Compare Softr with other popular tools in the same category.
We're a charity organization that have built 4-5 websties on Softr, including our non-profit intiatives with standalone websites, and web pages with our sub-domain. Softr is an incredibly easy to use tool, and their customer support is amazing which respond within 24 hours and have been super helpful.
As a no-code tool, there are many templates and functions to choose from. I look forward to seeing more and more templates and features being introduced in the future, so there's a wider range of features we can include for the websites.
With the lack of a big development budget and no in-house developer, Softr is an amazing tool for us (generalist and designers) to create websites easily, launch new projects and test new concepts.
It is great that it supports SSO. We don't have to hand out authentication information to users, which drastically reduces support work.
There are significant differences in the way UPDATE and INSERT of existing data are constructed. UPDATE can be done with built-in functions, but INSERT must rely on ZAPIER, etc.
Atypical, lightweight problem-solving needs arise frequently. Since we cannot afford to implement a dedicated service for this purpose, this type of service is very useful.
Softr is easy enough for anyone to create web apps with no coding knowledge and provides deep customizations.
Softr limits the number of site members on apps to less than 5 with the lowest tier plan.
Softr has helped display visual data for my community to search and view.
Easily Build web interfaces for Saas prototype.
Early days issues. A bit expensive for a startup
Easy solution for our customers. They just fill out the form and get a personal AI Assistant.
Softr is the easiest way to setup a simple web application leveraging both the ease of a simple page builder with multiple components options and the power of Airtable as a great database for most use cases.
It's super easy to have something that works, it's still a bit more tricky to have something that looks great. If you want professional look and feel, you'll probably have to resort to adding custom code and CSS, which is what you were probably trying to avoid in the first place.
Softr is bridging the gap between ideas and reality by allowing anybody to build a simple MVP without having to learn to code or find someone with the necessary skills. It's also great for building internal tools and have them perfectly match the needs and specificities of your company.
The speed of execution coupled with the level of customisation when using Softr.
The forms do not support entering numbers. Updating Airtable is a bit rudimentary. Can't change the edit button. Cant rename fields. Permissions can be better
Adding a good-looking UI and permissions on top of my Airtable data. I am an Airtable consultant. and Softr has been useful for my clients.
It's extremely simple to build your website and link it to all the majors third party APIs (Hotjar, Airtable, etc.)
There are limitations, like any nocode app. Softr leans towards simplicity compared to some other nocode apps, which makes it very easy to setup, but expect some limitations. For example, it's not possible to center a button that is alligned left in some components. But overall, with some flexibility in your design (you have to conform to softr design decisions) softr is an amazing tool to make your platform.
I was able to learn how to use softr and make my first fully functionnal platform using Airtable and Stripe in under 3 days. That is impressive.
The best thing about Softr is the speed with which you can build even complex applications. Everything is based on Airtable, so your database can be large and have many connections between tabs. For that, Softr will show it in a user-friendly way. The biggest advantage is creating accounts in a simple way.
Perhaps the biggest drawback is the lack of customizability of some of the blocks. Then we can't show all data as we want or customize tiles, so the layout of the pages is not as nice as it could be.
It solves very well the problem of creating a quick MVP that works and is fully functional if you add Make or at least automation in Airtable.
It allows user to code even complex codes without the use of any code tool
Adding any sorr of custom piece of code requires paid subscription.
Helpede me to compile codes that I couldn't do in other platforms due to the prerequisition of code tool knowledge
Softr is easy to use and has many features built-in and templated to get started. It is easy to integrate with Airtable. Customer support is easy to access via the inbuilt web chat.
The template building blocks that Softr relies on could be more flexible concerning UI customisation.
Softr is allowing me to pursue my SAAS goals without needing to immediately engage with developers;
Ease of implemention, great and very fast customer support.
Connection to Airtable doesn't work very well at times.
We have multiple candidates to our program to be distributed for Profs to review.
It is very quick to get up and running with Softr and produce a functional working tool Great for developing proof of concept.
Lacks flexibility and performance is quite slow. The blocks and templates could do with more attention to make them suitable for more uses. Some features feel quite early and immature still.
Softr allows me to test ideas without involving a development team or dedicating too much time to learning.
Easy to learn Quick to draft examples and options. Easy to connect to airtable Can be hosted on your own domain
I'd love for softr to allow for more free app users so it would allow for a better testing environment.
We needed a website solution that could easily feature brands on one page. Issue we had with wix and other platofrms is that it wouldnt seemlesly fetch information onto websites, which softr resolved
I have gone from knowing not much about developing a web portal, to learning a LOT and liking it! The support team has been great when we have needed help! Its heads over tails better than other options we have tried.
It loads a little slowly, and when you have to reset a linked source you have to reconnect all connected items, but otherwise, it has been pretty user friendly.
We need a client portal that works for both clients and client coordinators. We're almost ready to launch and there are always going to be last minute issues, but I see us ready to launch very soon.
Easy to use Helpful integrations with airtable Quick support from the team Works for multiple device screen sizes
No out of the box controls for cookies / cookie policies for end user GDPR
Building a portal for our client
Softr rocks because the platform easily connects with Back-end-as-a-service offerings like Airtable making it easy to deploy applications for our clients. The support is incredible and it has been great supporting our clients with this service.
More integrations and modules would be helpful but what is there really works for us so no major complaints.
Configurable application scaffolding based on an Airtable back end. Need to be able to provide easily configurable apps to our team members and clients.
I have 0 experience setting up a website till I started using Softr. It's the easiest no-code platform I've used and the customer support is great! Lots of integrations to play with and it feels like a platform that can scale as well.
There are a few features I wish it had but I think they are going to be released soon so I'm quite happy
Easy to build an MVP
the fact that the database can be built without msql.
The subscription is a little expensive and I noticed bugs when integrating other applications.
Web page creation without code.
It's easy and fast to learn how to create a new site. The way to build the site is easier than other more complex platforms but also powerful.
There are not many features and design options if you need to create a more complex project.
Easy way to create a website conected with AirTable. It was exactly what I need.
connexion avec airtable, faciliter d'emplois
pas assez d'option de modification du designe
portail de connexexion pour mes clients de airtable
I like that all my information that is in AirTable is live updated into my Softr website. It is very conveininet for my customers and we are even able to create an app with softr so our customer experience can even get better.
I dislike the limited customization. For example, to create a button to go back to the previous page, I have to insert a custom code. There are many improvements to be made, but I believe they will come with time.
Softr allows my customers to order products from my inventory that I created in AirTable so it allows them access to my products and I do not have to keep track of them in another database making the whole process seamless.
It is so fast to whip up a web app prototype! The customer service is excellent - the team will jump in to help hands-on. Compared to other platforms, Softr is fast to learn.
There are limitations to UI particularities that can make a big difference for the user. There are some finicky bits that come with any no-code platform. Troubleshooting is a part of life. Customer service is limited on the weekends.
I'm working on product-market fit, and Softr is perfect for prototyping different ideas to get feedback from users. Softr also integrates with several analytics tools to allow for more granularity on user behavior.
Easy to use and nice templates to quickly create a filter-able website
Limitations in design customization - especially with how filtered lists are rendered
Create a directory / marketplace dynamically with Airtable data
I like how intuitive this is and how well it are working together with Airtable. It covers exactly my needs. I also do appreciate how quickly new updates are coming along, and they are all relevant to use.
I do still wait for some more features to make my website more special. I'm sure that will come soon. The software is also quite pricey, but at least it forces you to really utilize all the features in the platform.
It makes it much easier for to work with consultants and freelancers. I can also create logins for my clients and control what data they should see. That is very helpful going forward.
It connects to airtable and other data sources to make your own app. The UI options are balanced to be on the simple side with enough options to make it your own style.
When a user is able to edit fields in a record, the user has to edit all the editable fields from the same list. It would be much better if this could be limited to a specific block, so the user only has the option to edit the relevant fields in the block. So data entry can be split into sections. This can be done in a workaround, but it's laborious.
Giving many users a way to view and edit data in my airtable base. Setting up a functional app at a relatively low cost in a tech stack that has a relativey achievable learning curve. Great for bootstrapping startups!
Easy to play around with without learning and then great live chat functionality to ask when you get stuck on something specific. In general its a very flexible tool to use.
I am building a marketplace and so some of the features that I would like are unavailable such as being able to make events/classes that my partners list weeky.
The ability to build my own platform and user flows without spending alot of money on a developer - especially as I am in the test and learn phase of my launch and I just want to launch as soon as possible to get feedback from customers.
Softr is a great way to introduce yourself to the no-code development environment. Being able to build the front end in the designer and the back-end in Airtable (which is super easy to use and understand and also provides a very complete database that suits all needs)
There comes a time where you need to have some more complex understanding of internet protocols to connect Firebase for example, however there's nothing you can't learn with a few clicks in YouTube and Google
Right now, Softr is just helping me out to settle my various interests and not being used for a business purpose. However, I plan to make some internal tools for the NGOs I collaborate with and further projects down the road.
Their customer service is amazing! And, there are so many features that can be used to make your app exactly what you want it to be.
It's always hard to use something pre-built.
Building a two-sided market place and client dashboard.
You don't need to be a coder to use most of the features. SoftR provides a library of pre-built blocks that let you easily create a webpage with enough flebility to make it your own, and not an average page that seems to be cloned from others. They also provide amazing support online.
There's still a limit to the degree of flexibility if you don't know how to code (this can easily be solved with the custom blocks they offer if you have certain degree of coding knowledge)
Woth SoftR we are creating places where to exchange information with our customers and automate processes to improve their experience.
