Slack Reviews: 4.5/5 — Highly Rated
Slack is the top choice for teams to communicate. It provides a virtual workspace that helps teams maintain open communication in a business environment. With Slack, users can host voice and video calls with up to 15 participants and even screen share with a desktop app, empowering better user interaction. Slack also supports options for private and group sessions, and one of its best features is Slack Huddles–an informal meeting space that lets you directly talk to your channel where you can share screen side by side with your team. The platform integrates well with Dropbox, Google Drive, and Trello as well.

Having transitioned our entire team to Slack, it's evident how essential this platform has become for our daily operations. With channels, we can now maintain structured conversations for various projects, and it has genuinely bridged the communication gap between departments. As a growing tech firm, Bluewave Technologies is always on the hunt for tools that streamline our work, and Slack has proven its worth. A notable feature we appreciate is the integration capability; being able to connect our other work tools to Slack is an undeniable game-changer.
While Slack offers a user-friendly interface, there are limited opportunities for in-depth customization. For instance, the ability to further customize the layout, theme, or notification styles beyond the provided options could greatly enhance the user experience, especially for companies with unique branding or specific workflow requirements.
1. Disorganized Communication: Traditional communication methods like email can become cluttered and hard to navigate, making it challenging to find information and converse efficiently. 2. Fragmented Tools and Apps: With multiple apps and tools being used in a business environment, it's easy to lose time and focus when constantly switching between them. 3. Challenges of Remote and Flexible Work: The modern workforce is increasingly mobile and distributed, necessitating tools that support effective remote collaboration.
Super easy to communicate with people both if you are working in office or remotely. It is super user friendly and I love that you can chat with one or multiple people in your organization super easily along with hopping into a huddle when it's easier to talk out your questions or explaning what you are working on.
I wish you could remove users when doing a group chat like you can remove people from channels. It is a little inconveinenet with projects where you have multiple people and one gets moved and you have to create a new chat versus just removing that one person.
As a remote worker, it's super helpful for me to be able to instantly communicate with my coworkers that are located all over the country. It's made it streamline and I really like the product.
I don't have to use my phone anymore, and it saves my battery. it's super easy to communicate and organize various channels for specific projects, easy to find my company and connect with my team, huddles help in platform quick call clarifications, I constantly use to screenshare while editing, and quickly review to ensure we are in aligment and in the right direction.
sometimes the huddle quality can be glitchy and i notice its not happening on other video calls but also when using video calls the call can slow down my other programs and computer while simultaniously editing. thankfully hasnt happened lately but was a frustrating issue when it did.
communication acroess the entire team, or specific event / project channels, huddles make it easy to communicate via voice calls to quickly clarify any questions, it also helps share progress with screensharing to help clear direction, show someone how to do something, and especially collaborate with team memebers in various timezones and states.
It integrates very well with other platforms and the notifications are very helpful foo. The tagging, the @here option is very practical to make sure that everyone sees a message on a channel. My Favorite part are the customized emojis and reactions.
I get included in a lot of channels that are not relevant to my work, my left nav bar gets really crowded. Sometimes my time zone is not the correct one and I can't fix it.
The company has employees from different parts of the world, so it really eases communication. Also, it's easier for immediate conversations that are more complex to address in an Email.
We can manage to have multiple project and have all the information ready for all
The paid version for small groups get outside of our budget
Communication between all developers and a business chat solution
I like that Slack allows you to easily connect and explore within your work community. It is super easy to tag teammates, reach out to co-workers and create channels for specific topics. It makes networking easy and approachable. Very user-friendly and colorful.
I sometimes wouldn´t get all my notifications. I would only know I had gotten some messages once I opened the app or the website. Also huddle sound wouldn't always work as expected (poor quality). Aside from that, I think Slack is the best social network for remote work.
It´s like WhatsApp but for your workspace, which is awesome cause it feels professional but at the same time it is personal, customizable and user-friendly. I love you can react with fun emojis and make your workplace feel fun, fresh and young.
Every day I see something that slack can do which other communication platforms can’t. They can do it all, and everything works.
I love everything about slack. It's a no fuss, easy to use communication tool which I spend 12+ hours a day on.
Be connected with everyone in my company throughpout the world. It enables me to perform my job twice as quick compared to using emails
Can incorporate group think and group share, easy to use and communicate, similar to texting.
Sometimes feels remote without a lot of personalized interaction
It feels like a forum where you can exchange thoughts, ask questions, and you feel like there is a broader range of exchange
Ease of use, it does bring your team together by not being just a chat module, but you can have games, and news, integrate your CRM, inbound lead flow, polls, and whatnot!
Somehow their notification tone gives me anxiety. Also, the product is seamless but it does seem to take a lot of ram while using. But overall a great product.
My team can stay organized and productive. For example, users can create different channels for different topics or projects, and they can easily search for specific messages or files. Slack also integrates with many other tools and services, such as Hubspot, Stripe, etc. allowing users to centralize their work in one place.
My team communicates primarily via Slack. I love the range of emoticons and the ease of use.
The hard of hearing flashing screen could be better integrated. It hasn't worked yet.
Allows team members to communicate in realtime and avoid email box clutter.
It is a quick communication tool due to its simplicity, very dynamic with its objectives, easy to integrate with your schedules and to integrate with other platforms.
Sometimes there is a problem with the application and you end up having to use it within the browser, which makes it more difficult, but this is the only negative point.
Slack is helping to solve the slower communication at the home office, due to the dynamics of the app, it ends up solving this difficulty of working from home, making everything faster.

It's transformed my workflow, allowing me to swiftly tackle projects while staying connected to my team, no longer lost in a labyrinth of disjointed messages and emails.
Slack Connect helps ensure that we can quickly communicate as a hybrid team for strong collaboration and engagement outside of our org. With the large amount of channels that we have love the ability to hide quickly channels with zero messaging. Compared to other IMs the breadth of integrations is amazing.
While tags and sections are great to use and flag urgency at times it would be good to be able to discerne between urgent and non urgent requests. This would be helpful on channels with large groups
Improved collaboration with real time engagement. A large challenged it addressed was the lack of transperancy/visibility as emails did not always engage all participants and the onus on the sender to copy or add users. With users in set channels it reduces risk of missing participants.
You can have different open and private channels to keep all the info organise. You can also add folders to keep always the documents with you.
To make a call it is quite difficult with handle. Can not be a regular call? With the options to change a video call and share screen.
Communicate with my colleagues and get access to previous info via the #
It's so easy to communicate and collaborate with my team, whether you are at your computer or out-of-pocket.
I'm not a huge fan of the login methods of having to open it in a browser. It would be great if logging into an instance was allowed on the platform itself.
It really opened communication lines with in-office and remote workers. My team can stay to up to date with all communication & news, and it's limited the amount of emails received and the wait time that goes along with that.
Slack allows communication between our team. I love that it is seamless and keeps everyone connected. The real time messaging and the file sharing is amazing. It has helped our team and boosted our productivity since it allows for us to colloborate. It also helps us to be more organized.
Sometimes the multitude of notification can be overwhelming. it woul dbe great to have more control over the message sorting.overlal though it is great and has helped our team in communication.
Slack involced the problem of scatter communication and helps organize discussions making it easier to keep track and share ideas, conversions, thoughts, files and can collaborate easily.
As a software engineer utilizing Slack, the platform's greatest appeal lies in its seamless collaboration features. The huddle, code snippet sending, reply in thread feature, colorful texts and sticker, good status update option make it better than any other platform. It is smooth very to use.
The notification system in Slack should be better. The screen-sharing option is not up to the mark. When the internet is going disconnected mode the online status should adjust accordingly.
Slack addresses the challenge of efficient team communication and collaboration by providing a centralized platform for instant messaging, file sharing, and integrations with other productivity tools. The huddle, code snippet sending, reply in thread feature, colorful texts and stickers, and good status update option make it better than any other platform. It is smooth in use.
Quick and easy to contact people in your team and across the company either by messaging directly or by posting in a channel. Also really great to segment topics and teams by having various channels. It's great that it can be integrated with so many systems.
No read receipts can be hard to know if your message has been seen, would be useful to have these as something you can choose to turn off or keep on. Direct messages can also get lost as they disappear from my view sometimes if I haven't spoken to a person in a while I sometimes forget. Would also be good to read a message and then put it back to unread incase I read something and don't have time to reply straight away.
Being able to contact your colleagues from your team and company-wide, without having to rely on emails or phone calls. Makes life easier for everyone, and easier to keep track of messaging.
It is an easy tool, easy to understand, clean in the UI
Maybe, when you are starting, it can be a little bit hard the introduction... Maybe a video can make it easier
Profesional communication and coworking
I am amazed with how interactive and well outlined the User-Interface is. Slack is also flexible and allows for a seamless and smooth navgation. Incase of difficulty during deployment, Slack has a great and responsive team who deal with the issue in uttermost expertise.
To be frank, I have nothing ill to speak about Slack, it has been efficient and reliable for the time I have interacted with it.
Slack has been helping me in communication and collaboration processes, chatting, scheduling and participanting in virtual video meetings has been thorough and great.
Convenient work with the team quick notifications and responses
I don't have any bad comments on using this app, everything suits me
I haven't seen any problems using the app
I love that you can choose between direct messaging OR creating a specific channel (or 6) in order to keep your departments in touch and organized. I also love that Slack connects to Canva, Google Cal, etc.
The only feature I dislike is that I can't see all of my direct messages on the left hand side from days or weeks prior. It filters them out after so many days.
Slack is allowing me to stay in constant contact with my upline which is actually reducing the amount of meetings we've had to have as we can chat throughout the work days.
With Slack, it is way too easy to send DMs instantly over the internet. It integrates with external web conferencing services like Zoom which makes it easy to conduct online meetings.
For the past 13+ Yos, I have been with Slack and it rarely pose any flaw.

the communication in the company
Ever since I incorporated Slack, it has ever been straightforward and rapid to send direct messages which eradicate human movement and email chats in my organization.
In deed it should be glorified for adding video conferencing which eradicated the hussle for integrations.
Over the internet, I am able to send and receive direct messages on the go via mobile application.
Slack is an easy way to instantly communicate with friends and colleagues. It allows easy transfer of files and so much more.
The fre plan limits what you can see for 90 days now which can be challenging for a smaller business.
Slack allows me to rapidly communicate with colleagues rather than email which can be slower and more distracting.
Slack has completely transformed the way our team collaborates, making communication effortless and efficient. From the moment we integrated Slack into our workflow, we've experienced a significant boost in productivity and a notable decrease in communication barriers.
Can become overwhelming with excessive notifications if not managed properly (easily adjustable through notification settings)
