"Good if you are patient."
What do you like best about Namecheap?

Good customer service and fast response. With a reasonable price for the service they provide. They also offer good promotions from time to time.

What do you dislike about Namecheap?

The web UI fails time to time. You've got to do a refresh sometime to get things done. If you are in hurry, it'll make you crazy.

What problems is Namecheap solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are using Namecheap for registering our domain names.

"Not Always the cheapest"
What do you like best about Namecheap?

*sometimes* They are actually cheaper than say, Go Daddy. But pretty much no. I can almost always save with Go daddy.

What do you dislike about Namecheap?

They do not live up to their name 75% of the time

What problems is Namecheap solving and how is that benefiting you?

There isnt any real benefit for me, usually if I get stuck using name cheap its because my client has already purchased their domain and its a MAJOR pain to move a domain once its registered and purchased elsewhere.

"Confusion when you speak to representatives"
What do you like best about Namecheap?

The user interface is nice, and getting on a line with support doesn't take horribly long.

What do you dislike about Namecheap?

Even when speaking with support, sometimes they don't translate what you want to action.

What problems is Namecheap solving and how is that benefiting you?

Domain hosting! Their interface is intuitive, moreso than other hosts.

"A true smart way to scam you!!"
What do you like best about Namecheap?

Cheaper than other providers, for ppl on a budget.

What do you dislike about Namecheap?

For anyone here who is not an IT or experienced be aware! I purchased a domain and at the moment of purchase, Namecheap added some free "services" as a "bonus" (more like a tricky way to upsell inexperienced ppl). I never used these services and even forgot they were there! After a month I saw that I was charged 9.99$ + 18.99$ for these two services!! Long story short, I asked them to cancel the charge and they refused! An honest company would at least send a single reminder saying "Hey we saw you were not using your X, Y...." But it's better to keep it hidden as your money is more important than you!

What problems is Namecheap solving and how is that benefiting you?

Providing domain

"Namecheap scammed me."
What do you like best about Namecheap?

I had a domain there for 1 year, and everything was ok, but as soon as I paid for the renewal, they sent me a letter that they no longer provide me with a service, because I was born in Russia.

What do you dislike about Namecheap?

I tried to contact their support and confirmed that I can transfer my domain to another service provider, however, I was told to wait 45 days and could not get a refund.

What problems is Namecheap solving and how is that benefiting you?

They provided a domain registration service for my product, but then refused to provide it and also refused to issue a refund. The support is very slow and does not answer the questions asked directly.

"Exorbitant redemption fees 2100% and arbitrary rules."
What do you like best about Namecheap?

In General the support is good, are solve the technical problems.

What do you dislike about Namecheap?

The redemption fee is exorbitant 21 times the normal year fee, and they will terminate your domain before the expire day if you dont renew 30 days before expire. That situation can happend by many reasons: change of administration mail, mail in spam, autorenew fail due to expired card, etc. A risk that need to be considered before purchase a domain. The redemption fee is not written, and will change any time.

What problems is Namecheap solving and how is that benefiting you?

is not expensive.

"Not recommended. Take your business somewhere else."
What do you like best about Namecheap?

Cheap. Has a website with basic functionality.

What do you dislike about Namecheap?

Their faulty AI security system routinely flags many people's accounts as fraud. When this happens, they require you to provide your SSN, a picture of your credit card, and then your bank account statement. If you want to give away your private information, this is the domain host for you. I had to cancel my domain and now at risk of losing it when it gets released back to the public. Also, they have a very spaghetti-like Customer Service department. Person A cannot help with the ticket opened by Person B. Person B doesn't have enough knowledge or permission to help you and therefore refer you to person C. Person C is in the wrong department to they reroute your ticket to Department D. Your ticket sits in the queue for days without any owner assigned until you contact them again so you can flag your ticket as High priority. Overall, the price is cheap but not as competitive anymore. There're other better domain and web hosting companies out there.

What problems is Namecheap solving and how is that benefiting you?

There has been very little benefits besides the cheap price. They give me a domain, but then falsely lock my account despite all my attempts to give them SSN and credit card pictures.

"No warning, scam"
What do you like best about Namecheap?

Nothing. They're a bad company to deal with.

What do you dislike about Namecheap?

They never warned me that my domain was expiring. I went in 4 days before expiration and they won't let me renew it. They said it's going to be over $200 - and it's not even expired yet. I've been a customer for many years now. This is the way they treat their customers.

What problems is Namecheap solving and how is that benefiting you?

Nothing. I'm moving away from them.

"Bait and Switch - Be Careful Before Committing"
What do you like best about Namecheap?

They seem to do pretty well hitting their 100% uptime SLA.

What do you dislike about Namecheap?

Its a full bait and switch with your plans after year 1. They are worse than the cable companies. Prices go up 4x after the first year for hosting and 2x for domain registration - all for no additional value. With no additional value, it is simply a money grab. The kicker is the inconvenience to switch, which is why I would recommend not even using them in the first place.

What problems is Namecheap solving and how is that benefiting you?

Domain registration and website hosting

"Confusing user experience flow. "
What do you like best about Namecheap?

I liked the customer support line that was available when I got lost as to how to set up my site.

What do you dislike about Namecheap?

I disliked the confusing design of the site, as in the various options were ill explained and hard to find.

What problems is Namecheap solving and how is that benefiting you?

I was launching a splash page for a home construction business in the Kingsway.
