As an SDR I like that it keeps me honest when i wax poetic. It challenges me to thing about what I'm writing. It helps me put out quality. And it upped our teams response rate. Any SDR teams out there could benefit from this. I've already recommended this to friends. Love that it gives the mobile view so I can see what it will look like on a prospect's phone
The window gets in the way of my email and to close it is a little tedious. But that is minor.
Solving the issue of getting prospects to respond to an email. It helps by using actual data to tell you the likelihood of response. If anyone saw moneyball - its the moneyball system for email
Unlike any other writing assistant. I love how easy it is to get immediate feedback on emails. Favorite feature hands down is the live coaching-- I can see right away what to change without having to think. My open and response rates improved right after downloading the plugin! Added bonus-- seeing your insights. I'm always aiming to get an A-grade email, and it's interesting to see my improvement over time.
No dislikes here. The only thing is I wish I could use it on mobile! It'd be super helpful for emailing on the go. Also wish I could save templates and see the effectiveness of each. But other than that... this is hands down one of my favorite tools in the stack.
I'm an SDR, and this really helps with cold emails. Many other tools out there just help with grammar. Lavender helps with grammar AND effectiveness of your outreach. Sure, you can have a manager or team member look over your emails... but that takes up quite a bit of time. Lavenders a real time, 24/7 sales email coach.
Lavender is an essential tool for anybody who sends emails externally. Learn how to communicate better with one simple plug-in.
There are no downsides to using Lavender. It will only help you write better emails that people actually read and reply to.
Lavender is a MUST for anybody who writes external emails. If you are communicating with prospects in a sales or marketing role, it's an essential tool. It's so reasonably priced and there is no reason you shouldn't already be using it.
This is a tough question honestly, like the more I talk about Lavender the less it would be. Lavender has made my life easier when it comes to crafting new cold emails, the Mobile Editor feature is amazing and gives you an idea of how your emails would look while reading on a cell phone screen. Remember most prospects are on the go and checking emails on their mobile so this is a game-changer. Next, I'd recommend the feature to concise your emails and cut the fluff. I wish I had this product 5 years back and life would have been different. A huge shoutout to Will Allred and Will Ballance for creating something that has disrupted and changed the world of "Cold Email". Emailing has never been so much fun.
I doubt if there's anything to dislike but I wish we had a version for mobile and LinkedIn messaging, maybe in the near future, who knows :)
As an individual contributor and prospecting every day of the year, email is an integral part of my outreach. Getting the chance to increase my reply rates, pique an interest using soft CTAs, cutting the fluff, and be able to book meetings, the benefit is endless!!
Email scoring is what I like (and use) the most, mainly within Outreach. This feature allowed me to reduce the time it took me to write emails by a ton. English is not my native speaking/writing language, so before using Lavender I would overthink every sentence in my emails. I was reviewing them multiple times before sending them, not knowing how they would land on the recipient. It's good to have an overall score on your email based on real email data and not based on my own instinct.
Business news take some time to load, however, nothing too significant that would block my process
Time it takes to write an email for a first-timer SDR
Lavender compiles research data for me. I no longer have to spend time researching prospects individually.
They're a small startup building fast, so some bumps are to be expected. For example, their Outreach integration can be cumbersome at times. It barely slows me down, though, and they make frequent improvements.
Almost eliminated research time. Email readability is improved. Time spent writing emails is down. I receive constant training from their user data. Read rates are up. Reply rates are up. Meetings booked are up.
The features are built to help: write effective emails and save you time. They do this through sentence reframing, subject feedback, content revision. I used as a standalone user and now for our company. I am able to power through emails more effectively with increased open and response rates.
There is not a "dislike" that I have. Most of the things I would want to see, they have expressed they will be rolling out in the upcoming quarters.
Ineffective emails, better open rates, better response rates. Standing out in inboxes from admin to C level.
The email scoring feature has been a game-changer for our SDRs. It has helped increase our response rates by identifying key areas of the email that can be improved.
Our reps love Lavender. Will and the team are consistently adding features before we even realize the need for the enhancement. Overall, very hard to complain or find dislikes.
Email response rates, time it takes for reps to write-offs, time it takes for reps to research and personalize emails. We seen a significant increase in response rates since implementing Lavender
It's intuitive. It gives me great feedback in real-time. It also suggests wording I never would have thought of that has led to a higher response rate on my cold emails!
I do wish there was a way to exclude a portion of it (like signature as someone else mentioned) to avoid a lower score, but otherwise, I really can't think of anything else.
Just getting higher response rates, not spending so much time crafting emails because it does a lot of the work for you.
Lavender is the first tool I've used/implemented that reinforces best practices for outbound emails. Most tools optimize for efficiency, which is dangerous without hands-on training.
Handful of normal bugs, but the team is super receptive to feedback and very responsive as issues pop up.
#1 Training junior, external AEs without B2B experience on how to send quality outbound emails #2 SDRs can take a "first stab" at a sequence and it's almost always serviceable
Lavender is THE best tool out there to clean up your word vomit. I find myself writing too much and confusing myself, let alone the reader. With Lavender's help, these turn into well-formatted sales emails that bring in results.
Lavender's scoring system makes me get uber-competitive with myself to make the best email possible. This can get me spending time trying to fix things that aren't broken.
Writing sales emails can be tricky. From templates to sequences to one-off replies, Lavender helps me put together the best copy to send out to prospects.
The idea of bringing Personality Insights into everyday Sales emailing is just groundbreaking!
I kinda like where they are headed so yeah not much that I dislike.
I get to know what to write to whom and how to go about it. The benefits are mind boggling.
Easy to use system that helps to identify easy to fix problems within an email. My favorite feature is the grade level, it helps me make sure I'm not being too technical to the point where others can't understand without industry knowledge. It's also great in that it sits on the side of your screen so regardless of if you're using Outreach, Salesforce, Hubspot, Linkedin, or Gmail, you're able to utilize Lavender to better your communication.
The outreach integration is tied to the Team plan which is great for those who are signing up with a team but makes me sad as an individual user. I wish I was able to move the widget around as it sometimes covers parts of the screen I want to be able to see.
Lavender makes my emails more concise and easier to comprehend for people who aren't in my industry. It does so by a grading system which means that I strive to improve each email.
My favorite part is the email scoring. 1. Seeing the score each time turns it into a game. What's the best score I can get in the least amount of writing time? 2. I know this score has my back and as I work through the coaching/suggestions - I'm learning how to write better emails.
None - if there's a bug/glitch, customer support is on it.
Lavender helps me hit quota. I have some of the highest email conversion rates and top-performing sequences on my team.
I started using Lavender while I was still searching for a job and found it SO helpful in making sure my emails to prospective employers were well-drafted before I hit send. The free trial for job seekers was such a wonderful tool to have, especially because I wasn't looking to add a new paid subscription while I was still less than employed. I was raving about the product already and planned to pay for it to continue doing outreach after I got my job and was thrilled to find my company, Sharebite, had already purchased the product for our sales team. In trainings on company-specific cold emails I have found myself saying out loud, "I know Lavender would ding points for this phrase," or "This is probably a 12th grade reading level we should tone it down," and the fact that this mindset has been so quickly adopted through Lavender's tips is invaluable to me. The mobile optimization view is one of the features I use the most. I rarely click send without taking a look first! If you're a visual learner, having that score on your emails update in real-time is such a great tool and being able to analyze individual portions that you've lost points on takes the guesswork out of what you could be doing better. I've 100% recommended Lavender both to job-seekers in my network as well as sales teams at different organizations and think it's a great tool to add into anyone's tech stack! All the Lavender employees are also just the BEST and happy to answer any questions via LinkedIn or email. I love engaging with their posts and feel like if I ever had any questions I wouldn't be burdening anyone by asking!
Functionality wise I wish there were a way to not take points away for commonly used phrases or add an exceptions list to exclude from the algorithm. My email signature drops my score! Being able to view the same data without having to manually delete and then re-add would be fantastic.
As I mentioned before, the actual analysis gives me peace of mind before I hit send and I love being able to take that and implement tactics that worked into more of my emails. I have to constantly remind myself not to use big 12th grader words in that initial email and I'm a sucker for the commonly used phrased like "I'd love to jump on a call" etc. so having those pointed out to me helps immensely in my own improvement.
Lavender is the easiest and most effective tool for writing better sales emails and getting more responses. Since implementing Lavender across our SDR team, our response rate went up 4x and our sequences are now bringing in 125% more meetings. The email grading tool is like a little personal email assistant available to all of our reps every time they compose a one-off email. The mobile preview and insights are also tools consistently utilized by our team.
There are no downsides to using a tool like Lavender. It encourages growth, better response rates, and more meetings for our SDR org.. ultimately resulting in more revenue. No downsides here!
Lavender helps our reps understand that their emails have to be relevant to the reader, concise, and clear. As I mentioned before, this tool has increased our SDR one-off email response rate by 4x and our sequences now bring in 125% more meetings than before Lavender.
Write better emails w Lavender; helped m
I can't really find anything I dislike about it.
Outbound sales motions. Have done $3m in sales in 11 months all through outbound, cold email w/ Lavender.
Lavendar is extremely helpful when having to create and test messaging for new sales teams. It is very valuable to have a tool that can analyze things in the messaging that we wouldn't be able to pick up on, outside of the content itself...i.e. grammar, tone, sentiment, writing level, readability, how the email looks on a phone, etc.
Been a user for 8 months and no dislikes yet!!!
Lavender is solving the business problem of having to get "another set of eyes" (or two) on emails for cold outreach, current customers, and even internal emails. As a growing startup, time is money and we can't afford to have every email that every employee writes, be edited and reviewed by a peer. Lavendar completely eliminates the need for that!
Where to start!? I love that it follows me around where ever I need it. The email verification is super handy, having clear instructions on how to improve my emails also is clutch. Seeing the mobile view is also super helpful.
That this tool isn't used by all sellers. Seriously, the sales profession would have less of a bad reputation of everyone used this tool.
My email open rates are higher, my responses are up. I am not wasting hours on writing emails anymore.
I like the fact that lavender is not just a tool that helps you to write killer sales emails. It also teaches you how to do it! Also, technical support was super great, solved my problem real quick.
Nothing I dislike. Seriously, every salesperson should try it.
I am contacting potential customers with killer emails. We have increased the demo booking rate and email response rate by at least %30 in a short period.
Easy to use, and the email coaching functionality. It does a great job at reviewing email quality and guides user on how to optimize for high reply rate.
Nothing to add here.. Liked it a lot - simple tool
Ensuring emails are written in a way that would have a higher probability of getting replies - especially for outbound cold emails. Easy way to ensure all sales reps apply best practices.. simple.
It cuts time, I simply launch the lavender extension, and it tells me where improvements can be made in my overall email. Hence I trim it accordingly, which has resulted in better responses.
Sometimes the score that lavender gives is not relevant also a lot of times i write simple email but then also it tells me to write it in simpler language that causes some trouble.
Helping write emails faster and pointing out better ways to write it or telling suggestions how you can better frame it to get a better open and reply rate to your emails.
I love the immediate feedback I get on all of my emails. It gives specifics of what to improve, suggestions on how to improve, and even shows what it will look like on mobile devices. It also integrates well with Salesforce, SalesLoft, and other tools.
Sometimes the long sentence suggestions are silly, and don't actually raise the score of an email. This seems really common with other AI tools as well.
Because of my vertical, I take far too much time customizing my emails. I have a tendency to get carried away. Lavender give me immediate feedback and reminds me to tap the breaks.
Lavender has been an essential tool that enables SDRs to write simple and concise emails!
No complaints with Lavender. Been a great tool for us!
Lavender gives great writing assistance to SDRs who are just beginning in their sales careers. It allows them to see in real time what the prospect will see and can help minimize email fluff!
Ease of use and impact. Ease of Use: The UI (in this case, G-Suite) is simple, intuitive and powerful. A seller can easily type an email from scratch and receive feedback on how to improve the likelihood of their email getting read; sellers can also see a mobile phone view,m which shows exactly how their email will appear on mobile devices and mobile preview. Also, there is a feature that leverages AI to write an email for you or take an email and reword it for you to make it stronger. All of this is fairly seemlessly integrated into the interface and is easy to understand, use, and leverage. Impact: By using the Lavender dashboard, an admin (for instance a sales leader) can track the impact of their team's emails - score, effectiveness, engagement, opportunities for improvement, etc. Viewing results as a whole team or drilling down to invidifual sellers is powerful for both assessment and coaching.
Even though the UI is intuitive and simple to use, it sometimes glitches - sometimes the icons are not easily clickable, disapear, or don't function some of the time (at least in G-Suite).
In this day and age when everyone is bombarded with emails from 1,000s of vendors, we are aiming to solve the problem of emails not being read or not reaching the inbox. Lavender is helping our team craft emails that are direct, to the point, and brief which has increased our open and response rates.
Gets you to think about keeping your contact short and concise and simple
sometimes it doesn't tell you enough about what you're doing or not doing right
getting more opens, getting more communication from cold/warm leads
The coaching itself is really awesome. Rare you find a product that teaches you while you use it. The product is excellent. The educational content and lessons the team posts on social are infinitely more valuable, though. Any team struggling to book meetings or get replies on email should really consider onboarding this tool across the board. It's a game changer when it comes to reply rates and starting meaningful conversations with prospects.
For a PLG product, it's priced too high. I understand charging businesses a premium for the analytics, but asking an SDR to pay that much per month these days is pretty hard. At a time when people are debating whether or not they can afford groceries or rent, a tool that supposedly helps them hit their number and make more money is just out of reach for some folks who could really benefit. $11-15 a month would make more sense for a lot of your target audience and probably reduce the barrier to entry. Additionally, sometimes the tool is a waste of time. I could spend 20 minutes writing one email. It encourages tinkering. After about 9 months of using it, I could see the ability to get rid of it altogether since I understood the core concepts of the writing.
Helping me write better emails. Helping mre shorten the emails we already have written. Helping me create my own sequences that get positive replies from my prospects.
Lavender does a pretty good job of cramming a lot of functionality into a small chrome extension. It's very helpful to get feedback (based on best practices) on your emails in real time. The personalization assistant is also great for quickly personalizing prospect emails. Being able to use Lavender in your SEP (Outreach or Salesloft) is also very nice to have.
I had a billing issue, contacted support and still haven't heard back in almost a week. They need to work out some kinks in their AI, as some of the feedback is off-base.
Lavender makes it easy to write better emails that follow current best practices. It's also much faster to personalize emails using their personalization assistant.
