesheet were not easy to fill, and also why different config for task -subtask link
Task management and sprint management. With Jira it is easy to plan and manage your Product development tasks and also easy to maintain feature release list plus bug tracking.
It is the best team collaboration tool and really works well with other Atlassian products.
User Interface is little bit complex. So It seems difficult for beginners to use.
As I said earlier, it seems to be the best collaboration tool. So I was able to procced efficiently with the project with my team members.
Collects all the data for bug tracking and further reproduction.
When you are a new user, it's a little bit complicated to use the tool, until you get familiar with it.
All testing features are collected in one tool and that makes working process fast and easy.
Well, I like every features of Jira but the most liked features is you can 'status' as much as you want. Also It help me to create workflow of the 'status' that is very good.
Well, as i am familiar with many projects management tool i don't face any difficulty but as for new person it's not easy to understand complete working of Jira in just 1-2 days. There is lot of features like in report you can view your report in different ways for proper analysis.
Jira is flexible,it help me a lot. First of all using Jira is time saving like before this i manage my work on Excel that takes lots of time and now by using Jira is very convenient.
This is mind blowing tool. It is totally a feature rich product. Its interface is incredibly easy to use. It has superb ability of customizing projects. It is perfect tool for tracking issues and bugs. It let us organize the progress of each and every individual story. The learning seems to be steep in the beginning but it becomes super powerful after you get habitual.
I haven't seen any Cons yet. Initially you may find it difficult to use but after getting familiar with it you just love to use this. It has capability to serve all the purposes in best ways.
It is the best tool for managing defects. It is a great tool for creating different workflows for running multiple projects. Another good thing about it is that it gives us the opportunity of personalizing your pages as well as flows.
It helps me keep track of my progress each quarter and see what is left to do of my personal responsibilities within the company.
I have admittingly been slower to understand Jira as I find the formatting confusing. There is a lot to learn and understand. I do not shy away from our quarterly goals board, however, looking at home page I noticed there is a user guide! I am going to utilize that immediately.
We are able to breakdown all of our goals for all aspects of the company to ensure we are always being productive. It helps us stay on track and to find leeway whenever we are faced with something unexpected, like Covid-19.
- flexibility of defining flows - flexibility of defining issue types - flexibility of choosing project types
- very vast - project types usually differentiates between traditional project or scrum. It should either be Agile based project or add more frameworks focused projects
- managing entire project in one tool - visualise day to day progress - reports helps with progress, predictions
Jira provides a ton of flexibility and workflow frameworks to help your teams take the guessing work out of their processes. You can set up guardrails and appropriate next actions based on the current step you are on. And it allows for transferring ownership and responsibility depending on which step you are in with the workflow.
Many of the features are spread all over, so it can feel like you are piecing together a large number of solutions.
Managing development projects and safety reviews. We have been able to standardize our process and make it easily apparent what the next step typically is and what the available steps are at hand.
It's reliable , user friendly test management tool. With this 1 tool we can track our defects, keep our test cases and also our requirements at one place. So it saves a lot of time for us. As it keeps and shows us all the Information , it helps to complete all our tasks also in time.
It's only disadvantage is manually have to link defects/story card to other issues.
We are able to keep our test cases, requirements and also we can trackbour defects and test case status at one place without any issue. So it saves a lot of time for us and helps us in becoming more productive.
- Jira has everything you wish for managing the team except video conferencing. -Jira is more focussed on the agile method of implementing software development. - I am giving this review for development based company's view, and managing multiple projects and getting reports cant get easier and convenient than this. - The best part is that you can create multiple projects and make project-centric tickets and assign it to your team. -It is so customizable that you can define the various stages through which your ticket (or task) has to go before it is resolved. - you can assign different privileges to different users in your organization depending on whether he/she is a developer, manager, software tester etc. - the software development sprints can be created with each having different version names and the tasks or tickets created can be set in each sprint. - Jira shows the activity of the users on the tickets, the user can comment, add attachments and the whole of the discussion can be documented in the comments itself. -Jira also gives the facility for a time log of the work, user can log the work done by him in a day , he/she can plan the work to be done for a day or particular days, weeks. -The tasks can be sorted as per the nature of the tasks like bugs, documentation task, testing task, new tasks, feature, improvements. - The same tasks can have the tag which tells you how critical is the issue, like most critical, blocker, low priority. so we can set the priority of tasks in a given sprint
-There's is pretty much everything that Jira can do, only drawbacks are its bit of complicated to use more the software is customizable and more the number of features, more and more complex it gets. - Video calling or conferencing tool or integration of any such tool will be a boon. - whenever the files are attached in the ticket, the files come under attachments section and only its name is linked in the comment, so it's difficult to sort what attachments were available for original ticket and what was added later. -The video attachment cannot be played in the browser, for me, it gets downloaded on my machine.
The team management is the best with jira, you have all the reports of work done by the employees in the organization, you can keep track of the amount of work pending, the efforts put in. This all data can be used to improve organization coordination and management in the subsequent sprint.
Jira platform is huge and can be designed based on the requirement and make it easy . the search capabilities in jira is amazing with applied filters to the same. user dashboards that are available is very good to use and makes the user manage their work in their own dashboards. also sharing the dashboards to others user with permission based is amazing so that we save a lot of rework and the make the most of reusability. Jira offers a huge range of inbuilt gadgets that includes analytics, templates etc which are most real time usable with great user experience. Overall Jira is an amazing application.
Nothing to mention. this looks perfect to me. Can make it very simple or make it very complex based on the requirements. so its all configurable.
Being perfect Agile company by using the jira boards. transparency in the work progress. road maps and proper planning. I believe this is the one of the key for the organization to be on successful deliverables .
The best thing about this software is that fields are detailed and self-explanatory when tracking every user story, and there is a software guide too if you want to know the specifics of any area. For example, you can design summary fields like bold colors, etc. this also benefits when recording faults. It's simple to understand user posts, too. Second, it's possible to attach screenshots. You can directly copy-paste the screenshot. Third, the quest problem is a positive one. Context and information are well preserved. You can scan and sort tickets for any area, and there's an automated scan where you can compose a question to search for problems. You can add erase columns and you can even download an excel or a CSV file. These findings allowed us to generate analyses that were then submitted to senior management.
The one big challenge I've encountered is that the change from an older user interface to a current one is very frustrating; the user interface is not compatible when we access email update URLs. And also, Jira is very fast, but it's not easy to implement, it requires several days to complete the system as required. It would be awesome if there were models for the boilerplate templates.
The overall experience was incredibly positive. Jira is meant to project preparation tools and together with Jira Support Desk and multiplicity which we are using, it's a really strong software application. I've also experienced others, but I've always returned to Jira because of its universal recognition and convenience of use.
Jira is very good tool for Agile product management. We can manage release, requirements, test cases, issues very easily in Jira. Also we can generate good progress reports in Jira which are very useful to track the project progress.
I like Jira much, nothing to dislike much but there are some rooms for improvement like better integration with other related products would be helpful.
We are using Jira for Agile development project where are able to define the Epic & stories for a release and then tracking all efforts which are much easier to do in Jira.
Jira is the best product for Product Management where we can create Epics, stories inside those epics and bugs for each story. In short, we can track issues, bug tracking based on the priorities, organize the progress of each story, etc.I would say Jira is the best software for any agile development environment.
No cons as of now. I can only see the pros of using Jira.
Jira is a project tracking software in any agile environment to plan, track and manage our projects. We can create Epics for any new project or feature which we want to release for any Software project. From initialisation stage to deployment stage, each and every activities can be tracked in Jira. We can create multiple stories for each epic by giving them the priotity and also time tracking can be done daily. Also, one can see the work log for every ticket which we create in Jira, making it easier for anyone across organisation to track the ticket efficiently.
Customization is a key point, you can create different directories, workflows and prioritize tasks according to their importance
The negative thing I could say is the speed, it is not very friendly
Optimizing workflows and prioritizing them according to their importance is what has helped me the most.
No stone is left unturned with Jira. Rarely am I confused on what my task is at any given time and when its due. The learning curve is a little steep at first in terms of what you need to look for and what may be visual noise, but once your eyes get the hang of it, it's super powerful.
If you're not prepared or having somewhat of a busy day, the platform can be super overwhelming. If I have a lot of tasks to do, I feel overloaded with work because It's hard for me to understand what to prioritize. I know there's an urgency rating, but it can still be a lot.
I work for a big institution with hundreds of employees who are all working on their separate tasks that may or may not overlap with mine. Jira does an amazing job of making that overlap clear, so i'm not underperforming or over-performing.
It helps in aligning your teams. It helps the user in creating planning sprints, stories and issues and help to distribute work into the overall team. It helps in tracking, discussing and prioritizing your team works by providing proper visibility to all activities. It helps in providing transparency and beneficial communication tools. it helps in keeping you updated about every information of teams. It helps in improving the performance of teams in real-time.
It may be difficult to integrate and migrate through it with other application. User will have to do migrating manually which will take more time. You will not be able to download its graphical reports in formats like images. It is not helpful in improving image resolution. Size of uploading files is limited in it, it should be improved.
It helps in providing confluence which facilitates teams by providing answers about everything. It helps in evaluating your projects and provides solutions that suit your projects according to needs. It provides automated notification by email. It provides proper visualization so that everyone will stay updated about their upcoming tasks and projects. It also helps in knowing about stages related to your projects to evaluate the progress of work.
The planning and reporting features of Jira are amazing. One can use the reporting feature to assess, track, and monitor the project performance as well as the team performance. Good for project management.
The lack of intuitive UI which will guide the user to understand and use the system easily
- Jira provides detail information on the project's progress - Great tool for planning - For monitoring, team members progress easily - Great tool for forecast and management - Works really well with bitbucket - A great tool to track issues
A great and easy platform for organizing teams and projects side by side. An extensible platforms with plugins for all your needs. An easy to use interface that allows easy installation. Its unique features make team collaboration easy. The price rates are affordable. Tracking team work using Jira is easy and reliable. The search filters make it easy for managing different team sprints and backlogs. Its feature makes it easy to update and the ticketing system allows for fast team collaboration. The simple user interface makes managing complex tasks easy. Better than other software’s like Excel Spreadsheets and Access for managing SDLC.
Being a software that uses plugins for most of the work the plugins are pretty expensive even the ones that are for small tasks. The customer support isn’t very responses and is hard to reach. The new Active Sprint view restricts the users from understanding the main story and the subtasks that is sometimes confusing. The Active Sprint view should have options to enable or disable the view of the subtasks. There is a learning curve while using this platform which can be a bit hard thus it takes time for new users to get used to it. The User Interface could be made better.
Jira has more features compared to Basecamp. Jira has a reasonable price and is cheaper than most of the software.
