On a £100 sale paying 6% commission, Awin’s partner gets £6 and Awin gets £3.50. That example is Awin’s own, and it is the single most important line on its pricing page: the tracking fee is a percentage of sale value, not of the commission you pay. So the network’s cut is 58% of what the affiliate earns, and your true cost of an affiliate sale is 9.5% of revenue rather than the 6% on your commission sheet.
- What it is: One of the largest affiliate marketing networks, connecting advertisers to a directory of more than a million publishers.
- Best for: Brands with real transaction volume who want an established network rather than self-hosted tracking.
- Pricing: Access £99 + 3.5% per transaction; Accelerate from £199 + 2.5%; Advanced quoted. Plus VAT. Verified July 2026.
- The honest catch: The 3.5% and 2.5% are on sale value, so they scale with revenue, not with what you pay partners.
What Is Awin?
Awin is a global affiliate network: advertisers run programmes on it, publishers join those programmes, and Awin handles tracking, attribution, payment, and the relationship in between. Its directory covers more than a million partners, which is the main reason to use a network rather than run affiliate tracking yourself — you get discovery and recruitment as well as plumbing.
The pricing page splits by audience — advertisers, content creators, affiliate partners, and agencies — with published rates only for advertisers. Everything below describes the advertiser side.
Awin cites a set of 2026 G2 awards including Leader and Most Implementable for mid-market, which is a reasonable proxy for how the platform is regarded by the people using it.
How Awin Works
- A monthly platform fee plus a percentage of every tracked sale.
- The tracking fee falls as you move up — 3.5% on Access, 2.5% on Accelerate.
- The fee applies to transaction value, not to commission paid.
- Access is self-managed; Accelerate offers managed service as an option.
- Access includes a free first month and a three-month minimum term.
- Alternative rates exist for businesses without transaction values, such as finance and telecoms.
Awin Pricing
Captured from Awin’s UK advertiser pricing page in July 2026 in pounds sterling, exclusive of VAT.
| Plan | Monthly | Tracking fee | Term | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Access | £99 + VAT | 3.5% of sale value | 3-month minimum, first month free | Self-managed starters |
| Accelerate | From £199 + VAT | 2.5% of sale value | Quoted | Teams wanting APIs and automation |
| Advanced | Custom | Custom | Quoted | Enterprises needing full platform access |
What actually decides your cost:
- Read the tracking fee as a percentage of revenue, not of commission. Awin’s own worked example is unambiguous: a £100 sale at 6% commission pays the partner £6 and Awin £3.50. Awin’s cut is 58% of the affiliate’s. On Accelerate’s 2.5% it is 42%. Whatever commission rate you have modelled, add 2.5 to 3.5 points of gross to get your real cost per sale.
- The cheaper plan stops being cheaper at £10,000 a month. Access is £99 plus 3.5%; Accelerate is £199 plus 2.5%. Setting those equal gives £10,000 of monthly tracked sales — below that Access wins, above it Accelerate does, and the gap widens quickly. At £20,000 a month Accelerate saves £100; at £50,000 it saves £400.
- The monthly fee is almost irrelevant at scale. At £20,000 of monthly sales the platform fee is £99 against £700 of tracking fees. Negotiating the percentage matters roughly seven times more than negotiating the subscription.
- Access has a genuinely low-risk shape. First month free and a three-month minimum term is unusually forgiving for a network, and it means a small brand can test whether affiliate works at all for well under £500.
- Accelerate is quoted “from” £199. Only Access has a fixed published price; everything above it involves a conversation, so budget on the percentage and treat the monthly as negotiable.
- Automation and reporting are the Accelerate features. APIs, enhanced reporting, industry benchmarks, and automated commission rules across ten dimensions — product, SKU, new versus existing customer, coupon code, campaign, publisher, and more.
Who Should Use Awin
- Ecommerce brands with real volume. The clearest case, and where a network’s publisher directory earns its percentage.
- Businesses starting affiliate from scratch. A free first month and a three-month term makes testing genuinely cheap.
- Brands needing publisher discovery. Over a million partners is the thing you cannot replicate with self-hosted tracking.
- International programmes. Awin’s global footprint is one of its stronger arguments over regional networks.
It fits poorly for high-volume, low-margin retail, where 3.5% of gross is punishing; for SaaS with recurring revenue, where PartnerStack is purpose-built; and for brands with an existing partner base who need tracking rather than recruitment, where self-hosted software is far cheaper.
Honest Pros and Cons
Strengths
- A publisher directory of over a million partners, with recommendations.
- Published advertiser pricing, which much of this category refuses to do.
- A free first month and a three-month minimum on Access.
- The tracking fee falls with scale, from 3.5% to 2.5%.
- Strong automation at Accelerate — commission rules across ten dimensions.
- Well regarded, with 2026 G2 Leader and Most Implementable placements.
Limitations
- The tracking fee is on sale value, so it scales with revenue regardless of margin.
- Awin’s cut is 58% of a 6% commission on the entry plan.
- Only Access has a fixed price; Accelerate is “from” and Advanced is quoted.
- Prices exclude VAT, which adds 20% for UK advertisers.
- The percentage dominates the bill at any meaningful volume.
- Alternative rates for non-transactional businesses are unpublished.
Awin Alternatives and How It Compares
- Impact is the enterprise partnership platform, broader than affiliate and priced accordingly.
- PartnerStack is built for B2B SaaS partner and reseller programmes rather than retail affiliate.
- ShareASale, now part of Awin, remains a separate network with its own publisher base.
- CJ Affiliate and Rakuten Advertising are the other large networks, both quote-only.
- Refersion, Tapfiliate, and Post Affiliate Pro are self-hosted alternatives — cheaper, with no publisher directory.

The Verdict
Awin is a credible choice for a brand that wants an established affiliate network rather than a tracking script, and it deserves credit for publishing advertiser prices at all — much of this category quotes everything. The publisher directory is the actual product: more than a million partners with recommendations and a marketplace is something you cannot build yourself, and it is what the percentage buys.
Understand that percentage before you model anything. The tracking fee applies to sale value, not to commission. Awin’s own example makes the point plainly: on a £100 sale paying 6% commission, the partner gets £6 and Awin gets £3.50. Your cost of that sale is £9.50 — 9.5% of revenue — and the network takes more than a third of it. If you have been planning an affiliate programme around a 6% commission rate, your real number on the Access plan is 9.5%, and margin-thin retail should do that arithmetic before signing anything.
The plan decision then follows from volume, and the crossover is precise. Access at £99 plus 3.5% equals Accelerate at £199 plus 2.5% at exactly £10,000 of monthly tracked sales. Below that, the cheaper subscription wins; above it, the lower percentage does, and the gap grows fast — £100 a month saved at £20,000 of sales, £400 at £50,000. It also follows that at any real volume the monthly fee is noise: at £20,000 a month you pay £99 in subscription and £700 in tracking fees, so the percentage is the only number worth negotiating. Start on Access to use the free first month and the three-month term, and move the moment your volume crosses £10,000.
FAQ
How much does Awin cost?
Captured on Awin’s UK advertiser pricing page in July 2026, excluding VAT: Access is £99 per month plus a 3.5% tracking fee on each transaction, Accelerate is from £199 per month plus 2.5%, and Advanced is custom-priced. Access includes a free first month and has a three-month minimum term. Businesses without transaction values, such as finance and telecoms, are offered alternative rates on request.
Is Awin’s tracking fee charged on the sale or on the commission?
On the sale value. Awin’s own example on the pricing page states that for a £100 sale with 6% commission, the partner receives £6 and Awin receives £3.50 under the Access plan. That means the tracking fee is calculated on gross transaction value, not on what you pay the publisher — so Awin’s cut works out at 58% of the commission on Access and 42% on Accelerate.
When should I move from Awin Access to Accelerate?
At £10,000 of monthly tracked sales. Access costs £99 plus 3.5% and Accelerate costs from £199 plus 2.5%, so the two are identical at £10,000 a month — £449 either way. Below that, Access is cheaper despite the higher percentage; above it, Accelerate’s lower rate more than covers the extra £100 subscription, saving £100 a month at £20,000 of sales and £400 at £50,000.
What is the real cost of an affiliate sale on Awin?
Your commission rate plus the tracking fee, both calculated on sale value. On the Access plan a £100 sale at 6% commission costs £9.50 in total — £6 to the partner and £3.50 to Awin. On Accelerate the same sale costs £8.50. Add VAT on the platform fees, and factor this into your margin before setting commission rates, because the network’s percentage is a fixed cost of revenue rather than of profit.
Is Awin worth it compared with self-hosted affiliate software?
It depends on whether you need publishers or only tracking. Self-hosted tools like Refersion or Post Affiliate Pro cost a fraction of Awin’s percentage but give you no partner directory, so you must recruit every affiliate yourself. Awin’s million-plus publisher network and recommendation engine is what the 2.5% to 3.5% pays for. If you already have the partners and simply need attribution and payment, self-hosted is dramatically cheaper.

- Great support team - A large number of national and international platforms - Reasonable fee structure for Awin Access
- Search function can be quite hard to navigate - Affiliate reccomendations could be better
It has helped grow the presence and sales for a number of clients for ourselves from multinational ecommerce entities to a small business focusing on home products.
Reliable dashboard and easy to use features. I find the Awin dashboard extremely easy to use compared to other networks for reporting especially however validations, newsletters & contacting new publishers also very easy.
One feature I would like to see is an option to filter approved/pending/rejected transactions on a publisher performance report. Sometimes when pulling data the total amount is just (approved + pending) while rejected isn't incorporated into the total amount which has confused junior team members. This is sometimes unhelpful when you're looking at YoY comparisons.
Clear reporting while new partners feature easy to use, we contact new publishers regularly for our clients. Also, account management sends over new opportunities monthly, which we look into and feed back to our clients.
Everything is in one place. I do not have to spend time searching for what I am looking for. I can get a job done effectively and efficiently with just a few clicks.
There are not many things I dislike about Awin. All the platforms are clearly listed within the same platform which makes my job easier as i do not have to keep switching dashboards.
We are able to track how much money the business is spending on affiliates. This helps us manage internal expectations, budgets and all future marketing campaigns.
The platform dashboard and ease of use, being able to search easily for new publishers in the platform and adding/inviting them to our program, much more organised and easily categorised compared to SAS.
Working on both SAS and Awin, means there are some elements of the SAS platform that I prefer using over Awin, such as the in-depth reporting and info you can get on each publisher in SAS compared to Awin.
Onboarding and growing the UK affiliate program with limited resources and time, and having everything centralised in one place, in terms of commissions, revenue and overall performance.
The account management team are lovely and the senior peirs of them teams are supper knowledgable. Reporting is easy
The Wiki is developed purely from a Tech Pov and can be very challenging for larger companies that do not have a direct link with the development team. Some of the functions are extremely restrictive and access needs to be requested.
Help support our affiliate channel growth.
Huge network which is easy to use. Account managers are helpful and always try their best to support and improve the programme. Lots of reporting options which is great!
There's multiple ways to access the same thing which can sometimes be confusing. Staff work 4 day weeks so sometimes things can be missed or take slightly longer.
Finding and collaborating with upcoming and new publishers we wouldn't have thought of otherwise, as the network is so diverse. This enables us to reach new audiences.
I think AWIN is a really great platform and I think the reporting tool is really useful when comparing the data month by month.
Something that would be useful is the ability to see performance data around creatives and offers. To see which were clicked on most etc
Awin makes the process of working with affiliates a lot easier and smoother.
Simplicity - No frills, easy to use and very intuitive
nothing really, works well without issues
bridging the gap between affiliates and retailers
All the various different reports that I can download to track performance and affiliates in my advertiser account.
Tracking issues from our side make it difficult to use all the metrics that are currently tracking on the platform which is the biggest downside.
With the said tracking issues, this is something that we have found work-arounds but the support from the Awin team was what made this possible and their knowledge.
Popularity with affiliates, clear reporting, simple structure.
Can be slow on Monday mornings. I would prefer to be able to delete creative.
It's a very simple to use platform which we get for a good price that does not prohibit our growth.
It's great for finding new offers! There is so much you can try.
I am yet to find a downside, but once I do will feedback.
I am looking for new offers to test and awin helps me do that!
Awin has a really user friendly interface, making it easy to review reporting, merchants and new opportunities
It'd be great to get updates on new merchants joining awin who have exclusive code, PPC and tenancy opportunities available
I don't have to ask for proof of CPA setup as the CPA schedule tool makes this info readily available
The awin program is really easy to set up and out of the box allows you to quickly expand your portfolio and to increase additional revenue.
I currently dont have any dislikes with the service provided by awins
Its providing us with an additonal revenue stream whilst increasing awareness of our brand.
Finding publishers from everywhere and automatise the collaboration
Some analysis could be improved to offer more insights
good conversion rate
The publisher directory is great to find new potential affiliates for your program
Not all publishers use AWIN which can be problematic. Additionally, there is no where to chat directly with publishers in the platform with everything being directed to email.
Helps us easily find and manage affiliates for our ecom business, contributing in sales.
Awin is easy to use even for newbies or smaller brands.
The UI could be a little more user-friendly, but it works, nevertheless.
The team often reach out with new ways of identifying new connections.
I have been using the AWIN affiliate network for quite some time and the best thing about it is that they have lots of campaigns to choose from, from various countries, like the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, etc. Also, you can contact the advertisers directly for fast approval.
The AWIN affiliate network requires a 1 GBP sign up fee which I dislike because other affiliate networks don't ask for any fee for an account sign up, they offer it for free.
As AWIN's campaigns database is big, we can earn good commissions from their programs. We are currently using their programs for the UK region. Their tracking system is good as it shows sales in real time.
I like the filter search of the programs that they have. It's a very intuitive platform and you get handy all information needed to succeed. Once you are in, you start providing all the information about your website, but you can add as many websites as you want on the same account. Also, they recently added the choice to be paid through Payoneer which makes it very useful for many freelancers or bloggers. Awin is a platform that has been made for affiliate marketers, is a good option as long as your desirable company uses it in order to look for partnerships. But, remember that every platform is different and the rate for earning may be different too.
You have to pay a 5$ fee to get into the platform and you will get the fee back once you cash out but It can take a while to make it. Another thing I have to say is that the customer service isn't great. It can take a long time in order that someone can answer your questions so, I would suggest looking first at the answers on the faqs or in related blogs that talk about the common issues it may appear.
Awin has allowed me to be upfront with many possible companies looking for partnerships. Awin let me see my stats, clicks, converting rates of all the people that come to my website. If you are interested in Awin check first if the company you would like to work with is in there or at least check out which companies are useful for your blog or business at Awin before getting in.

technical problems some times
Thanks to the size we can identify a big variety of partner also for niche markets.
Especially the Approval Function to Approve or Reject Applications isn't up to date. I'm missing a better overview. Advanced filter methods.
We are using Awin for customer acquisition in the real estate market. With Awin we have a all in one solution for controlling the whole affiliate marketing channel.
The volume of publishers and the commission management / payout
The UX is terrible especially filtering potential publishers
Affiliate marketing for a small company, getting new customers
Wide range of partner, trusty figures, easy approach, readable figures
Higher price based on different service level are increasing the costs
Realist track, publisher manegment
The platform's tracking and tech is solid as is the access to publishers. They deal with payments expediantly and the commercials are reasonably palatable. Would always recommend them due to being established in the market.
Not amazing account management but that's mainly due to being on the self serve problem. Mild concern about the performance of certain publishers sending such high volumes of traffic that doesn't convert and the origin.
Provides access to a wide range of publishers rather than having to deal with billing, reporting and tracking of partners individually which is not worth it for the overhead.
It's easy to use Good tracking There is a team who is willing to help you
The level of support can vary depending on the designated account manager Many companies do not know how to implement your trackings and they need more 1-2-1 support
The affiliate channel for the company I am working for.
1-Once the integration was live. Then adding or editing events was easier. 2-Easy to QA and approve the work done by affiliates
1-Integration is painful. Very low support on specific custom issues one is going to face. 2-Noise is high. Hard to pick the right player to pick. 3-No way to define what audience/persona you are looking for 4-Costly. I believe the cost is 40%-50% bloated.
Reaching affiliate for marketing my B2C product
I love that it tracks all sales and commission for affiliates, and takes care of their taxes!
I feel the Interface could be updated to be more user friendly
tracking sales with affiliates and making sure they have taxes
It's super easy to understand and use. Not much support or explanation is needed. The platform is self-explanatory
When support is needed, their team is not available for anything involving scaling up.
Helping me organize and keep track of my affiliate collaborations including paying the collaborators I work with.
Having the ability to manage all affiliates in once place is really easy. The ability to then segment for different offers and commission structures benefits our business greatly.
It is difficult to find the right affiliate at times. There are a lot of publishers on the site who frankly shouldn't be on there. More due diligence into accepting affiliates would be great.
Keeping affiliate management in once place has helped our business prioritise other marketing channels, knowing our affiliate scheme is being run in the background without too much intervention.
Publisher discovery tools, User-friendly UI and ease of reporting
No chat functionality for quick questions, Support lacking on some functionality especially setting up of product feeds, support should be able to get on calls.
Scaling and optimising our affiliate programs

Tech limitations e.g. commission groups and flexibility
Awin is helping us get a better understanding of APAC affiliates and this is helping reduce questions and concerns within the business
