Easy to use platform for someone who may be new to Wordpress hosting and wonderful customer service!
Nothing so far! I can see how some of the menu options can be confusing to a newbie, but an experienced developer would find this platform easy to use
Our clients are able to self host their website now so they don't have to rely on a web developer
It's very easy to use, and you have all you need on click, like WordPress installation, SSL, CDN, manual backup, serverside caching, 30 daily backups... And most importantly it is very stable hosting
You cannot host a website that was not created on the WordPress platform. Also, I had a problem with cookies (if I can remember it's blocked by default), but support solved that problem.
WP Engine support was revert deleted staging environment after 2 weeks when I deleted it by mistake. That staging was contained big changes with over 30 working hours.
The ease of use for backups and restores!
The panel can be a little overwhelming if you are not in there daily.
We have several servers and host hundreds of our client sites on their platform - we have been using them for over 5+ years now and have been overall pleased.
The hoster offers us very many options and features to customize the webspace. It is very optimized for our CMS and also offers automatic installation. Updates can be saved and done automatically.
The SSL certificate has given us problems before - we then reset all DNS settings with support and now everything works.
The webhoster offers us the possibility to present our homepage well. We have done a speed check and with this new hoster we reach 70 points for mobile use and almost 100 points for desktop view. It doesn't get much better than that. The prices are also very good.
WP Engine keeps their web hosting service simple and allows our WordPress websites to load quickly since the hosting environment is designed for WordPress. The account tools are easy to use and mostly self-explanatory in nature. We can update our core WordPress files and plugins through the WP Engine system. The pricing is good for all of the features and enhanced hosting performance that we get. The customer support is also very helpful and pleasant to communicate with.
I can't complain about a whole lot with WP Engine, but I think it would be great if there were more built-in visitor analytics in our standard account features. I think that some of the analytics regarding site performance aren't really that useful for us from a marketing and user analytics standpoint.
WP Engine gives our company an optimized web hosting environment for our websites that reduces the amount of time commitments we need for account management and maintenance. Our web pages load quickly most of the time, which I think maximizes the website visitor experience and leads to conversions in sales or increases in form sign ups or service inquiries.
I like the ease of use of WP Engine. I don't need to worry about upgrades, patches, security issues, performance, DR, and time-consuming administrative things like that. It is all taken care for more by WP Engine. I can focus on delivering sites that perform for my customers.
User account management can be a little quirky as you have accounts inside of your WordPress instances and a second set of accounts in WP Engine. Also, installing and updating custom SSL certificates is not automated on their site and requires opening a support ticket.
We have enjoyed the fact that WP Engine is very easy to use and the dashboard is very user friendly. We can do everything from the dashboard such as setup SSL, create SFTP users, CDN, cache, domain mapping, setup staging, etc. It has very good chat support, they are always available for our help. The WP Engine team can take care of our websites. They email us every day regarding the vulnerabilities of plugins. They can take care of WordPress updates.
WP Engine has a tight system in place to strengthen the performance and security of our WordPress websites. We don't have to pay frequent attention to configurations or monitor activity from external threats. The user interface of WP Engine is neatly organized and allows us to change settings quickly without complicated procedures. The pricing is quite reasonable and competitive with similar WP management solutions I know about.
Using WP Engine doesn't quite give me the flexibility that I had when working with a standard hosting platform. Though I like the metrics that can be viewed in our dashboard, there aren't as many advanced metrics included. I would like to be able to add more extensions to give us more data and integration options.
We don't need to constantly monitor activity on our WordPress websites. WP Engine runs our websites in a stable environment that's less prone to malware and negative performance issues. Our web pages usually load as fast as industry standard page loading speeds. We can maintain our WP website settings, databases and other elements in a concise and secure environment that allows us to focus more on content creation.
The fast loading times are probably one of the best things about WP Engine. Being able to manage a hosting account that is specifically suited for WordPress is very convenient and reduces much of the clutter of less relevant features in other web hosting services. The WP Engine support team is very knowledgeable about common installation, coding and malware issues. I like that we can see live traffic and account data in our user portal. It's also very convenient that we can set up access to content delivery networks.
The pricing is a bit on the high end. I don't like that there is a limit to how many websites we can include in our account. Other web hosting plans with similar pricing often offer hosting of an unlimited number of websites. Due to the limited number of websites allowed and save money, we also use other hosting packages for less complex WordPress websites.
The WP Engine platform has been a smooth and easy way for us to host and manage many of our critical WordPress websites. We not only use them for marketing and allowing easy access to online forms, we also use them for client websites and other digital asset needs. WP Engine gives us a good amount of web security and allows us to WordPress pages more efficiently, which creates a better experience for the end user.
There is a lot to like about WPEngine, but I think their support team is the best. They are friendly, knowledgeable, quick, and thorough. They take the time to help but also to make sure I understand the technical aspects of the issue at hand. Their security is top notch, too. In the years we've been hosting with them, we've never had any hacks, breaches, or any security issues.
There really isn't much of anything to dislike. I do wish they had some better entry-level pricing options, but other than that, I can't complain about the quality of service.
WPEngine keeps me from worrying about the security of my website. Their support staff keeps me from spending unnecessary time troubleshooting issues. Website uptime is exceptional.
The best thing about WP Engine is how easy they make everything. If you need a staging environment - boom - there you go. If you need a CDN set up - boom - there you go. If you need SSL - boom - you get it. Also the live chat support is amazing!
The pricing may seem initially a little high with what you can usually find at other places in regards to basic hosting, the pricing tiers are annoying too. Basic at $30 and the next level is $100...kind of a leap... Also..setting up the domain mapping is a bit of a headache as the DNS records seem to take longer than normal.
As a freelance business owner I relay on the ability to set up quick SECURE staging environments and deploy sites quickly to my clients servers. Super easy to get things done with just pushing buttons. Also, if I have any tricky server questions the live support team is available even at 3am in the morning.
Working with the friendly and knowledgeable technicians. Help is always a quick chat away!
So far, there is nothing that we've found to dislike.
We love working with a company that is specific to the WordPress platform. This is primarily what we use for our web clients, so it helps to work with a company that's so focused on doing that really well.
Super easy, but still great access to all the back-end stuff I need like PHPMyadmin, SFTP etc.
It would be nice to migrate with one step, but feels like that is asking a lot
Multiple Wordpress sites on Amazon AWS
WP Engine's focus has allowed them to fine-tune the experience of hosting a WP site. Having used many hosts, WP Engine is the most simple and most reliable. We want our sites to "just work", and WP Engine is the first to make that happen. There's definitely a philosophy behind WP Engine which just doesn't really exist with other hosts. We appreciate their vision. WP Engine is an active WP community member which shows their broader quest to drive WP forward.
Some developers might see WP Engine's platform limiting as you don't get a "server", so there isn't any CLI or non-LAMP support. For us, this focus and minimalism is actually what makes WP Engine great, but they might not be for everyone.
WP Engine has allowed us to incorporate hosting as a core component of business. We actually REQUIRE clients host with us because we want the best experience for them and know that WP Engine will deliver that. We've driven revenue and phenomenal client experiences with this approach.
The customer support is truly remarkable! During migration of my websites, it was quite intense - thankfully since the months when I started, I rarely speak to the support guys much anymore, but its b=very comforting to know they are there 24/7 as I may need them.
Nothing really - after many hosting provider relationships, this is where I will stay.
I have some customised software that was built in Wordpress - before switching to WP Engine, I was convinced it required an entire rebuild. After the switch it purred like a kitten ;)
Where to begin? WP Engine is the most robust and performing hosting available for WordPress sites, bar none. With WP Engine you'll never have to worry about caching again, you'll never have to worry about backups again, you'll never have to worry about setting up a dev/test site again, you'll have the easiest time setting up SSL, and it'll be free, you'll never have to worry about infected plugins again, and you'll run your site with less plugins than you used to. Turning on CDN is as easy as clicking on a checkmark. Creating a duplicate of your site is as easy as pressing a button and waiting a minute or so. Their support services and live chat are super fast and reliable, and they are open about what's going on. You can definitely host for less at other places, but you'll save so much time using WP Engine, and when you add up all the stuff it comes with out of the box you'll quickly realize that you're actually saving money as well.
The high price seems like a barrier at first, so I dislike having to convince clients to pay $30 a month for hosting, but what you get out of it is 100% quality.
Ultra reliable hosting, ultra-high performance WordPress sites, easy backups and restores, easy management of multiple WordPress sites, automatic plugin, version and security updates. Easy CDN implementation. Benefits have been a 80% performance boost for most of my sites, a bump in pagerank, and an ease of managing multiple WP sites.
They are a true service oriented company, we've been with them for a number of years and have consolidated all of our old hosting accounts to WPEngine. We have acquired a number of companies over the years, and dealt with a bunch of vendors and none were as detailed, attentive or comprehensive as WPE. In all seriousness: Sh*t happens in IT operations (its the name of the game), and it's great to know a trusted vendor will roll up their sleeves when the time comes to help you out.
So far so good, I don't have any complaints - really its delivered on the product promise.

The WordPress management panel helps supplement WordPress' admin settings itself, making it straight-forward and intuitive to manage the entire server, not just the installed application itself. Live chat with technical support throughout the day helps to streamline more complicated tasks like the installation of SSL certificates.
While you can use the WordPress admin to automatically update the application, there aren't very many bindings back into the app from the WPEngine dashboard. Every time a plugin or theme is updated, the system prompts you to back things up first (which is a good idea), when the system can-and should-be able to back things up for you automatically.

I like that it's easy to make backups and environments. Also, I've been pleased with their customer support.
It's a bit costly compared to other hosts I've used in the past.
We switched our WordPress theme at the beginning of the year. We created a development environment while setting up the new theme. We then migrated the environment to production and the new theme was live and it all happened without any issues. We were very pleased!
I like various things about WPEngine Hosting, including: 1. I like how the Customer Service team at WPEngine is always there when you face any issue with the Website. No matter if the problem is related to Hosting or Website Configure/Code... if they can help, they will 2. Being able to Backup & Restore a Website quickly with a Click, plus the way you can use Development, Staging & PROD Environments 3. I like how I can enable CDN with a Click without doing any DNS Changes 4. Nowadays, it includes Studiopress themes in the Subscription
Once CDN is enabled, you can't seem to disable caching ( not sure what happens, but this is what I got when I tried asking them how to disable it for a while ). WPEngine Plan prices are on the higher-end with Pageview limits. On Shared Hosting, other sites on the Service might affect your Site's performance.
The benefits of using WPEngine include how you can enable SSL & CDN etc., quite easily. Plus, moving things between Dev, Staging & PROD environments make the Development, Testing & Implementation process way more manageable.
WP Engine offers various hosting plans to accommodate websites of all sizes, from small blogs to large e-commerce sites. WP Engine is an excellent choice for developers who need more control over their website's performance and customization. They offer features like SSH access, Git integration, and one-click staging sites that make developing and testing your website easy.
Although it is perfectly managed to host WordPress websites, syncing the staging environment with live website is a bit complex. There should be a testing environment as well for testing teams.
Overall, WP Engine is solving a range of problems related to WordPress website hosting, including performance, security, scalability, and support. By addressing these issues, WP Engine is benefiting website owners and developers
