What actually decides your cost:
- “2 months free” is exactly two months free, on every plan. Annual prices are $190, $490, $990 and $4,990 against monthly rates of $19, $49, $99 and $499 — precisely ten times the monthly figure in all four cases. That is a 16.7% saving and it reconciles to the cent at every tier, which this review series does not always find. Castos makes no percentage claim at all; the toggle simply says “2 MONTHS FREE”, and it is accurate.
- Unlimited downloads on a $19 plan is the genuine differentiator. Most podcast hosts meter you — by storage, by upload hours, or by monthly downloads — so a show that suddenly finds an audience gets a bigger bill. Castos states “Unlimited Podcasts and Episodes” and “Unlimited Downloads” as included on all four plans, delivered through a CDN with 300+ edge locations and triple-redundant backup. Growth in listenership costs you nothing here, which materially changes the risk of starting cheap.
- You can monetise on the cheapest plan. Dynamic ad management and listener donations, one-off or repeating, are marked included on Essentials. Plenty of competitors reserve ad insertion for mid or upper tiers; putting it at $19 means a new show can run ads and take donations from day one without an upgrade. Combined with unlimited downloads, that is a coherent proposition for someone starting out rather than a stripped teaser.
- The upgrades are not about hosting at all — they are transcripts, private subscribers and seats. - The private-subscriber add-on is half the price of a plan upgrade, per subscriber. Work out what each plan charges per 500 private subscribers and the three tiers are almost identical — $95 on Essentials, $98 on Growth, $99 on Pro. The add-on Castos sells on top of Pro costs $50 per 500 subscribers a month, roughly half the rate. I like the ease of use. It is very easy to navigate so I can get things done in a time-efficient manner. I can go directly to one of my podcasts and edit on an as-needed basis without any grief or aggravation. Editing support content is relatively easy and painless. Castos allows you to import content from a WordPress post which certainly expedites the process. You can add backlinks to your text-based content which is always a good thing. I like the company. They are very easy to work with and have very fair billing rates. As long as you list the other platforms with the appropriate URLs, Castos automatically exports your podcast. Having my podcasts automatically exported to Itunes and Google is a very nice feature.
I wish they had some high-end audio editing tools and I would like to see Castos have more relationships with related vendors but I have to think that's coming at some point.

I'm really enjoying castos at the moment, I love that you can have multiple podcasts and it's easy to share, however I do with it had automatic sharing of podcasts for Apple and Google because there was a slight learning curve for adding the podcast to those platforms and now I have loads of random accounts. Also it's very easy to monetise!
I wish it was slightly easier up get podcasts on every platform, possible like a 'single click' thing. It's not the end of the world but it is somewhat of a pain having so many accounts for other platforms.

I appreciated being coached through every phase of the process, and left the experience feeling fully equipped not only to start and manage my podcast professionally, but to link it to my other digital properties for a seamless user and promotional experience.
There is very little I didn't like about the process. At first it was a little confusing and it took a little while to get it set up and connected with my website.
I had no idea how to start or manage a podcast but I knew I had a great idea and was a niche in the market. With just a little time invested, and with the support of the Castos coaching, I sucessfully launched my podcast. I've received great feedback already and traffic is up on my website.

I am achieving the fastest way to get started publishing podcasts. Time is the most valuable thing, and Castos's user experience they have built keeps this at the top of all.
I like how easy Castos is to use and get started. I had my podcast up and running in an afternoon. Their technical documentation makes it simple to get your show onto many different platforms, and you can even use Castos to host a basic podcast website. They also offer a quick copy for embed code to share your podcast on your own website.
The main weakness of Castos seems to be its analytics. Nearly all my listens come from generic web browsers, but my website analytics show that not many people are listening directly from the website, so I'm not sure where those listens are occurring. Additionally, you can't see how many unique listeners (e.g. repeat downloaders) vs new listeners you're getting, and you can't track listeners through episodes. A friend using BuzzSprout gets these kinds of data so I know it's possible from a podcast host.
I've got my podcast up and running, and can easily release my weekly episodes without much difficulty. I also enjoy the resources shared by Castos in their newsletter and blog.

Easy way of premium podcast hosting
It seems pretty reliable. I've never had any complaints from listeners.
I set it up a few years ago, but at the time organizing the order of episodes was difficult.
I needed a means to deliver an audio book to listeners, but I wanted it to be completely free to them. This allowed me to do that.
Very simple to use, very straightforward. It lets you get the job done quickly and easily. Not having to pay multiple times for multiple podcasts is a huge plus!
Some minor bugs on the backend and analytics.. eg. Analytics will group together video and audio podcast versions if they are identically named.
