really nice team support, and really accessible thanks to the chat
had an issue with my taxe class which lead to get less money
Issue with my tax class but in the end all good
Making it possible to work from any country, having a chat to ask questions
the features in the app are not very powerful, like the public holidays not being automatically on the calendar and having to take it out of the time of request otherwise it counts as paid time off, The signature of the contract is not easy and you need to check everything carefully , I had to review mine 5 times
My Company doesn't have an entity in Portugal so I¡m employed through Remote. It also allow me to get the benefits like health insurance and taxes being held in my payroll
For someone that is just rolling in, Decent health plan
Looks to me no designated POC on local grounds. One needs to write to general support for any questions or concerns.
Getting employed locally.
I love how Remote enables me to work from home. I like that I'm not requires to go to an office and am able to do all my tasks anywhere in the world. Customer support is fast. They are friendly and always do their best to answer any request as good and as fast as possible.
Sometimes it takes a while for Remote to process things. Like when I make overhours, HR approves them, bit I usually get the payout a month or more later. Now I know this, so it isn't as much as an inconvenience anymore. But this is something I see room for improvement on.
They make it possible for me to work remotely from any location in the world.
Well, it allows my company to hire me. That's great.
They're confused about certain things. They don't explain the payslips that well. I got sent a meal allowance card that actually is not meant to be used. Stuff like that. Also, if you have a problem, you'll talk to Support with anyone from anywhere, not actually an agent from your country. People from other countries often have zero context about national labor laws and it's harder to talk to them.
I'm an employee using Remote. The problem it solves is I can be hired by a company that isn't officially registered here.
I use it to pay international employees in New Zealand and Australia.
The Remote system isn't as user friendly as Deel.
Paying our international contractors & EOR.
Representatives are quick to respond. Needed insurance and NOC etc for my official travel, was able to get it in one day.
Nothing to dislike about Remote, just that if you are on any other visa, the time needed for visa and insurance transition is a little overwhelming. But the process is made smooth by Remote.
My company is based in US, and it was such a headache arranging for visa and insurance and availing employee benefits. Remote made it easy with payroll management and as an HR solution.
That it's really easy to use and pretty straightforward
I really can't think of anything I don't like from it. But
To let foreign companies to hire me without having an office in my country :)
Overall responsiveness, time to react to issues, proactive onboarding specialists, help@remote.com
Verification of personality could be frustrating - as polish permanent residence card is not recognized by their system, or some work of subcontractors in Poland could be better - some documents needed to be sent twice due to incorrect forms
Getting hired by my current company
I like the ease of use. They also take care of their employees.
In this case the holiday policy in Finland was a bit weird compared to the standard norm in Finland.
It allows us as a small company to hire people we have worked with for years without legal hassle.
The platform is complete for businesses paying employees who are working in any remote setting. Everything is taken care of without any stress or worry, holidays, overtime and sick days.
Quite regimental in terms of onboarding and discharging of employees.
Payments received on a regular basis without delay or disruption.
Most helpful is time tracking. Also sending invoices et receiving money is very convenient.
I dislike the fact that we can't link time tracking with the invoice creation And it is impossible to export time tracking sheets properly
The issue of being paid by a foreign company
The simplicity of most processes, the platform is also good.
Sometimes contacts with remote take too long. The process to include coverflex wallet is taking too long also
Coverflex wallet, will benefit me, é.g childcare vouchers
Remote Platform is very easy to use, from onboarding to day-to-day use. Also, Customer Support is good on Chat and Email.
From the payment perspective in India, does not provide various tax benefits (Flexible tax benefits like Food Coupons, etc.) in India.
My Company is in USA and I am in India, Remote is providing the platform starting from Payment Contract, Payroll and Contract Management. With Remote, I am getting salary in INR and able to work for USA based company. Providing all the help related to India Taxation, payment flexibility, etc.
Nice employee communications via the support hotline.
The relationship provides no context about the factual employer. Complicating the visa and relocation process.
Nice employee communications via the support hotline through onboarding, employee relations, and offboarding.
I really like how I have full control of my side of things in a very smooth and intuitive way through the dashboard. I can send requests and invoices and add/remove my bank details easily without needing to contact my employer. I also like how it auto-suggests the next invoice name correctly. I use it a few times a month, usually once for invoicing and every now and then for time off requests. Support is OK, they're polite and I like how it's async (works well), but I think it could improve the speed.
I've honestly had issues receiving my invoice for every other payment so far. Getting support wasn't easy/fast as they'd escalate me to contractor support but that was a bit weird and communication could've been a bit more clear. Both I and my employer had issues with them not recognizing payment or flagging weird things without much reason. I wish I could go more in-depth but it's really difficult as not much has been shared with me. One thing I can say is that it's frustrating that every other month my employer will approve the invoice in like 48h but my payment would be delayed for nearly 2 weeks due to issues with the platform.
The fact it acts as an intermediary processing bank information and transactions is really useful as I don't need to keep going back and forth with my own employer to get these things right. If I want to use a different receiving method each month that's fine, I don't need to email HR or anyone, I just choose it with a few clicks on the platform and that's very handy and allows a whole new level of freedom as a contractor.
Being able to hire employees from across the world is having a positive impact on our company's growth, especially for those roles that are hard to fill in the UK. For most countries, the onboarding is smooth and quick.
There have been times when Remote has taken too long to come back to us when we've had an issue. Also, there has been some miscommunication between its departments.
Hard to fill roles in the UK.
Pay slips are given promptly every month, any queries are answered by their live team of agents within a few minutes. No complaints.
Perhaps they could send less marketing emails but that's about it
Hiring and paying talent across Europe without a legal entity in those countries
The UI of the platform is very good compared to the previous EOR services I have used (one is a name of a fruit!). Submitting expenses and making claims under medical insurance policies is extremely easy. They are also partnered with great service providers such as Scottish Widows for pensions and Axa. Customer service when needed have been prompt and professional.
While the platform is very easy to use, I feel that the expenses side could be improved. I find it a tad annoying that the FOREX is put on the employee when making the claim as the exchange rate isn't made transparent to the employer when approving it. Therefore, when making foreign exchange expenses as an employee you sometimes aren't reimbursed the full amount due to the FOREX liability falling on you. Lack of salary sacrifice schemes such as EV car salary sacrifice schemes.
Have the ability to employ talent around the world without borders.
It's totally compliant and easy to approach
Not possible to change annual payments schedule from 14 to 12 (Portugal)
It's acting as the Portuguese representative of my employer
Someone usually gets back to you if you have a problem pretty quickly.
A very small dislike dealing with a VISA situation and pricing.
We cannot pay to Payoneer accounts because Payoneer thinks we are an investment firm. They have terrible customer service and Remote has been the solve for this issue so we can pay our contractors based in Brazil. We also are in the process of getting a VISA for a German employee who will then be based in Germany.
The customer support and response of Remote staff to questions about the program, services, and things that don't seem to work has been rapid and effective. There are some benefits that aren't offered yet in Spain that I'd appreciate, such as for transport. I understand this is being investigated.
The experience of remote is a bit fragmented since they coordinate with different providers to provide their benefits. It means you're not just working with Remote.com but also their sub-contractors which can add overhead as you figure out where to go to find information or resolve an issue.
Remote handles paying my wages and administering benefits in Spain where my employer isn't setup. There's no need for my employer to manage this on their own.
Good toolkit, clear steps for onboarding, and responsive team
There's a lack of information from the start. Past the onboarding, you're really not well supported on guidance to set yourself up as an employee in France.
Making our main company's life easier by giving the ability to hire employees anywhere around the world without the overhead cost.
Good interface, support that is usually on hand, appreciate the feature of the cost calculator. Overall they are a good employer of record, with a better interface than some competitiors
Complicated invoicing system that means that a double analysis needs to be done as they pre-fund & then invoice the rest at the end of the month, which makes it difficult to realize the true cost on the platform
Hiring people remotely in countries where we do not have a legal entity which allows us to reach a greater supply of international talents. They also allow us to easily work with contractors
Use their plataform is really intuitive.
After 6 months, nothing so far. Even the support team has been amazing.
My employer is in the US and I am in Colombia. They have managed all payments, legal aspects and even taxes for both of us.
They are fast at replying if something is needed, their customer support is on point. Clear website with most functionality you would expect a payroll website to have.
Everything is set in stone, if anything outside the scope of what they deemed should be possible there is no way to handle these issues.
It allows me to work remote from my own native country in the country I am currently residing in
As a free solution for paying contractors, Remote is fantastic. Their customer service often responds more quickly than support from paid products, and the representatives are helpful, friendly, and always resolve the issue quickly.
As a free product, some features are lacking. It is difficult to go back and locate the payment details of a specific invoice if it was bundled with other invoices. Contractors have mentioned that invoices do not change to payment pending status until the payment has been received by Remote, rather than right after the payer submits payment. It would be helpful if the contractor could see that the payer has submitted payment so that they know payment is in process. There is no way to mass download invoices or export invoice data to a spreadsheet. If you pay via a bank account rather than a credit card to avoid the credit card fees, it can take up to 2 weeks for payments to process. However, I believe this is standard for free processors.
Remote allows us to pay many independent contractors without unnecessary costs. We are a small startup, allowing us to free up funds in our budget for other things. Once familiar with the Remote interface, onboarding and paying contractors can be completed within seconds. Our contractors can submit invoices easily and update their own information.
Excellent operational support to help provide close support when needed.
In order for Remote to provide good support, they need to be supported by someone within your organisation to ensure they can action and resolve issues, otherwise there can be a sense of disconnection from the employer.
At the core, being able to employ people wherever they are around the world through the same platform/processes.
Able to hire talent anywhere. Easy to manage contract changes.
Initially found it difficult to see status of invoices that were paid.
Hire remote talent
Easy access to time of request and payrolls
Expenses take longer than expected to cover
Remote allows me to work for international employers, opening up my opportunities
