What I like best about this site is how effective it is, overall. I love being able to see exactly where users are looking at a web page. It's a very powerful application/site to utilize when you're trying to optimize a website/page.
The only thing I disliked about Crazy Egg is that sometimes when logging into the account, the page would move a little slower than I would have liked. Though I think this may have been because there was a lot of content being reviewed, when I would log in.
The problems I was solving with Crazy Egg were to see exactly what (on a web page) drew the users attention. The major benefit of Crazy Egg was discovering exactly where (on a web page) our users seemed to focus their time. This allowed us to make changes and adjustments based on actual user activity.
Quick and easy way to assess the site's activity based on user interaction, which helps to guide UX design decisions.
Cost of the enterprise version, even it's a little cheaper than the competitor. Scrollmaps colour coding is a little confusing. When Performing a google search on your product, we see Hotjar as the first result.
We were trying to investigate how a placement of a certain CTA button will affect our conversion rate. Crazy egg gave us the insight that the initial placement was incorrect,
Crazy Egg is super simple -- once setup, it begins collections all sorts of data right away such as where your site visitors are clicking, scrolling, etc. I look once a week or so on key landing pages and pages and we make informed adjustments derived from the what we see and infer.
Nothing in particular. We have some ideas for the product to evolve even further but there is no one feature that I dislike.
We use CrazyEgg to improve our performance with our ad campaigns (mainly Google Ads), and we use it to inform our team on various site improvements we can make over time to fight off stagnation.
We have loved using the recordings feature to watch how users are engaging (or not!) with our content. We've made multiple informed tweaks to content structure, order, and content based on how we see our users interacting.
Sometimes CrazyEgg provides so much info and insight it can be a bit overwhelming to figure out where to focus efforts.
We are solving the problem of not knowing how our users behave. We have previously been able to roughly estimate - but we were usually pretty wrong! CrazyEgg helps us to analyze, predict, and tailor our site to user behavior.
Craze Egg offers so many different ways to view and analyze usage of a website, like a heat map and scroll map, numbers and percentages of clicks on each link, and user information such as browser, OS, window size, etc., not to mention recordings of users' movements on the page.
It would be nice if I could somehow combine the results of two different snapshots; we're a university library, and our homepage hits 100,000 views in a couple months, and I'd love to be able to combine two or three snapshots to cover one whole semester.
We're figuring out what links get the most use on our website and which get barely any use, which has enabled us to do some weeding of links!
I was able to up my heat map and landing page testing game so much after having a chance to speak to some of the great support people at Crazy Egg. I learned both about new features that provided interesting insights, and also how to look at the heat mapping data and pull actionable information out of it.
I haven't tried competitors so it's hard for me to make a comparison, but I don't have any complaints about Crazy Egg. Initially it was hard to share save and share old heat maps, but that feature has improved over the years as well.
A heat mapping tool like Crazy Egg is an essential part of landing page and conversion rate optimization. There are so many insights that suggest improvements and things to test with the A/B testing aspect of the tool.
Crazy has provided us brand many customer insights and observations for UX on our web sites. The video capture is amazing capturing user movement as if we were in a focus group. A great tool to have in your arsenal.
I wish there was a way to export or download the heatmap image as one piece
UX and future designs
Crazy Egg has offered us the missing piece to our website analytics. Not only do we understand how visitors interact with our clients websites, but we also can understand what needs to be changed on the websites to create a better user experience. Specifically, we love the heatmaps and recordings which we analyze more than once a week.
It’s hard to find things to dislike! Crazy Egg offers us SO MUCH helpful information that it has become an essential part of our onboarding toolbox. The price of Crazy Egg is way below the value it offers.
We are solving our Conversion Optimization solutions. Crazy Egg helps us find where visitors drop off and strategically place tools in those spaces to retain more visitors to convert.
Crazy Egg makes it easy to set up Heat maps for tracking user behaviors. Their interface is simple to use and well thought out.
I wish I didn't have to wait so long -- it would be nice for it to attempt to predict user behavior based on past activity.
None really, beyond setup configurations
Crazy Egg is quick to implement and provides a variety of insights on user behavior that can then be utilized to run A/B tests on site using their A/B testing tool.
The A/B testing tool is somewhat limited but provides the ability to implement user behavior based goals as success criteria.
I use Crazy Egg to monitor user behavior as well as implement CRO tests. You can quickly view what your visitors are doing on site as well as pin-point areas for improvement
Crazy Egg is a relatively simple software solution that does exactly what you want it to do - track visitors to figure out how they interact with your website. I particularly love their video recording tool, which lets me literally watch a recording of how someone interacts with my site. I can figure out which buttons to change, which text to move around, etc.
The only complaint that I have about Crazy Egg is that when you are using the recording feature, it doesn't show you any videos that are playing on the site. This a problem because if you have a video sales letter or any type of video on your website, it's difficult to figure out how people are engaging with it.
I am able to see how people are interacting with my site. I've been able to make several changes to improve engagement and conversion rates.
I like the pricing structure and capabilities of the tool. Crazy Egg captures usage data that can't be captured by basic analytics. Within my first week of using the software, I was able to identify and fix a major usability issue with my website.
Sometimes the tracking code can be a bit buggy.
I use Crazy Egg to solve problems related to website usability. CrazyEgg makes it easy to understand issues and see on a very granular level the ways end users interact with your website. The benefits of CrazyEgg apply to website development, analytics, usability, and testing in easy to understand ways.
The ability to narrow down by time of day, device, etc. on the clicked area
It would be nice if it auto populated with website changes, or gave a notification when it notices that whats on the page its tracking isn't the same anymore
We are solving the problem of not having any idea how people are interacting with our website. whether they actually watch the video we put up, or what people are clicking on that doesn't actually lead anywhere
Easy to use A/B testing tool that's not at all complicated to use. Also, the micro-copy and UX feel very straightforward and intuitive, making it easy even for a first-time user.
Could feel a little more snappy. Sometimes, it can feel like getting simple results takes a lot of time, making its slick UX feel like it's lagging a little too much.
Clear insights into what our website visitors like, don't like. The kind of web page design and content that appeals to them. And helps us optimize everything we build to a more perfect level.
I've only scratched the surface of functionalities for Crazy Egg, but so far it's meeting my company's needs and in some ways exceeding them. The software is incredibly user-friendly and intuitive. I also had an amazing interaction with JL Neilsen yesterday to resolve a tech issue. Not only was she incredibly kind and patient with me, she also took the time to provide me with an article regarding the issue. She even answered some of my questions that were purely curiosity. The icing on the cake is that the issue was easily resolved while we were on a Zoom together! :) Super impressed!
I haven't found anything yet that I would categorize as clunky or convoluted.
We're better able to understand how users are interacting with our websites and the content within. It has helped us make informed changes for things like SEO, UX, content, etc.
Crazy Egg is simple to deploy, and the process to setup data capture within their platform is also simple. This allows us to get to the data collection and analysis very quickly.
The only flaw I've found with Crazy Egg is that we can't exclude traffic from the snapshots based on a referrer. One of our ad platforms sends out a high volume of verification traffic that carries a specific UTM tag, but unfortunately, we can't exclude that referrer, which means our scroll data is likely off.
It's allowing us to be more granular in how we evaluate what's working (or not working) on our landing pages. I like that we can data as soon as clicks come through, so we're not having to delay our action or changes that we see as being high priority.
Seeing the user journey in so much detail
Nothing - I think it is great, not sure what I would do to improve.
- Allowed me to know which edits I need to change on my website to make the user journey more streamlined. -Allowed me to identify erorrs/blind spots in my website
Easy to use interface that allows succinct videos watching users interact with your website. It allows autoplay, so you can just sit back and gauge what gets the most clicks and how people's typical user experience flows.
There are limits on how much storage you can have on your account depending on the plan you have. As an early stage start-up this can be difficult since we don't have a lot of capital to spend right now despite this being such a crucial service to make us successful.
We look at where people are pausing and clicking. We already have a sense of traffic to the site and which pages get the most clicks, but this really helps us see how this happens. When they use our search function, we already get a list of search terms that potential customers are looking for, but we don't see searches that go unfinished, or that they didn't click through all the way.
The heatmaps listview which can breakdown and show the elements clicked is a cut above the rest, the recordings are especially vital as well.
I would have preferred to manage and create recordings the way we manage snapshots. The loading times between pages can often be too long but not always.
With crazy egg we can get better understanding of user behaviour, what are they clicking on can be seen from heatmaps, how they flow through a site can be seen from recordings. These aid in unearthing what users are doing and give some hints at why they do it.
Heatmaps by far the best in the industry. The ability to see the actual link clicks and unseen click links is quite informative on a granular level. The filter ability for recordings is something I use a lot of.
Initially had problems setting up CrazyEgg onto our secure site but realized it just had to be implemented via google tag manager and included as a safe site for our network.
We are tracking and recording what customers are doing on our Ecommerce site, from the homepage, checkout process, secure pages to individual products.
