We like timedoctors core feature set - payroll, time tracking and monitoring features (screenshots)
Time Doctors team has been steadily pushing us to move to TD2 - after spedning hours transtioning a sizable team we have found more and more issues with the platform with regards to core missing featurews that are avialble in the original version. This has cost our company consderably, and the Time Doctor support simply advise us that they will put it on a feature request list for businesses to vote on if they add the feature. The fact is, without these features those businesses cant use your software (we've now had to moev payroll out of timedoctor as were not really wanting to move back to the old version after spending all this time). So of course nobody will vote on a feature where having it missing would prevent them from using your sofware in the first place, they would simply use your competitors.
Time montioring for emplyoees wellbeing and ensuring they are working adequate hours.
Nothing. I absolutely hated when I was using Time Doctor.
It was like Big Brother, a slave driver, and a spy all wrapped up in one.
My boss wanted to milk blood from a turnip. He installed it to ensure I was glued to the computer after I'd given 60+ hour workweeks to his start-up company. It was very demoralizing.
I like what it promises to deliver in regards to reporting.
When I signed up I saw a lot of potential with all of the reports it came with but after using it we always had bugs. Screenshots were not always accurate, customer service took a long time to get a hold of, and reports were always working so I decided to pull the plug on it. After removing a user I decided to cancel my subscription and left it at that. I am finding out 8 months later I was being charged monthly for the service. I didn't think it was a big deal and reached out to customer service to rectify this and reported back they could only give me a 1 month refund because I am not able to provide any cancellation email I received. I logged into my account and canceled the subscription again and I have yet to receive any notice of cancellation in my email.
To this day I have still not been able to resolve issues with time doctor
The app is pretty easy to use.. You load tasks and start them by clicking on PLAY. It has lots of features including webcam shots, screenshots, time tracker and pop up that asks whether you've been working when there's no activity on the user's side. They have a computer and mobile app. Really good feature is that as a company you can set it up to blur screenshots taken so no information is leaked.
It does not help employees to be productive. The sign that pops up when there's no mouse or keyboard activity shows even when you're watching a video, on a webinar or even making a presentation in which is mostly talking and it is not only super unprofessional but also, if you fail to click on the "Yes (I am working)" the time worked will turn orange and labeled as "Manually added time".
I don't think it helps solve any problems for employees. Employers might think they are improving productivity by making employees use this but it is absolutely the other way around, in my opinion.
Nothing. The customer service is the worst!
I hate their customer service. No response. No Help. Numerous emails and messages to their chat support and no feedback.
I was hoping to solve employee timining and monitoring but their app was mediocre. I ended up using WorkPuls instead.
Did what it was supposed to do, and that's about it.
It is impossible to cancel your subscription. I have contacted support and used various of their email addresses. Absolutely no one answers you or assists you in any way, shape, or form. - Only thing it does is create a terrible atmosphere within your team.
None
I initially got fairly quick response time to questions.
There seemed to be discrepancies that were not very well explained. There was also an incident where my time did not record and there was a problem on their end and I could not recover the information. I had to rebuild my time line of work to justify my pay and still lost some earnings because of that. Staff was not helpful at all at that point and we discontinued business with them.
We were using it to login admin time for our pet sitting/dog walking business. It was useful in tracking time, however we soon found discrepancies.
My camera shots are not working so I am only being evaluated on my screenshots.
I am a few versions behind because any time I update I get repeated crashes. This software is NOT Mac friendly. I haven’t had camera shots in over a year. I answer emails all. Day. Long. Yet when I check my keyboard strokes I will have 8-12 only.
For my department, none that I can see.
Having to email their support to cancel my account...I'm joking that was just the last annoying thing I was forced to do with this company. Nothing...I like absolutely nothing about it.
Absolutely terrible piece of software. I cannot for the life of me understand why this software has such high ratings. We used it for about six months and had nothing but problems with it. Some of the issues were: 1. Time not syncing between mobile, desktop, and web clients. 2. Time not accurately being tracked. 3. Unable to archive old project-tasks or projects. 4. Tasks and projects not syncing between mobile, desktop, and web clients. 5. Time is missing. In other words, time would be tracked and then disappear. 6. Employees who worked on sensitive areas like finance had their accounts set to blur screenshots. This never worked. They were completely in the clear which could have been a huge problem if our clients ever found out. This has been a disaster from start to finish. We've had to manually fix tracked-time, re-bill customers, refund customers, and start all over again with an much better alternative called HubStaff--whom I highly recommend. The biggest problem with Time Doctor is that we were working with their "support team" for over a month and supposedly they were working on fixing our problems...This turned out to be a lie. Nothing ever got fixed. The support team would never proactively give us any information regarding what they were working on and we always had to reach out to them for an update; the updates contained no actual progress information of any kind...So in other words: we were being blown off. We are in software development ourselves and this whole platform reeks of something that was built by cheap, overseas, outsourced development teams, OR it was something that has been rushed to market. You need to avoid Time Doctor and Staff.com like the plague. The two companies are linked and perhaps merging because recently Staff.com had a message on their website that said something to the effect of "A TimeDoctor Company." They also have identical logos. Final thoughts: if you use Time Doctor to track work for your clients you are going to be in a world of hurt. You will overcharge and undercharge clients and when they figure it out (like ours did) they will be pissed.
Time tracking for the purpose of billing customers.
Screenshots are helpful, easy to switch between tasks to track
Their software suddenly stops tracking time and you won't notice unless you actually review EACH entry EVERY SINGLE DAY. It's a pain! They promised a fixed several times but still haven't really fixed aything
As a business, it's great to know how your employees are tracking time. As an employee, using this software is beyond frustrating since at the back of your head, you never know if they tracked your work hours logged right.
I am not happy at all and have asked for them to close the account.
Ignorant person working there. I would not treat customer like that. If you don't trust customers then don't have your business.
Obtuse answers and a lack of trust given to the customer.
I like their tracking system - screenshots and reports
This software is not good for invoicing clients
Adding multiple employees
