Compare Todoist with other popular tools in the same category.
Todoist is very feature rich and allows you to set up your work flow however you want. You have access to tags, priorities, different lists, due dates, assigned tasks, and more! You can create any number of subtasks as well.
Hard to do everything. If you like things like asana, this does not allow a view like that. Technically using projects, you can create something similar. But I feel I get more features for a better price here, than trello or other competitors.
I need a braindump, but one I can easily hide or postpone tasks. So I can create a list and only view it once a month, that helps me to keep only the actual important tasks on my list. Plus I never forget anything with their easy to use reminders and calendar sync.
I can organize tasks into projects. Easy to add new tasks.
Nothing really, I don't utilize all of the features so I don't need some sections on the left panel - it would be nice to be able to hide them.
Organizing my work projects.
Easy to use, to start implement and creating to-do lists like projects
More integration with other apps and a calendar just for todoist with slots
Be notified with the overdue tasks, also be on time delivering my tasks, never forget nothing
Using Todoist we can simplify projects and coordinate tons of details. One can track all office task using todoist. It's very user friendly application.
I don't see any dislike, it's great application to manage business and plan your tasks or projects.
I have tracked everything of my teams to do list using it. And it provided space and structure to discuss the best way to complete those tasks.
The simplicity and features make ToDoist a great product. very straightforward to use and easy to group tasks, create lists and subtasks, attach files and schedule activities. With different projects (colour coded), it's easy to arrange your lists by project, by day, or by importance. It's a great app and works well across phone, tablet and desktop. It very quickly synchronises across devices.
There are a couple of features missing - I think I'd like to be able to move things around easier - maybe a visual, multi day view would be helpful?
It's keeping me organised and making sure nothing gets forgotten.
I love the ability to prioritize and date my tasks. When a task comes in (next steps after a call with a client, during/after a meeting or 1:1), I immediately can create it, prioritize it, and assign it to myself on a day when it makes the most sense. Because I can see how many tasks I assign myself on a given day, I can spread out my workload so that I get things done without overwhelming myself.
Sometimes I have follow up tasks - I want to complete the first task I created and automatically create a follow-up task for days later.
I am trying to remember everything I have committed to do so I can be a reliable employee and customer advocate. I have noticed my ability to deliver to my clients improve and my personal satisfaction at work increase because my productivity is good. I don't worry about work after work because I know all of my tasks are organized in Todoist, so they don't have to take up room in my head.
ability to collaborate with others on tasks and create multiple projects
can't write a lot of stuff as sub-tasks or comments. doesn't let you create any dependencies on tasks and show progress. I wouldn't recommend it for use in a business setting.
general purpose to-do tasks, great for managing grocery lists, home projects, etc. I like how I can check off items and it is synced in real-time
It is very simple, cross-platform app that is helpful for all the daily tasks that need to be done. With its interesting features, I have it open twice every day because it's easy to navigate the most important things I need to accomplish, which includes spreadsheet, physical planner, etc. I don't see any other comparable todo app and indeed its notifications are very helpful. Great Interface I must confess because I noticed they all go into your one list. I honestly don't know how everyone out there survives their day to day life without this tool!
Well, Todoist is quite expensive and somehow meant for kind of a particular set of working-class, but I suggest it is still good enough for an average individual who just wants to sort out basic tasks as the free version has limited functionality without useful features like location-based reminders which are available in the paid version only.
Todoist allows me integrates well with Microsoft Outlook and then I can share various tasks across all platforms. It's not only great at keeping track of my personal tasks, but also organising collaborative projects as well. It is very easy to write a complete task with its different traits with its suitable interface!
Clean and fast interface available everywhere means I track anything instantly. I can paste complex text and upload attachments on desktop or I can just hit the widget on my Android home page to add a task. Even has time stamped entries per task, and sub-tasks but without losing the simplicity of the task-oriented view. There are some task managers that get lost in "project management" features but Todoist keeps it real.
I have some minor niggles that amount to feature requests really, such taking more advantage of the data entered to generate work completed reports, and better data export. For daily use there's nothing that jumps out at me to change.
Todoist minimises the burden of managing multiple big task lists so that you're on top of what you need to do now, and what's coming up later. Never forget anything ever again, and always feel in control so you know when you can afford to be spontaneous or when you've got work that needs to be done. It's an irreplaceable efficiency tool for home and work.
The quick add shortcuts! The prioritization flags! Everything!
That it wasn’t invented when I was in college hahaha. Needed this my whole life.
I run my business project management, to do lists, team delegation, everything - then a personal project too for everything from grocery lists, to life goals. It’s been like therapy, to release all the extra from my brain in this way that sorts by tags etc.
