I am using it as project progress, invoicing, and time tracking tool, which has been very helpful in the same place.

Adding a new client to BigTime was a little tough.

I contacted a specialist to help me add a new client. Essentially, it was simpler than I thought.

Time entry is pretty straightforward, and I like the overall look of the application. I liked viewing everything I've done during the week and getting an idea of where I'm putting in my effort.

Requires a lot of clicking around, and you can't search the entire database of client matters. Adding matters is not very intuitive.

Billing time for core services; keeping track of clients; billing. We've achieved benefits to the first two.

I have to say that the support team is very reactive and will attempt to solve your problems on the spot.

It is US based and that like always, it means that it is english only. It also means that more often than not you have to put your browser in english to be able to use all of the features. Overtime banks seem impossible to cleanly configure. We have to use negative time and then translate it back into positive time. It takes some getting used to.

Tracking vacation time and approval of timesheets for the employees

We converted from Big Time's Enterprise Version to IQ. Definitely has a nicer look. Project dashboard is much improved. Custom reports are easy to create. Help contact is responsive but don't always have all the answers.

Conversion process a lot more difficult than anticipated considering we were essentially going to a more modern version of the same software. Many minor bugs, especially on the invoicing side. Probably needed more input from project management companies in making design.

Project management is especially important. Report designs and ease of custom reports are helpful. Invoicing still has bugs but Big Time is addressing some of these issues and we have put in work-arounds on other issues.

Easy to enter time and pull reports for employees time and clients.

Submitting of time is on a different screen; so follow-up with employees is rather tedious.

I like the user friendly and intuitive interface that allows team members to enter their time quickly and easily. It also allows us to create our own reports to easily manipulate data

There are integration issues and many "work around" options that make the customizing more complicated than the way it is presented to us. There are random glitches that cause us to have to recreate reports on a regular basis. Small issues take a long time to get fixed, if at all.

Entering time and expenses regularly and consistently. Significantly reduced our time for submitting expenses from the team working on the road. Taking pictures of receipts reduced the chances of losing the receipts before submission. Ability to create a run reports on time and expenses in a customized way.

I like that it is relatively straightforward to use, not much onboarding time

I wish we could just enter in the minutes we spend using it instead of having to put in .25 or .5 etc. I also have so many rows I waste a lot of time looking for which client and what activity to bill to. They should have a search feature

Overall, Bigtime is a pretty simple system for keeping track of your working hours. It's easy to use once you understand it, and it's pretty "no frills" software.

The taxonomy of how information is organized isn't intuitive, and a lot of times it's a question of having to know where to look before looking. Some of this has to do with how it's set up, but there is a bit of a learning curve.

It's easier to track time than a previous system that we used, and the mobile app gives me another way to enter time and track my hours outside of the web app.

Our company requests every employee to fill the Bigtime sheet and submit it once every week. Managers use the information we submitted to track project budget, employee performance, etc. Bigtime has a comprehensive list of projects and labor types for us to choose from. Bigtime accounts how my time is spent perfectly.

The tool doesn't have an user-friendly mobile app. I used it for once and uninstalled it right after. In addition, I don't like hit "Save" bottom every time I add time.

If I don't track our time, my work efficiency will be lower. Sometimes, I forget what I have done and what I need to do right at the end of the day. The tool indeed helps me to manage my time.

BigTime constantly has technical issues, glitches, and bugs. It's unreliable for that reason. I might not be able to edit what is needed, or it might not save correctly, or all kinds of other things.

Scheduling is limited and bulky, Time-off not shown in the schedule, tasks status doesn't automatically update, no resource or workforce allocation, user rights customization limited, more task categories needed, task predecessors needed, timesheet approval dashboard is HORRIBLE - not having tiered approval settings makes time approval frustrating and time-consuming, tiered approvals should be included in Pro, customer service can be slow when urgency is needed, no upload capability for timesheets (for those who must also maintain external timesheets), no integration with paycom, no forecasting ability, time approval should show more detail like display of project balance, Can't copy and duplicate projects to reduce hours of manual entry, Can't link connected projects, closed projects and terminated staff should be removed from line items, the "automation" piece needs a bit more work because there is a lot of manual work. There is more but I will talk to a rep about the issues.

Reporting capabilities of Bigtime are amazing + you can create custom fields and report on them (on project and customers)

WORST customer care experience. Lied regarding the available integrations - literally have a screenshot of the Xero integration having the invoices being pushed from Bigtime to Xero using Zappier, Sales guy confirmed that it is working (why it should not? it is all over the knowledge base and software itself!) But sadly, when we arrived to the integration itself, we discovered that it DOES NOT EXIST. When I approached the customer success manager, all he had to say is - At this time we do not have any sponsored integration with Xero, I really do apologize for any inconvenience there! Yeah quite an inconvenience indeed - had to hire an external consulting firm to integrate properly with our accounting system. Also Sales confirmed that custom fonts can be imported to the PDF template, but, again, when we had to do it, we discovered that it is not true. Really poor customer contact - just write to the live chat, they respond in the next hours, when the "appointed" person takes days/weeks and you will also need to follow up with him if you want to get things done. Maybe if you go with quickbooks (sponsored integration), your experience could be better, but frankly, would never believe that

Accurate Project Time Tracking

We were looking for a way to track time as well as have a system that integrates with our financial software. It appears that this will be our solution!

As we would love to use Big Time in conjunction with our payroll system, it would nice if this software could allow logging the time of day in addition to just the total amount of hours.

We are using Big Time to solve our problems and challenges we are having regarding time tracking against our budgets. We are also using it to track our billable expenses and to then bill them out to the client.
