If found it easy to request scrapers. I expected some back-and-forth to get exactly the data I need, but the developers got it right the first time. The developers also respond to issue very quickly. Tickets I've submitted have generally been resolved in less than 24 hours.
It can be difficult to predict the cost of a given number of inputs to the scraper, because different inputs lead to different numbers of page loads. There may not be any way for Brightdata to change this.
I'm researching the costs and benefits of sponsored content on social media. Through Brightdata, I've been able to collect a large volume of social media data to analyze.
I have used the platform for one research project so far, but am planning to collaborate with Bright Data again in the future. In my opinion their platform is quite intuitive and easy to use, also because they conduct an onboarding session including a video tutorial. The data was provided in a way that was easy to implement and integrate into my research workflow. Their staff was super responsive via mail and we also had multiple zoom calls to discuss any issues. Further, they actively promote our colloboration which increases the exposure of my own research: https://brightinitiative.com/partners-stories/insead-felix
So far there is nothing that I disliked about Bright Data. It is true that some technical knowledge is helpful to make the most use of the resources that they provide. Lastly, I can only speak to the quality of the Bright Initiative; I did not use any commercial services.
I was working together with the Bright Initiative of Bright Data. Specifically, they supported me with a research project investigating the behavior of social media users. For this I need to gather vast amounts of data from multiple social media platforms. Bright Data supported me by granting me access to thei Dataset Marketplace which allowed me to filter through the Instagram data to create a comprehensive set of data relevant for my study. In addition to the pro bono provision of data, Bright Data also convinced me with excellent technical support.
The Population Project attempts to list the full name and date of birth of all humans alive. We're constantly looking for online resources, querying Google in various languages and from multiple locations. We found about Bright Data as we were looking for a provider of proxies. We got lucky enough to be handpicked as a non-profit partner and joined the Bright Data Initiative program as a result. We now have access to the full spectrum of Bright Data's services, a privilege on which it's difficult to pin a dollar value. The breadth of the product range is mindboggling. What I like best about Bright Data is the ease of interaction with both the service and the technical teams. All of our questions or requests are quickly accommodated. I wish all our IT providers were as kind and diligent!
It took me a bit of time to get acclimated with the dashboard interface and the permission system. But we're all good now!
We query search engines thousands of times a day. Bright Data helps us emulate the experience of running searches from multiple countries or platforms.
I like the different form of integration for technical tools, so we can build a toolchain that can easily integrate with the network. We are building tools in the big and still loosely defined area of platform responsibility, and we need to simulate user behavior. With BrightData, our IP address is considered residential and we don't qualify as a bot, so we can investigate personalization and localization algorithms with less difficulty.
If I don't like something about brightdata, it's because I haven't read the documentation well enough to understand what's going on.
Because platforms behave differently for users with different languages and source IP addresses, brightdata's global network allows me to easily compare how the same app would behave differently for the same content.
Bottom line is that the product worked great. Collecting the publicly available data that I needed manually was impractical, so Bright Data's help was critical.
Nothing really. The product suited my needs perfectly.
I needed information on real estate listings over 200 markets. With their web tool, I was able to get this information over all 200 listings. I was able to use this information in an academic study.
Service quality, support is awesome, fast responses and always resolving the issues. Couldn't find other providers of similar products to have this complete list of services.
Maybe the lack of benefits for long lasting clients?
The essential of our business is to get the data correctly. Their services help us to do so.
It is the best in my work life, and very useful for me, I would like share it with my friends
No, I like it so much, ease of use,It help me so much
I can use it to access foreign network fastly and get quick response.
The porfolio of services covers all our research requirements. The stability and speed of the solution has not been compromised even once since we'd started using it on a daily basis more that a year ago . We've had a few questions when designing a very specific solution which were all immediately awnsered by the tech team. The integration with the remaining components was very quick due to very flxible configuations. The reach of the data analysis that we have obtained from the tools is unprecedented.
We've not enountred any shortcomings with regards to the product, commnication or service therefore there is nothing that we could recommend to improve.
Bright Data solves our fundanmental issue of accessing large numbers of websites in search for disinformation. We need to be able to scan as many various media sources as possible therefore we cannot technicaly negotiate indivdually the terms of accessing data for each source. WIthout Bright Data our scrappers are often not let in, blocked or severly slowed down after several requests. Bright Data allows us to bypass those restriction and increase our ability for data collection by orders of magnitude.
Bright data proxies are very effective in preventing blocking. The integration of the bright data tool in our pipeline is very easy. We use it on a daily basis, with thousands of requests, without any problem. The Bright Data dedicated support is also always on hand to help.
No real downsides have been met for now.
We need to crawl millions of web pages about scientific publications, in order to map the scientific research conducted worldwide, with details about the authors and their affiliations. These pieces of information should be entirely public, but can be blocked with anti-bot systems. Bright Data Web Unlocker is very efficient to secure access to this information.
Easy to use and whenever I have a concern their support is really fast and comprehensive to answer
If you use to a specific way of using their proxy, they will always answer to you with the curl request even if you provide another way to use it (axios / fetch)
It's helping us in making sure that we are getting the data as expected
