The costs and the web dashboard experience in general. For smaller start-ups, the user experience and the complexity might be too high. For larger teams, it's okay.

That you dont have to work with so much paper. Its easy to log work time and holidays, document, etc. All in All a super programm with a great support team!
The Phone/Tablett App needs much more work, so its easier for none power users to get comfy with personio. Web App is nearly to great.

The level of customizations is very top-level, compared to similar platforms. Same with the amount of integrations. They have a lot covered here.
The setup has been a very cumbersome process, and the overall UI look and feel is not the sexiest.
Customer service is touch and go. Sometimes very effective, but it takes several nudges to get it started.
I really like that the Payroll is connected to the salary scheme.
Some features are not adjusted fully developed yet.

I'm solving our ATS problem. We were using a lot of Excel, different mailboxes. With Personio anyone who is involved can give feedback.
I like the fact that it is an integrated system, that includes everything about our colleagues from start to end of their employee journey.
The system can be perceived as quite complicated, as it contains just about everything. However, I do often hear that it is easy to use, despite the many options and buttons.
Signing documents and work contracts within the system of Personio is great. Saves us a lot of e-mails and/or paperwork. Our colleagues can easily access and administer their own personal data; their holidays; their documents, etc. Timelines are no longer something to worry about, as automated reminders will tell us when to schedule which appointment with any colleague, about their extension for example.
It is easy to use, especially if you have admin rights. The support is helpful and eager to assist you. The interface is nice and easy to handle. They offer quite a few features and keep on improving.
Personio has an inconsistency in terms of editing and deleting information - e.g. in the information section vs the attendance section vs the settings. Furthermore, they seem to be working long time to fix certain bugs.

Personio provides a wide range of all basic tools you need in order to manage your people. You can customize a lot or just use the standard features. It's very flexible and you're able to implement all your processes.
You have to be very clear about your processes in order to choose the right configuration and tools (add-ons). Some features are still underdeveloped due to the young age of Personio but they constantly improve the tool. You just have to be aware of these things and sometimes work around it.
We use Personio for almost al our people processes like administration, payroll, recruiting, on- and off-boarding, vacation tracking etc. The biggest benefit for us was to have all these data and workflows in one place which made it much easier to handle and structure the data and collaborate with internal and external people.
The combination of all HR parts in one software makes everything much easier. It dosen't matter which information i need, just one look at personio. The software is intuitive and easy to handle, you can create a lot functions by yourselfe so it fits to you needs.
It is a lot of work to fill in all the informations aspecially when your company work in paperwork für more than 20 years.
I made a huge step in digitalization with personio. My office is not really focused on processoptimazation oder digitalization but now i showed them the benefits. Less Work, more HR Self Service for employees, all information at one stop. Things like holiday planning and information about absence are now centralized and easy to communicate to the right persons
Working with Jennifer Stöckl on the the setup was a great experience. She is knowledgeable, worked with us to find solutions for everything we needed, and extremely pleasant.
In our initial discussions, we were told that the performance review function would fit with our needs, but when it came to the time when we were rolling this out, it turns out the functionality is not ready yet and we are not able to use Personio for our year end cycle. This is very disappointing as it was one of our most important features and one of the reasons we had decided to go with Personio in the first place.
Having all employee data in one place had made a huge difference and streamlined many of our processes. The onboarding function has also made life much easier.

I like most that you can store any kind of information with this tool. There is no limit of attributes tha can be added. For german customers its essential to be able to track time offs and if sick notes have already been handed in easily. Personio has a very simple way in handling sick leaves. This reduces time & effort for tracking a lot.
When it comes to reports the tool is still in a beta version. Reports are not completeley handy and some data cannot be extracted easily. Changes that have been made by mistake are still found in the history entries and you cannot delete them or show only the correct entries which might be confusing.
Having a one tool solution : recruiting tool, personnel information tool, time off management, support in onboarding & offboarding processes, online signatures (even if this function could be a bit more comprehensive)
- very easy to use (intuitive) - employees can switch to different languages (for us most important in English and German) - different entities can be displayed - they are always working on changes to improve - can be customized - recruiting, payroll, employee data all gathered in one tool - they have a great support and are always there to help - time tracking and approval roles are available
- some changes or new features should be communicated better - the reporting still needs improvement - some employee data can't be exported properly (e.g. salary data) - feedback/performance feature not really usable - the org chart is not very good to use, especially when the organizated is rather compley - Personio can't really be used if the company is based in the US (or has an entity in the US)
-the whole HR team can work in one tool - processes can be optimized (e.g. onboarding, offboarding) - employee data are kept in one place as "source of truth" - it's great to support and idea that is growing with the input providing by their customers
