i like getting website results and tracking info
sometimes it doesn't load well on my computer
we track our website stats
I really like the charts and that you can make customer reports.
This is not a very user friendly platform. Coming from a previous company who had our own itnernal reporting system, learning GA was complicated as there are so many different ways to pull data. In some cases, there are days in which data has flown over incorrctly as well.
Having the custom reports feature always me to work faster and better.
The software does as it is intended to do, analyses.
Google Analytics is clunky and takes time to learn how to use the software.
I use the software to analyse data in content whilst trying to gain insights into how content sells online.
The tool has a free option, allowing anyone to begin tracking their web traffic and opening the world of web analytics to larger audiences
Many of the metrics have hidden definitions that cause major confusion for many users. Sessions at the hit level are not in fact total sessions, just entry sessions for that hit. The sampling also gets to the point where the data is unusable, even on the paid 360 plan. We've dealt with numerous issues where it appears there's a large issue with our site, but instead it's simply that the report someone is using has been sampled at 0.3% and none of the data is actually accurate - the sampled data could show over 2k visits to a page when in reality it was only 15 users. Also, the inability to make any adjustments to existing data (even for a fee) adds to the need for users to only use the raw extract and create your own reports that have the accurate data you need to gain real insights in to your web traffic
Knowing how much traffic is on the page
It's nice to see graphs and statistics related to website data.
N/A - I like how all of it is in the google platform.
Understanding how to market the organization better.
the big query part of Analytics. easy to use and understand. handling of big datasets
cost factor, compare to other tools, its costly. also less option for visuals
issue with large datasets and doing predictive analysis. easy update of data with liw latency is useful.
It helped us track our sales and user counts/page views. it allows us to make up to date decisions regarding our traffic, sales, strategies, and budgets for our advertising and web presence.
It wasnt easy to navigate and know what each tab did what. Just use simple english instead of really technical jargon that most non-developers dont understand.
I had to use analytics for our company, and unfortunately, Analytics requires a bit of coding/web design experience in order to link it, and I don't have that and neither did anyone else in our team. There should be a way to link Analytics to a page without having to edit the code in the site for those not code-friendly.
It has a lot of data right out of the box. If you know where to look you can gather good insights but you can also be easily mislead.
It's so hard to find GOOD insights. Data is so specific to the company and use cases that you have to weed through a bunch of data that could be entirely useless or at worse misleading.
GA has provided a lot of insights into performance of our websites. After implementing GA with some enhanced ecomm capabilities we were able to make 30% YoY revenue improvements on our web store with some testing.
It is a well thought out platform, and I appreciate how quickly I can generate useful statistics every month. Our office doesn't have a Communications person, so the task of social media and web analytics is routinely passed off to people who are undertrained. This program is easy to pick up!
It's not totally compatible for every website--because of the way website is designed, we can't get analytics for every single page. This is frustrating!
We absolutely use it to improve our website and community outreach methods. We've used it to justify the need for larger media staff, as well.
Endless features to monitor traffic, clicks, and user info. on our websites.
Way too many features, confusing for a first time user.
We needed to re-define our target audience and Google Analytics helped us re-define to realize our audience.
I love that it works as fast you want it to. You can also get data to help reach target demographics. I use it for YouTube ads and Google ads and it works well with data in realtime.
If I had issues I would not use it. I'm very happy with the data and results that comes from using the service.
Targeting demographics, developing monetizing video advertising strategies.
I am able to investigate referral traffic, paid search, user platforms and so much more.
Nothing. It helps me do my job well and make my clients happy.
Helping my clients understand their audience and increase their ROI
Can track ad performance. Shows what devices people are using
Can be a little confusing to beginners to set up.
What ads and content is most trafficked and popular
simple, easy to use, web based, robust, good dashboards
maybe too much functionality, don't like having to install google tracking tools on my websites
website analytics for measurement and reporting
I like that you can get as detailed as you want
That there isn't a easy way for non savvy people to make quick reports.
I like to know what people are looking at and reacting to on my site.
I feel it is very important to know how effective your advertising is and google analytics helps in that respect by indicating how people are reaching your website.
Sometimes the information can be a bit confusing to decipher.
Advertising budget constraints; where to place your advertising dollars. Google analytics has helped us make more informed marketing decisions which in turn has helped increase our bottom line.
Google Analytics allows me to access my Clients numbers when they are using their own reporting system. This allows us to match up what we are seeing on our end to what the client is seeing on their end, and thus allowing us to reconcile the numbers so that they are seeing the same results as us.
Google Analytics UI is very difficult to navigate. When I am searching for my Client and their respective Campaigns, it typically takes me a long time to find their actual numbers. This can cause errors in how we access their reporting, or delays in getting back to the client.
I am reconciling our numbers vs. our clients numbers with Google Analytics. It is important that our numbers match theirs, as this is typically how we bill our clients. If our numbers are vastly different, it requires additional digging on our end to discover the source of the discrepancy.
Clearly seeing site data, where traffic is coming from, what content is most popular on our site.
Most features require special web code to be installed on our site in order to use them. Example, for events or for tracking internal or external links. It’s hard since we don’t have an in-house web person, it seems at every turn we need to put in a lot of web work in order to have the analytics we want tracked.
Seeing customer behavior on site to recognize what’s working and what isn’t.
Analytics is a reliable program for tracking web visits. You can definitely get a lot of data about site visitors.
However, many of the promised bits of information are lacking or unavailable. The full potential of analytics is not realized.
Analytics is used to track website visits, effectiveness of google ads, and conversions. It provides clear reports, but requires more time and energy than our small non-profit can put in on the daily.
The benefit to Google Analytics is that it plays well with the rest of the suite of Google products. With such a dominant market share, it makes sense to use the same analytics platform as you are using for your website, SEO, and paid ad campaigns.
The problem with Google Analytics is that you are basically stuck with it. There is no real alternative so you simply have to accept any problems you might have with it.
I am seeing how well my ads perform and analyzing the traffic to my website.
I like how easy the interface is to use and the amount of ease and clarity that the information from the website is displayed
Once you update the website, it seems that the analytics are lost and don't show as shown in my screenshot.
Traffic and site visit time data
I think it gets easier the more you use it.
My web designer had to walk me through a lot of it.
With a new website, I needed the most efficient tool to drive business. Google analytics helped us improve and increase clickthroughs
You can find a lot of information about your target audience and it is a cheap resource to use
There is a lot of information to remember you need to review information frequently unless you use cite on a regular bases
Google analytics has currently helped me obtain my degree as the university feels it will be a core competency
The best of Google Analytics is that have relation with each product of Google Suite. In other words, you can measure a web site or a native apps, etc.
The panel administration is not clear. Google should improve the panel administration.
Before in my business, We had not any tools to measure our traffic. With Google Analytics, Now We had full control about likes customer and yours opinions.
Easy and quick report and dashboard building and customization.
Sampling data, and when you export data, it only exports the default number of rows shown instead of all the data. You have to select all 5000+ view (which slows down the platform) and then export.
Helps with identifying and diagnosing traffic trends across multiple channels, identifying where users spend the most time on site, which content is most engaging, and how users navigate through the site.
You can pass anything through into Google Analytics as long as you know how to operate it. If you can filter in UTM codes and possibly work through double-click, you can try to form an attribution model.
$150k+ if you have decent size traffic and you want to use it? Get out of here, Google.
Attribution, applying specialized audiences in advertising channels and troubleshooting pixel dropoff.
I enjoy that it can give us super precise and accurate information.
There are so many different ways to use the program that it becomes super easy to mess up and do something wrong. The thing is just overly complicated.
We are using it to track the user of our website and to see if there are ways that we can better market to potential clients
Gives good data that is formatted attractively
The platform is unwieldy and confusing to even a seasoned user
Data analysis for web traffic
I like that the platform is so user friendly
I dislike that the interface is changing and still feel uncomfortable in the new interface. Id also like to have AWords editor more integrated into the AdWords interface.
We serve ads through the interface and use the editing and analysis tools provided.
summary page shows me most of what I need
I question the accuracy due to possible bot activity
Still analyzing best uses; I'm concerned that the data is inaccurate and don't know how bots are distinguished from actual users; or in house site visits vs true new hits.
