LiquidPlanner helps track time on various projects

The interface is confusing for new users jumping into projects that have been develeped already.

Tracking time is easier.

LiquidPlanner is infinitely configurable to track projects, task types, and clients. Effort tracking is useful to roll up summaries of how much effort a project required to complete.

The high degree of configurability can overwhelm small teams or groups of users who don't have a (semi-)dedicated admin. Feels rooted in a waterfall methodology; projects can be organized in an agile method, but the way LiquidPlanner approaches agile feels like an afterthought.

We have projects that are handed off from one person to another on the road from initiation to completion. LiquidPlanner allows us to define a template for repetitive work and then use that template as a frame for every new project. Once that project is defined, LiquidPlanner makes it easy to see what employees are assigned to the project, view milestones, pause or reorganize project order, etc.

The hour tracking is really nice, and is an integral feature. You can customize your home screen which is nice. I like to organize mine by deadline, and it's also nice because you can see who's working on what. A

I dont love the antiquated interface. It's not like asana, there aren't any fun Easter eggs, or simple ways to add in your proofing.

It helps us track how much time is spent on each project which is super helpful. We're able to give our clients a pretty accurate idea of how long something is going to take.

I like the ability to estimate and link stories to see a timeline of when it should be completed.

I use Agile with sprints for development, and there's no automated sprint planning process.

We use it to track expected work. It's a good way to plan out and estimate what work needs to be done.

Rich tracking and resource management. Unique dynamic features. Drag-and-drop simplicity. Responsive site.

The product is expensive and there is a big of a steep learning curve.

LiquidPlanner’s knowledge base is easily the best example of a searchable support database I have seen. It is vast, thorough, and the search function works beautifully. I wish other companies had such a well-functioning system: it makes my job easier!

Activity feed where I can tag stakeholders and discuss the project

Moving projects from folder to folder is clunky.

The only thing I like is being able to see recent uploads from other users.

There's no good way to see by client a rollup of time spent and no way to differentiate between billable and non-billable on total hours.

It meets some basic needs as it is ok for logging time and planning your next week.

The templates were repeatable so you didn't have to think about it

Good integration. Very flexible. The on-page timer is clutch.

Requires too much human process adherence

We were able to use task checklists to help facilitate the documentation for a client's FDA labeling requirements. They liked that. The dashboard customization is pretty good if everybody is correctly coding their tasks and paying attention to their dashboards.

this is not designed to follow any proven methodologies.

Software Development Cycle. so far, i haven't seen any benefits

1. The timing feature is helpful for adding to your timesheet. 2. You can upload relevant documents to a task and all members of the task or project can view them. 3. The filtering and search functionality from the project view is decent.

1. The UI isn't intuitive. 2. The timesheet layout is the most useful, but if you remove the time from a task (i.e., to move to another day), the task disappears and you have to find it again on the main projects page. 3. The projects page layout is confusing; some of this is attributable to user error, but it gives a lot of unnecessary information that clutters the view. 4. The card view is not particularly useful. 5. If you're in a task, the documents you need may be held in a parent item and you don't have access to them unless you navigate away from the task. None of these are major issues, of course, and as a product, it's fine. However, I think there are other systems that do a much better job at organizing the information and are more intuitive. All things being equal, I would choose a different product.

The company managers use the timesheets to bill clients. They occasionally use this data to predict the time needed to complete future tasks.

Ability to add many tasks at once. Checklists. Linking Dropbox files. Reporting. Quick overview of the week.

- links are not auto-linked - editing comments breaks lines - too slow - going back in time is difficult (what changes did we make to the product in May 2013?) - replies from emails include signature images - no ability to create recurring tasks or tasks that have a fixed time (ex. meeting with a client) - having to select a project, then going back to select a projet folder - breadcrumbs (project folder and priority) are not clickable. The arrow buttom isn't as flexible. - the team I supervise write down their times on paper and transfer the hours to LP at the end of the day. One uses Google calendar to keep track of his time. - Notes and Brief are hidden. We asks the team to write a checklist "see note" when there's one. - Mobile app needs to be simplified and do a much better job.

We are a web developpement agency working with hundreds of clients. We use LP for production planning and communication. Reports are useful.

Fulfills my needs as a software developer, has concise functionality without being bloated. The card view and multiple owners is a great addition.

Changes to your policy that require that you have at least 10 users means that I can no longer refer your product to other people. Historically, I've brought 4 different companies on board with your product, but since they want to start out with a small user base and expand as they use it, they are unwilling to get off the ground with the product. Can't you be a little more creative about how you handle product attrition? Otherwise, my largest complaint is the requirement to refresh all of the time. Many modern applications update in real time using signalR or angular.js, liquidplanner is starting to feel a little dated.
