InventorySource answers the commission question better than almost anyone in dropshipping: “We do not sit as the middleman and only charge a monthly fee for our software services and do not take a commission on sales/orders.” Then the same sentence ends: “US Direct is different from Inventory Source and does charge credit card and order fees.” US Direct is the supplier network InventorySource promotes hardest — and those fees appear on no page we could find.
- What it is: Dropship automation software that syncs supplier catalogues, inventory and pricing to your store, and optionally routes orders.
- Best for: Established retailers running several supplier feeds, not first-time dropshippers.
- Pricing: Free directory, then $199–$599 a month. No annual billing. Verified July 2026.
- The honest catch: Order automation starts at $299, and US Direct requires it.
What Is InventorySource?
InventorySource is a dropship automation platform, not a supplier. It connects your store — Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, eBay and 20-plus others — to your own dropship suppliers’ product feeds, then keeps catalogue data, stock levels and prices in sync automatically. Its Catalog Manager handles pricing rules, category mapping and product filtering. A Full Automation tier adds order routing to suppliers and shipment tracking back to the customer.
It also runs US Direct, a pre-approved supplier network sold separately.
How InventorySource Works
- Two plan families: Inventory Automation and Full Automation.
- Two sizes each: Starter and Power Seller.
- Extra integrations are $50 a month, on every plan.
- No commission on your sales.
- No annual billing anywhere.
- US Direct is a separate purchase.

What actually decides your cost:
- No commission on sales is real, and it matters more here than the monthly price. Asked directly whether it marks up pricing or takes a cut, InventorySource answers: “Inventory Source provide the exact pricing that you receive from your supplier. We do not sit as the middleman and only charge a monthly fee for our software services and do not take a commission on sales/orders.” In a category where per-order margin skimming is common, a flat software fee is the buyer-friendly model, and it means the price you see is the price you pay — for the software.
-
But the same answer discloses fees it never quantifies. It continues: “US Direct is different from Inventory Source and does charge credit card and order fees.” US Direct is InventorySource’s own pre-approved supplier network, promoted throughout the site. Its US Direct page then adds that “we have multiple pricing plans offering reduced order fees, order volume credits and added services” and links to “view and purchase all US Direct pricing plans here”. That link goes to
gousdirect.com/membership-plans/, which redirects to a page carrying no plans and no prices at all — just a sign-up flow, under a “© 2022” footer. So the fees are acknowledged, and then not published. - US Direct also requires the $299 plan, which the pricing page never says. Buried in the US Direct page: “It’s important to note that a Full Automation Plan is required in order to add a US Direct integration.” Anyone drawn in by the promise of instant access to pre-approved suppliers is looking at $299 a month minimum, not the $199 entry tier — plus a US Direct membership, plus per-order and credit-card fees of unstated size.
- Overage costs more per order than the orders you already paid for. Full Automation costs exactly $100 more than Inventory Automation at both sizes, and that $100 buys order routing plus an allowance — 500 orders on Starter, 1,000 on Power Seller. That works out at $0.20 per included order on Starter and $0.10 on Power Seller. Overage is billed at $0.30 and $0.20. So extra orders cost 1.5× the included rate on Starter and 2× on Power Seller — and the larger plan penalises overage proportionally more, which is the opposite of the usual direction. If you routinely exceed your allowance, upgrading is cheaper than paying through it.
- The upgrade crossover lands on exactly eight integrations, in both families. Extra integrations are $50 a month, and Starter includes two against Power Seller’s ten. Starter with six add-ons costs $199 + $300 = $499 — precisely Power Seller’s price — and the Full Automation pair ties the same way at $299 + $300 = $599. At that tie Power Seller also doubles the SKU limit to 500,000 (and, on Full Automation, doubles the order allowance). So from eight integrations onward Power Seller is strictly better: identical cost, twice the capacity. Below six, Starter plus add-ons wins.
- There is no annual billing, and no discount for committing. Every card reads “Per Month”, and the words “annual” and “yearly” appear nowhere in the page’s source. That cuts both ways: no 15–20% saving of the kind most of this category offers, but no lock-in either, and month-to-month suits seasonal sellers.
-
The obvious pricing URL goes to a page with no prices.
inventorysource.com/pricingredirects to/dropshipping-software/, a features page carrying not a single figure; the real prices live at/pricing-plans/, which is where the site’s own navigation points. Only buyers who guess the URL are misrouted — but they are misrouted to a page that looks like it should have prices and does not.
Who Should Use InventorySource
- Retailers with several existing suppliers. The core case — automating feeds you already have, at $199 a month.
- Sellers wanting hands-off order routing. Full Automation from $299, including tracking sync back to the customer.
- Anyone researching suppliers. The free directory shows every supplier and their contact details with no card.
- Established operations, not first shops. Ten integrations and 500,000 SKUs is a serious catalogue.
It fits poorly for beginners testing an idea, where $199 a month before a single sale is steep; for anyone whose order volume sits just above an allowance; and for buyers who need to know the total cost of US Direct before committing.
Honest Pros and Cons
Strengths
- No commission and no markup on your sales.
- A genuinely free supplier directory, including contact details.
- Full product-data sync, not just stock levels.
- $50 flat for extra integrations on every plan.
- No annual lock-in — month to month throughout.
- Straight answers in the FAQ, including inconvenient ones.
Limitations
- US Direct’s order and card fees are unpublished.
- The “view all pricing plans” link lands on a page with no prices.
- US Direct needs the $299 plan, disclosed only on another page.
- Overage costs 1.5–2× the included rate.
- $199 a month is a high floor for new sellers.
- No annual discount of any kind.
InventorySource Alternatives and How It Compares
- Spocket targets smaller sellers with US and EU suppliers at far lower entry prices.
- SaleHoo is primarily a vetted supplier directory rather than an automation layer.
- Printful covers print-on-demand, a different model with no monthly floor.
- Doba competes directly on aggregated supplier catalogues.
- Spark Shipping is the closest rival on multi-supplier order routing.

The Verdict
InventorySource gets the most important thing right. Asked whether it marks up supplier pricing or takes a cut of what it automates, it says plainly that it does not: “we do not sit as the middleman… and do not take a commission on sales/orders.” In dropshipping, where the software sitting between you and your supplier is often quietly funded by your margin, that flat-fee model is worth real money — and it makes the sticker price meaningful in a way competitors’ often is not. The free supplier directory is a genuine one too, with contact details and no card required, which is useful even if you never buy the software.
The gap is what sits beside that promise. The same FAQ answer ends: “US Direct is different from Inventory Source and does charge credit card and order fees.” US Direct is InventorySource’s own pre-approved supplier network, pushed throughout the site as the fast path to selling. Its fees are never quantified. Its page says there are “multiple pricing plans offering reduced order fees, order volume credits and added services” and offers to let you “view and purchase all US Direct pricing plans here” — and that link resolves to a page with no plans and no prices on it, beneath a 2022 copyright. The same page also reveals, in passing, that US Direct requires a Full Automation plan: $299 a month minimum, not the $199 headline. None of this is on the pricing page.
The software pricing itself is clean and rewards a few minutes of arithmetic. Order automation costs a flat $100 a month at both plan sizes, but buys 500 orders on Starter and 1,000 on Power Seller — $0.20 versus $0.10 per included order. Overage runs $0.30 and $0.20, so extra orders cost 1.5× the included rate on Starter and 2× on Power Seller; if you are regularly over, upgrade rather than pay through. And because extra integrations are $50 flat, Starter plus add-ons ties Power Seller at exactly eight integrations in both families — at which point Power Seller hands you twice the SKU limit for the same money. Below six integrations, stay on Starter.
The last thing to price in is the floor. $199 a month before your first sale, or $299 if you want orders routed, with no annual option and no discount for committing. That is an established-retailer price, not a first-shop price, and InventorySource is honest that it is a software company rather than a supplier. If you already run several supplier feeds by hand, the maths works quickly. If you are still testing whether dropshipping works for you, start with the free directory and get US Direct’s fee schedule in writing before you go further.
FAQ
How much does InventorySource cost?
The supplier directory is free. Inventory Automation is $199 a month (Starter, 2 integrations, 250k SKUs) or $499 (Power Seller, 10 integrations, 500k SKUs). Full Automation, which adds order routing and tracking, is $299 (500 orders included) or $599 (1,000 orders). Extra integrations are $50 a month on any plan. There is no annual billing option.
Does InventorySource take a commission on sales?
No. Its FAQ states that it provides “the exact pricing that you receive from your supplier”, does not act as a middleman, and takes no commission on sales or orders — only the monthly software fee. The one exception it names is US Direct, its own supplier network, which “does charge credit card and order fees”. Those fees are not published.
What is US Direct and what does it cost on top?
US Direct is InventorySource’s pre-approved supplier network, giving access to over 100,000 products without individual supplier approval. It requires a Full Automation plan ($299 a month or more), carries its own membership plans, and charges credit-card and per-order fees. We could not find any of those figures published: the link offering to “view and purchase all US Direct pricing plans” leads to a page with no prices.
Which InventorySource plan should I choose?
It turns on integration count. Starter plus $50 add-ons is cheaper up to five integrations, ties Power Seller at eight, and costs more beyond that. Because Power Seller also doubles the SKU limit to 500,000 — and the order allowance on Full Automation — eight integrations is the point to switch. If you exceed your monthly order allowance regularly, upgrading beats paying the overage, which runs 1.5 to 2 times the included rate.
Does InventorySource offer an annual discount?
No. Every plan is billed monthly, and the words “annual” and “yearly” do not appear anywhere on the pricing page or in its source. There is no commitment discount, but equally no lock-in — which suits sellers with seasonal volume, though it does mean forgoing the 15–20% annual saving common elsewhere in this category.
