The ease of communication and scheduling of resources - I can colour code the pipeline work and once all sign offs received confirm to the resources that they will definitely be billable! Moving staff off a roster is simple as a drag and drop. Capturing training and annual leave has never been simplier
updating a resource and having to refresh the page - although am sure this is a bug from the last release
The admin overhead of managing staff, pipeline of work across multiple clients and projects and ensuring no planned bench time
Instant changes, globally visible by everyone!
Some times its a bit slow and lags when viewing a big team
Ability to rapidly view resource availability, skill set and work effort.
The best thing i like is the visual representation of the schedule, and the fact that you can create teams and engagements that allow everyone to know what's going on or who's free.
Needs a 'minimode' to minimise everything to give a holistic view of scheduling - no data functionality.
The main reason we wanted to use float is to allow schedulers the ability to visualise the schedules of employees in future engagements, as well as allow particular employees amend their schedules to communicate their availability for presales and business engagements with sales and management. This has been an integral tool for our business.
I love that it is THE software I needed to more efficiently monitor my staff workloads. I very easily assign staff to projects without having to question every other project manager in the office. We know who is available and who is not at all times.
There is not a single thing I dislike about using this product!
The biggest problem solved is who is over worked and who is under utilized. I can now easily assign work to my team evenly. It brings down the stress level, folks aren't worried about not having work and other are stressed with too much.
I tested like 15+ tools, and FLOAT was the only one allowing me to set specific hours for the tasks! All other tools only allow to instruct the team member to work 3 hours on certain date on Project X without instructing the user when exactly to do it. This might not seem a lot, but allows to combine time scheduling with calendar. It is extremely easy to use the tool, and reporting works (almost) great, allowing for CSV export. With the tool I can report to management and clients who, for how many hours, what tasks have completed under certain projects.
There is no gantt chart view of the projects (not big deal for me, but some colleagues miss it). There is no way, or at least I can't find a way to set custom report date range. The options are last year, this week, today, etc., but there is no way to set a period from 5 May 2017 to 10 Jan 2019. So far it is not an issue, as we've been using FLOAT for several months, but I'm not sure how I'll make reports in the future...
Our benefits include visibility and ease of reporting, especially for customers, who pay on hour basis.
Very easy to use. I actually use it as a timesheet more than a planner. The interface is so intuitive and flexible that it works for both!
The archive feature is confusing. Archived data sometimes turns up in reports and sometimes not.
Easy for my staff to use. With previous software, they complained that it took longer to log the task than to actually do it!
I like how easy it is to move jobs around - we do that a lot in the production team so it's great that it's so user friendly.
I'd really like a copy and paste function where you can copy a job on one day and press a button and it appears on another day.
Knowing where the team is and what capacity everyone has means we can work together and support each other when others are light in capacity.
Time management, ease of access and flexible
user control, adding a template and adding hours
Clear vision on weekly to-dos
That you can see in a glance and update users availability and projects in less then a minute.
The mobile app slowed down when using the search feature.
Everyone always has a job scheduled without missing a beat
The software is extremely user friendly. I experienced no issues.
There isn’t anything that I dislike about the software.
Float assisted with my overall day to day operations.
Used in addition to Toggle and we get an effective combination
From time to time some bugs but what software is perfect?
Effective communication, we know who does what
I love the visual aspects of Float; it makes it easy to see where our team is and which client they are working for on any given day.
There is honestly not much to dislike, but sometimes I wish it took fewer clicks to assign a particular category or client to a task.
Float helps us keep a birds-eye view of where our staff is, and what their calendar looks like in the near future.
We use this for scheduling our teams for all of the employees to be able to track and schedule.
At the moment I have not been able to come up with any issues that may cause a problem.
Each manager can add their own jobs and we can all see the daily schedule
Simplicity, ease of search, user experience
The only thing that would make it easier is if you could copy paste titles (like job numbers) from pop ups.
Our resourcing and trafficking has become much easier and more streamlined
SImple and easier to use. makes work life a lot clearer and organised.
To now i have not experienced any problems with the software. Genuinely.
Organisation from the top to bottom of the business. Makes everyones job much easier.
I can easily see the jobs and resources in one view
Changing the duration of the timeline is confusin
resource allocation and clarity
It's clear and easy to use, I like seeing everyone's schedules
There isn't much to dislike, it's clear and easy to use
N/a
The ease to find people and compare times. The organization of all the projects.
The interface could be a little better, but nothing that bothers me too much
Time schedule and project work time! We benefit a lot from not having conflicted hours or defining what any employee should be doing at which time.
The easy Way of seeing the overview of my alocated times in diffrent project over time
The bad design on the web and mobile views
Long time overview of resources
Kudos to you guys! I love the newer faster Float! You are making my job much easier & faster. Love the faster navigating/scrolling and the changing of a task’s time by scrolling on the schedule up or down beats the hell out of having to open the task and do it from there. Love the new feature that you can hover over the work task and the notes appear without having to open the task. Great job, keep it up!
Would like to be able to move a task to the afternoon (or lower in the cell) for a day where it is not a full days worth of hours and there is nothing else for that employee that day. Example, I have a technician on a 4 hour training course and it is in the afternoon. He has nothing else scheduled that day but I can't move the task lower in the cell so it looks like it is scheduled for the morning. It would be nice if you could hover over the "Time off" cells and see the notes associated with it , like you can for a work task, without having to open the "time off" cell.
We used to use a HUGE white board and dry erase markers for our schedule. We thought that this was the best way for us to tackle our job scheduling and Float was met with a bit of resistance once the boss said we were going to try it. WOW, were we wrong. I would never look back now that we are using Float. One of the best tools we ever used. We are scheduling anywhere from 18 to 26 techs on this program and I fully encourage anyone even thinking of possibly trying out a program for scheduling to do your self a favor and try out Float. I'd be shocked if your not impressed by it.
