I love the final look of the web sites I've done using Go Daddy. They look professional and the web tools are intuitive.
Do not like the email, 365, and other elements. There is a lack of clarity on usage, and if you are using it for your organization an up-sell dynamic that can leave you spending more than you thought when you bought the domain and basic package.
I've used my current site to accept payments. It is a nice one stop way to see programming while encouraging donations, without the donor having to go to another site or write a check.
Easy to search, purchase and manage domains from an online portal
Lack of competition in domain purchasing market, GoDaddy frequently sends marketing materials via email to get you to add services, domains, etc.
One-stop shop for basic hosting and domain purchases; always easy to transfer domains hosted elsewhere to GoDaddy's platform
GoDaddy makes hosting a personal (or business) website very simple. They have starter templates for those who need assistance with creating their pages, and in the hosting center they offer a plethora of ready-to-install applications that with a simple wizard you can install and begin to use right away.
GoDaddy has become a major player for US hosting, and they know it. Their prices are typically good, but they nickel and dime customers on everything.
Not provided
GoDaddy's support team is available 24/7 and they are extremely helpful and informative. Their cheap web hosting packages make it affordable for all business types!
The availability of their support team 24/7 is commendable, but unfortunately, there have been instances where the wait time on hold can range from 45-60 minutes. Moreover, the lack of coherence between the representatives available on chat versus those on the phone can make problem resolution a challenging experience.
Providing cheap hosting options for web hosting, email hosting, domain registration, and other products such as SSL Certificates.
I can quickly search a domain of my choice, register it and update DNS addresses to point to my website address. Plus, each domain registration doesn't cost a lot, so it's monthly price is affordable. Additionally, if I have any technical questions around how to adjust DNS settings or buy a domain if it has already been registered by someone else, I can contact their technical support which is helpful.
Website design and SEO services are not the best. Also, difficult to transfer domains from one registrar to another. Since GoDaddy invests lot of their earnings in commercial advertising, there is this constant feeling that domain registration prices may go up too.
I am using GoDaddy domain registration services to find .com domains and point their DNS addresses to an e-commerce website I build and maintain for a food and apparel retailer. The key benefit I have realized from using GoDaddy is: find top-level .com domains quickly and at affordable prices. I can attract new customers, engage them and sell the retailer's products and services using an economical domain hosting and e-commerce site-building service.
It's cheap but some free are better, well if for company it's just ok
Not much features it's cheap but very less attachment size for an office use
We I use it on our organizations mail server
In Godaddy you can find great hosting packs for a great prize, making it great for small to medium websites with not so much traffic on it. You have many tools and features that will help you establish a great online presence.
Technical support could be a lot better, actually many of the guys that answer the call will not be prepared to answer technical questions that are not so complicated. Also, it's a bit annoying how they try to sell you almost everything on the way to your checkout when you only want something simple like a domain name. It a bit aggresive and sometimes you can end up buying things you don't want or need.
I solved hosting issues for my clients, when they are on a budget and need the best with the money they have.
For the most part, it was easy to learn, navigate and manage servers and cPanel. Our premium hosting support rep went above and beyond to the best of his ability when he was available.
Limited storage space for backups with a huge fee to upgrade space. Their new security service, Securi, is not so much that as it is a security monitoring service. Uptime Robot works just as well. Very large cost to have a server cleaned up if it gets hacked and GoDaddy takes no responsibility for it. A lot of downtime on private servers, though we managed our space very well. The GoDaddy website is laggy, so I guess that should have been a sign.
GoDaddy is inexpensive and on the high end of low priced hosting services. It stays low priced if you only use basic services and it's easy to manage. I'd say it's good for beginners and small businesses requiring less than 5 domains, email and hosting services. Not a good choice for mid to large sized companies or small businesses that require secure dedicated servers.
Everyone recommends, trusted service that it well known.
Customer service is like roulette. Sometimes you get someone who knows what they're talking about and other times you get wrong information. In my case it took a whole week for them to help me set up my SSL because I kept receiving wrong information from the reps.
Website hosting, SSL.
Really nice people work there and have got to know many of them when attending conferences they put on and have invited me to. They also have a great office environment, if you ever have the opportunity to visit one of their offices, or even work for them, great environment and people.
Unfortunately a lot. Pricing is a big thing. I know, you think their prices are great, but compare what you get for the price with competitors and in most cases there is no comparison. Support is ok, but not great. They have several levels of support and you always are sent to level 1 which can only do basic stuff. Anything more advanced has to be escalated. But at level 1 you have to be careful. We've had at least 2 occasions where the support rep completely disabled a client website and was offline for a full business day and other occasions where the rep just didn't understand or would not admit it was a Godaddy issue (which it was every time). They don't like to admit when they are wrong or it's their fault. The customer control panel is buggy and clunky and at least once or twice a week would have issues that caused me not to be able to renew a domain, update DNS or transfer a domain. They are now (finally) in beta with a new control panel, but it's still 'clunky' and the UI (design) is not the best for me. Everything is so BIG and spaced out and often slow to load (funny for a hosting company!), where I prefer everything to be neat, tightly laid out and fast. Also, as of the last few years, we have to pay to get discounted pricing on domains, regardless of volume, new policy. Because of all these issues, I've been moving all our domains to a competitor which by the way doesn't charge for the privilege of discounting and give discounts based on volume, which we do, and have a very clean, fast and very responsive and fast support.
We have been a customer with Godaddy for 15 years and are grateful for their help with our domain registrations. We have grown our portfolio with Godaddy and have been able to buy and sell domains through their system.
GoDaddy is relatively simple to use. It allows for templates which we can save so all employees can access them. It’s also affordable.
Sometimes trying to add attachments gets tricky for some reason. The drag and drop feature doesn’t always work.
GoDaddy let’s us use the name of our business as our email which makes us easy to find and is simple for clients to remember.
Customer service and simplicity of site.
Slow web-based editor for site that clitches at times.
Web communication and presents.
Customer service was exceptional. Available 24/7 by phone. Very responsive.
Limited features with website. Premium pricing.
I needed to build a quick website and the speed to launch was nice.
I have used the domain registration facility by Godaddy.I like the robust all-in-one for your domain and hosting needs. I liked when I was on a company plan level and had a dedicated support/account representative.
It's not even kind of user friendly. It takes way to many clicks to get anywhere. The pop-ups and upsales make me feel harassed. Their tools are not the best one, the website builder has a poor UI/UX and it takes a little more time than normal to get the changes running on the website.
I am using Godaddy to register for domain names .There customer service is very much friendly and they are always ready to solve my problem as quick as they can.
Its easy to use and hassle free. The prices are competitive also
There is not too much I do not like about Go Daddy.
Website real estate
Godaddy shines in the area of providing inexpensive ways to get your business set up with domain registration, website hosting, and email hosting.
I dislike the nickel and dime approach to just about everything from making your domain private to paying for each increment for server RAM for web hosting. It becomes annoying to know that the $100 per year service can quickly add up to $500 if you're not careful of which options you choose.
Most small companies have simple needs like email and webpages. I've leveraged GoDaddy's services to provide those things for my clients.
The easy way of obtaining server domain. It can get inexpensive.
The fact that it leaks the user information! I consistently used to get a phone call from "helpers" that they would make a website for my domain. This got on my nerves.
domain registrations & website hosting
I have used GoDaddy to create multiple personal websites. I use GoDaddy for its quick setup and ability to get my websites hosted, created and up and running instantly.
I would like GoDaddy to be less commercial and reduce the amount of add-ins that they try to push on you when you set up your account.
The main business problem that I was solving was creating an online presence through the creation of my website. I was also looking for the ability to sell products and have a webmail account set up so I could have communications through my account with my customers.
Easy to renew website and keep track of which domains have been purchased and used.
The administration on the godaddy.com website can take some getting used to.
We are able to maintain the domain rights for old websites as our firm has evolved over the years, as well as purchased domains for possible future sites.
It's very easy to use and easy to teach a client to use. There are some good templates
It's difficult to change anything within the templates. Unless you get a premium membership you're stuck with a selection of templates that are sub-par. Has some problems conforming webpage to fit on mobile devices correctly.
Making webpages more accessible to general public, easy of use with clients.
