The best part of DO is the pricing, which allows smaller startups/individual developers to easily create apps affordably.
It would be great if you could import/export Snapshots from Droplets, and possibly a more affordable App Platform.
I use DigitalOcean to deploy NodeJS chat bots by scale. The best benefit by using DigitalOcean is the price to quality ratio, which is perfect. All the features of AWS/GCP in DigitalOcean.
The ease of drop let creation and existing templates
More variety in templates, for example Apache Superset
Data analysis, odk hosting, mysql hosting
What I like about DigitalOcean is the simplicity and variety of the services provided and that everything works.
Nothing, their offerings are well suited for my needs, especially their Kubernetes clusters
Building APIs
Reliablity, good tools and lots of documentation!
Well, digital ocean makes a vey good platform. I don't have any dislikes!
We are running our company servers on digital ocean.
The large variety of products and affordable pricing.
Sometimes, the tutorials are unclear about certain things or have missing information for beginners.
Hosting rather expensive software on Digital Ocena servers saves a lot of money.
Creating droplets from the pre-existing images. Easy to attach volumes and floating IPs. The User Interface is good. There is no hidden costs, we will be paying that are specified upfront. simple and economical pricing.
Creating an instance from the snapshot is dependent on the image size and it takes forever. Same thing while moving a snapshot from one region to another.
creating droplets from the cloud panel. creating firewalls and attaching to the droplet. creating snapshots from the running droplet and launching droplet from the snapshots.
Digital Ocean droplets are amazing, they're extremely easy to use, connect and manage. There are scalable in many different ways and overall just amazing to work with and host on.
I genuinely have nothing I dislike about the droplets, they're amazing and I've never had an issue with them.
I use digital ocean to host apps and services for all to use, and it helps out a lot of people. But on the actual vps-side, it's finally an easily usable dashboard, and it's all simple and easy to use.
No downtime for servers. Website speed was excellent.
Not for beginners. Require techincal expertise.
Building WordPress websites. Great servers compared to others.
Everything ,right from price point to user experience to customers support
Nothing much to say.. they are thorough professional company.. they know their space well
We are solving upfront cost of server and storage by using digital ocean services
digitalocean is built by developers for developers so they understand our needs and in my opinion DO droplets are the best and easiest way to deploy code.
there’s nothing that i dislike about digitalocean, their features fulfill our needs so nothing to complain about.
our wordpress website is hosted on a linux droplet provided by DigitalOcean at an affordable price, we also use it to deploy some python scripts that we developed internally to automate some company tasks.
Simpler interface of its dashboard is very likely the thing for beggineer. A one with at least knowledge of operating system and internet knowledge can work effortlessly with digitalocean cloud service. The developer who is trying to deploying an application can start with simple apps that already have an installed software's which are necessary of their choice, so he can be more focused on the code he is making.
There is nothing to dislike with the digital ocean service. although i will notify my dislikes if i found any.
I have my back-end of my server running on digital ocean cloud. Which is hosted using digital ocean virtual machine instance. Which is running 24/7 and serves to my clients which are end user of the smartphone application which is hosted on playstore. I can manage my resources based on my requirements like i can increase my ram or increase my cpu whenever i need them. There is simple documentation on digitalocean blog which comes handy lot of time.
I love how easy is to setup your own server for hosting applications and their low prices!
I would like them to implement more services like AWS so they can be more competitive.
I am hosting the company's main application/website in it.
DigitalOcean's cloud platform is suitable for both individuals just working on their side projects and for big companies with huge demands with hundreds of thousands of servers. I also love their managed Kubernetes service, you can simply get a Kubernetes cluster up and running with just a couple of clicks. Also, their new Managed MySQL database service is great, you can spin new read-only replicas with just a click of a button.
There's nothing that I don't like, their prices are amazing, their services are amazing as well!
If you need a server to test something, you could spin it up for less than 30 seconds and it would cost you $0.007 per hour.
Simply the best hosting I have used Simply the best hosting I have used. Followed a guide from SimonWard.net and have all my sites now hosted on the same droplet running fast and secure! I recommend DigitalOcean over any other hosting.
I've been with Digital Ocean for over 3 years and for the first time recently required tech support due to troubles with their emailing of authentication codes. Their tech support are slower than they are arrogant. It took 5 days to get nowhere with them - while they publicly acknowledged an error with their emailing, privately they blamed me & were unhelpful then just gave up. Great services but the negative reviews are accurate - their customer service is appalling. If this matters to you, go elsewhere.
using their VPS for more than 4 years without problem ! great payment system, invoices, support, services maybe not cheapest, but they have the most and best services
It is very easy to sign up and pay and the droplet deploys within seconds.
The fact that it is easy to destroy without a proper questionnaire.
I use digital ocean to host my vehicle tracking platform.
The best thing is they provide high speed bandwidth
Price is little bit higher as compare to others
I like Servers because they provide good bandwidth to my websites
The DigitalOcean platform is very clean and easy to understand, anyone with little knowledge of cloud can also manage it. Spinning up an droplet is very easy and quick. We can use API to integrate the platform with CI/CD. The pricing is straightforward and there are no hidden costs.
The platform does not provide enough services to completely move on it and we end up with using multiple services.
* We use the DigitalOcean platform for our CI/CD purpose. * The management of compute resource is very easy. * We are able to quickly spin up new instances. * The resource utilization alerts.
Setting up your droplet and getting your application hosted and running is very simple and painless
I don't think I can answer this question.
Host the application I built
DigitalOcean has many benefits including low-cost and reliability. DigitalOcean allows you to rent a VPS (Virtual Private Server) and pay for it hourly; this means that if you only want a server for a few hours you don't have to pay much. Although the prices are low, I'm impressed by the features and support which is often better than more expensive hosting providers.
DigitalOcean doesn't have any inexpensive options for large data storage so if you wanted to store many files or a large database, the hosting bill would become very expensive.
DigitalOcean makes it very easy to quickly deploy a server for testing purposes or for handling a sudden increased load which requires more computational power.
Coming from a Windows Server environment and wanting to try an inexpensive Linux VPS instead, I found the documentation to be extremely helpful. Coupled with a little bit of Linux command line research and DO documentation, I got myself up and running on a very secure server in no time.
Some other reviews relating to "deleted block storage" volumes or other products has me a little worried (these reviews relate to lack of payment/updating expired payment methods). But I have two payment methods in place so I shouldn't have anything to worry about. I would recommend thoroughly reading all reviews to determine if DO is a good fit for you; but so far I haven't experienced any real issues of my own.
I have a shared hosting plan with GoDaddy and tried their VPS as well. I found it more advantageous and less expensive to use Digital Ocean for my VPS and keep any small websites on my GoDaddy shared hosting, thereby making the best use of both web hosts. Any larger web applications are now hosted on my Digital Ocean account where I can also easily set up background jobs to reduce the amount of work I have to do from administrative functions (eg. invoicing) to automatic database backups etc.
