Cloudflare is secure and one of the best options to serve your static resources externally. I recommend and use Cloudflare to host images and more such that my client's website load faster. I'm using Cloudflare for more than couple of years and yes it's secure and safe to deliver your files from another server than your website hosted server.
I found the price of Cloudflare a bit higher than others, overall this is not anything to dislike, I suggest 2-3 options to and ost of them end up with Google Cloud, maybe trust and brand name, but I personally like it.
Cloudflare's server helps me to host my images and static files. Hosting files on Cloudflare helped to increase my website's speed and security.
It super easy to set up. I use bootstrap Studio and it had a step by step guide. It shows you the country where the website was visited and all this other information.
Most of the features cost money to use like Email domains and firewalls. I wished it would show you more stats.
I used to use wix but that was more challenging to set up. I get https for free and it tell me all the stats for my website like traffic.
We implemented Cloudflare 3 years ago as our CDN and DNS provider. Till today we haven't noticed any downtime anymore on our websites. The network is very fast and has a lot of bandwidth in case of a ddos attack. We use the caching mechanism to speed up the websites. I like the analytics overview where you can see how many bandwidth is saved and attacks blocked.
Setting up caching caused some conflicts with our Wordpress caching plugin. But there's enough documentation to set things up in the right way.
Cloudflare has saved us lots of bandwidth on our metered webserver.
Cloudflare is currently the best solution in the whole industry when it comes to managing your domain & various services associated with it. Cloudflare provides so many features out of the box for nearly no cost at all. Starting from DNS which not only simple to use but very fast when it comes to updates for your various records. Cloudflare provides a free SSL certificate for communication between your browsers & clients hence making a part of your connection secure again for free. There are so many other features that I can go all day like their workers to manipulate/perform operation on incoming request, cache handling, firewall, custom apps from its marketplace & lots of other features which is why cloudflare is currently the market leader.
The biggest drawback with cloudflare is that in its free tier you have no control over the actual caching of your content. We found it more than often that cloudflare don't cache our resources & even when it does it clear it very frequently (although I set the cache timing to be like many days). Unless & until you upgrade to their paid plans you have little to no control over the caching of your content.
We had earlier moved most of our domains to Cloudflare basically because of great DNS response time but mostly used it for its Content Delivery Network. We used it for one of our test products at that time to cache the images on Cloudflare edge so the response time can decrease leading to good user conversion.
If you are looking for a simple, powerful, secure and free service for your DNS you have to choose Cloudflare DNS. It comes with standard free and paid subscription and it offers advanced services like the protection against DOS attacks, etc.
Sometimes you have to struggle a bit with the domain verification.
You can easily have one place to manage all your DNS records. It also gives you the ability to set the TTL for every entry in order for you to customize completely your solution.
I like how vast the network is. They offer a free plan with a lot of features, including free SSL and DNS manager.
There is nothing which I would dislike since everything they offer works fine.
It is fulfilling my CDN and DNS management needs. It saves a lot of time with easy to use interface and fast DNS updates. All of it comes for free. Then there is SSL option for your site. You can use SSL for free on every domain no matter if your host supports it or not.
I was directed to CloudFlare by my WebHost as a way to reduce downtime and reduce resource use. The change was instantly noticeable as the site loaded far quicker once implemented. It was also very easy to set up.
I didn't receive any notification that the process was done, whichl eft in the cold a bit.
Slow load times and downtime were the main issues, and it has increased my website load speed, as well as well as reducing the amount of downtime I was experiencing.
I loved the fact that it enabled instant SSL protections and HTTPS rewrite. The option to upgrade to a dedicated SSL for just $5 is also amazing. Best of all, the analytics panel, which enabled us at the company to monitor visits and generate reports.
One disadvantage is that their RailGun features is only available in enterprise package. This is far to expensive ($+5000 monthly!)
CloudFlare enabled us to have a secured online platform, fast connection speed to the platform and optimal reporting.
Cloudflare protects our websites against heavy traffic and attacks. They have a powerful network to serve content from around the world. It helps our webserver serving content from multiple locations around the globe to deliver fast loading speeds to our visitors. We use the SSL certificates provided by Cloudflare to encrypt communication to and from our websites.
Cloudflare offers so many optimizations that you have to be careful which ones to use. Some can break your website.
Our websites are more secure because of SSL encryption and protection against attacks.
We use the DNS services from Cloudflare. They are really stable and DNS changes get propagated fast over the internet. The CDN boosts the speed of our websites and is simple to implement.
The price can be high when hosting multiple websites using Cloudflare.
Our sites were under attack, but Cloudflare CDN got them back up!
