Float is super good in managing hours utilization and team updates on project allocation. I think it is an easy to use tool. I only manage resources but there are other ways of using Float too.
UI of Float seems old. The Colour scheme needs an update, filter option is sometimes confusing in a way about what to select and from where but overall it is fine and manageable.
I am using Float for solving team resource allocation and adding team members to the required projects. It helps me in guiding a resource about their allocation and project, work etc
keeping track of my day and logging hours spent on projects
occasionally doesn't let me delete projects from my day
saved time logging hours on projects. The team knows what they are working on
Float is incredibly easy to use and integrate into smaller teams. Visually straightforward, it gives you quick and simple answers to essential resource-based questions and allows team members to see what work they should be progressing and when in a tidy calendar view. In addition, there is an easy link between time in the calendar to projects that can be managed quickly.
I do find that compared to some other systems, a level of detail when it comes to finances and budgets vs resource is missing. Whilst you can get some very top-level detail, the ability to link actual time spent versus project budgets is a little simplistic and could be expanded upon to really drill down into more detail to provide better overall reports.
Resource management. The ability to organise team members and ensure they're informed as to their work schedules was quickly and easily done with the use of Float.
Very organized and clean, great to maintain a good workflow overall, Scheduling is made very easy on this software
Can be a bit overwhelming in the beginning, but super quick to learn
Project scheduling in bigger Teams is as easy as it can be. Scheduling your own day is also very great on this software. It allows you to work in bigger Teams without getting in each others way.
Float is very easy to use and has a nice user interface. Next to that, I really like the fact that you get notified everyday about your daily schedule and every time someone makes changes to your schedule.
It's not completely mobile-friendly. I've got trouble scrolling all the way to the bottom.
It's really easy to see what colleagues are doing everyday. Before, if you couldn't participate in a stand-up, you didn't know what everyone was up to.
I love how easy to use the software is, it is great for new learners and not difficult to understand
I think it would be better to make Float more inclusive to PM and production needs such as budgeting. It would also be better if you could temporarily add users such as freelancers for 30 days.
It is so easy to use and it is great for teams to be able to access this. The guest feature on Float is also great as it lets account managers see live updates.
Board section : Different cards for tasks can be segmented to show updates like done, to do, etc
Sometimes, it is difficult to find the Board section
Communication about the tasks are clear. We can assign the particular person for a task effectively
Simple, concise layout that let's us see where our assets are being used.
Mobile app has issues, needing login every time being the latest one.
Better top down view of our organization and how we're deploying resources.
I like this tool because it only took me a few minutes to figure out how I could plan future work and budget for my team.
It's not always as easy to plan a versy specific amount of time for a task rather than 8hours.
Our team uses float to keep of and plan work for future projects.
The budgeting functionality for each task
UI might need a bit of improvement when dragging a task to completion. Sometimes it unchecks the smaller tasks within the larger one.
Project management with budgeting options.
The ability to view the planning of your colleges and to do resource planning based on availability. The tool have a clear visibility of planned project allocations. The filtering also works well.
The lack of more in detail daily breakdown of tasks.
Project resource planning and consultant availability.
Easy to use and to teach to new employees
Occasional bugs when using the iPhone app.
Easy to schedule a team - no more paper timesheets.
Ease of use fantastic interface great reporting Drag and drop features
Doesn't have all the features that some other market leaders have, and reporting could continue to improve
Transparency, we can see where all team members should be spending their time. It makes it easy for an overview, and for people to stay up to date on their work .
Easy to use, helpful and multi-screen... it's definitely a best-in-class in resource planning. Thanks to simple drag and drop features it's very easy to organize and visualize tasks and planning. All the team can see our schedule and we can see what each other is doing.
It can be difficult to synchronize a whole team on a single task. We have to create fav with people of the team to easily have access to their schedule. If not, we lose them on the next log in.
I spend less time organizing my tasks, and more time to actually do them. It's a time saver and I can easily track my times on a daily basis, making it more efficient.
The integration in our existing business was easy and helpful to keep track of everyone's task and check availabilities in one sight. Organisation is one of the most important things in a company.
Nothing, it is very easy and intuitive to use. I really recomend it.
Float really gives the chance to reorganize the schedule if needed, we have gained a lot of time.
It helps you to properly log the time you dedicate to each task.
At first, you need to create templates for each type of project you will work on, otherwise organising your tasks to properly track your time becomes a bit of a nightmare.
It helps to see where resources need to be allocated.
Easy to see what is scheduled. Clear view.
Needs to be easier to find me - logged in user should be more prominant
To find out what work I have been assigned to.
Ease of use and great interface. Very simple to manage our resource and forecasting within this product.
Could do with a few more project management features to become a more advanced product
How to assign resource correctly and forecast resources going forward for project planning
UI is simple and nice - I enjoy the ease of use and drag and drop of tasks.
After normal corporate hours ability to add tasks it looks a little clunky and could use to be tidied up as sometimes projects may take some time to complete.
Problems are listed above such as the after regular hours ability to add tasks it looks messy - benefits is too see a streamlined interface of where each user/colleague is working on.
My favourite part about float is the ease to manage client work with colour coding and the capability to edit and view other colleagues schedules
Float could be improved with functions such as duplicate and reoccurring tasks
The ability to view colleagues schedules and the schedules of rooms has made office work much easier
