Their support is second to none. That's not to say that their support reps are perfect. They are people and sometimes they mess up. But 95% of my support requests are handled quickly and competently. They are great.
InMotion doesn't have system outages very often. Maybe twice per year. But when they do, they are very bad and seem to last for days. Which is unacceptable. I host a LOT of websites and have wanted to leave them for months now, but it's not something I can just do at the drop of a hat. Take time and planning and that's where I'm at right now.
They have affordable and good VPS' for running my business on. Support is great.
I like that I can connect my work email to my personal email and create a personalized email address.
This software often freezes. It also doesn't let you change the font or color in your emails. It's very standard and not very visually appealing.
I am able to set up a buisness email with this hosting. This lets me keep my buisness clients separate from my personal contacts.
Inmotion hosting used to have affordable prices and outstanding and prompt phone, chat, email support however times have changed. Throughout my time with InMotion Hosting they've been supportive and usually always able to resolve any problems I've had.
Over these last couple of years InMotion hosting's support had been lackluster and subpar at best. They were once commended for their amazing dedication to their customers and had offered FREE site backups as well as free SSL's - however I am not fond of the support they provide now. There has been a lot more service outages as well as long chat and call wait times. Their hosting speeds are still comparable and usually are really good - however I am getting fed up with the servers being down more often than not.
InMotion hosting used to be a good host where they were attentive to it's customers needs and concerns. They were once reliable in regard to providing the support I needed to resolve my case, however the benefits to risk comparison had shrunk a lot since I first signed up with them.
The low-cost is a great feature that I find creates a very large profit margin for my business. It easily integrates with CPanel, and the free use of WHMCS is fantastic. You can also find 24/7 support with people who are not only helpful but also extremely knowledgeable. They also have great uptime, and white-labeling makes it so my clients can always see my company's name on everything.
There are a few complaints I have about InMotion Hosting. First of all, it does not have the most professional look. The GUI of their login panel can be a bit confusing at first, and there are a lot of people in my organization that still do not understand how to use it. I would also advise them to educate their support teams more on the use of WHMCS. WHMCS does not currently have a phone support line, so this would give InMotion a huge leg-up in my opinion, and make them more credible in my eyes.
I am currently using InMotion for their reseller features. This allows me to lease out space on their servers to my clients. They have great uptime and support features. This makes life so much easier when it comes to managing client complaints about their websites or other such features.
The only thing is that it is a bit cheaper than CloudWays. But you get what you pay for.
Long wait times for chat - sometimes up to 20 minutes. Unhelpful support - I've told chat I couldn't wait longer for them to look into my problem (I was waiting 20 minutes) and to open a ticket. They said yes, then I come back to my computer and they did not do this. So then I email about the issue and they email back hours later saying "There isn't an issue". Yes, there is still an issue. Now I'm waiting for support AGAIN about the issue. Their platform i is extremely buggy. I have to set things up multiple times, they say they work, but then they don't. Also, sales mentioned migration was included when UPGRADING our servers with them (the only reason I didn't recommend Cloudways to my client) and that was just a lie. We have to do it ourselves, and it was extremely difficult because platform i is so buggy. Why does it take 3-5 minutes to PULL UP MY ACCOUNT?
Its creating more problems then solving the problems.
Their services are affordable as compared to other service providers such as Afrihost and Name Hero
Their servers are very slow. when you are busy editing your website, the I/O Usage just maxes out and the site slows down to a complete holt and has to wait and start again
Providing server space for web hosting retailors and companies
I don't like the hosting. In the last 10 years, this is one of the worst hosting I tried as a web developer.
They don't offer a ticket system, so you have to call and waste time everytime you need something. Or send email that they take an average 2 days to answer. Besides that, during maintenance, they lost my database 2 times last year, with no back-up. So I lost my customer database because they lost the production copy and also my backups.
None, choose any other hosting for you or your client.
I liked that my client is satisfied with the cost of their hosting service and the service itself. Better than GoDaddy, which this particular client was considering. The pricing information was clear, the billing has been properly executed, and their customer service has been sufficient.
I dislike the shared hosting environment, which is more a matter of me being picky about which types of hosting services I use and recommend, and less about InMotion Hosting. Please note that I have not used their other services (VPS, etc).
My client has found decent shared hosting service which meets their needs. They had significant budgetary constraints, so we wound up using InMotion Hosting's shared hosting service after some shopping around. Furthermore, this particular client's website required very little server resources whatsoever.
