Quickbooks is a wonderful accounting software that has been utilized at our company for years now. It's great for estimates, accounting, PO's, everything related for a construction company to track their costs.
Quickbooks is a bit difficult to navigate when you first start. So it generally takes someone familiar with it to train the new user. There is some training of basics but every company is set up differently.
Quick books keeps track of our entire company from an accounting standpoint from running payroll to keeping track to day to day costs and creating new estimates for new jobs.
The fact that QuickBooks allows multiple users connected on the server to login simultaneously and each have their own privacy and restrictions to ensure security and prevent theft and confidential information going out. It allows us to access all reports for customers and suppliers alike , the stock
I don't have any issues with QuickBooks Desktop, like usual it would take consumers time and support and some training to get used to the program however I feel it is a good product overall.
QuickBooks assists me with the issues of keeping track of my debtor's and their payments. My stock and the mark ups and Qtys aswell as the re-order levels. It also assist in my supplier payments and receiving counter sales and much more. It actually facilitates the entire supply chain that is why I recommend it for wholesale and retail. Imports and exports of files can also be used . It is one of the best ERP softwares used.

Its not great for bigger businesses. when you grow to a 10 mil company you tend to out grow it. Some of the custom reporting can be a bit tricky to customize if you are not familiar with strings and commands.

The Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise software has excellent user support. Great and integrated features. User-friendly software, very easy to use, and no need for training or prior language. Flexible for business daily activities and project management. Quickbooks has the features like Configuration of different Financial Statements, Personalized Invoice formats, and Data/Reports download into Excel. The customer billing and collections process can be customized to meet the user's needs.
A third party is also required to manage remote access. Payroll can be done either in-house or outsourced.There can be a bit of a cost associated with multiple users.

There is not a lot I dislike about QuickBooks; I think it is very well versed in all aspects. However, I have to say that when it syncs with Acctiacte, some fields don't carry over correctly. I don't know if that is a Acctivate issue or a QuickBooks one. That is one of the only things I would change.
I find that QuickBooks is constantly updating and advancing its technology to help users better navigate the database. With every update, I feel the program gets easier to use.
Quickbooks is a good program for tracking finances, pricing, and payroll. It works well for us the mass majority of the time. We don't have many issues with it. The issues we do have can usually be resolved quickly. Their support team is great, quick, and efficient.
Quickbooks can be finicky. The system they use does not like having locked-down folders or rights. Every so often we will have problems with Multi-user mode or with the services running properly. Usually, a reboot of the services or the server will fix the issue. It doesn't happen too often so it's not a major issue for us.
Quickbooks lets us track what bills we have, what has been paid, when they were paid, and the check numbers used for paying them. It is also used for paying our employees every two weeks. It lets us import hours from our time tracking software, TimeClock Plus without issues. The import is quick and easy.
It is the finest in its category at what it does. When a smaller company begins to outgrow the capabilities of QuickBooks Pro, QuickBooks Enterprise provides significantly more power and possibilities. It functions identically to the standard version of QuickBooks, making it straightforward to use.
Getting the reports to the tax office might be rather challenging. Tax accountants may require various documentation.
It serves as accounting software for several businesses. I appreciate that we do not have to mix up the books because each may have a unique corporate profile.
The user-friendly platform lacks much other software, The best part is that even a newbie can start using QuickBooks within a few hours of training. Desktop version is more reliable

Payroll processing is very easy and quick; it is also easy to create reports that greatly help with the monitoring of per project profit.
Although it is easy to make customized reports when I need it, the report itself is not shareable to non-users.
There was only one error that I encountered while updating payroll, Error15215. But it is easy to prevent it now that I am familiar what causes the error.

I have found that it has features that some of the big hitters for larger firms do not have (like auto-categorizing downloaded transactions and easy-to-use interfaces for vendor and customer centers, even inventory and time tracking). They also now have an interface with CRM tools. And the pricing is well suited for smaller businesses given the robust capabilities of this program. It gives you the ability to have up to 30 simultaneous users. Depending on the level of Enterprise you use, you can also work simultaneously between multiple company entities.
I am a long-time Quickbooks user, and there is not much that I don't like about it. I would say that it is not an ideal solution for large companies. And as with most financial software solutions, you need someone with experience to set it up and use it. If you're a very small or new business, start with the Pro version. But having someone experienced with the software (or learning it yourself) will really unlock all of the best functionality.
I help other businesses set up or move over to various Quickbooks products. I have seen many entities benefit from this program. Especially with the excellent job costing, reporting, inventory tracking, and simple accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows.
It is very robust as it offers the capacity to report by class, it offers job costing, and the reporting functions are very detailed
The only downside is the inability to report financial results for the month (or quarter) and year to date.
We are able to drill down to get the smallest minute detail for any financial cost. The application's features for multi-class reporting have allowed us the opportunity to really evaluate cost issues.

For what it does, this is the best in class. When a small business starts running into the limitations of regular QuickBooks, QuickBooks Enterprise gives you much more power and capabilities. It functions just like regular QuickBooks as far as the user is concerned which is simple to use.
With more power comes more complexity on the backend. It's not really a dislike, it's just reality. With QuickBooks Enterprise you need to run a server, either locally or they have an option for a hosted server. The price is more for Enterprise and the server has a cost.
I was running into user and size limits so I had to upgrade.
Surely, without those functionality, the building industry wouldn't be feasible. Quickbooks provides stock, job costing and all materials are tracked through one. To see how your profits and expenditures actually look, Quickbooks was its tool of choice.
If you've had a foreign government payroll business, you don't need a payroll option. However, it would've been awesome if Quickbooks are better connected to the finance company rather than importing/exporting salary documents.
Comprehensive cost of work with this is very cool. It is also useful to track where all the jobs come from. It allows us to decide whether wed gets any cold calls or whether we receive jobs from the third-party networks that we are invested in.

Banking feeds are not accordingly categorized. when you upload a banking file it does not give you to directly paid / select option.

Through the 3rd Party App, Webgility, we are able to import thousands of orders from Amazon and to get the extreme details of the settlement report to better understand Amazon's fees. Enterprise is very user friendly and easy to set up.
You need a good understanding of accounting. This is not for the beginner, entry level sole practitioner
We are able to run 3 individual companies and then create a consolidated P&L for the owner to get a quick view of how things are going. Again, the ability to get all the Amazon data and to do this in multiple currencies is just awesome.
