I am thoroughly impressed with Glide's user-friendly interface and seamless functionality. It has significantly streamlined my workflow and allowed me to create dynamic and interactive apps without any coding knowledge. The ability to quickly prototype and deploy apps is a game-changer for me. The support team is also very responsive and helpful. Glide has truly transformed the way I approach app development.
While I find Glide to be an incredibly useful platform, there are a couple of areas where I believe there is room for improvement. Firstly, I've encountered occasional glitches when customizing certain app elements, which can be a bit frustrating. Additionally, the pricing plans could be more flexible to cater to various needs and budgets. Overall, though, I appreciate the value Glide brings to app development.
Glide has been instrumental in simplifying app development for me. Previously, creating functional and user-friendly apps required significant time and coding skills. However, with Glide's intuitive interface and pre-built components, I can now quickly prototype and deploy apps without any coding knowledge. This has significantly reduced the development timeline and allowed me to focus on the core features of my apps. Additionally, Glide's ability to integrate with various data sources and provide real-time updates has elevated the user experience of my apps. Overall, Glide has saved me time, resources, and effort, enabling me to bring my app ideas to life more efficiently.
Build an app on Glide it's very simple and intuitive. In my first contact with Glide, I was already able to buil an incredible app to use in my company at time.
The problem that I had with Glide, and was what makes me stop using it, was the rows limit. I know that this is how Glide makes money, but 500 rows it's too short. I tried to build an app for myself, but I needed at least 10.000 rows.
Build an app with programming language its hard when you don't have time to learn. Glide makes the whole process, more simple, more quicker and gave the opportunity to everyone to create something.
In today's bustling digital age, isn't it a relief to find a tool that values simplicity and efficiency? Glide does precisely that, serving as a breath of fresh air for app development. Ease of Use: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Glide is refreshingly straightforward. Its interface does away with the unnecessary, letting users focus on what truly counts. The drag-and-drop feature, coupled with real-time syncing to Google Sheets, feels effortlessly efficient – like everything's been optimized just right. Community & Support: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Glide's community feels like a bustling marketplace of ideas – think GitHub but for app enthusiasts. It’s a space where users freely swap insights, backed by evolving forums and tutorials. The customer support? Think of them as your go-to tech guardian angels. Affordability: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Budget-smart and startup-friendly, Glide nails it in the pricing department. The Free plan is a godsend for initial validation, and as your vision takes flight, the Pro and Business plans are there to match your stride. Overall Thoughts: Glide isn’t just another app development tool; it’s a philosophy. It champions simplicity without compromising on tech prowess. It encourages user innovation, fosters community vibes, and does it all without burning a hole in your pocket. For those who appreciate the elegance of less being more, Glide is a dream come true. Overall Rating: 5/5.
Glide certainly has its merits, but let's pull back the curtain on some areas where it doesn't quite hit the mark. Over-simplicity: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ Glide's mantra of simplicity, its pride and joy, occasionally feels like a double-edged sword. For basic projects, it's a dream. But for those with grander ambitions, aiming to weave intricate functionalities and customizations, Glide can feel somewhat restricting. It’s like being handed a compact toolbox when you were gearing up for a full-fledged workshop. Integration Lock-in: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ The Google Sheets integration is undeniably clever, but also feels a tad limiting. In a world that's leaning into decentralization and open web ideals, having broader options for data sources is a must. It's a bit like being handed the keys to a single room when the promise was of an entire mansion.
It is allowing me to create in-house software solutions for our small business. Glide is a great companion when it comes to deploying quick solutions for complex problems.
The simplicity to make and share an application.
Some domain features are quite difficult to implement, even with formulas.
It provide all the necessary to focus on what the app will do. We gain time on starting and deploying a project.
That Was simple project to do it.. Im not a IT guy and don't have time to spend and learn code. With Gilde I accomplish main structure in minutes (maybe hours) but not days or weeks..
When I start used a Glide there Was not so many option about the look but that was a long time ago... Now You get all what You need even You use just a free option to test is it for You or not.
That Was simple app for bus drivers where they can find all most important information about work. Was very aeasy to conect to already space with information and conect with that what we dont have yet.
As a programmer without any knowledge on web /mobile apps, I was able to learn to design apps within only 3 hours (with a bit of help). It has excellent UI Design Components, can integrate with spreadsheet and other data sources in parallel, Rapid Developement, Quick to learn, great community to ask questions and glide experts who take pain to understand our problem and suggest solution. A lot of basic things can be done with the free version.
Limited Database Updates (comes with a price), Lack of flexibility with coding, Difficult to version and copy paste stuff, Lack of session variables where even a read only screen could consume update quota. Can only be used for specific business cases for the pricing they provide (not something I dislike, but keeps my options limited).
Helped me make easy and free apps that can be used day to day and also open up more opportunities as an app developer
Easy to navigate and use, as well as connect with app creators for insight and execution.
For the project I was working on, it just didn't have enough flexibility to truly customize it for what exactly we needed it for.
A less inexpensive avenue for employee engagement platform.
It's easy to use : easy to import sheets The design is simple and easy to understand
We can't put yet the app on the store (apple store and google store) comparing to bubble.
Building an internal app in a simple way and show the possibility of the no code to their users.
I've been using Glide for many years to respond to my clients' requests for mobile app creation. I've tried a lot of different software, but none of them has worked for me. The difference is that with Glide, the learning part is really simplified to the maximum, and you move on very quickly to creating the application. Today, I'm able to respond quickly to my customers' requests, and the results are largely satisfactory. What's more, the price evolution was a pleasant surprise, and I haven't found any other offer with such a good price/quality ratio.
I'd like to be able to offer my customers the option of push messages, but at the moment it's still too complicated. Likewise, address management with OpenStreetMap is sometimes a bit haphazard and requires "manual" corrections.
Glide enables me to offer viable solutions for customers who don't want to/can't afford to embark on prohibitively expensive developments. It also enables me to respond within very reasonable timescales.
I appreciate having the ability to integrate Google Sheets into Glide as the backend. As a Google Apps for Education campus, this makes the process of our app creation and prototyping very seamless.
I haven't found any downsides up to this point.
For many of our district solutions, we have previously utilized data collection and tracking in antiquated ways, and through Glide, we can automate the data collection process across all sectors of the office.
The app is very easy to setup even for a beginner.
Once your work is published, any editing made is immediately live. Would be nice to be able to review changes, save and then publish those changes.
Currently using Glide as a Team Directory app. The majority of our team members work remotely. Our directory includes a team photo and all their contact details. We've also included a tab for links that our installers and sales personnel can use with ease. Excited to learn other ways we can expand the app.
Glide has been an excellent tool for me to easily prototype my ideas without the need for extensive reading or video tutorials. Its user-friendly interface allowed me to work on my project seamlessly, and I found it to be an enjoyable and rewarding experience to see my ideas come to life.
It is reasonable for a product to require profit to sustain itself, however, it would be beneficial if the free subscription offered more features, such as integrations. I am interested in testing embedded pages, for instance. In addition, the current organization of content (components) on pages is poor, especially when there are several of them. It would be incredibly helpful if components could be grouped.
Glide has been incredibly helpful for me as I don't possess front-end skills. It has provided me with a way to create robust solutions without having to code. With Glide, I was able to generate a professional-looking report all by myself. The report showcased the results of employee evaluations, something that I probably wouldn't have been able to create soon if I had to ask a developer to do it for me.
Reducing the complexity of mobile app development will be key to leveraging data collection while maintaining data integretiy.
Is anything ever truly no-code? Easier coding is more like a true statement, but there are going to be restrictions with that ease...
Easier dat collection is always key to user engagement.
*easy to use *friendly UI *Good and growing community *New features every month *Create really awesome apps really fast
*Can be significantly limiting (depending on how much you pay) *Price can be high
Glide is helping my company create a custom-made calculator (for possible deals) and portal for our sales reps that integrates with many services, including IA
I've tried tons of no-code platforms, and Glide is the simplest and easiest to get started Very simple to get started and launch a product without any coding experience Ease of use: Glide is one of the easiest no-code app builders to use. There is no coding required, and you can create a fully functional app in minutes by simply connecting a Google Sheet to Glide and then dragging and dropping elements onto a canvas. Powerful features: Glide offers a wide range of features, including: A variety of pre-made templates to get you started The ability to connect to multiple data sources, including Google Sheets, Airtable, and Salesforce A wide range of widgets and components, including maps, calendars, and chat interfaces The ability to customize your app's design and functionality Security and reliability: Glide is a secure and reliable platform. Your data is encrypted and hosted in the cloud, and Glide offers a 99.9% uptime guarantee. To top everything, the community is so supportive you won't ever need to contact the support team
Just like any no-code platform, you will feel limited. However with their custom actions, I've yet to find a scenario that I can't bend within Glide to make it work I do find that the apps I make get slow overtime, however I think I need to spend time on optimising them.
Launch and validate MVPS with customers
Use Airtable data in a user-friendly and accessible manner.
That each page requires a table to be tied to it.
quick custom app, using Airtable data
Simplicity of creating an app without any development skills and without spending a lot of time learning a new tool : I created my first app with Glide in 1 hour and I presented it to a prospect
The tool can be too limited if you want to design a custom view, you have to use existing templates so you are not free to create a custom design and think your app exactly as you want sometimes
I created an app for a client that runs a shop center and wanted to have a loyalty card system and promote offers to their clients. We created this app thanks to Glide and functionalities available
I really like how using Glide can help me and my peers work on the current project while communicating with the team. I really like how effective this app is. Competition is not in play with Glide; Glide is one of the best apps where project and communication are working well!
Glide works fine for us. We don't have any issues within the app. Because there aren't any issues, Glide is fine how it is. A recommendation I have is that there could be more appearance options.
Glide solved where communication issues may happen between a platform, but Glide has no issues whatsoever. Glide also helps me become more effective with my projects!
It is so easy to build apps using Glide since I am not a programmer, nor do I have any experience in coding. Their drag and drop function and the smooth transition between pages is very remarkable.
Although the system is robust there are a few additions that would improve the system which includes having a simplified integration to multiple payment modes which can be country specific.
It helps me for rapid prototyping of mobile applications. It comes in handy when I want to build a basic functioning app within a few hours without requiring android studio.
I realy like easy to use eniroment, and anyone can use it for small and easy projects for free.
There is no way u can actively change and update info, it's all based on databeses. It should be more compelx and there sholud be way u van add code like in WordPress.
I didnt have to learn any new language for makeing mobile aps.
The most beneficial aspect of Glide is how user-friendly it is for beginners. I used Glide to create my first app and it was very helpful to have only a handful of features to edit/adjust.
The only negative aspect of Glide for me has been that within the "Data Editor" there is no ability to drag rows into a desired position. Instead of changing the order of rows, one has to adjust other existing rows manually.
Glide is making creating apps easier without an extensive coding background. Glide made it easy for me to create my first app for a startup company, which has benefitted me immensely.
The simplicity makes it really appealing, being able to very quickly understand how it works and then increase complexity. I very easily manage to create an app that it took way more time everywhere else.
I believe that the first paying plan should have Google analytics. I feel that it is very crucial to give the next step of advancing for the pro plan. We are left completely in the dark in terms of analytics.
Making acessible for the someone that has very limited coding skills to create something that can become very complex. The relations and templates columns are true game changers.
It was super easy to get started, creating an MVP took a couple of days. The user interface is great, and things are generally intuitive. It was really easy to collaborate on projects, given the team was spread across Denmark, Germany and Australia.
We very quickly ran out of runway with the fee version, that said the subscriptions are reasonable and you get a lot.
With glide we were able to create a relatively complex marketplace, including user profiles, geo info etc. One of the core problems it solved was enbaling us to be flexible and make continous chages to our platfrom without coding.
Glide offers a CRUD made by tables or Google sheets , for less than 30 dollars you can have an app ready to be loaded on every mobile devices able to load html5 sites , inclusivity at its best.
While it has a good builder there is a learning curve and for things like make pay users for pro screens you have to create your own solution, then it has not a good audio player so you have to use web views to load it externally. Its builder has not so many option for the interface but using the Rich text component you can personalize by using css and the great Community Glide has.
Its a good entry level for start a simple no code app and it not even expensive ! Then when you learn enough you could use as Crud for expensive and more pro app with other languages.
Glide is easy to get set up and pretty easy to use. They started out with pulling data from Google Sheets but now you can bring in data from Excel (not much better than Sheets) but also Airtable. The design choices are limited but that's okay - the limited choices all look modern and are what users see in other apps. Glide Pages is also easy to use, but better for internal uses.
Pulling in data from Sheets is not ideal, and we've had to use workarounds to create relationships between our data (in Sheets). We'd prefer the ability to export our code. Also looking for a feature for 1-on-1 chat between users.
We've used Glide Pages to create a customer portal for our client - this helped them a lot with reducing the admin work with answering questions through email. We also use Glide to create MVPs for products we build for quick validation.
Connects seamlessly with google sheets, interface is good and does the job well for internal activities and workflows.
The application is not scalable and frequently shows "Could not load network resources". But this is resolved by refreshing again. But, it cannot be given to users due to this reason. It also does not carry a mobile number login which is very common in my country, and also does not have notification features like WhatsApp or push.
1) Launch tools which I do not want to spend developer bandwidth on. Acts as a good MVP 2) Speed to market 3) Easily editable content through google sheets 4) Build business internal directories
As a developer it was easy to understand how Glide works. I was able to ship an app in one week, I know that it would have taken me at least a month to get the same result in react native.
Glide is excellent for most use cases. The problems start when you have a particular need. As I was working on a hotel booking app, I had to work with dates. Comparing them, calculating the number of days between 2, etc. This was very complex to do in a spreadsheet environment. If I had been able to add a few lines of javascript, my problem would have been fixed in minutes. But this option is not available.
Glide is solving the problem of removing all the unnecessary pure code complications. Most apps don't need super complex customizations, at least at first. Glide helps do 90% of the work in 10% of the time. This is invaluable.
Glide has been a great tool to build an MVP for a B2B app and put it in the hands of our clients. Works well with Airtable as a database. Price -competitive as compared to their competitors.
It required some time to get familiar with how Glide works, and to build more complex features. We got the help from a glide expert to build more advanced features and were very happy with him.
Software development is a big investment in time and money. Glide helps build MVP (or even "permanent" App) faster, at a fraction of the cost.
connect with my way of thinking, structuring data first and then deciding the workflow of things, it's the best super fast way of getting ideas into action, and test your requirements with little effort
It lacks of more structures to make data display in different ways. It would also be advantageous to have an easy way of connecting web services to connect with other apps
solves the problem of deploying a lot of resources into app development, and comes super handy for prototyping. It's also a good way for teaching app development to teens
