I recently had the pleasure of using Riverside.fm, and I must say that it exceeded my expectations in every way possible. This platform truly stands out as a game-changer in the world of podcasting and remote recording. First and foremost, the audio and video quality provided by Riverside.fm is nothing short of outstanding. As a content creator, I've often struggled with finding a reliable platform that can capture clear and crisp audio and video during remote recordings. However, Riverside.fm's advanced technology ensures that my recordings are of the highest quality, making the editing process much smoother and the end result more professional. The user interface of Riverside.fm is intuitive and user-friendly. Setting up a recording session is a breeze, and the platform offers a range of customization options, allowing me to tailor the recording experience to my specific needs. The ability to schedule recordings, send guests invitations, and manage recordings all in one place has streamlined my podcasting workflow significantly.
The pricing structure seemed straightforward on the surface, but as soon as I subscribed and started using their services, hidden fees and extra charges started popping up out of nowhere.
By recording locally on each participant's end and then syncing the audio and video streams, it mitigates the risks associated with dropped calls or audio/video synchronization issues, providing more stable recordings.
Easy cloud recording features, new AI updates to create short clips for social
In-app editing features can be improved.
Riverside makes podcast recording so much easier, especially when you have guests on your pod.
As a new podcaster, Riverside.fm makes creating content seamless. I especially appreciate the AI generated clips. They also provide excellent customer service!
I do wish they'd export the files directly to your device instead of email.
Riverside.fm eliminates the need for multiple editing software tools.
Riverside is a great tool that allows you to manage the process, recording and editing of a podcast in a very easy way. It was much easier to start using than I thought it would be.
A couple of times a recording has not worked and has required me contacting customer support. Fortunately they were able to fix it and were very responsive via their live chat.
The ability to create podcast content internally without requiring big budgets and teams.
When I made my transition from traditional to digital, we needed a platform we could trust. Also one that would evolve with the changing industry. Riverside.fm has done that and more! It’s an important part of how we create content.
None to mention that are exclusive to Riverside.fm.
The main issue was connecting remote guest without intimidating them! Also, local uploading helped us solve connection issues. The recent AI upgrades have been perfect for saving us time with editing clips for social media.
Riverside is easy to use and allows me to easily customize my videos by providing individually recorded tracks. It is also very convenient that it caches locally making the experience very seamless. I did run into a few issues when recording in the past but each time the support team has been impeccable, and they resolved my issues, and in am expedited manor.
I haven't found anything yet that I dislike. I have not tried using all their features, so I can't speak on everything offer, but the primary function of the service is practically flawless for my needs.
I like to do post production on my videos and edit them on my own. I love how riverside let's me take everyone's video feed and export it individually for complete control over layout and placement.
It is very easy to use for beginners, and it allows me to do everything from podcast recording to voice over acting.
The only issue I've truly had is the quality of my camera gets distorted and there are lines sometimes bc of glitches. As well as sometimes sync issues with audio and video. To help this I just record my audio only things here, and if I need my camera I record with my camera seperately.
I am able to record a lot of my audio here and download it very quickly and easily to edit. I have not yet tested all features but I am sure they would treat me well too.
Simple to use. Great customer support.
Slighty confusing (to a non-techie) what files to download and how.
Im launching a new podcast and, having reviewed lots of alternatives I decided on Riverside
Easy to use. Easy for my guests to log on and use as well. I love the editing features that they offer to make editing quick and easy and ready to publish fast.
I would not say there is anything in particular I dislike. If I had to criticize I would say offer more features on the editing side but again, I am not sure how that would be more optimized. Perhaps be able to post direct to YouTube as well? I see the option to publish to Spotify but not to YouTube directly?
Easy to use product for my remote interviews for my podcast. It also allows me to edit all in one place versus submitting to iMovie or similar product to edit. Also offers transcripts which are amazing to use!
Easy to use, with Riverside you don't need to be an audio engineer to start a podcast. Audio tracks are mixed and ready to go, and editing is also easy.
It does not have the additional video capabilities one might need for more complex edits. If they could add it so it eliminates the need for outside editing platforms, then it would be perfect.
Easy to use podcasting platform, limited or no video editing or audio mixing experience, smaller learning curve. Productivity increased, with easy to edit clips
Joining the studio isn't too complicated, my guests find it easy to join and the experience seems to be generally what they expect.
It's currently hard to know how much storage is left for recordings
Providing a higher quality audio recording for podcasting, and making it easier for guests.
High quality recording and audio for multiple people, and most of the work is done for you! My guests have a good experience and feel professional about the setup.
There are some glitches. But every time I reach out to customer support, they are so responsive and helpful and it just changes the experience I had to something incredibly positive.
Building brand marketing for my business.
As a video professional, Riverside.fm was a critical part of my transition to remote production during the pandemic. Now, as traditional modes of production return to normal, I still rely heavily on using Riverside.fm as a regular part of my toolkit to capture the stories of those around the world. The UI is very familiar, yet the experience feels elevated from typical video conferencing and the outputs from the platform are such an improvement over Zoom recordings - It's like night and day.
There is the odd hiccup - Limited browser compatibility, as well as limited mobile compatibility has come up most, and I've run into firewall lockouts and small technical glitches here and there, but with the right preparation most of these flags become a non-issue. All in all, the Riverside.fm team seems committed to making the platform better, and I intend to stick around to see what the future holds.
Riverside.fm gives me the highest fidelity files possible in remote recording situations. It also gives me tools to feel confident that user error is practically eliminated from the process of remote production. Additionally, knowing everything is backed up to the cloud helps me sleep better at night.
All the guest needs to do is click on a link, join the call and the producer/host can do all the rest. The recordings are made natively, meaning that there will be no internet distortion on your recording. another plus, you get to click on the magic editor and you have a finished video file within minutes.
It's only available/compatible to be used on Google Chrome. This is a major drawback for me since some of my guests are not very tech-savvy and/or won't have the time to go download google chrome just to join my interview. Another issue I've found is that once you're in the call, you're not allowed to change the roles of the people in that call. can't change the producer role to a guest so that I can allow them to be in the recording.
We interview people from all over the country using riverside.fm for our podcast. Helps us save time and allows us to connect with more people and bring more content to our platform. Despite the need of having to use google chrome, is still the best option available out there to perform this task
Riverside.fm made producing our podcast and managing our guests very easy. It is a super easy tool to use if you are looking to start a podcast. Although I have never used the feature, there is the ability to produce the audio/video using their magic editor (rather than pulling it into an audio/video production software). Also, they have built-in noise/echo canceling, which is great.
No matter how strong the internet connection is, there always seems to be some form of latency during the recording session. It does not affect the audio or video that's recorded, but it does undoubtedly throw off the cadence of the session.
It is a one-stop shop for recording a Podcast. It eliminates us having to use multiple tools to handle various aspects of our recording session.
One thing that has made it so much easier for me is the ability to clip episodes up with speed!
There are times when doing live recordings even though it records separate tracks that it freezes during recordings.
When I wasnt able to get a ton of guest, being able to do a podcast from where ever helped!
Really helpful to have separate audio and video tracks, as well as the "producer" mode. Makes the post-production process a lot easier. Customer service for recovering missing files is great.
I wish there was a guide to the host could click that would walk through testing audio and video to make sure we're capturing the best quality (I as a producer have to be there personally right now). Also, sometimes the tracks can be missing from upload.
We do a lot of remote podcasts, and Riverside helps us record at a production level a step above Zoom. It's easy / intuitive enough for hosts to understand. We can share links to the files easily with our editors. It's helps streamline the production process.
I love that everything is all in the same place. I don't need to have several files everywhere and put them together. Everything is organized.
I think the video quality still has a long way to go.
Keeping everything together in one place. Making sure the sound sounds good from all parties.
Though I've only been using Riverside for a few weeks, it's already become my preferred recording platform. The quality of both recorded audio and video is top-notch and the post-production process allows for easy clipping and exporting of video assets. It's allowed me to leverage platforms like Reels and TikTok in a way that simply wasn't realistic before
My only real complaint with Riverside thus far is that it is a little behind its competitors in how it syncs audio tracks. I've had to manually sync tracks recorded on the platform in a way that I didn't with previous services
Though I've been podcasting for 6 years, my video production has lagged behind audio simply because the logistics of recording and editing quality video seemed overwhelming. Riverside combines those things in a way that allows me to quickly and easily export shareable Clips which can then be further refined in Premiere Pro
The tool has improved significantly over the past year, and it is constantly being updated to improve it. A solid staff committed to continuous improvement, which is not usually the case with SaaS businesses. To me, this is a huge thing!
One of my only gripes was that it was rather pricey at first since I have been using it. I can only use it with chrome right now. Another tiny gripe is at the fps limit.
As an entrepreneur, I'm well aware that managing mistakes frequently defines us. Riverside.fm has provided excellent customer service. So far, all of the errors have been mine. Despite this, they've been patient, helpful, and prompt in resolving any issues I've encountered.
