Ability to quickly access and share up-to-date financial information without remote logins, backup files, etc.
The speed and comparative lack of functionality compared to the desktop version of Quickbooks as well as no ability to have multiple report windows open.
We have been able to work better with clients to help solve bookkeeping and accounting questions based on real-time information rather than relying on historical data.
It’s simple with necessary features for a small business
No sequential numbers for JOurnal entries
It’s easy to use and cost effective
This is great for small businesses on the go and for every day updates
When more than one person tries to sign in on a company profile it starts to freeze and also scrolling is different for the online version as a post for the desktop version
Our every day bookkeeping, our reconciliations, our invoices, ours checks, And our financial reports are the key uses
It is convenient that it can link to bank accounts.
The program is not intuitive and has limited functionality.
Clients are able to view and pay their invoice at the same time.
I use it daily and it's a really good product
I don't dislike anything about it. It's good, simple, works well.
Invoicing and billing.
Honestly had a hard time learning maybe I’m old school I still used excel
The self learning books were complicated book needs to come with better instructions
Accounting
I like that I can use it anywhere. From a desktop computer or my tablet and phone with the app.
The cost, we use the most basic and it is $21 a month. It isn’t always user friendly either. There are certain things you can not make changes to.
We do all of our invoicing through QuickBooks. It’s nice to have them stored in one place that I can access anywhere.
The universal access and ability to update tags wherever I am
You need an accountant to see up your books for you first; organizational system is not intuitive
Tracking my expenses and deductions and income
What I like best about this program is how easy it is to do reoccurring payments monthly. It's so much easier than having to invoice the same amount every month.
It's difficult to wait the 5-7 days for money to transfer into my account. I am paid by the customers all at the same time each month. Sometimes it is tight while waiting such a long period for the payments to transfer.
It has made my life easier. We used to only take checks and now customers have the convince of paying online with their checking account as well.
Remote access was #1 reason for the switch. Ability to take online e, direct payments was second.
Very limited functionality. Settings don't stuck after being set in several areas. Hard to get live help.
Being able to work remotely is helpful. Accepting payments online is convenient.
Ability to share information with other parties involved with company. Easy invoicing and receiving of payments from customers. Syncing with banking and other financial programs makes for less manual work.
Some features that are not available on all programs - A mileage tracker for all programs, not just Self employed program. Features that were part of desktop program are not standard with online unless you pay more which which becomes expensive to small business owners.
Sending invoices to customers and receiving payments is a great feature.
The ability to send invoice requests for money
The fact that it downloads all spent or used money from any bank account you upload. For some reason it would download information to money I haven’t spent, show I’m in the negative, and so forth. It wasn’t an accurate platform for money coming in and going out. I’ve used it for 2 different businesses and it’s the same. Not sure what the issue is.
When we used it, it was useful for creating invoices. The layout and smoothness of this particular feature was great!
Easy for my clients and I to collaborate. No need to send QBW files back and forth.
Different interface than desktop version.
Ease of use and convenient since it's cloud based.
Ability to have multiple users log in and check information. No need for a server. No worries that when your desktop/laptop dies, your accounts will go with it to the electronic grave.
Does not have same reporting abilities, nor does it allow progress invoicing (in beta!). It is still a growing product, so there are some issues with its depth. Should receive notifications when new or even beta products are added. Just found out while reviewing product a beta is available for something I have been waiting for...
Multiple users looking at the data - with the desktop version someone has to run over to another person's desk/building to view anything or wait for the email with the report (which may not be what you were looking for in the first place!).
It's a reliable cloud application. Truly accessible from anywhere
Extra charges for 1099. Extra charges for Payroll. Price went up more than 50% annually this year.
Financial reporting
The automation/being able to log in anywhere
PO's aren't linked to Invoices, lack of custom items, and various other shortcomings compared to QB desktop
Bookeeping
I like that it keeps track of my expenses and what i owe other people. Pretty much book keeping.
feels clunky. like someone in their 40s-50s is leading the design. it isn't as easy and seamless as some of the newer software coming out targeting millennial. I don't like how expensive it compared to other free programs like expensify. I don't like that it outsources to bill.com for sending checks. it was very hard to learn
it's tracking my expenses and income and doing math for me. I'm not spectacular at math. It generates invoices and sends them automatically
I like invoicing my clients and receiving payments via ACH for $.50.
Customer service is not always the best when trying to resolve technical issues. Their response is always it's a known issue and it's being investigated. They will add you to the issue list, but never follow up with a resolution. You always have to call back.
Serving clients remotely and eliminating the requirements to work onsite. I realized reduced travel expenses and quicker turnaround of reports to the client.
I like that I can receive payment from clients and do everything in QuickBooks
The entering of invoice payments is a little complicated and clunky.
I love being able to email a client to get payment. It's great when someone isn't home.
Backup capability/consistency & accessibility across the Internet
The user Interface lacks the simplicity and consistency of the old version
Not using it yet
