Obviously the key with OVH hosting is the price, which is much lower than most of their competitors for superior or equivalent features. We also like that there's no concept of a long-term contract with OVH, everything is based on a monthly agreement basic.
The lack of any advanced technical support or deployment help. OVH is more like a cheap priced, self-service hosting solution. So if you try to deploy your software on a OVH hosting plan/server and meet some kind of issues, don't expect to find any answer at OVH technical support, because it's not part of the deal!
We needed a reliable hosting solution, located inside the Canada (OVH Canada datacenter is at Beauharnois, QC) and we needed a web host that own all of the highest security certifications and OVH own them all.

The best thing about ovh is that it has a wide range of product support from hosintg services, VPS, dedicated servers and so on. Another good thing is that all prices are very cheap and let you experiment feature for small period of times, let you change service whethever you want. Another good thing is that they own lot of bandwidth so we never had bandwidth issues.
Support is very poor, i've contacted them many times without active solution of problems. Some time heappens that we had problems and the support negate the evidence of them, saying that it was our problem and so closed the ticket without resolution.
We externalized some services, like, VPN, hosting server and some dedicated server. We also migrate some customer to dedicated VPS. We also made a node for backup of our infrastructure from another cloud service.
It is very fast and the company creates and runs its own data centres, which is unusual for a hosting provider. They also offer cutting-edge network connectivity, security, and other features that contribute to a pleasant overall hosting experience.
Customer service is atrocious. They are a complete disaster. Condescending, nasty, and unhelpful. They closed my ticket without resolving or completely checking it.

The service is bad. I ordered 2 dedicated servers to launch in 52 seconds, and it took them more than 7 days (and still not delivered yet). They have a good ticket system, but I'm not sure they have PEOPLE to answer your question. I asked them and in 7 days, not a single response.
I want to build a private cloud for my customers, I see high positive reviews on G2 and yeah, I wasted my time with OVH. So if you read this review and consider using OVH, think again and thank me later.
That I no longer have to deal with them. The only thing I regret more than ordering from OVH is ordering on an annual plan. Never ever deal with these pricks.
Absolutly everything. They charged us a fortune, the product was crap, their dashboard was slow to the point of being nearly unusable, their support was useless, they take at least a week to reply to any ticket - and at the end, they refused to refund our remaining account credit (despite saying that they would). They're liars, thieves, and innept fools. Run away!

Their support is so bad! I had to tell one of the techs how to upload an image for example. I was told it couldn't be done! Had multiple disconnects going on and no one seemed to want to help troubleshoot. Asked certain questions hoping to be shown and just got support links sent to follow steps. Firewall in place sucks. It didn't work half the time. Stay away!
We were looking for a Canadian host for cloud servers.
I have only had dedicated bare metal servers from OVH and the servers have always been delivered in a very short and expected time frame. Every thing works great so long you do not experience any issues.
The support is just not there. one of my servers suffered severe performance lag. I hired 3 experts to look at it and none of them was able to diagnose or find anything. After 2 months passed with a struggling server, many many hours were spent researching other providers and other solutions and in the way lost several clients. I got an alert email from the temperature monitoring system saying the CPU is running hot and the colling system had failed. When that happened the support was totally on it. Scheduled an intervention within a few hours, and replaced the faulty hardware. And magically the server's performance was immediately back to normal. However, it took 2 months of running with a broken colling system for the temperature monitoring to send an alert. That is very alarming. OVH completely ignored my requests for reimbursement or compensation. they simply did not answer or acknowledge any of it happening. I am moving away from OVH to WPMUDEV and that has been a day and night difference in terms of support.
OVH products are offered at a fairly competitive price especially when you commit to a year or longer.
Moving onto another provider. This was the worst hosting experience ever.
Stood up a new VPS with this company based on turn up time, not prior reviews for a small local pool company. Within 10 minutes of the server being active, I begin to receive notices that the box has been compromised. At this point, we've yet to even log into it. So, the password provided and created by OVH was compromised. We reset the instance, reinstalled, and we set a 32 character password: Within 10 minutes - here we go again with the box being compromised. After hours and hours of going through server logs and working with their less than helpfull support, I found nothing. Nothing at all. No Malware, No RootKit, No Virus, No access logs, nothing. Nothing at all. This goes on for months and months. Finally had enough when they began to shut the server off on their own. When I complained about that, they started adding random firewall rules to block traffic, and then blames us. Finally fed up, and threatened to take it to social media - they send us a disconnect notice. Had issues with OVH since day .5 So happy to have left them and went with a real company based in the USA and not offshore.
OVH has created problems for us, not solving them. They are by far, the most deceptive hosting company we've ever used, and we're so happy we've moved on.
When I started using ovh in 2015, it was a good company. I remember one time I needed some tech advice from their tech support. They were so helpful that make me renew my server for a long term contract, and that was my big mestake because now everything is worth more than all other competitors
The panel is one of the worth cpanel in the industry, and support can sometimes take weeks to replay. The system is basically falling apart, and the network speed is average.

Absolutely the worst experience with any host, ever. I set up a server. Then downloaded files from my Google Drive. They shut down the server. I contacted tech support and they said it was a violation of 'terms of use' I escalated and they said it had been resolved I finished the download and configuration. Then I did about a week of software development. Then I tried uploading my work to my Google Drive. They DELETED THE SERVER WITHOUT WARNING. No backup, no notice, nothing. Then I tried to contact customer service. There is no way to phone, chat or email. Online tickets only. NO RESPONSE FOR OVER 24 HOURS. Then the same crap about 'violation of terms of service' - to use Google DRive! Rude and incompetent tech support finally said 'nothing can be done' I asked for a refund but they refused
None Too bad. about 5 years ago I used them for a different client and it was pretty good. Except for when their entire data center crashed - I mean the ENTIRE THING, their internet backbone went down and it took about 8 hours to get back. Use at your own risk, and make sure you backup onto some other service.
I'd purchased a VPS plan on the 18th of Sept, I tried to set it up three times, but it always returned with some error. The first time issue with root access, 2nd time issue with outdated command, and third time with securing VPS, I gave up after 3rd attempt and wanted to cancel the VPS, but their cancel form always returned with an error. then I'd opened a support ticket to cancel the order, and they replied after three days, "Please note that we offer the refund only if there are any hardware faults." I explained then the next day; they replied, "Our billing team has reviewed your refund request, and we regret to inform you that you are not eligible for a refund." Their stupid server is not workings, and now they don't refund for it too. I lost my money, but you better be careful.

That I did not sign up with my credit card, instead, with paypal, so I could only get stung for the first payment.
1. That its not sign up, and get busy. Its a manual process that requires someone to approve and set up, days later. 2. Then when you get an email saying, yep, all working... nothing works. Cpanel passwords did not work, and no root password. Followed instructions to reinstall everything to reset, nothing worked. 3. No live chat. 4. Ticketing system that makes you go through a dozen questions that are of no use before you can create a ticket. 5. Ticket is unanswered for 24, to 48 hrs. 6. The answers, were not useful. Nothing helped me actually get Cpanel working, and instead of setting me up with a root password... i was given command line instructions on how to do it? Heres a tip. Just give me the god damn access... not some set of instructions, none of which have worked to date... days after I requested them. 7. On cancellation, you don't pay for what is used, you pay for what youve paid. No refunds. So I had paid a month in advance, it didn't work, i left, i lose that money. Thank god i didn't pay a year in advance. I moved to Digital Ocean, I was literally up and running in minutes. The absolute worst experience with a VPS host ever.

It was an easy to setup service and it has been steady for a few years. There is really nothing else to like in my opinion.
When something breaks (server down) there is no actual support just people on the phone telling you that things will be get fixed but even after 3 days of numerous tickets and phone to support the tickets are unanswered and the server is unreachable ... absolutely unprofessional. Numerous ticket and phone calls on incident on 20/5/2020 have gone unanswered and VPS unreachable so I have decided to move away from this service.

Support is horrendous, if things don't just magically work for you, expect to go multiple weeks without responses on your tickets, especially if they require any level of skill to answer properly. I'd say my normal response time at this point is somewhere around 3 weeks.

OVH offers less space in their VPS plans as compared to Contabo.com etc also memory and CPU are less than contabo
I always wanted multiple geo-located ips at cheap price for my seo company. and ovh given me 16 ips from a different location with each of my VPS setup which was amazing
You can literally store any type of data like images, videos etc which makes it a very efficient cloud service provider. Additionally, you're charged for only the space that you're utilizing which makes it more convenient for users where they're only paying for what they're using.
The data retrieval process takes quite long, so, retrieving the files from the cloud is time consuming. Also, the uploading process look quite technical and not very user friendly which makes it another disadvantages.
The fact that it provides an option of continuous and regular backup makes our work easy. We do't have to manually go and upload our data and it is done automatically. Rsync tool does it all for us. Also, they provide good security for our data and the data is stored archived which consumes lesser space.
