Glide is extremely customizable and flexible to build a wide variety of applications. Highly intuitive, with a great support community and lots of functionality, I've loved using Glide to build.
The learning curve in a few specific areas can be challenging, but there is tons of support available.
Build solutions without taking product time.
I love how easy and quick it is to set up a new internal app. Just connect your pre-existing Airtable or Excel sheet, and make a few choices. Very easy. UI is nice right off the bat.
Glide is geared towards internal apps. I wish they would focus a little more on customer facing apps. I know it's not their primary target, but I wish it was. The limitations on "updates" is a bit frustrating, there are also (the last I checked) some limitations with the Airtable integration that need to be worked out.
Glide makes it easy to build beautiful apps without code. I originally intended to use Glide to replace my Stacker app which provides clients with restricted access to my Airtable data, but I found that Glide wasn't quite there yet in terms of features, likely in part due to the focus on using Glide for internal teams.
Glide enables me to quickly visualize my airtable/sheets data and build interactive web apps for my users!
Glide handles all of the design for you, which is great in principle, but I've had a few occasions where major design changes have left my users confused (since they learned with one UI and now are seeing a different one)!
Visualizing my airtable/sheets data, building web apps with auth, and collecting new data from my users.
It is very easy to set glide up and you can learn it very fast. I like that there is not lock-in, since I keep control over my data in Airtable. It is also handy that they found a good workaround to avoid the app-stores.
If you are trying to use it for a use-case that glide was not made for, you run into trouble quickly. So be sure you know what glide can and can not before investing too much time into it. Furthermore the design options are very limited.
I was able to quickly set up a map-based app on basis of data in Airtable (Which I already used anyway). So that is just amazing. No other tool would have allowed me to set up this app so quickly.
Building the app is very straightforward once you have a solid data model.
I can create simple apps using Glide, but I would like to see more complex capabilities there as well.
I don't have the resources to pay for an engineer to prototype my concepts, and Glide lets me prove out my ideas on my own for free.
Automatic sync ,webhooks ...etc Charts progress bar
Need a sync buttom in glide app,or scroll down to update latest data.
Get faster to see the data, and adjustable
Very useful and easy to use specially for novice users
Limited free version with a limit of 500 rows
Organize data and make it accessible for many people on the go
Low code to no code. The possibilities are endless. Continuous development.
Updates frequently cause old apps to break.
Helps streamlines some processes and reduce the possibilities of a user breaking the tools
De todas las plataformas con las que probamos Glide fue la más sencilla y la segunda más robusta.
Podría mejorar la manera de trabajar el CSS desde el editor.
Conectar usuarios directamente y recolectar información.
Allowed us to rapidly build an MVP that we started testing with customers within days. The app looked slick and professional, and using Glide gave us all the functionality we needed for authentication and limiting content to the right user/company. Overall it was perfect for what we needed to build a web app quickly.
There is no charting functionality for web apps (there is for mobile apps) which means we had to hack together a workaround. Would love to see a native charts feature built into the web apps builder.
Glide allowed us to build a web application with all the basic functionality (restricting access to content, displaying data in a clear and straightforward way, email login & user authentication) at a speed that would not be possible with many other tools or platforms. It has been invaluable.
It's easy to change the app for any urgent demands. I like integration with google sheets. The synchronization between google and glide tabs works fine. There is no need to hire a specialist to work with the app.
Bugs! It's still a lot of bags. My main problem is errors with data types when I use "actions". Boolean or numbers cells go to google sheets as text. That's so annoying! Speed. The synchronization between google and glide tabs is slow. I have just 7k rows in my app, and it works slower than it was when I had 2000 rows.
It allows me to make detailed invoices and control my employees' time. I can quickly create an easy-to-use app and modify it every time I need smth new. Integration with google sheets allows me to reduce the risk of losing my data.
The logic behind the app you build can get as complex as you can imagine. Simple apps can be created in literally minutes. It is easy to create integrations with glide using webhooks and the glide API
Missing some more robust design options. Missing full RTL support
It allowed me to build a working MVP for a complex system and saved me a lot of money I would have paid software developers. It also enables me to make quick adjustments and changes to my app to get quick customer feedback on new features
It's very easy to build stuff with Glide!
I'd be happy if Glide supported RTL text alignment and RTL text direction.
We sometimes build a Glide app to visualize spreadsheet in a nicer way, especially for our non-tech clients.
1. Ease of use and easy navigation of the site - when something new is added in Sheets (e.g. new column), helpful comments are available to guide what is needed for next steps 2. Create something amazing and scale when you're ready - with just some basic knowledge of GSheets, one can create a simple mini-app and scale accordingly. My app started as just a tool for my support team to highlight tickets to my CS team, and eventually scaled to become a mini-CRM tool for my customers
1. Path of upgrade to paid plans is a little hard to find - when my rows exceeded the maximum allowable for my plan, my end-users were not able to see newly added info till I was flagged. Perhaps a reminder via an email will be helpful? 2. Inability to copy and clone templates - when a change is made on one instance of my app (e.g. I had 2 same apps running concurrently but they're for 2 different teams), I have to spend time replicating it to the other when a clone will be helpful
Providing a platform to test out an MVP - when my customer base is small, it is easy to build something quick and fast for us to determine if the approach of our app (A simple CRM) works. When launched, it was well received and with scale, we're able to add new fields where needed and finally determine what requirements are needed as we achieved a MVP. We've since transitioned to building our own in-house CRM with the learnings from it
Glide is an intuitive platform to allow easy creation of apps from google sheets.
I would love some additional plug ins for additional data sources (e.g. Snowflake)
Glide enables me to visualise my data to potential users in real time.
I really appreciate all the choices Glide makes for you already. Basically, you can just connect to a data source, choose some building blocks and basta la pasta! It looks great and works just like that, way easier than Bubble for me.
At the moment, Glide is lacking either more building blocks or the option to build more custom pieces. It's amazing to have something that works at lightspeed, but our clients inevitably want to test new features. Right now we switch to Bubble when that happens, would be great if we could continue in Glide.
When validating new ideas. We used to stay too long in the "clickable mock-up" phase, testing and validating with interviews. Now we can just as easily create an MVP and test behaviour instead. This is a gamechanger for us!
Glide's product is very intuitive and easy to use. However, it also has advanced features that would surprise me from time to time.
Pages is still not as robust as the mobile version.
Quick iteration of ideas and MVPs.
Glide is has an easy-to-use interface, making it accessible even for those new to application development. Instant feedback allows users to quickly see the effects of changes.
Limited customization which restricts customization and can make it difficult to realize app ideas. I did not identify the possibility of publication in the App Store, making the platform only recommended for prototyping applications.
I'm using glider to prototype a tourist guide platform in my city. We are currently using the Google Sheets database, which allows other people on the team to update information about attractions in real time for development.
Most helpful about Glide is creating app very quickly and it doesn't require strong developer skills.
Although it is very easy to start creating apps it takes time to learn how to start.
Glide helps me create app with almost no coding skills. It allows me to solve problems.
Mobile responsiveness for web applications. Fun to use once you get the hang of it.
It would be great to be able to add Google Analytics to the starter package, especially for those on a budget who are building proof of concept/MVP and trying to get their product out want to track traffic as the begin to get users.
Relative ease of creating an app versus custom coding and maintaining that custom code base.
