i like the way the tool is organized - the ability to share notes, links and comment on them in a nested way. Also the feature of email integration is good as everyone gets an email when anyone comments or shares something - be it link or comment

You can't abbreviate word in Quick Search field. If you don't write full word you will get nothing in search results. This is really irritating.

We have our wiki page with lot of technical guides for our product.

I like that its an all in one place where an organization can put documentation, notes and generally anything that needs to be accessible by one or many people. People can edit pages and you can comment generally anywhere. Confluence has a "questions" section which allows users to ask questions and others to answer. Like an internal stackoverflow.

Sometimes I feel like it has limitations or things you might expect, but its easier said than done.

Using it for internal docs, records and just everyday things we may need access to in one place. It can be integrated with other softwares.

Its really easy to use and also advanced with security provided in it. You can write quickly, insert tables, create diagrams in it very easily.

While creating diagrams, it doesn't support more flexibility

Documenting all the use cases, requirements, troubleshooting related points for each and every project. Creating child pages for sub projects and tracking them is very easy through search box.

Confluence combines the speed of creating on your own with the advantages of working together. Confluence makes it easy to create documents as a team, provide feedback in context and quickly iterate until your work is finalized.

Self hosting requires in house technical knowledge and staff training will need consideration

Whenever a teammate makes any updates, we get notified. It has saved me many hours by keeping me on the same page.

The navigation between different sections might be a little easier. At this moment it's not bad, just looks a little complex sometimes.

We regularly update our database security. In my job, I have to run the database in order to provide updated product to the clients. Confluence helps me stay in sync with the tech team. I am able to put in bug reports and requests or edits very easily as well.

We use Confluence to manage a massive rebuilding project at our company. It has become the source of truth for all things relating to this project.

I like how each team has the chance to organize their internal documentation as they consider best. They are connected to all the Attlassian suite which makes it all very convenient.

The design could improve, they have worked on it but the UI in general is quite ugly.

Confluence has a powerful search that allows us to easily look for internal documents that we need to make sure that we are following the correct processes.

There is not much to dislike. Their interface was pretty archaic before. However, they recently refreshed the look.

There were 2 main problems that we needed to solve. 1. Have a central location for all our internal docs 2. A way for employees to ask questions about topics that have no specific documentation Both of these problems were solved using Confluence. With the questions section, we were able to alert subject matter experts to quickly answer questions of our employees.

I love Confluence as I love JIRA and I use this for all of my projects

It is platform for organizations to maintain , secure and share the documentations.User access can be controlled by Active directory access to the lower lever where one can restrict the usage of documents. Multiple level of access to documents like read, write and admin. It is easy to share documents from folder level and navigate to file level . It is easy to make GIF from the snapshot where new user can able to understand without going through the documents. PMO can share their meeting notes across the users.Easily can track team activity ,give feedback and sync with team.Easily invite users from UI condole

Migrating from other tools to confluence is little difficult. It involves user in editing the documents manually and validate. User has to adapt to new short cuts to edit the document . Confluence Enterprise application pricing is high

It is easily to install confluence on premise and integrate with active directory .Restricted access to team and made invisible documents to other teams. It is very effective in creating meeting notes, project plans, requirements documents, release notes, roadmaps, and more. Dynamically we can create multi media content .User can provide feedback to the notes uploaded. It is effective in creating organizations hierarchy structure . Confluence can be integrated with atlassian tools through the plugin.

Confluence really keeps our company connected. Rather than having to reach out to stakeholders of a certain department or project, Confluence gives you the ability to find information on your own. It also allows us to collaborate with the team, each from our own computers.

In my opinion, the part that could use the biggest upgrade is the search feature. It helps to structure your account correctly to make it easy to navigate, but sometimes you just need to search for information in your Confluence account. When I do search, it seems that the relevant information is a page or two away.

We're collaborating more than ever before across multiple timelines, and giving our employees a place to store resources and important information.

A great deal of functionality in the tool - we use it mostly for documentation on key processes, capturing meeting notes and building product/project/launch plans. Email notices for when a change is made to a page or space are useful, as I now don't have to go and check but can wait to be notified of when I need to hop in. The ability to lock a page comes in handy when touchy items still in the works like product pricing or roadmaps aren't ready for everyone to view.

Some very minor formatting issues when working within different panel tables. Nothing major. The 'Search' function could use some love. Draw.io had previous glitches when saving (or rather, not saving!) but those seem to have been resolved.

The page editor can be a little tricky to use at times, and navigating between spaces can be a little confusing at first.

Inter-office and Inter-team knowledge sharing. We're getting better in both and have a nice central knowledge repository.

Seamless integration with other Atlassian products like JIRA and Bitbucket. If you are going to use one of these products you might as well use the other. Neat interface with easy formatting. A great enterprise-wide collaboration tool. Fully customizable.

Like JIRA the fact that it is fully customizable is also a problem in that configuration can be over-engineered.

All our company documentation is held in confluence. Architects, Executive Management, Marketing and Developers alike all use Confluence in our business.

Its very easy to use, intuitive, clean.

its really good product, its almost similar to wikipedia and it has good integrations with jira. the access management is a bit messy in corporate but i would still go with it.
