Similar to Shopify but MUCH better for B2B features. Many more features out-of-the-box. We can get by with far fewer apps than Shopify. Great customization options. The basic version does many of the things Shopify Plus does, at much less cost. Avalara works with all versions.
Not much to dislike so far. Only community help and app are a bit less than Shopify. We would like more than 600 variations for products but it is far better than Shopify's 100 variant limit.
We needed a strong base for a B2B site and coming from SuiteCommerce Advanced and Shopify this is the best of the three. We needed many features out-of-the-box, instead of having to be nickel-and-dimed for many third-party apps like Shopify, or writing many custom apps.
The ease of configuring store or discount offers
None of it as of now. The tool is is terrific
Entire order management can be done on BigCommerce. We've integrated it with other tools and it works really well
BigCommerce offers a lot of out-of-the-box features that our business needs for our day-to-day operations. What doesn't come with BigCommerce is often available as an add-on (app) and it easily integrates with other software such as ShipperHQ, ShipStation, QuickBooks, etc.
When I started working for my company, they had a lot of website modifications that made it difficult to update the website theme/template. If there was some kind of way to update theme files without losing previous modifications, that would be very helpful for my team.
When previously using Magento, it was very time consuming to regularly apply and stay up-to-date with security patches and platform updates. BigCommerce hosts and updates the core website files so that is one less thing that we have to worry about. The eCommerce features satisfy our needs as a retailer.

I like that BigCommerce is not open source so we don't need to employee an in-house web developer for changes and patch updates. That alone is worth considering BigCommerce!
I wish I could email someone at support rather than having to go to their website to use their support form or call in. I'd rather deal with someone every time I need to.
BigCommerce does a lot for us in addition to a storefront. or instance, it can manage our omni channel orders (Amazon, eBay, etc), manage orders, and we even use it for blogging and content management.
One thing that attracted me to BigCommerce is that it isn't open source so there aren't frequent patch updates as required by platforms like Magento. There are many plugins and apps that integrate right with BigCommerce to make for a robust experience in order management, store setup, marketing, and website customizations.
BigCommerce doesn't have a lot of flaws. We have a dedicated account rep that checks on us from time to time and does evaluations for us. It's easy to grow our business with BigCommerce and not feel too many growing pains.
We needed an all-in-one ecommerce platform that can grow with our business and fulfill many of our needs both on the website, and behind the scenes. BigCommerce was the platform that best suited our needs and looking forward, will be a good match for years to come.
Beyond the SAAS platform capabilities, my experience with BigCommerce has been incredible especially due to the team of resources they provide - from the excellent trainers to the success managers who truly have your back. I could not ask for a better team of people to support the successful launch and ongoing growth of my business.

Many of our clients choose BC over other platforms due to its lightweight, quicker time to market, and less cost of implementation and integration effort than other platforms. The platform roadmap of features and innovation is rich, filled with fundamental merchant enablers, such as omnichannel, multi-storefront, and international commerce features.
With its passionate focus on being the best-of-breed shopping cart, BigCommerce also is relatively standardized in its core features. Customization is possible but comes at a cost when one has to build a unique integration or s set of business rules. We usually build cloud custom serverless apps and connect them to the back end of a BC store for our clients when something advanced is required. However, for most use cases, there are plenty of apps and extensions available through the BC marketplace. They cover a broad range of B2B and B2C functionality and integrations with the most popular eCommerce products and services, such as marketplaces, payment gateways, shipping and financing methods, tax services, personalization engines, and others.
BigCommerce works in both end-to-end as well as headless deployment options; we have implemented both quite effectively. We have successfully deployed custom business logic and rules to enhance and expand BC functionality for our clients. It worked for clients of all sizes ranging from a regional B2B music accessories manufacturer and distributor to a national auto parts retailer. The most helpful thing about BigCommerce is how easy it is to add on additional applications. In addition, with BigCommerce, it is easy to add and edit products. Moreover, the customer service team at BigCommerce is accommodating. Another feature that I like about BigCommerce is its inventory report. My account loves that I can provide them with details every month.
There is no one thing I dislike about BigCommerce.
One business problem that BigCommerce helps me solve is integrating Codisto, which allows me to export my inventory to marketplaces such as eBay, Walmart, and Amazon.
